I have a problem, i would like to see if i could get any assistance or advice as who i might contact to help see if i can resolve this issue.i purchased two tires from big o tires-oceanside, 499 college blvd, oceanside, ca 92057 -760-940-1100.i was told that these were very good tires with low noise. ? 50,000 mile rated tire.i had them installed these two new tires on the front of my car, which replaced the original factory tires.i drive 500-1000 miles per week.after my first week the noise was like having a motorcycle in my car and i had extreme vibration in the steering wheel and in the seat of my car, along with incredible shaking, when i braked.i took my car back to big o, and complained about what happened.they said my rotors were warped so i paid to have them turned and said that it should take care of the problems.i was out on the road traveling the next week, another 800 miles and the noise seem to get worse.the shaking had been reduced, however there still remained more vibration than i had with the original tires that were just about to wear out.i now have about 2,000 plus miles on these tires and the noise is unbelievable loud, starting at 20-miles per hour.i took my issue to big o; they said that i could buy some new tires (i requested bridgestone) pay for mounting the new tires, which would add about another $80.even though i did not like this idea, i agreed to spend the additional money.i get there on saturday morning 10/3 and i am told they will only allow 50% on the tires they had sold me.i started my issue with them from the very beginning with their so called solutions and it ends up costing me more money each time.the owner has not called me back.i would like to see if there is any other assistance in helping resolve my issue.which big o tires my be defective and cause other problems to my car as well.*la
Tires were sold as replacements for firestone afnty trgt1 tublps 18565r15 tires.the tires were sold by rust tires, llc d/b/a austin bluffs big o, 4496 austin bluffs parkway, colorado springs, co 80918, telephone #: 719-599-4555. I requested similar quality in an all-weather radial tire to the tires being replaced.the products sold do not perform safely in any amount of snow at any speed. At appropriately slow rates of speed, the tires tend to lose traction whenever the clutch is put in and when braking.the car begins to slide at those times and when starting from a complete stop.tires do not seem to gain any traction until car is in third gear. I have never had this type of problem with any other all-weather tires i've had over the years. These tires had approximately 5,500 miles on them when the problem first occurred with snow on the ground.while it was very icy on12/11/00, i had never experienced that degree of sliding in over 30 years of driving in winter conditions.with a child in the car, i had numerous "minor" slides and three very close calls where there was nearly property damage and/or injury.during a subsequent snow at christmas time, i again experienced unusual sliding.the most recent occurrences have been during and following a snow storm on 1/16/01.your database only lists 2 types of nankang tires and i cannot determine whether the ones on my car are either one. Tire traction unacceptably low. Tires spin on take-off and skid on attempting to stop. The problem is tremendously worse on wet road than on dry road, but still poses danger even on dry road. The problem is also getting worse as the tires get older. They were purchased in october of 1999. When the tires slide or spin, they make very little noise and leave no marks. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where the contact was advised that the tires exhibited a bubble which was what caused the defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted to report the failure. The failure mileage was 127,000 and the current mileage was 144,147.
4 tires purchased for a travel trailer through big-o-tires. One tire blew-out causing extensive damage. Brought trailer to another big-o-tire for 1 replacement tire and was advised that the set previously installed was an unsafe application. I was forced to purchase a complete set of 4 tires while traveling on vacation. Big-o-tire corporate office has suggested they will reimburse but have not been returning my calls. After market hydrotrack tire215/70r15 size and dot # pjm3cxlr445.tread on the right rear tire separated at highway speeds.
On two occasions consumer experienced tire tread separation at moderate speed, prior warning was tread hitting the fenders, the third failure was discovered as a separation bubble while having tires balanced big o (lt245/75r16).

In august of 1999 while traveling at approximately 50 mph right rear inside big-o tire experienced tread separation. From august 10 through august 17 2000 there were three incidents of tread separation.while traveling at approximately 45 mph,right front big-o tireexperienced tread separation.second incident, while traveling at approximately 55 mph,left rear outside big-o tire experienced tread separation. Metric radial steel belted, p185/70r14, dot unknown,replacement equipment with 4000-5000 miles on a 1995, honda, accord. While driving 70 mphright rear tire had a blowout. No accident, no damage.
On 5/23/01, i had just gotten off the highway.i was at a stop and the tire (l/front) went flat.i took it back to big o and it was replaced for free because it seperated. I asked about the front/r tire which was purchased at the same time and i was told that the warranty had expired. On 6/16/01, the front/r tire seperated while driving on the highway with my kids in the car.again, the tire was taken back to bigo and it was replaced for free stating seperation.my complaint is, when the first tire seperated and i asked about the other tire, it wasn't replaced.these are the only big o tires on my van.they separated within 2 weeks of each other, one while driving on the highway at 65 mph.the second tire should have been replaced at the same time as the first.are these tires safe?both were purchased at the same time and both seperated close to each other.i would like to know if you have other complaints regarding these tires.i am nervous driving with these tires and would like very much to hear from you.thank you for your help.
