I had a blow out on my 2001 isuzu rodeo, causing my vehicle to go off the road to the right running into another vehicle. The seat belt came off, the airbags did not work. I sustained head injuries causing seizures, a displayed shoulder, and a fractured jaw. Due to the head injuries i was unconscious and unable to keep control of the vehicle.

With only 6900 miles on our 2005 crv one of the bridgestone dueler h/t 684 front tires blew while my wife was driving at approximately 10 mph in her employers parking lot. The tire pressure had just been checked two days before the blowout. The air bags did not deploy. My wife sustained a broken neck, concussion, head trauma and a facial laceration which required a plastic surgeon. Jb

Excessive vibration at 60 to 70 mph taken suv to the dealer three times and found out that tires are defective and have excessive radial force measurments and that they are unsafe to drive with aand may cause an acedent.dealer inspected the car and muitl times balance the wheel/tire using radial force balancing but unable to get rid of excessive vibration. Dealer gave me back suv as is (knowing it is unsafe to drive) and ordered 4 new tires of the same brand which took a week to recieve. I requested to replace tire with michiline ltx but dealer and nissan refused to do so. I requested a safety and responsibilty letter since they would not give me a choose of what brand to choose but they would not do so.dealer finally replaced tires and vibration is 90 %improved but still exists. Also i have taken my suv for a rattle in steering and the dealer found that the driver airbag was not installed properly from factory. Dealer fixed the problem and then three weeks later the same problem returned. Took suv to the dealer again and they put "tubes in the spring behind the airbag" this is to reduce rattle/vibration. Now the horn is unoperational due to this. You must put both hands on the horn/airbag and push very hard est 40ibs of force to engage the horn.this is unaccptible and unsafe to operate the vechical with out a horn.i do have a safety convern to other owner of this suv due to defective tires that can blow and casue a serous excedent. I dp hope that nhtsa take action. (dot number: en6d0800tiresize: 255/65r16)

I was driving on the hutchinson river parkway in new york at moderate speed, everything was fine, and suddenly and completely lost steering. Every ounce of my being was directed at trying to steer, to no avail. The car was like a bad carnival ride conducted by demons.i smashed into the guard rail on the right side of the highway, caromed off it, veered to the left and smashed into the concrete median jersey barrier on the left.i was absolutely certain i was about to die.thanks to the barrier and my seatbelt and airbags (i have side-impact airbags which did not deploy, only the front ones did - there was no passenger in my car), i did not go into oncoming traffic as i believed i was about to, walked away from my car and am sitting here writing to you now, quite banged up and bruised and with a fractured vertebra but miraculously alive.miraculously also, no other cars were involved.*** something failed in my car to cause this and i want to know what.there was either a tire or mechanical failure of some kind.(the tires still had decent tread on them.)my insurance company says the car and tires are so damaged from the impact that they can't tell what caused it and they show no interest in pursuing it. (it does not appear to have been a blowout.)i'm sure someone who knew how could investigate the car and find out what failed.it seems to me it should be of interest to honda and everyone else what went wrong here.i have notified american honda about the accident and was assigned a case number, but they have not gotten back to me. (p.s.the car has cruise control but i was not using it.)*la

The incident happened while driving home from school at around 4:30 pm. Just like always around at certain part of the freeway the traffic began and everyone was slowing down. I began to press on my breaks. This is were things all went to fast and are kind of weird. Going about 60 mph, my suv was not slowing down and it jerked to the left. There were a lot of bad, scary noises, ones that automobiles shouldn't make. Luckily, i didn't hit anyone else. My thought before i got out of the car was that i totally slammed into the center median. However, upon exiting the vehicle i saw that cosmetically the car was pretty much fine. All the commotion that i heard and felt didn't make sense at first but then it all came to fruition. It seems that going 60 mph with 10-15 feet my car came to a dead stop, resting on two right side tires and to left side wheels. The freeway patrolman went up and down the freeway to make sure i didn't hit anything (because i didn't!), and all he found were pieces of my car and nothing else.again we don't know what happened, but there is a long list of mechanical, body and refinish work that needs to be done and replaced. So far around 7,000+ in damages. Not to mention they are not sure if the transmission and the frame are messed up. The rear sub frame, the piece that holds the suspension together, broke clean in half. We don't know if the front failed and caused the back to fall apart, or if the back failed and caused the front to fall apart. To correct it they are just going to repair everything that needs to be fixed, most which are being replaced with used parts. The only physical injury that occurred was a big burn/cut i got from the side air bag going off. Plus, by replacing the pieces with used parts, how do they know it won't fail again? especially because they don't know what happened in the first place! thanks for your time.

I purchased a brand new 2007 toyota tundra two months ago. With less than 9,000 miles on bridgestone dueler tires, the left rear tire pretty much disintegrated while traveling on i10 at 75 miles per hour. The sidewall of the tire completely separated from the main part of the tire. There was no bang and the tires were properly inflated. It appears to be a manufacturing defect or a design flow. I kept the remains of the tire as well as the other three tires and purchased a set of 4 new tires of a different brand.

The contact owns a 2008 toyota tundra with bridgestone dueler tires. The contact stated that while having the tires rotated the local mechanic noticed that the tires were bald on the outer edges. The contact called the dealer who stated that the tires were bald due to an improper wheel alignment. The dealer also informed the contact to bring the vehicle in since the tires on the vehicle were original tires. The contact also noticed numerous complaints regarding the outer edge for his tire line and was concerned sincethe manufacturer had not provided a remedy. The failure mileage was 35,000 and the current mileage was 37,000.

Tire has extreme wear and cupping, very dangerous to drive on, however, bridgstone/firestone refuses to warranty defective tire and my vehicle has no front-end alignment problems.

The steering wheel started shaking while driving 55 mph. The consumer pulled to side of road and stopped, he checked all the tires and the noticed left rear tire had blown out and was shredded. The steel belt inside of tire was wrapped aroundthe tire. The vehicle was towed to schwabs, and all tireswere replaced.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, an extremely loud noise emitted from the rear of the vehicle on the outside. The contact was able to maneuver the vehicle to the side of the road and noticed that the tire tread completely separated on the rear passenger tire. The tire was replaced with a spare tire. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 93,500.

All four tires on the isuzu rodeo have cracks in the sidewall and tread. *mr the consumer noticed severe cracks in all of the treads/walls of all four tires and found that they dry rotted. *scc

Dt*: the contact stated while traveling 45 mph, the vehicle's rear passenger tire drove over a nail and lost air pressure.upon inspection, it was noticed that a dime size piece of rubber was missing along the middle of the tread.the vehicle was driven to a tire repair shop, who replaced the defective tire with a full size spare.the contact did not notice any vibration while driving prior to the incident.the tire manufacturer was contacted, and determined that the contact could have hit an object on the road, causing the tread separation.the service dealer was contacted, and provided no assistance.the contact expressed that the vehicle was not safe to drive, if a piece of tire ripped off so easily.the tire was a bridgestone dueler 684, size: p265/70r17.

The accident was caused by tire tread separation on the back passenger end.i was going 75 mph (the speed limit) on interstate 10 when the tread separated.i lost control of my suv (2001 isuzu rodeo) and nearly rolled it a few times, ended up spinning around and goingbackwards through the dirt median heading into oncoming traffic.i hit a tree, which saved my life.this event could have been very catastrophic.the tire was a bridgestone dueler 684.it was purchased 1/4/05, but it was technically 4 years old when i bought it new.the tire was actually manufactured in 2001. The rear end damage was repaired by a collision center and for fear of tire safety, i replaced all other bridgestone tires with michelin.

The contact owns a 2017 gmc sierra 1500 equipped with bridgestone dueler 684 tires, size: 255/70/17 (na). The contact took the vehicle to be serviced and was informed that the tires were peeling, cracking, and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to firestone complete auto care (located at 4835 lankershim blvd, north hollywood, ca 91601, (818) 824-5973) where it was diagnosed that the tires were safe. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact to take the vehicle to firestone. The approximate tire and vehicle failure mileage was 13,800.

While traveling at the speed limit on i-295 in jacksonville florida a bridgestone tire mounted on the left rear of my vehicle suffered a blow out. While blow outs do occur, in this instance the tread came completely of the tire prior to a very violent explosion of the tire. This caused extensive damage to my vehicle and loss of control. I have contacted bridgestone regarding this, and they have chosen to deny, and ignore the problem. The tire had plenty of tread and appeared in good condition. It was being operated at the correct pressure of 44lbs cold. I am extremely worried that bridgestone may be hideing a problem that good possably cost someone there life. My tires "squill" constantly upon any type of turn at a very low speed or turn.the squill sounds like i am turning fast at 80mph when in fact it is just a normal turn.i have taken my passport to honda, who says everything is up to "specifications" and the squill is from the heat of the pavement.i then took it to firestone, who says the noise is "very abnormal" and has offered to replace the tires for half price (price less 1/2 of usage).honda (downey, ca) stated they had experienced the same thing with 3 other passports and feel this is very normal.i have been driving for 30 years and have never experienced anything like this.my tires squill at every slight turn there is.

On march 3, 2006, i was traveling the posted speed limit on i-95 in martin county, florida in our 1999 honda crv.approximately 1-2 miles before the st. Lucie blvd. Exit, i noticed a very slight tremor or vibration? in the steering column.the tremor very gradually increased. About 1-2 miles past the st. Lucie west blvd. Entrance ramp, there was a loud bang and i saw large pieces of tire debris in the air near the rear of our vehicle.several vehicles swerved sharply to avoid our vehicle and the tire debris.i pulled onto the shoulder and upon examination found the right rear tire (facing forward) had completely lost all of its tread.the tire was still inflated so i was able to drive to a tire dealership on st. Lucie blvd. And purchase a new tire, however there was approximately $1,200 in damage to the crv.the tire had approximately 12,000 miles of use on it.the tires have always been maintained at the tire pressure recommended in the crv owner's manual and i checked the pressure immediately prior to this trip.our local honda technical service manager, the tire technician in port st. Lucie and a local firestone/bridgestone tire technician all agreed upon examination of the tire and the damage to our vehicle that the tire tread separation was in all probability due to the subject tire being defective.at bridgestone/firestone's request, i returned the damaged tire to them for testing and requested reimbursement for damage to my crv.they are claiming that i was at fault for their defective tire and that the tire had been "over or under deflated" for a period of time.despite repeated requests, they have failed to return the subject tire to me.

I was driving down the highway doing 60 miles an hour when my "bridgestone tire" separated at the tread and peeled off like abanana and i thought i was going to crash! the tire stayed intact and the bands with no deflation". I am concerned that this tire will be or was a recall. No accident luckily, no injury, luckily because it was on the back passenger. If it was on the front i would of been screwed for i was making a 60 mile an hour curve on thehighway with frequent traffic rush hour with a top heavy "isuzu-trooper".this tire needs to be investigated!!!!! never , at age 46 , seen a tire peel the tread off the radial belt like this like a retread! must someone die or be hurt before "bridgestone" is held accountable like in the year 2000 when they had multiple deaths and lawsuits? thank you , please help.

I drove on i-10la grange when the brake light came on. The car vibrated and tilted to the right. The front right tire tread peeled off and the tire blew. We reported this incident to bridgestone with case number 748575. The company sent me a letter and said it was pressure problem. But just before the tire blew, the pressure light was not on. So i believe the quality and safety is at issue. Please investigate it and recall the product, dueler h/t 684 ii p265/70r17. I bought the four tires about a year ago.

Blowout occurred on july 31, 2002 at approximately 4:45pm on route 2 in the east bound high speed lane. I felt the car vibrate. Before i was able to pull off the highway, the left rear tire blew out at approximately 65m.p.h. I swerved into the right lane and back into the left lane attempting to maintain control of the vehicle before it went into a 360 degree plus spin. The engine shut off and the vehicle rolled backward into the center median.

The tire had a complete blow out in such a way that the outside wall of the tire completely was cut out of the rest of the tire. The car was being driven on the wheel rim while i was trying to bring the car under control. The incident was reported to the emergency road service of isuzu. The road was a straight and well maintained piece of us84 approximately 15 miles outside of brownwood texas. (tiresize: p245/70r16)

Vehicle involved is a 1999 subaru forester l. Was driving approximately. 50 mph on a state highway. Road conditions were dry and road was smooth (no potholes). Heard a loud explosion from the right rear of my vehicle. I immediately came to a stop and pulled over to the side of the road. I observed that my tire had blown out, however there was no apparent damage to the tire. It was just flat. Tire is a bridgestone dueler h/t 684 p20570r15. The tire is approximately. 5 months old with approximately. 9k on it.*nlm

The front drivers side tire blew out while driving 75 mph which caused damage the wheel and the front end of the vehicle.*nlm

I was driving westbound on the western ky parkway on 10/13/2002 at about 2200.roads conditions were dry and temperature approx 55f.i experienced a sudden vibration, followed by the sound of a flat tire.i was able to safely slow ease my vehicle over into the emergency lane (right shoulder).i definitely had a flat.upon inspection i was horrified.the tire was smoking to the point i barely see it.i could smell burning tire.i did not see any flame and the smoke quit within about 20-30 seconds.the side wall of this tire was blown out, nearly separated and hanging by tire cord.it looks exactly like another i saw at the following link: http://www.firestone-tire-recall.com/pages/accident_reports/9-20_tire-blow.html.my tire failure is exactly the same cut out shape, the same cut out size and and same cut out location as the one pictured, except mine is hanging by tire cord.i'm amazed this happened.more amazed it's been happening.i have been driving 32 years, i never seen a tire failure like this.i feel blessed to have arrived home with 2 fifteen year old boys.mr

Five tires are original equiptment at time of purchase.the tire that failed was only in use since aproximately january 27, 2001.the mileage on the spare isunder 6000 of daily city driving and about five trips of over 240 miles. The failed tire lost its entire tread like a banana peeling on a california interstate 5 northbound and was not recovered.thetread caused damage to the right front wheel well and bumper and right door panel. For reasons that only our god almighty knows, the tire did not blow out and the steel thread held in place.neither the honda dealership or bridgestone dealer at sears store had any warnings on this bridgestone tire model experiencing tread separation.i have done some limited internet checking regarding firestone/bridgestone tires but have not found this model on any list as yet. I share this information so that if any other incidents with this model arise or have already been shared, this product should be scrutinezed for safety hazard concern.the tire was properly inflated. The sears representative will report the incident to bridgestone for resolution of tire failure.if i can be of further assistance, please contact me.thank you very much. On may 21, 2002 while driving at the speed of approximately 30 miles per hour my two right bridgestone bueler h/t d689 tires blew out.as a result of that the vehicle went out of control and collided with the ground.the tires were replaced but it was then determined that a brand new frame was needed as a result of the collsion with the ground. Police did report to the scene and determined that there was no debris in the road to cause the blow out.i do have that police report. The car is still in the shop. This was the inboard tire of a pair on the right rear of the vehicle.while traveling on interstate 70 eastbound out of kansas city it exploded, splitting the steel belts crosswise.except for the area of the blowout the tire remained relatively intact and did not separate.the ambient temperature at the time was approximately 85 degrees f.no road hazzards were observed or felt prior the the explosion.tire pressures had been checked 30 mile earlier and were 60-65 psi per vehicle manual. Protruding belts struck the sewage holding tank knocking a corner out of it and spilling cargo on the highway.vehicle was brought to a stop on outboard tire without accident.tire was purchased on 8/5/99 in temple texas from firestone store #007196-4361, had approximately 6000 miles on it over some extremely hot roads.a replacement tire (cooper tire) was purchased from higginsville tire servicehigginsville mo 64037660-584-2504.higginsville dealer examined tire and said that he could not identify any trauma in area of blowout and presumably gave credit based on 70 percent tread wear(which seemed excessive to me).no credit was documented on the invoice but tire was cheaper than i would have expected and cheaper than the one that blew up. (tiresize: 215/85/r16)( dot number: tire size: 215/85/r16 )

This vehicle has had a vibration since the day i picked it up.i was told to drive the vehicle for 1500 miles to 'round out' the tires at which point the dealership would rebalance the tires.this has been done and the problem persists.the steering column between the back of the steering wheel and the actual column emits a scraping noise.this vehicle is replacing a 2000 model that was returned to isuzu for the same conditions.the dealer replaced a part called a 'clock spring' in the 2000 model to fix the steering noise but it was ineffective.the dealer also repeatedly rebalanced the tires and eventually replaced the tires on the 2000 model none of which corrected the problem.the vehicle is also surging under acceleration.this problem is to be addressed this week.my primary concern is the vehicles safety at highway speeds.the vibration is prevalant in the steering wheel and the body of the vehicle and doesnt seem safe. Tread separation on bridgeston dueler h/t 684 while traveling on a highway at 55 mph, left front tire separated from tread and caused extensive damage to bumper, fender, head light.

Driver had just turned off interstate and entered a mall parking lot when tire blewout.approximately a 3 inch break, showing the metal belts, occurred.break ran accross tread from center of tread to outside of tread near sidewall.

Front tires cause car to vibrate above 60 mph; sometimes enough to cause me to deccelerate; vibration problem started last year; tires continually go out of balance; firestone dealer says they can't see anything wrong with them; goodyear dealer said the tires wobble on their balancing machine and should be replaced; firestone says they can't do anything for me and say there must be something wrong with the vehicle.

In two separate incidences, on 9/26/2000 and 03/30/2001, an original bridgestone tire supplied with a newly leased subaru forester had a blowout while driving at highway speeds. We regularly check tire pressure, and all pressures were on specifications, 29psi front and 36psi rear. Yet they blew out. Luckily the driver had both hands on the steering wheel, and the car could be stopped safely, without human damages. In the blowout on 03/30/2001, however, the rim sustained damages and had to be replaced as well as the tire. In both cases the blowout was through the sidewall, and not as a result of any puncture. In both cases the tire simply exploded from the inside, from what appears to be a bubble, possibly formed by a separation of the radial windings. (dot number: 274tiresize: 205/r75/15)

The tire was ripped inside and the in 10 miles moreitblow outat 45 mph.sears willnotreplaced.it was not my fault this time. I remembered thati drove up on the new pavement roadto the top of hill. I felt that the left rear tire silpped very fast in one turn.then i checked it to make it was not flat.i continued to drive back to my place.about 10 or 15 miles later that tire blow out.due to my deafness i could not hear it blow out.i kept driving about another three or five miles before we stopped for drinks.i looked at that tire flat already. It was damaged badly becauseboth edge were wore out of thread. I believed that i had invisible tear inside the tire.there was no way i can see.at last i noticed the teared rubber splitted apart from the sleet belt.it just look likethe firestone tire problem.if i drive in high speed ( more 55 mph)at that time, my family may be hurted and killed as my van rolled over if possible.<end of comments).

We were driving straight at 70 mph on i-35; all tires were properly inflated; there were no obstructions or debris in the roadway; without warning, the left rear tire came apart.the tread came off of the tire, wrapped around the axle while the wheel kept turning.from what i've read on your site, this appears to be exactly the same as the firestone/explorer problems.

On saturday, march 13, 2004, at approximately 12:00 driving on the east bound long island expressway ohe of the tires on my 1997 nissan pathfinder shredded/came apart the tire is a bridgestone dueler ht 265/70/15 # elekdcl1100. I just purchased the truck one month ago, and from what i was told at the bridgeston/firestone dealer the tire is only 3 years old. 3 year old tires should wear down not come apart. I was traveling at 50 mph and was able to control the vehicle until i was able to come to a stop on the shoulder. My truck sustained major damage to the front 1/4 panel, door, wheel well molding, the aluminum wheel and running board. I havepictures of the damage. This vehicle helps to allow me to make a living and i cannot afford to be without it for an extended period of time. Please forward this to the appropriate department to help me resolve this as quickly as possible. I contacted bridgestone and was given the run around and can only hope this can be resolved in the next 30 days or so, which is very hard for me to accept. If you can give/forward any further information to me i would appreciate it. I can also be reached at 631-463-9084. Thank you for handling this in an expedient mannerpaul balsamo .

1 tire has a radial pull, and 1 tire causes vibrations in the steering.the tires have been balanced and rotated.the vibrations go away when the bad tires are rotated to the rear.i have noticed numerous other people are having the same problems with these tires.i did not find any recall on them and the manufacturer will not replace or proate the tires since they are worn past 2/32".is this true, is there any recourse with the tire company? Complete tire failure.while travelling at highway speed noticed tire vibration.within 10 seconds of hearing the noise the tire completely failed-- the tire was in 3 peices: the two sidewalls were hanging on the rim and the entire tread area was separated from them (the tread area remained in one solid piece).the tires were original equipment on the car, which is only7 months old.the mileage on them was 10000.

Police did report to the scene and could find no debris in the road to cause the blow out. My car is still in the shop. It has been there since may 21, 2002.thank youdt

Dueler h/t 684 bridgestone tire on right rear of my honda crv 03, tread separated while driving off exit ramp on freeway.there was no warning.tire pressure had been checked less than two weeks before.there was plenty of tread left on tire.the tire just fell apart while i was driving.honda dealer referred me to firestone dealer who referred me to a corporate firestone dealer who gave me a claim number to call.i expect if i call they will prorate the tire and sell me another to put on the car.my feeling is that these tires are not safe and i need to replace them before another falls apart and not with bridgestone or firestone tires.

The rightside rear tire blew out while driving on the interstate highway. There was no road hazard, clear roadway, and the driver did not strike any obstacles. There are no objects in the tire tread. Upon going flat, the driver immediately pulled over to the right side from the center lane and stopped as soon as possible. This did cause major sidewall damage due to the short ride on the deflated tire. The tire and vehicle are brand new with less than 3,000 miles. Dealer said that this was not their responsibility and sent me to the tire dealer. Bridgestone tire dealer said that due to the damage to the sidewall, he could not determine the cause of the tire failure, therefore, no warranty could be enforced. Bridgestone is the sister of firestone which has been having major problems with tires on suv's. This may be related???? had this been a front tire, a major accident may have resulted. We are very concerned about the safety of the vehicle and reliability of the tires. (tiresize: p245/70r16)

I had to make an emergency stop in the center of the freeway @ the el toro "y". (center section between the 5 and 405 interchange). The steel belt had completely separated from the tire. The rear tire also exploded when it followed over the curb. In previous events both right side tire blew out in two separate times while my son was returning from college on the taconic parkway in new york. 4 out of five is a great baseball average but a lousy tire score for failures due to blowouts.

Three different instances of tire failure: 1) bump of sidewall into curb at 10 mph resulted in hole in sidewall requiring replacement of the tire (occurred after 3 months of use). 2) "blow-out" of sidewall of a tire at 60 mph - required replacement of tire (after about 25,000 miles of use). 3) puncture of tire while driving over dirt/rocky road (public road - not "off-road") at 15-20 mph after 25,000 miles of use (able to be repaired). The tires showed signs of cracking around the wheel contact area after only 17000 miles of use. As a precaution ireplaced these tires with new michelin tires. The nhtsainfo advisedbridgestone would reimburse the cost of replacement. As an initial action, i had requestied a total reimbursement of the cost involved in the amount of $531.77. The subject tires were inspected by their authorized dealer on 2/14/03 and found to have cracks as stated above. Bridgestones (case file 534305) responded with an offer of $100 coupon only because they claim that the tires were manufactured in 1994, tires were not rotated at a dealership but they will not certify that the tire are safe to use. Because the tires are showing cracks at similar areas on all the tires, i feel that the cracks are due to manufacturing defect and bridgestone should at least reimburse the cost of replacement.

The first instance 2 years ago was catastrophic and caused $2300 in damage to the left rear of the car.last week the car suddenly started vibrating.inspection of the tires showed a large bubble under the tread of the right front tire.one of the defective tires was original equipment and the other tire was purchased as one of 4 replacement tires.the tires had 40-50,000 miles on them but still had plenty of tread remaining.there was no uneven wear on the tread.

Non-catastrophic belt separation: large bulge in tread. <40,000 miles on tire. Jcs.

Tread separation occurred on the freeway for 1 tire and when we reached final destination there was excessive vibration on the other 3 tires.sears called bridgstone and they gave us credit as they were cracking and buldging and in bad shape.when we tried to seek compensation for the damage the tire caused the vehical bridgstone refused stating that the tire had to have been struck by something which is not relevant.

We purchased a 2005 honda crv in july of 2005, which came with bridgestone dueler h/t 684 215/65r16 98t tires. Dealership has inspected the car every yr. Since then.at inspection in sept. Of 2007, there were 13,180 miles on the 2 year old vehicle with the original tires.no problem indicated by serviceman with tires at that time.over christmas of 2007, 3 mos. Later, my daughter and her husband sat in the back seat of the vehicle, and noticed a loud noise from the area of the tires.next day husband tookcar todealership to be checked out.instead, dealer setappt. For tues. Jan. 8, 2007.in between those 2 times, vehicle had an oil change atjiffy lube.the serviceman at the jif. Lube stated front tires were worn and needed immediate replacement--interesting since all other dealership oil changes performed mentioned no tire wear.at the appt. On jan.8, 2008 [valley honda, 4221 william penn highway, monroeville, pa 15146--ph:412-373-3000] a mechanic inspected the tires on vehicle, which now had 15,730 miles on them, the mechanic informed me the steel belts inside of the back tires were broken!he asked about the use of the vehicle for various purposes to which i responded no on all accounts.in addition, if we had hit a hole hard enough to break the steel belts in both of the back tires, one would think the car would be out of alignment, which it is not.no explanation from the dealership as to why the front tires were so badly worn and no explanation as to why the wear on the front tires was never noticed by their servicemen.the dealership stated "there is no warranty on those tires" but, offered to sell us 4 brand new yamaha tires at $89.41 + $13.50 for installation per tire, plus tax, plus a fee to dispose of the old tires.so far these tires have not failed, but we are scared to death to drive the vehicle on the parkway, turnpike, freeway, or any high speed road for fear of a tire failure that might cause an accident & injury.

Rear tire on the passenger's side is missing a big chunk of tread all the way down to the caucus. Tire size p24570r16. Original tire equipment on 2000, rodeo. There is only 2,000 miles on the tire. Bridgestone states that defect is due to road damage. Please provide any further information.

The contact owns a 2001 honda cr-v.while driving 55 mph, thevehicle began to shutter and shake.upon stopping the vehicle, the contact observed the tire tread peeling from the tire.the tire did not flatten.the tire was a bridgestone dueler 684, size 205/70r15.the purchase date was unknown.the current and failure mileages were 50,000.

I was traveling s/b fry 99 at kimberlina rd, just north of bakersfleldcalif. I was in the center lane traveling at a speed of approx 70 to 75 mph.at this time i heard a loud "thud" against the left door of my 1998 isuzu amigo, the tread on the left front tire had separatedand had struck the side of my vehicle. The type of tire on my vehicle is a brigestone dueler. The tread separation caused severe damage to my vehicle. The estimates are between $1700 to $2100 dollars. The tread put three dents on the drivers door, broke of the driver side mirror, broke the bumper, knocked the left front fender out of line, damaged the mug guards and other protective shield under the left front wheel well.the tire did not deflate,& i was able to come to a slowstop on a very active fast roadway.i contacted firestone/bridgestone and filed a consumer complainti completed the required paperwork and sent them photos of the damage to my vehicle. I also acquired the estimates and sent them my tire at my own expense. They have since rejected my complaint stating theseparation was my fault causedmy low tire pressure. I disagree.this tire was original equipment purchased with the vehicle. This tire was the spare and had only approx 5 to 7000miles on the tire. My vehicle receives regular maintenance and the tires were recently rotated. The tire pressure is checked / balanced and the pressure checked.i personally inspected the vehicle prior to taking this trip.all i ask is that i am reimbursed for the damage sustained to my vehicle and my tires be replaced with a make/brand of my own choosing.i have effected some of the repairs to the vehicle include the tire, and mirror these are necessary to keep the vehicle on the road. I was forced to purchase another bridgestone tire in order stay consistent with the other tires on the vehicle.i no longer feel safe with the bridgestone products i would like to replace all five tires on the vehicle. To include the spare.

May 19, 2003 at 6:30pm - bridgestone dueler h/t tire blew out; tire separated from tread and flew back and hit another vehicle. Took remaining parts of tire into firestone and was told by a representative "i can warranty out the damaged tire as a defect, but cannot replace other three tires - they look fine". I explained the other tire was "fine" until it blew out on the highway, i was shocked that he was willing to warranty the damaged tire as a defect, but would not replace the other tires of the same make and model. I have pictures of the damaged tire and compared it to other blow outs which have caused fatal accidents and found my tire looks exactly like other blow outs. The police officer who showed up to the accident did not take a report but did say that even at high speeds or laying a spike strip down would not cause a blow out like this and suspected a defect.

The tread on the left rear tire suddenly separated from the core and destroyed the rear quarter section of our 2001 honda passport. The tires were bridgestone dueler 684's and were oem on the passport. Damage was in excess of $ 3,000.

I noticed as i went to inflate my tires on my vehicle. That my bridgstone, dueller ii, d684z, dot#7x-9l-poa-0603, p245/70/r16.that the tire has cracks and appears to have tread separation.

A bridgestone tire that was 14 months old and had only 14,000 miles separated causing a 2 foot section to peel off and damage the vehicle almost causing an accident.

My 2003 toyota highlander has only 20600 miles on it.i have noticed that all 4 bridgestone dueller h/ t p225 70r 16 tires are so worn out that i am having trouble stopping in the rain.i am going to replace all 4 tires but i believe that this of concern since i do maintain the tires at proper inflation and they have been rotated at least twice. The wear is equal on all 4 tires.this tires where rated for at least 60,000 miles and to only get a third of that and the expense is terrible. I have also noticed this on other highlanders and even rav4s.

Rr tire deflated rapidly while in heavy traffic - wall of tire ripped open near treads, not sure if this is related to tread separation.- (tiresize: p235/75)

While traveling 65 mph on dry road conditionspassenger's side replacement equipment bridgestone, dueler tire, size lt26575r16 with twenty-two thousand miles on them had tread separation.damage to vehicle was estimated at thirty-five hundred dollars.
