I purchased (4) tires about one year ago from a bridgestone tire dealership. The tires are: 062065 dueler h/l d683 owl p225/70r15 100s. Late april '08, as i was washing the tires i noticed "cracks" on the sides, around and in between the treads of all four tires. On may 3, i took the car to the bridgestone dealer and filed the complaint that i believe the tires are now unsafe and requested replacement. The service manager (dan hilborn) promised to investigate with firestone and get back with me.on may 23, 2008, dan called me and said that the replacement tires are in and i can bring in my car to replace the tires. Same day, i took my car in and then dan tells me that the same tires are no longer instock and that i need to pay an additional $288.54 for upgraded tires to replace my defective tires. Dan also stated that the defective tires were from an "old stock" that were actually sold as new to move them. Dan referred me to "bill" from bridgestone firestone technical service dept in woodbridge, ill.bill also refused to replace my defective tires at no cost to me. He stated that these tires are safe to drive on them with cracks between and around the tire treads. Bill stated that there may be safety concern if you "can drive a head of a ball point pen in the cracks"!!!i believe these tires are defective and should be recalled, as i believe that an average consumer would not notice these cracks and will continue to drive on them which is a safety risk to the lives of our people. I happened to notice the cracks in tires because of my background in quality control in the automotive industry. Your prompt attention to this potentially serious safety situation is most appreciated.thank you.

The bridgestone dueler h/l400 (not h/l 683 or 684 ii as listed in the choices for this tire on this web site!!!!!)tires on our 2008 toyota highlander are terribly unsafe in all conditions other than dry roads.they hydroplane in the rain, the rear end slides in all types of snowy conditions, causing the stability control to kick in and compensate, and they require frequent topping off of the air pressure, more so than any tire on any vehicle i've ever owned.this tire is getting terrible reviews on tirerack.com from current owners of mazda cx-9s and highlanders, and there isn't another tire on the market in the size i would need to replace it.it's an accident waiting to happen.our car is a v6 powered 4x4 suv we bought brand new 10 months ago.it has never driven well in snow, and despite the full-time 4-wheel drive, the vehicle behaves like a rear-drive truck with summer tires.the car severely fishtails and slides sideways, with the stability control fully cutting power and applying certain brakes in attempt to correct course. This happens at every turn and intersection.it's not only embarrassing, it's also wreaking havoc on my fuel economy as i do so much slipping in these tires, and i fear i will be going off the road or sliding into someone's property or vehicle some day without warning.
The contact owns a 2004 lexus rx330.the vehicle has bridgestone dueler h/l 683 tires, size p265/70r15.after placing air in the tires, the contact drove for 42 miles.he reached his destination and noticed that the rear driver's side tire had three grapefruit-sized knots on the outside of the tire.aaa arrived and deflated the tire and noticed that the tread was separating from the tire.the current and failure mileages were 95,042. On 02/01/06 i purchased 4 tires for my truck from firestone and today i took it to the firestone dealer as i have a radial pull in one of the tires. They told me that the tires on my truck were 8,9 and 10 years old and that they could not fix my problem. The dot # on my receipt is 7xw8pib5500 which is not correct and with the 00 on the end the tires were over 6 years old when sold to me. I called there main office and they told me they would do an adjustment againstthe age of my tire and mileage and i would have to pay the rest which comes to over $565.00 dollars. In my old purchase i have lifetime wheel balance, lifetime wheel balance for labor and rubber valve, plus protect tire repair and replacement. I also have tire dry rot along with the radial pull and feel that the tires i got were well over the 5 years and i expect to get four new tires with the same warranty because that iswhat i paid for in the first place. They sold me tires first of all that were to old andthey did not have the correct dot number. With the way the one front tire that has a radial pull keeps pulling to the left it could cause an accident and with the tire rot they could blow out at any time and cause an accident also.
Bridegestone dueler tires boughton 6/07/08 at firestone in tulsa.on 9/02/08, less than 1500 miles later, had valve stem crack causing flat tire. On 11/02/08, another 1500 miles later, had a different tire go flat caused by cracked valve stem. Firestone insists that this is coincidental and that nobody else is making valve stem complaints.

I bought 4 new dueler alenzas from tires plus on apalachaee parkway on or about 11-2-2006 which are obviously defective, substandard and/or recalled tires, and they will not replace them or swap out for a better tire.four (4) other bridgestone dealers in tallahassee also will not honor the manufacturer's warranty:sears-0% trade-in value, discount tires-35% trade in value, tires plus on capital circle-obviously were defective; firestone on apalachee parkway-obviously are defective.the ford/chevy dealerships will not give me a dime on a trade-in, 1997 ford explorer.the tires have bulged at the bottom after 1 week, it feels like i am driving on mush, my ford shimmies and rolls to the left if i get over 50 mph.i have returned to tires plus almost every time i drove my explorer after getting the new duelers since 11-2-06, and on 1-29-07 tires plus finally replaced the left rear tire at no cost to me ($163 value), which was obviously defective when it was put on.bridgestone dueler h/l alenzas p225170r15 100t, dot quality grade 044-090, eh-3jr-bl-5l7, sku #92971-15416-5.i reported tires plus's failure to honor the manufacturer's warranty to the tallahassee police department in jan 2007, to which the intake officer replied "that is a civil issue".these tires are so unsafe to drive on that all mechanics and dealers can take one look at them and know it, yet all that i have contacted deliberately ignore my complaints.i have photos.updated 02/15/07.
