Have had 2 instances with cracked and splitting sidewalls occurring on bf goodrich 195/60 r15 touring t/a tires about a year after they went into service. Replacing them with another brand of tire before a fatal accident does occur due to a blowout.

I purchased a set of four b.f. Goodrich touring t/a p195-70r14 m+s from bjs wholesale club in west hartford, connecticut on august 29, 2001. Invoice 3574172, dot bfrwb01122. All four tires have since failed, one at a time, due to inside sidewall blowout.all occurred well within their 65,000 mile tread wear warranty but the dealer said that sidewall blowout is not covered.it seems highly unlikely that all four tires in one set should experience sidewall blowout on the in side of the tire without it being a factory defect.is there a known problem with these particular tires?is there a recall?if not, there should be.

Dt: the owner was driving about 55 mph on the interstate yesterday and the vehicle began to shimmy. The owner went slower and stayed to the right. The owner took the vehicle to the mechanic. Upon inspection, the mechanic saw the steel belt coming out of tire. The right rear tire had to be replaced. B.f.goodrich stated that the tires had just worn out and needed to be replaced.owner did not think that six years was too old or that 43,000 miles was enough for them to wear out. The owner was not aware of how many miles these tires should have on them before needed to be replaced. Last year the left front tire had a steel belt coming out as well and had to replace it. The owner was aware that she would have to file a second complaint to note the second tire information, although it was the same brand of tire, with the same line and size.

Early a.m. Went to car noticed tire completely flat due to 'cracked/defective' valve stem.had purchased 4 new tires 2/8/07 from sam's club. They replaced valve stem but did not mention anything about a recall and did not check other valve stems for defects.i was not aware of recall until hearing it on the news this week.now concerned about other tires and if the 'new replacement valve is safe.
