No failure yet, however, owners manual calls for tire pressure of 24 pounds front and rear.my question is, has there been any tire failure due to low air pressure on honda crvs.what is the correct tire pressure for a honda crv?why does honda recommend such a low tire pressure?is there a roll-over hazzard in the honda crv is tire pressure is 30 psi??thank you, ron( dot number: tire size: 205/70r15 )

While driving at night, headlights suddenly went out. Smoke began to come from the steering column near the signal light.consumer pulled over, then smoke cleared, but the driver had to hold the high beam switch while driving.*la

I braked and swerved to avoid hitting a metal tank that just fell off a trailer in front of me, hit the tank on the right front, then discontinued braking. Then the right front, left front, and right rear tires collapsed off the rims. I lost control of the car, swerved into the median/ditch, car turned 180 degrees and rolled back (almost rolled over). Car sustained significant body and undercarriage damage.due to seat belt usage, my passenger and i sustained minor injuries only. I was travelling 50 mph on a 4-lane divided highway.weather was 90 degrees, sunny, and dry. If the tires had not failed, i would have had minor body damage only. Complete dot number is bfrwtu410202.

Tire blew out completely; the side totally blew away from the tire; my son was driving down i25 at 75mph and he heard an explosion and the vehicle started swerving and he got it pulled over and stopped. He had just started to pass another smaller vehicle.

The tires i had replaced because 3 out of the four tires were defective. Mr

Consumer complaint regarding defective b.f. Goodrich car tires.*mr the consumer experienced three flat tires within 5 months.

I purchased this vehicle new , at about 10,000 mile i noticed that the tires were wearing very quickly. I brought the vehicle into the dealer and also an authorized bf goodrich dealer and they checked the wheel alignment which they both found to be with in specifications. Both the dealer and the bf goodrich dealer came up with almost the same conclusion. Which is why i am submitting this letter to you. My research on this matter with ford found the following 1)ford installed smaller tires on my vehicle then what was indicated on the vehicle description sticker that all new vehicles come with on the window. The sticker indicated that the vehicle have p275/70 r 17 installed but the vehicle was delivered to me with p275/60 tires. Seeing if this was a isolated case i found a different ford dealer which also installed smaller tires than what was specified on the new vehicle description sticker. I took pictures of this practice which i have. When i confronted the service manager of why these tires are on these vehicles his answer was that ford uses what they have on hand at the time. The2nd important finding is that the air pressure that is indicated in the door pillar indicates to use 26 lbs of air in the front tires on my 2001 f 150, according to fords own information and three authorized bf goodrich dealers that air pressure is not correct and should be within 30 to 35 lbs. I investigated the 2002 f 150 with the same tire size as my vehicle and they have the correct air pressure now stated on the door pillar sticker @ 30 to 32 lbs. The difficulty that i am having and probably many other owners of this vehicle is that bf goodrich will not warranty the tires because they say that i was using the inncorrect air pressure in the tires , when in fact i was only following fords specifications that was on the door pillar for this 2001 ford vehicle and which have now changed in the 2002 models without letting the 2001 owners aware of this change . Thank you dt

I had purchased a set of bfgoodrich premium touring tires from costco.i have had blowouts in 4 of 6 tires, all with around 45-55000 miles on them.the sidewall had cracks that went from the tread down across the sidewall. I have only had 1 blowout since i started driving since 1978.besides these tires.i put 70000 miles on the original tires without problems.i do not understand how this many tires have blown.by the way, the 2 tires that did not blow out had cracks forming on the sidewall by the tread as well.(the reason i had 6 is because 2 were replaced under warranty)the "tires plus" store i went to did not understand why the tires were doing what they were doing, but he did say that it was not normal.i just want to help prevent accident or injury to others.it may just be the tire size that is affected.the tires were not old, the tires plus manager checked that first when he saw the tire.i have a set that were placed on my 1991 ford tempo and they are not showing the same cracking.i only have about 30000 miles on them right now.3 of the 4 blowouts were on the front and one on the passenger rear.

Bfgoodrich 175/65/r14 tires purchased at sears without "road hazard" on 4/22/2007. Tires claim to have a 60,000 mile manufacture warranty. Tires have blown out on the highway on 3 separate incidents. The first time, service tech's were not able to determine cause- no road hazards. Purchased another brand tire. Second incident again on the highway. Car was taken in and service tech's again could not determine cause. Manager at sears sold me another tire (same model) at half off. Third incident occurred on the highway again. This time same manager at sears did not resolve issue, claimed it was a valve stem and because i did not purchase road hazard said it was not covered. I insisted that he check if it was a tire defect and he responded that he could not determine that. Left sears riding on my spare tire. Nothing was offered by the manager. All 4 tires have blown out now and i don't know who to turn to.

The service writer first said, "it's out of alignment." i know better (i've been in the automotive repair business for 21 years). Then he said, "the tire was ran low." i said it wasn't. Then he said, "you didn't rotate the tires often enough." then he said (in confidence), "gm uses junk tires." but they won't warranty the tires. And i have a bumper to bumper warranty. I also know that all chevy astrovans have this very same problem.( dot number: ?? tire size: p195/65r15 )

Complaint against costco automobile tires: purchased 4 costco tires in 2006.they were filled with nitrogen.not told that all air must be nitrogen air put in tires.filled tired with regular air.major car problems with shaking of steering and fumes and smell and tires hot to touch.told by mechanic that when i put in air in nitrogen filled costco tires it caused a chemical reaction.major safety issue.thankful i was lucky, but who will be the next victim and will they be so lucky?something needs to be done to hold costco accountable for filling tires with nitrogen as it is a safety issue.they should fill with air as with industry standard.

I had replaced three tires on my vehicle at sears.approximately, three weeks ago, i had a tire deflate while driving out of a parking area toward the freeway.i stopped at a gas station and discovered air leaking from the valve stem.i filled the tire and drove the car to sears a couple miles away and it was repaired.las night as i backed out of the driveway of my home, another leak occurred from a different tire, again it was the valve stem.i plan on taking the car into sears for repair and to have them also check the third tires valve stem.

Purchased new bfgoodrich tires around may? of 2001 at a merchants site now closed.around july one tire had sidewall cracks.merchants determined it to be defective.replaced one tire at a $10 cost for hazard warranty.about nov. 2001remaining 3 tires exhibited same sidewall cracks.car had about 10k miles on it and rockville merchants determined tires to be defective and returned to dealer for credit.i was charged about $90 or 1/3 the price of the tires.now, march 2002 the 3 replaced tires again have the same type sidewall cracks and some swirl patterns.merchants determined to be defective and reported to michelin who owns goodrich.i refuse to have goodrich put on the car but am being asked to pay about $20 for each of 4 tires to be michelin to be put on the car.my family dr. Also said he had 3 sets of such tires replaced (free of charge) then just bought dif. Ones himself.it appears they are not acknowledging a known defect and consumers are being put in danger and ripped off.i do not plan to keep this car more than a year and should not have to pay to have defective tires replaced!!!other dot #'s end in 2602 and 3501.those are the recent ones.i can get the prior numbers from records.i also can get the specific dates if needed; these are estimated dates.
