Several weeks after purchasing my 2004 ford f-150, i noticed that the front wheels were beginning to discolor from a build-up of brake dust.less than a month into owning the car, i complained to the dealership and was told that this problem was the result of a ford decision to replace the originally designed brake pads with quiter ones because of previous customer complaints about noisy brakes.they told me there was no alternative but to live with the problem, even though i was having to clean my wheels every three weeks due to the constant build-up of the brake dust.they told me that they have no low-dust version for the f-150's even if i were to pay for it myself.they provided no help or support, even suggesting that we consumers were at fault for this new brake dust problem because of complaints about the previous pads' noise, as if to suggest that we deserve or should have expected at least one of these problems.my position is that when i buy a $40,000 new car, i expect that enough r&d was done to deliver a quiet and low dust brake pad.if this problem isn't remedied by the manufacturer, i guess my only recourse is never to buy ford cars again.it's been around 6 months since my purchase and my truck has about 7000 miles on it; yet i still have to wash the front wheels off at least every three weeks due to the discoloration from the build-up.

I have a 2004 f-150 supercrew, from day one i have noticed a vibration in the steering wheel between 55-70 mph, i have had it in for service now four times in 3 months.dealership indicated that it was "road force" bad tires.after replacement vibration still existed.

On march 31, 2015 my truck was damaged for the second time due to tread separation on a bf goodrichall terrain t/a ko, lt 285 / 65r20 tire (dotbe3f uh11 0912). My truck is a black 2012 ford, f-350 super duty, fx4, lariat.1.while driving on i-10 traveling ~67mph i felt a sudden bumping of one of my tires before i could reduce my speed and pull over to the shoulder to get off the road the tread separated from the tire causing damage to my truck and barely missing other vehicles i was passing on the road. 2.as i reduced my speed and while pulling over to the shoulder of the road, the tire blew out, i was able to keep my truck under control and made it to the shoulder of the road so the tire could be removed safely.

At speeds over 45, front end vibrates badly and is hard to control. I have replaced the tires which worked until the tires had 5000 miles of them, balanced tires, and had front end alignments. The toyota dealership is aware of the problem, but cannot come up with a solution to correct the problem. I know of other tacoma owners with similar problems.( dot number: tire size: 31x10.5 15 )

Tire blew out completely; the side totally blew away from the tire; my son was driving down i25 at 75mph and he heard an explosion and the vehicle started swerving and he got it pulled over and stopped. He had just started to pass another smaller vehicle.

Vehicle pulls to the right, brakes are working correctly windows are beginning to mold, cd has eaten up cd's, tires do not grip road well.

Defective valve stems on ford f150 (2007).

Vehicle being towed behind motorhome on i-29 north of st.joseph,mo. Heard noise and saw smoke and motorhome began drifting to right. After stopping to investigate found left front tire blown off wheel, brake line severed, running board missing and considerable damage to left door and fender.put on spare then proceeded to palmyra, ne. For the evening.just after crossing in to wyoming the next day another loud report and the left rear tire blew out.same type of tire and same mileage as the front, only the belt had wrapped around the axle and locked up the wheel. I have this tire, what is left of it anyway.conditions on both occurances: clear weather, temps in the mid to high 80 s, speed was 65 mph, traffic moderate.tires were checked and inflated to 50 psi prior to departing bartlett, tn.tread was about 50% on all four tires of the matched set. If vehicle had been driven instead of being towed, this could have been dangerous to occupents and other motorists in both incidents .

I purchased a set of bf goodrich all terrain tires for my 1999 gmc yukon.the left rear tire had a blow out after i drove the car about 12 miles since the new tire was installed at the discount tire dealership in burien washington.the tire was a c load rated tire, size 265 16 r75.the entire sidewall of the tire blew out around the circumference of the sidewall.i have never seen a blow out with this characteristic. This was a very serious event and it occurred on a band new tire. The tire was defective and there are likely other tires with this same defect.

The contact owns a 1997 gmc sierra 2500 with bf-goodrich all terrain tires, line size lt265/75/16. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle exhibited a loud abnormal noise as the contact lost control of the vehicle.the driver side rear tire tread separated causing damage to the back of the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who advised that they would contact him at a later date. The vehicle was not repaired. The vin and dot numbers were unavailable. The failure and current mileage was 141,000.

Bf goodrich tires on new nissan xterra only lasted 32000 milesare they kidding.

Front tires on my ranger keep "cupping" causing a noise and vibration from the front. Dealer says i need to keep rotating the tires every 5000 miles which i have been (which i also feel is extreme). Service manager told me it is because ford uses soft tires on this model. Sounds like a defect, maybe why the explorer's kept rolling over.

Tire began to shimmy, pulled over found nothing wrong,25 miles later tire blew at highway speed causing lose of control.tire belts did extensive damage to vehicle.same tire as nhtsa recall number 15t-061 but manufactured 4 months prior to earliest recall production date.

I bought a new gmc yukon that came with bf goodrich long trailsize p245/75 r16 new on the yukon.the summer of 2000 with around 12000 miles on the tires i had a blow out going around 70 on a rear tire.about a year ago i had one of the tires go bad/ had a bubble develop on the tread.this last weekend i had another tire develop a bubble on the tread.last year the serial number from the bad tire was ap70hk11478.the blowout i did not get the serial number and the one over the last weekend i have not got the number from that tire at this time.

I have a 2004 f-150 supercrew, from day one i have noticed a vibration in the steering wheel between 55-70 mph, i have had it in for service now four times in 3 months.dealership indicated that it was "road force" bad tires.after replacement vibration still existed.

The front steering on my 2004 ford f-150 truck will start to wobble after slowing down from highway travel.it acts like the wheels are out of balance.however, i just had the tires rotated and balanced because of this, but it did not help.the vehicle has 23,000 miles.another person i know is experiencing the same problems with his 2004 ford f-150 with 17,000 miles.

I own a 2008 ford f-150 lariat which is lightly used and never carries a load.the tires on my truck dry rotted by 5/19/11 and had to be replaced. Mileage was 18369, cost to me was $362.00. Now the new tires have done the same thing. I do not haul cargo or drive at excessive speeds. My current mileage is 31944 which means this set lasted just over two years and 13575 miles. I am concerned about the issue of a blowout and losing control of the truck on the highway due to the rollovers with pickup trucks. I just watched an episode of motorweek that stressed the importance of keeping the steel belts out of the elements or they will fail badly and these tires are cracked in the tread where there is little to keep the steel covered. I don't know if there is a problem with this tire, but i'm not getting any service life out of a very expensive tire. It seems bf goodrich and ford think this is my problem, goodrich blames ozone for the problem, nobody will take responsibility. I now own a truck that i cannot in good conscience ride my grandchildren in.[xxx]information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Here's whathappenedon 7-26-09i was on my way back to fort worthfrom austin, txfrom a trade show whenabout 3:00 pm on hwy i-35e 19 miles south of waco tx thei felt a sudden vibration and thumping in the front. I started to slow down to get off the road to check it outwhen front left tire blew out, causing the truck to severely veer to the lefttrying my best to keep the truck from rolling, then hittingthe concrete guard rail which deflected the truck enough to slide down the barrier for about two hundred feet till it stopped.i felt lucky to be alive. If i would have been in the right lane at the time i would have taken cars out as well.i was able put the spare on and limp back home this is the third tire out of the fourall the same batchi have hadthrown tread and the last was blow out! all installed at the same time and brand.first one threw tread on 10-14-08 left rear did some damage.ok things happen,i have warranty on it from discount tires, they replaced it.. Then the next threw off it's on 7-21-09 right rear tire. Discount tire replaces it too..i had them look at the others tires and check for defects, everything was fine.. Five days later this blow out on the drivers front'three tires throwing tread in 9 months and two with in a week i was thinking this is not a coincidence, this is the definite sign of defective tires. I still have one more tire on the truck which looks perfectly good.. I will ask to have replaced as well. I'm not having any luck with michelin .. They gave me a generic excuse and are not willing to do any repairs to my truckthis is why i need your help!

The contact owns a 1996 chevrolet suburban 2500 with bf goodrich tires, all terrain tako, size lp245/75r/16e. While driving 70 mph the vehicle began to shake.he pulled over and inspected the tires. The front passenger side tire had a bulge. He changed the tire with his spare and purchased a new tire. Two other tires also failed and one blew out and the other had a bulge. Two days ago his spare tire blew out inside the vehicle. He stated that when the tire blew it damaged the lining of the roof, molding, seat belt holder and the tire cover. No one was in the vehicle at the time. The failure mileage was 132,000 and the current mileage 136,490.updated 12/22/10 updated 12/3/10

Vehicle pulls to the right, brakes are working correctly windows are beginning to mold, cd has eaten up cd's, tires do not grip road well.

While driving west bound on interstate highway 80 east of imlay, nv at approximately 70 mph in lane #2, the left rear tire lost about 80-85% of it's tread in about 10 seconds, extensively damaging the underside wheel well area near the tire and the body of the vehicle.control of the vehicle was never lost, although there was veering from side to side and violent loud banging as the tread pieces were hitting the vehicle.the remaining tire carcass did not lose air pressure, and we managed to safely come to a stop on the right highway shoulder.after stopping and determining the extent of damage to the vehicle and that the tire was not flat, we slowly drove about one mile to the next exit, left the highway and changed the tire.the 4 tires had all been properly inflated and had about 11,045 miles on them since all four were purchased in 2012.the tires are b f goodrich, lt265 / 75r16, "rugged terrain t/a". The vehicle is a 2004 ford f-250 super cab 4x4 pickup truck.

While driving 65 mphrear passenger side tire blew out.

While driving on the highway my truck began to vibrate. I stopped and checked the tires condition, air pressure and lug nuts. All seemed to be fine. I continued driving and experienced a violent blowout from the right front tire causing extensive damage to the right front of the truck. I was told by the tire store that model tire was defective and they had seen a number of failures. A claim was filed with tire manufacturer and denied. I was told the newest model of that tire had been improved so the tires were replacedthe truck was sent to the dealer for repairs.

I attempted to submit my vehicle to the service department at toyota of longview, in longview, texas, in response to safety recall notice titled "certain 2008 through 2011 model year fj cruiser vehicles equipped with trd accessory wheels and toyota-recommended light truck tires." i requested the tpms ecu be replaced, the cold tire inflation pressure be revised and a new tire/loading label installed.toyota of longview refused to perform the recommended work unless i paid a $99.00 diagnostic fee.the recall notice stated these components will be replaced at no charge to me. I believe these components must be replaced notwithstanding the service department mechanic's opinion. Please advise on how to proceed.

The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who advised that they would contact him at a later date. Hi, i have (5) original equipment bf goodrich rugged trail,(p265/70r16), radial tires on my 2002 toyota tundra pickup truck that have 6,700 miles on them. At approximately 4,500 miles the tires started developeing cracks between the tread of each tire and only got considerably worse with passing time and miles. I contacted bf goodrich which told me to take the vehicle for inspection to a dealer that told me it would cost me almost $200 dollars to have the tires replaced and the other dealer said it would cost well over two hundred dollars for replacement.this second dealer told me i should not have to operate my vehicle with the current and deteriorating condition of these tires. I called bf goodrich back with the results of my dealer inspections, and basically they said what the delaler says, stands. These tires were obviously defective from the bf goodrich factory and i feel that it is only a matter of time before one fails, and blows out while i am traveling down the highway. I do not want to have another firestone atx situation affecting my safety or my passengers safety. I also believe that there are several other owners of these tires that may be subjected to the same tire failure risks that i am under.thanks in advance, john m. Melnick.

Dt:the consumer stated vehicle had bf goodrich ta all season load range e commercial tires.the tread separated from the sidewall on the tires.there was dry rot on the tire approximately half an inch below the tread.this occurred on four of six tires.the last time it felt like vehicle ran over something, and when consumerlooked in the rearviewmirror, he could see the tire on the road.it left the sidewall on the tire.the consumer took the tires to a michellin dealer, and they stated that the remaining tires were bad.then he finally purchased new goodyear tires for the vehicle and left the remaining tires at the dealership.these were on a 1998 fleetwood jamboree.

On october 16, 2014 my truck was damaged due to tread separation on a bf goodrich ? all terrain t/a ko, lt 285 / 65r20 tire (dotbe3f uh11 0912), sold by discount tire company in odessa, tx. My truck is a black 2012 ford, f-350 super duty, fx4, lariat 1. While driving on i-10 traveling east at 67 mph i felt a sudden bumping of one of my tires as i reduced my speed the tread separated from the tire and wrapped around the rear axle of my truck causing damage to my truck. The tire was still inflated and i pulled over to the shoulder of the road. But the damage was so severe that the truck had to be towed.2. The tire did not blow out, it stayed inflated until it was removed from the wheel (rim) by the body shop to be replaced.3. The tire and tread was taken to discount tire (as requested by aaa) to be shipped to michelin for examination, but was destroyed by discount tire (mr. Doug mccollum - store manager txh 34).
