I purchased 4 new bridgestone insignia se200 bl 15/65r16 98t 65,000 mile tires on 11/30/09 and on the way home from oklahoma city the front left tire separated.the tread completely came loose from the tire and rubber went flying all over the place.this tire only had approx 24,000 miles on it and it could have caused a fatality had i not been able to ease off the road.

Tire thread separation occurred while driving at about 60-70 mph on the highway causing vehicle to weave nearly out of control. A collision was avoided by the driver. Damage to the fender, bumper and side marker lights on the front passenger side. Tire brand was bridgestone insignia 175/65r14 dot ic8i e20 1604 eq8r.

Sidewall split on bridgestone insignia se 200, size 215x70r15, dot # wbm3 e20 0210.mileage on tire 39k, still good tread depth.i still have tire if any agency would like to inspect.didn't take it back to bridgestone b/c from what i have read, they would do nothing about it.

I have 4 bridgestone insignia tires. Not sure of mileage but i will go back to the dealer on monday to confirm, however i will guess about 25k to 35k. The tread looks very good. I have steel wires coming out of the sidewall. There are about a dozens wires between 2" and 8" hanging out. I noticed it because you can hear the wires slapping the fender and tire well as rotation occurs. I hope the factory responds in a positive way, we will see. I purchased a set of bridgestone insignia se200 5/2013 . 4months later i replaced 1 tire due to side wall splitting. Today 12/14/13 i replaced the tire that i bought in 9/13 for the same problem. I contacted bridgestone via email but got no responds i contacted them by phone they told me there was reason for me to be concerned about the tire failures i had experienced even though 40 % of the tires had purchased this year.3,000 miles on first tire even less on the second tire ,the tire dealer contacted bridgstone and replaced the tire with a firestone tire since bridgestone no longer maker the insignia and he did not want to use another insignia because of what he felt was a manufacturing defect that had been seen in the insignias and other tires that bridgstone makes some of witch have already recalled i will keep a close eye on rest of tires.in my 40 years of driving this is by far the worst set of tires i have ever owned . Bridgestone should do the right thing and recall this tire before a tire failure causes a fatal injury to some one .but i am sure because of the lack of responce and unconcern of the people that i had spoke to at bridgestone . My local tire dealer is send my failed tire to bridgestones tech's lets see what they have to say.
