While traveling on the highway, the right front tire blewout, causing the driver to lose control of her vehicle.the vehicle went into the median and became airborne (rolling over several times) about 4-5 more times on the ground, hit a semi-truck traveling on the opposite side of the road, finally coming to a rest.also, with the force of the impact on the sides of the vehicle, particularly the driver side, it would seem to be strong enough to activate the side airbags, yet the saftey feature did not perform, bridgestone dueler h/t. *scc

The impact of this accident should have deployed airbag, however did not. (dot number: 085upto299tiresize: 215/65r15)

The contact owns a 2008 toyota prius.while driving 10 mph, the front driver's side tire went flat.the contact replaced the tire with a spare.the vehicle then began experiencing numerous failures.the instrument panel gauges illuminated and the odometer began to fail.the dealer stated that it would take a few days to diagnose the cause of the failure.days later, the mechanic explained that there was an issue with the computer system not recognizing the oversized tires.the mechanic placed the regular size tire back on the vehicle, which corrected the issue.the contact is concerned that the spare tire could cause dangerous driving conditions if it ever needed to be used again.the current and failure mileages were 14,500. I have had problems with the car since i own the car.dealer replaced gas tank once, but it was with a rusty tank, problems with safety belts going out of shape, as well as the brakes not working or crumbling. Need replacement often. See other issues.( dot number: tire size: 195r14 )

I have had trouble the las 6 months trying to track down the problem with my truck and it all seems to be electrical ignition systems.replaced ignition twice and big box for electric switching on left side under hood by firewall.it stops going down the road and won't stay running and my sons 81 bronco is doing the same thing also.the oil pressure is real low in town when i stop and start.the truck dies and won't start for a while.i have spent over a thousand dollars trying to figure it out and no one seems to know.right now they can't get my sons 81 bronco to stay running and haveing trouble getting it to start.what happened to the recall and why did ford skimp on my favorite vehicle.i never had trouble with my 73 and i drove it for 15 years.i want some answers.thank you leona thomason.(tiresize: 16 inch lt)

My 2003 camry had been great since the date of purchase. Only had 2 problems with the car, one minor the other was major.i have 25000 miles on the car, and both the front tires were bare.i was able to see all the treads from the tires.the major problem i got was my camry caught on fire and melted the entire engine.i'd pulled up to the parking lot at work, and 20 minutes later, i was notified that my engine was on fire.spoke with fire department and they said it looks like faulty/malfunction wire/cables.not sure if toyota knows of this, but now i'm left w/o a car until m insurance figures everything out.toyota should be notify in case there was a defect in the 2003 models.

This car is so unsafe i well no longer drive it ! this car has had theengine, rearend, ac, tranmission, convertable top rear window & alienment problaims, waer on tires front and back, two water pumps, two timing chains, fuil pump, whiper motor, fly wheel came off car. All failed after factury warrenty & extended ended. Most of these repairs where complained about when the car was under warrenty but was tould that nothing could be done about the problaims or they were normal for mustangs .have had to rebuld this car all at my cost and ford say's there was nothing wrong with the car from factery. Now i can not make the payments on the car because the repairs have been so high.( dot number: tire size: re92205/65 )

Bumpy/vibration felt at 35+ mph, smooths out to some degree above 45 until you reach 60+.vibration above 60 feels as if you may not have steering control. A/ccontrol lever does not open/close completely.a/c froze under dash on passenger side, would not cool, water discharged into floor board.does not adequately cool interior in direct sun with tempts. Above 85. Gear shifter sometimes (sporadic) jams - problem appears to deal with 2nd gear (sometimes 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 2nd).when it jams it feels as if something is hitting rubber (no noise) and you have to force shifter into place.i have had to stop and release and repress clutch and move shifter around on at least two occasions.this has happened to other drivers as well. It does happen sporadically, can most often be forced into gear at this time, service dept. Can't find anything. After four trips to service dept. 2 tires replaced (flat spots), rotation, spin balance, and alignment have been checked.vibration still recurring problem. Vehicle also pulls to the right. Replaced control switch and lever after freeze up of a/c.replaced a resistor after 2nd eposide of water in floor.still does not cool properly.( dot number: )

I previously submitted a complaint (nvs-216 mec; ref. No. 10130172) concerning the failure of 3 rims/wheels and two tires on my 2006 mercedes cls55. Since that time with less than 11,000 miles on the car there has been an additionalfailure offour more rims andfour more tires. This is a total of 7 rims and tires in less than 7 months.

I have a 2001 pontiac grand am that i bought from the dealership in august 2002 in less than a year my turn signals stopped working niether power window will work , the tires have had to been replaced, and the speakers have had to be replaced.this care has only 52,000 miles on it and has been well maintained.now, the front wheels of the car are making a horrendous noise that my mechanic can not figure out what it is.i have had problems with this car from the day i bought it and i will never buy another pontiac!!!what can i do?*la

Brakes squeal on normal braking.back tires spin on dry road and squeal like someone is "peeling out". Brakes seem to ride low to the floor and barely stop the vehicle when having to stop quickly. Besides that, they make the truck keep on rolling even though the brakes are being applied . It's like the computer in the brake system detects nothing when you try to stop, i've had some very near misses as far as accidents are concerned. I just paid this monster off now everything is going wrong.

Consumer took vehicle into dealer to have a wheel alignment, tire rotation and balancing performed, when consumer returned home he performed his routine maintenance and discovered that all four (bridgestone dual at d693 31x10.50 15lt6) tires had between 45 and 50 psi but the recommended vehicle manufacturer's pressure is 26 psi consumer returned vehicle back to dealer because they must have over inflated tires, consumer asked for written documentation that higher pressures should be used, because as stated on the door plate of vehicle jamb it says 26 psi, dealer advised consumer that firestone had been running ads about the correct pressures for these types of vehicle's, however dealer did checked a firestone manual which indicated that tire pressure should be 26 psi, consumer inquired as to why he was never informed of the recommendations mechanic then handed him a brochure entitled inflate rotate evaluate that clearly stated look for the manufacturer's recommended air pressure listed on the sticker of your vehicle's door jamb, after consumer pointed out that the delaer's recommendation and the brochure were totally inconsistent the dealer lost his temper and ordered the consumer out of the store.

Tire pressure monitoring system does not work.three times in the last 2 years i found zero tire pressure in one of the tires on our 2004 toyota sienna xle awd and the tire pressure monitoring system gave absolutely no warning.reporting it to 2 different toyota dealers, they said nothing is wrong.

I purchased a s-type jaguar 2003 june 11, 2002 from park place jaguar houston, texas, i took the car in before 5,000 mile check up and complained about the brakes, a few months later took the car in for 5,000 mile check up complained about the brakes was told that i need a master cylinder, car was left with the dealership for a week. Months later the brake light came on and would not go off.jaguar from national sent a wrecker to pick up the car and delivered it to park place jaguar for repair. The car was in the shop for a week again. Had a tire to wear out due to faulty brakes, still nothing was done regarding the breaks, i was under the impression that the brakes had been fixed until january 11,2006 when i took the car in for it's 30,000 miles check up at 29,415 and was informed by zackadams the service advisor that i needed new brakes and it would be $585.36 i thank god that zag finally saw the problem needed fixing.for the repair, i have receipts upon your request for the many of times the brakes were addressed for the warranty was over, it is evidenced that i was sold a car with faulty brakes. And jaguar failed to provided me with the safety of my car for 2 1/2 years. If i had been a driver that rode the brakes constantly on the highway, i would be a fatality person.jaguar was negligent in repairing my car safely and refuses to own up to their failure. Also the poorly quality of tires that ialso reported to the service department and was not helped. I purchased new tires from discount services for $539.09.the car was not safe and a traffic hazard, i contacted them several times regarding issue with car. It should not been 2 1/2 years to ge breaks repair when i started complaining 2 months after the purchased of the car.

Squeak noise intermittent when first obtained vehicle.adjustments made periodically under warranty ( to dashboard etc.) noise seemed to go away but always came back.noise became louder, and more like a creaking noise, when at low speeds or over bumps when brake is not being pressed. Took vue in while under 49,700 miles, visual inspection found front stabilizer links to be noisy.i declined them repairing it as they would not replace fro free or discount, even with such low mileage, and noise has been present.i stopped taking it to the dealer after warranty was up as they have a reputation in town to not work with the customer.lateral links were already replaced under warranty, i feel the stabilizer links should be replaced free also, with such low mileage.i will take it to a mechanic and have it down, for my own safety, but i feel i deserve reimbursement for that as well as the front and rear brakes i just had put on and front wheel bearing!i also had to replace all 4 tires on car due to wear, and car had less than 4500 miles on it.

Update on 10192218 and 10192426.2007 grand prix gxp dealer attempted repairtransmission. Per gms tech support, dealer pulled transmission, replaced final drive gears , and bearings.problem not resolved. Dealer then replaced transmission, but with gm re-manufactured"part.also, dealer stated they could not obtain a brand new transmission for any repair because thefactory savednew transmissionsfor the production line vehicles.15 days at dealer.and was told car ready for pick-up.drove the car around the parking lot andnoticed gear shift did not lock into place in any gear but manual.reverse, didn't work, and transmission shifted itself into neutral going down an incline.brought vehicle immediately back to dealer, who had to replace both front bridgestone tiresdue to out of round and irregular wear. Latest set of tires were also defective, ordered two new bridgestone'sunder warranty.secondset of replacement tires did not help. Dealer told me there was nothing wrong with the replacement transmission, despite drive line shuddering. Dealer stated operatedasdesigned.

While driving the front tires (bridgestone 205/70 r15 95s all season tires traction rating b) loose traction on damp pavement and spin upon gradual acceleration from a stop with two or three attempts needed to move forward, the traction problem may be a combination of traction b tires and the high engine/transmission torque.nlm

We have contacted toyota and the dealership and they are unwilling to see any of these things as safety hazards. Especially door locks, tires, seatbelts. And we were never told the vehicle was serviced before we purchased it "brand new"in 1997. We found that out in error at the dealership (al hendrickson toyota) when they accused us of not servicing our vehicle. The suv was clearly a lemon all along. We took the vehicle to be serviced but the dealership conveniently has no records of us, even when provided with documented proof (receipts). There computer says "we did not come into service our vehicle." the 1997 4-runner is a safety hazard. (dot number: n/atiresize: p265/70r16)

Tires are too small and tread is inadequate for inclement driving conditions, brakes lock up too quickly, causing the front end to dip foward, resulting inloss of control.( dot number: dma518 tire size: p235/r16 )

Premature wearing of both front brakes and tires (both needed to be replaced by 15,000 miles).

At low speeds near intersections with light snow or slush on the road vehicle's abs system causes loss of stopping ability and loss of directional control. Partial or complete loss of braking and/or directional control at stop signs and on slick roads. Premature activation of abs system in snowy and slushy conditions. Potential consequences include striking pedestrians, leaving the road unexpectedly and stopping in not before an intersection. Dealer inspected braking system and stated that it is performing as intended. Dealer further documented that oem tires had low traction rating causing abs system to operate incorrectly in certain driving conditions.in particular abs causes drastically increased stopping distance with loss of directional control with oem bridgestone dueller h/t 687 tires with 7/32 tread depth and correct inflation pressure. Dealer states that tires should be changed to improve drivability and abs function in snow and ice conditions. Bridgestone dueller h/t 687 tires will be replaced with a different brand. These tires will be put in storage and will be available.

Abs fails after going over minor bumps and all pressure in the brake system is lost soon after.driver must completely disengage brake and then reapply to begin slowing down again.

The brakes on this vehicle is inadequate for the weight plus the anti lock system doesnt help either it only causes more lost of braking power especially on down hill stops.toyota made these vehicles with two different size front brake calipers.unfortunatly i have the smallest one which just does do a good job stopping such a load.( dot number: )

I bought a toyota rav-4 sport in january 2009.it is a v-6 with the run flat tires.in july, i purchased a new, very expensive computerized sewing machine--one that i had hoped to be able to buy for a long, long time.it was just over $1400.00.i placed it in the back of my rav and drove home.i swung open the tailgate, not thinking i had to peak inside first.the sewing machine fell right out of the car unto the cement garage floor.i was devastated.then i thought how lucky i was that my foot or my small dog was not injured.a toddler or an infant in an infant seat would have been seriously injured.i remain concerned about the computer in my sewing machine.my husband, knowing how upset i was, and seeing that there was a serious problem, cut a 2x4 and wedged it in along the edge, thus preventing my groceries and everything else from falling right out of the car as i opened the door.the other concern i have about this car is that there are no run-flat snow tires available and we live in an area that is hilly, with a lot of snow.the so-called, "all-weather," do not have enough tread for our terrain.

The contact owns a 2007 chevrolet tahoe.while driving 25 mph, each door on the vehicle made cracking noises when decelerating or driving on jagged roads.the dealer stated that the failure was unrecognizable and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a mechanic.the mechanic applied lubricant to correct the failure, but the noises returned.the current mileage was 18,000 and failure mileage was 320. The consumer stated did have tire problem, tires were cracking and coming apart. The dealer replaced all 4 tires. Updated 09/19/07

From the time i bought my crv i notice that the steering wheel pull to the right at all time. I send it back 3 times at the honda dealer and they check the alignment and it is perfect, they switches the tires and it still the same, they told me that it is natural to all crv due to the tork drive system design. The last time i send it back to my dealer he drives it and told me that there is nothing wrong with my car.i took a video with me and show it many time to the manager of honda, the crv pull to the right and the manager told me that i am not the only one who complain about it.i could not trust to drive this dangerous car with my 9 month old son.

I purchase a new chevrolet suburban in june 2004 from priority chevrolet in chesapeake virginia. At about 4000 miles i noticed the inside edges (about 1 inch wide) on the front tires were wearing more than the rest of the tire surface, i called the service department of the dealership and they told that while they are aware of the problem with uneven tire wear on suburbans that it is not a warranty covered item. I took the vehicle to firestone and they told me the cambers needed to be adjusted. The tires on the front continue to wear faster on the inside edges than the rest of the tire surface. I am very diligent about service of my 3 automobiles. If this is a persistent problem with suburbans as it was stated to me, my concern is that the uneven tire wear is an accident waiting to happen. These potential tire failures need to be brought to the attention of general motors. Even if an accident does not occur these tires are not cheap. Once the inside wear becomes bad enough the tires will not pas inspection thus creating a cost to the vehicle owner at a premature time. I feel this is a dangerous situation which needs to be brought to the attention of gm.

I was traveling east on interstate 80 between the ca/nv border and east reno. In two instances i encountered pavement that was grooved (in the direction of the road). I was initially traveling at about 65 mph. I was driving a new 2006 buick lucerne v-8vin ig4he5y76u157759 with bridgestone turanza el 400 tires. When i drove on the grooved pavement, i almost lost control of the car because the front wheels wobbled so badly that it force the car to weave and it was difficult to hold the steering wheel steady. This happened in the area west of reno in the mountains and again in an area in reno where the pavement was also grooved. Normally, this car is remarkably steady, so this was a totally unexpected and disconcerting incident. Fortunately, when i slowed to 45 mph i was able to control the car better until i passed that section of pavement.

I've had to have the front end aligned twice now & upon having it in for the 3rd time, i was told that the lower right ball joint was out.this is why i've gone throw 2 sets of tires already, needing the 3rd set.i've had problems trying to find the ball joint.this is just one of the many problems i have had with my truck.the transmission still does not shift right.i've been told by 2 different dealers that i am in the computer so if anything does happen, it will be taken care of.i ran across a web site that discusses the problems other dakota owners are experiencing & i know what they are going through.this is the 1st brand new vehicle i have ever owned & i've had more problems with it than i ever had any ot the others i have owned. I own a 2002 camry se, and it came originally equipped with bridgestone turanzas on it. These tires are worthless in the snow and rain. I took my complaint to the toyota dealer, and they said that the tires were "performance" tires and all they could do was help me get a discount on another set of tires. That is not acceptable, as this type of (family) car should not have come equipped with a dangerous tire. I complained to the bridgestone dealer as well, and they told me that these were very hard tires, and are the typethat would normally be put on a corvette, or similar sports car. I was forced to replace the tires at my expense, with only 21,000 miles on them. The car would not stop in the snow, and would slip at takeoff in the rain as well. These tires should have never been put on this car. I am disappointed that toyota would put this type of tire on a camry.*nlm

Bridgestone driveguard tires are extremely susceptible to sidewall damage from potholes! i have 225 45 18 tires on my 2012 camry. This is the fourth tire i've had the sidewall fail the exact same way since buying them 2 years ago. This time it was while pulling up to a stop sign at maybe 20 mph. Every time there is a 3 to 4 inch cut along the bead of the tire through the cords. I work for firestone and have seen the same pattern many times on various car, not paying attention to size. Slow leak in bridgestone tire.*skd

I had to replace the tires on my 2009 camry at around 25,000 miles.the low pressure tire light came on after i had just had it serviced.the master mechanic at work check the tire pressure and each tire was 8 - 10 pounds low on pressure. I took it to toyota in north augusta, sc and the rude service manager told me that when i had it serviced a top technical signed off as rotating and airing the tires and that had it been another technician he might believe they didn't air the tires. He only aired the tires, didn't check valve stems or for tire defects.the light kept coming on and i went back a couple more times i believe. He finally determined making the statement "this is common.since it was my second camry i disagreed with him and then he responded "it is common in this model". He said you could drive out of here right not and it might come on again.....i replied "i'm not buying this and left". The light did come back on within the week or two. I looked at my front tires and was shocked! the front tires were worn out with hardly no tread left on them. I immediately took it to a tire dealer and replaced the "firestone bridgestone" tires with another brand of tire...........that has been nearly 5,000 ago and the light has never turned on. There is a definite defect here with the car of tire dealer. Tires should last a long longer than 20,000to 25,000 miles on a new car especially. If others are experiencing this problem, toyota needs to be reimbursing car owners for replacement tires....maybe they purchased defective parts at a low cost just like they did with the brakes....had i not taken care of the tire problem it could have resulted in a blow out and endangering of my life and others.the service manager was extremely rude and did not make any attempt to research for an existing problem, which became evident after a few trips in there. His and toyota's disregard for safety has really changed my opinion of toyota.

These tires are purportedly good for 3 years or 70,000 miles.they are also suppose to be good up to 112 mph.however, when the previous owner learned of our wreck , he provided me with receipts which showed that two other tires from the original four failed at 153,240 miles and 143,911 miles.he originally bought them at 106562 miles.these tires are touted as good for 70,000 miles and they are going to get someone killed.marvin morris at 281-579-2174 witnessed the tire shredding as did kawal patel at 281-575-4360 (also 281-693-2353). Vehicle began to vibrate and steering became difficult.my spouse stopped the vehicle on the side of the road to look for a problem.she found that air was escaping the front left tire out of the sidewall.she then drove the car to a safe stopping point and called for roadside assistance.it was found that the sidewall had blown out on the front left tire.the vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer and was replaced.it was found that the rim was not damaged.the sidewall of the bridgestone ecopia tire had failed after 5,800 miles.we were charged $183 for the repair despite the car being less than 6 months old.

On august 9,2001 a left rear tire disintegrated at 60mph.the bridgestone firestone representative(after contending that it was not a manufacturing defect) agreed to replace the tire (still under warrantee - about half the tread left).we had been experiencing a slow leak on the right front and on the day of the failure had been in the shop to be told that nothing could be detected in the rf tire - pressure had been checked on the rear.subsequently we continued to loose air in the rf tire and experience a shimmy in the car.we took it to a competitior who in checking the tire discovered significant delamination on the inside edge tread of the tire.in addition the remaining two tires also showed signs of delamination of tread and belt.we switched to winter tires early and i have the suspect tires in my possession.a call to the district manager of bridgestone-firestone indicated no interest in checking on the potential for a defect or compensation consistent with the warranty.because all four tires from that set delaminated in the same place and in the same way and at the same time i am highly suspicious of a manufacturing defect.the company already has a track record of failure and my experience with personnel indicates complete disregard for the safety issues, even after the previous problems.i am concerned that others who may not be as vigilant about tires could fall victim to auto accidents.can something be done.i will retain the tires for inspection pending your interest in the issue.thank you. My bridgestone ecopia ep 422 tires wore out after only 32,000 miles even though they are advertised as warrantied for 65,000 miles.the bridgestone dealer gave me a reference # 112-95-47 and sent me to a dealer.the dealer measured the tires at 4-4-0 and stated that the warranty would not cover because the inside edges of all four tires were bald.he stated that, "it looks like an alignment problem to me."during the life of the tires i returned to the toyota dealer for 5,000 mile service intervals.each time they checked the alignment and inflation.it was always "within spec" for my 2007 toyota prius.i told this to the dealer and the bridgestone representative. They stated that they are sorry but they cannot honor the warranty.what good is a 65,000 mile warranty for tires that wear out in 32,000 miles if the fact that they wore out voids the warranty?i purchased these tires because they got high ratings for low rolling resistance and the bridgestone brochure recommended them for my 07 prius.while the gas savings were good, the loss of half the life of the tire more than outweighs the gas savings.i believe that bridgestone has had a wear problem with these tires because after only 3 years they have withdrawn the tires and replaced them with the new ecopia 422 plus.it has a 70,000 mile warranty.but the new tire has a tread compound rated at 680 while the old tire has a tread compound rated at 400.wouldn't it be reasonable to think that the much harder 680 rating would produce much more than only 5,000 mile more warranty?i think that they withdrew the softer tire because it wore out too quickly and changed to the harder tread compound to get it close to the original warranty. But, they are not supporting the old tire warranty.i presented this logic to the bridgestone representatives on the phone and in person.they stated that they have not had complaints.i doubt this.that is why i am sending this complaint.this is false advertising.

This was rental car from hertz, thathad only 2000 miles at time of rental, on feb 2, 1997. I complained about the tires to hertz the first day of rental because the tires could barely drive when the ground was wet. I had an accident on march 9, 1997 and the police report reflects that the accident was due to damaged tires which were firestones. I wrote ford to report the tires in 1997 and 1998 to every board director with a response of to not write them again, still have copies. I wrote the vp of hertz and was told that i change the tires and accuse me of lying and ignoring the police report. I still have over $60,000 in medical bills and over $200, 000 in loss wages. My two daughters still suffer from back pain and another with her tongue that needed 8 stitiches and still has a hole in the tongue. I suffer with back pain. Ny no-fault only paid $37,000 toward medicine, doctor bills and loss wages. I loss everything and still suffering. Ford took a report and after giving them the vehicle id they confirm that the tires were firestone, i did this on 8/23/00. The police officer told me at the scene of the accident that if my children and myself had not been wearing seat belts at the time of the accident it would had been fatal. We hit a tree that totaled the car. I have color pictures of the tires and other documentation. Ford told me to contact firestone but the person i talked to there was not very cooperative, his name is tom salor at 1.800.465.1904 who was rude and gave me no help told me that i would not be helped by firestone. I have also sent a letter to cong. Billy tauzin about this and i am asking you to help put me touch with the person who can handle this complaint at firestone or ford or both because they were both neglient when i reported this problem in 1997 and 1998.

Vehicle tire punctured. Mrthe consumer experienced 5 tire failures on 5 separate occasions.

I had a blow out on the front right tire on my 2003 prius. The tire had a large split across the entire inside of the tire - the side you couldn't' see - as well as the spot in the outside of the tire that had blown out. The tire was completely destroyed and had very unusual wear patterns on it. The rest of the tires did not show unusual wear. I took it back to bridgestone since it was under warranty and they said it was a problem with the prius. I took it to the toyota dealer who said the tire warranty was through bridgestone. I now plan to replace the tires with higher psi tires that should have been on the car to begin with when purchased. The blow out sounded like an explosion when it happened. If i had been on a freeway iwould have lost control of the car.

We purchased 2new suzuki's xl7 2002 with bridgestone dueler ht687 p235/60/r16. Started vibrating almost from the start. Terrible pulsing when using the brake. Had tires forced road balanced 3 times. No change. 4 were replaced on one car and one on the other. Problem still existed. We were told by firestone dealer that it was not the tires. He said there was something wrong with the car, such as brakes or something wrong with the front end. We had an independent dealer check all the above and could only find a problem with the tires. After feeling lost, i wrote firestone with the complaint and finally was contacted by them. Firestone/bridgestone finally agreed to replace all 10 tires a year later with what ever tire we choose. They agreed to pay $80.00 plus mounting and balancing toward the 10 tires we wanted after some arguing. The dueler 687 emitted a loud bumping when driving and vibration when brakes were applied. When tires the were removed, we noticed cupping on some. Also noticed tires were not alike, some were steel plus polyester others were steel plus polyester plus nylon. I do not recommend these tires at all. We were told by the car dealer, that these tires were designed for this suv.

Noticed front end vibration in mercury grand prix. Asked mechanic to verify if wheel bearing bad. No problem there so took to sears tire store in hemet to verify if tire problem. Over my driving career i have driven over a million miles, by my calculations, and have never had a blowout. I was traveling at highway speed on the long island expressway when i hit a small pothole. Tires are bridgestone 245/40 rf 19 98w.

After hearing about the firestone recall. I was concern about my tires. I went to a firestone store and they inspected my tires and said that my tires are not the recall tires. I am affraid to drive my mountaineer far or at a high speed like 55 or 60 mph. What can be done about this? i have the same tires that being recall, but the firestone tire store said you are not in any danger, your tires came from a different plant. Vehicle was equipped with these tires direct from the factory, when driven in less than one inch of snow was virtually undriveable. Speed did not matter - 5mph or 40mph same affect - or lack there of. All indicator lights for skid control, abs, traction control were actively flashing at all times - driving or braking. Car slide thru three intersections, while driver attempted to stop the car 1/2 block before intersection. Car also lacked acceleration, taking 20 seconds to complete a turn across a two lane road. Dealership was notified same day. They ran several tests per toyota's tech line on abs/skid/traction system...later changed the tires and the most notable difference was made. It is amazing that no accidents occurred.toyota should be required to swap tires for clients that have this issue. It is not safe for the driver, the others on the road and ultimately this is a terrible risk for toyota. Please ensure toyota and other car manufacturers are truly testing the vehicles and all features they sell so customers can have confidence in the safety of the vehicle they purchase.airbags, traction, and abs will only be effective if they work in conjunction with the other features of the car. It seems that the bridgestone tires size 225/45r-17 on my new bmw form flat spots on the tires when the vehicle is parked over night. It takes about 5 miles or more depending on how cold it is [75 degrees or less] outside to finely begin to perform properly. The car shimmies and vibrates to the point that it is hard to control until the tires warm up. I had complained about this since the 2nd day after purchase. [june '05] bmw tried to make repairs after many phone calls and certified letters but it hasn't been fixed. Now they tell me that they do not warranty tire problems take your complaint to bridgestone. The bridgestone tire dealers have all told me that they do not warranty the problem and that it is a bmw problem. I have been put in the position of each company blaming the other and no one wanting to address the problem.i cannot be the only person with this problem. An unsafe condition exists as you drive and the car wobbles, bumps and shimmies for the first few miles or more, because of the flat spots that form after parking for a time.

Soon after purchacing new bridgestone tires we began to experience balance problems. The montgomery ward auto center where we purchased the tires repededly tried to get them balanced. One day while driving on the interstate, one of the tires blew out. The service department said it looked like seperation from running low pressure. This is unlikley since we check often and always inflate to the higher end of the tolerence.(for traction and treadwear) since then we've learned to have our tires checked when they seem to be out of balance.at this time we've had three of the origional four replaced due to seperation. The most recent incedent in august of this year, the replacement tire we were given was acontac by continental. We were told they don't make the tourensa anymore. We fear that the connental replacement tire has either been recalled or soon will be. Also, we feel that we were sold defective tires origionally, or we wouldn't have had so many problems. I own a 2004 toyota sienna le awd.i was always under the assumption that i was driving a "safe car". However, i found out that the tires they use on this model are far from being safe.i have 37000 miles on my vehicle, have done services as well as oil changes and not once has anyone ever said anything about the tires needing to be changed.i even asked toyota and they told me that i was good to go and they would last a long time.it makes me angry that i have been driving a vehicle with tires that have so many problems. Bridgestone b380. Run flat tires.but not only was i never told about this problem, they have told me that they can not put regular tires on the car without changing rims.i think toyota is covering up and it is upsetting to me to read so many accounts of problems with this particular tire.luckily for me, i was alerted and i checked my tires which has led me to put new tires on the van. They are still the same tires as came with the van because of what i was told.it is only a matter of time before someone gets hurt because of this.

This complaint concerns blizzak ws-50 winter tires manufactured by bridgestone and purchased new from "the tire rack" these tires have not exhibited a "failure" in that they have not defalted, blown out, shredded etc.the concern with these tires is their handling characteristics on dry pavement. They exhibit extreme tread squirm and sidewall flex. During cornering or lane changes, they give the sensation that they will "tuck under" the wheel rim, leading to a tip over.they are an extremely "soft" tire, with no reassuring feeling of support in the sidewall. It should be noted for sake of comparison that the two prior sets of winter tires on this same vehicle were bridgestone ws-15 which did not exhibit any of the aforementioned negative characteristics. I have contacted bridgestone both by phone and certified letter to effect a replacement of these tires, without success. I will make available to the office of defects investigation both my copy of this letter and my telephone conversation log in this matter. The vendor ofthese tires was "the tire rack". This organization maintains a web site bulletin board for its customers to post comments regarding various tires. I have downloaded, printed and retained several customer comments regarding the negative handling characteristics of these tires on dry pavement. I will also make my vehicle available for test drive by the local nhsta office if necessary.please advise. (tiresize: 19565qr15)

The camry se model equipped with sport tires(bridgestone turanza in this case) will not function in any level of snowfall. I have had easily over 10 incidents of not being able to stop the vehicle...more incidents ofnot being able to get started in ridiculously light snow conditions. I had an accident where i rear-ended a car while doing 10 mph because i completely lost any capability of stopping. I have had 5 other people drive the car and every one of them could not believe the lack of traction. My insurance agent owns a camry le with completely different tires and claims the car is excellent in the snow. I called toyota and they said that there are no other complaints on this...bull!!! ...the dealer where i take this car for service said that there have been numerous complaints in regard to this se situation but they can't do anything about it because it's a manufacturer / tire issue. They tell you to call toyota only to have corporate tell you to get lost. I feel that you need to do something about this now!...there are many many se owners having the same problem .. It is dangerous! somebody is going to get killed! ...i now have 2 choices ...spend 500.00 on new tires so my family can be safe or trade this in and take a huge monetary hit. How is it possible that toyota is not required to test this car with these tires in snow conditions before putting people in harm's way? their service people admit that these tires are too hard and the car is too light ....a recall should be mandated to have toyota replace these tires now!

I will also notify the ntsb so they have a record of this complaint....""*la

See complaint number 10120930 and 10112448.i do have had this problem on my 2004 sienna le awd..my problem is identically to complaint number 10120930.i have contacted my toyota dealership and they gave me this "oh you have to rotate your tires and tires wear more on minivans" crap.my tires should not be wearing at 6-12,000 miles.they replace both front ends and now they are wearing out again.i sincerely hope that you take this matter seriously and have toyota look at the suspension and drive train issues and do a recall.

I was driving my brand new bmw x6 on i78 headed west.at approximately exit 4, the tire pressure management system indicated loss of pressure on the front right tire.i pulled into a gas station to inspect and noted that the tire wall had blown out of the tire.there was no damage to the rim not the tread, only to the wall.the car was brand new and had approximately 550 miles on it at the time.i had the car inspected by a car expert who's opinion was that the tire was defective.i had the car towed to bmw who told me the tire was fine and it was my fault that it blew out.i argued my case and bmw then agreed to replace the tire for free.i have requested that they keep the tire for a full inspection but they seem to not want to do this.i am extremely concerned given the car and tire had virtually no driven miles on them and i had not hit anything in the road (as i noted before, there was no damage other than to the tire wall.

Tires with large bubbles on several tires after tire purchase.

The tire pressure monitoring system requires a pressure of 80 psi in the rear tires of the truck.this is very excessive unless you are hauling a very heavy load.unloaded, this causes a donut shaped tire and causes severe cupping in the tire wear.gm will not lower the threshold at their service department.this also creates an issue if different tires are put on the vehicle that require a lower psi.load range d tires require less than 65 psi, so even at max psi these tires are over inflated.with either tire, the threshold is too high.the system tells you that you have low tire pressure if you inflate the tires to a proper unloaded pressure.at the suggested pressure, not only is tire wear greatly intensified and uneven, only the center part of the tire makes ground contact causing easy traction loss in the rear end, especially in wet conditions.this high of a pressure unloaded also causes an even harsher ride than normal.taking this issue to the dealer (mclarty in huntsville) to get a proper threshold set resulted in a run around.not only do i lose my ability to know if i have a flat tire (system always shows a low pressure), i lose my ability to put on a better quality than stock tire (which requires less than gm required 80 psi to not set off the tpms alerts), and my tires wear abnormally and very quickly.also my traction is very limited when not towing a load.the customer should be allowed to adjust for the tire pressures that apply to their application.i have already ruined one set of stock sized tires that were over inflated.this is a gm problem that keeps getting flushed down the drain.

It seems that the bridgestone tires size 225/45r-17 on my new bmw form flat spots on the tires when the vehicle is parked over night. It takes about 5 miles or more depending on how cold it is [75 degrees or less] outside to finely begin to perform properly. An unsafe condition exists as you drive and the car wobbles, bumps and shimmies for the first few miles or more, because of the flat spots that form after parking for a time.

Friday evening while driving in 5:00 pm traffic i had a blowout on the interstate in my 2002 honda crv.it was the driver's side back tire which had the blowout.the car is about 1 1/2 years old with 26,000 miles on it.i was not hurt nor was the car damaged.the tire is a bridgestone, i apologize that i do not know the exact model, and is the standard tire put on the car when it was sold to me new off the honda lot.on saturday morning i went to a tire shop to get a new tire and was informed that i had severe tread separation on the other 3 tires.the spare had as you can imagine no separation.the driver's front tire showed signs of severe separation, that even a novice like myself could notice.the gentlemen at the tire shop said that all four tires having tread separation could possibly be a defect from the factory.to make matters worse, in august 2003 i had a 20,000 mile check up at a local honda dealer, which included tire rotation and inspection of the condition of the tire.in september 2003 i returned to the same honda dealer to get the tires balanced.i am extremely concerned that the tire had a blowout but even more concerned that the mechanics did not notice the tread separation.i just thought i would pass along this bit of information.*la

I was driving at approx 70 mph.ambient temp approx 95 f. Tires were marginal in tread, but showed no sign of damage.tread separated, but tire remained intact.main ingredients of issue.speed, heat, tire age.i notified bridgestone/firestone that they should investgate this as people will think their tires are ok, based on a lay-persons visiual inspection, but there might be an underlying problem.unfortunately the tire company discarded the tire before i could get them to let me keep it. It was a classsic example of the problem affecting the wilderness, at, etc tires, includingthe fact that it stayed inflated.i suspect the problem is widespread, but has not yet reached the proportion of the current tire problem, or it has not caused catastrophic results due to the nature of the separation, or the construction of the vehicle's undercarriage and components (axles, height of car, etc.).it seems that b/f tires should at least notify customers to get all old tires checked, biut it does not seem fair to have them pay for recall of tiures that are beyond their expected life.hope this helps save a life, or at leasts saves someone some big hassles or big legal bills.cheers!tony( dot number: tire size: p215/75/15 )

At the time.there was nothing visible in the road.about 1,000 cars rode directly behind me and none had tire failure.police looked for debris in the road and found none.the only noise heard was the "pop" of the tire and immediate air deflation.i nearly lost control of the vehicle and hit the wall.i brought the tire back to the firestone store where i was promptly told that there were never problems with bridgestone tires and that "something cut that tire".how could something cut a tire under the tread and on the very edge of the bottom, with no evidence of external puncture and cause a tear all the way up the inside sidewall?i could see them telling me that i had hit a curb or something if the damage had been to the outside sidewall...but it was not...and i hit nothing.i have saved this tire for inspection.since 1970, this is the 3d time i have been stuck w/firestone/bridgestone tires and the 3d time i've had problems.the first time, the car had a blowout when it was 2 wks old.the 2d time, 4 of the 5 tires were "out of round"and now this is the 3d incident.i've never had a problem with any other tire.please help. Thanks.

On 2004 toyota sienna xle awd, it uses runflat tires (bridgestone b380) as standard equipment. I have to replace 1 at 5500 miles under normal road driving. At 29,000 miles, i have to replace all 4 tire due to excessive tread wear also under normal use. These tires cost 300% more compare to tires used on other sienna models. Neither toyota nor their dealer advised of these issues but just say those tires cost $10 or $20 more and only available through dealers. These unexpected tire wear and cost cause me being stranded on i10 at 11pm where no help can be found and cost more than $100 of towing to a dealership. Cost is one thing but less than normal tire lift expectancy caused safety issue when 1 or more tire unexpectedly malfunction or flat. Tires are not warranted by toyota but tire company and bridgestone dealer were quick to blame alignment being the issue. My sienna has been taken care of by toyota dealer with all maintenance record kept and on schedule.

Noticed front end vibration in mercury grand prix. Asked mechanic to verify if wheel bearing bad. No problem there so took to sears tire store in hemet to verify if tire problem. Advised that 3 of 4 tires have tread separation and would have to be replaced at my expense even though under warranty because i did not have road hazard coverage. My dispute with service writer included assistant manager who supported his position. My position was that this was a material failure and should be covered to no avail so left store with 3 bad tires. Went to temecula branch of sears where service writer immediately recognized the problem and set about changing tires under warranty to my satisfaction. Toyota sienna (2004) run flat tires. Replaced in april 2006 under the class action law suit. Worn again prematurely. Last tire rotation the front tires were worn bad, the back ones were fine. Now, one month later, the front tires (which used to be on the back last month) are now worn. When the tires were replaced, i was told that they were re-engineered and there is to be no worry. I have checked the air pressure more than the recommended amount of every other gas fill up and they have held the air. Is it the tires or the car? toyota says they will not replace again. It was only 15,500 miles now all 4 will need to be replaced. I don't understand the problem if they are holding the pressure and that is what the dealer and toyota tell me is that i must keep the pressure at 35, it is!

At the time of the accident, i was driving 70mph on a major highway attempting to switch lanes when the car lost complete control.the car swerved severely left and there was no functioning of the brakes or steering.i was then hit driver side by a semi-tractor trailor who knocked me into a concrete wall.the car was demolished.the mechanical expert report showed that the throttle was open and it appeared that the cruise control had caused the car to accellerate although the cruise control was not turned on at the time. My concerns relate to the inability to steer the car or initiate the brakes if it was in fact a tire blow-out and also i am concerned at to why the throttle was open when the cruise control was not on.immediately prior to the accident, i felt as though the car was accellerating independently of my utilizing the gas pedal. In conclusion, i am not certain as to what caused the car to go out of control, however, if it was a tire blow-out, i think that it was unbelievably unsafe to not be( dot number: )

After getting off the freeway and driving on surface streets, i had a complete tire blow out. When pulled over the resulting tire was torn to shreds. The tire was purchased a little over 3 years ago with about 25,000 miles on it. The tires were recently maintained (rotated and aligned). There was a good amount of tread still remaining on tire. Fortunately, i was able to pull over into a parking lot and call for road assistance.however, because of the complete disintegration of the tire, my rim was totally damaged. I feel that because i regularly maintain my car including the tires, this should not have happened unless for a defect in the tire.

This afternoon i had another blowout of a run-flat tire. This is the 7th blowout in under 17 months. Over my driving career i have driven over a million miles, by my calculations, and have never had a blowout. I was traveling at highway speed on the long island expressway when i hit a small pothole. Tires are bridgestone 245/40 rf 19 98w.

The wheels on this vehicle break under normal driving conditions--if you hit the slightest uneven road, they will bend, break, or crack, causing the tire significant damage.

At 2595 miles,i needed to replace 3 tires and repair 2 rims on my 2009 mercedes benz sl550;at 7400 miles, another tire with a bulge;at 8000 miles,3 more tires with bubbles...awaiting my service appointment;afaid to drive and apprehensive to call the insurance company for fear of losing coverage.thousands of dollars out-no tire warranty and the dealer service department tells me it is me! my car is just two years old and has less than 8500 miles on it.i have been driving this make/model for 23 years with no prior incident. This car will have its third set of tires and multiple rim repairs at 8500 miles or so!

Front tire of motorcycle wears very unevenly not allowing full contact of rubber to meet the road.this creates a dangerous situation as tire is not fully contacting the road surface.it has done this since bike was new and on two sets of tires.i think the rim may be the problem causing this uneven wear.i had two different dealers install tires with the same identical results of poor road contact.kawasaki of kingman arizona and kawasaki of rapid city, south dakota.
