We purchased 4 lt235/75r 15 lrc big foot a/t dual tires at $172.79 a piece 3/14/06, spending $787.31. Sunday 6/24/07 on highway 40 at a speed limit of 75mph, the right front tire blew out, almost flipping us over, which would have created enormous damage to ourselves and our vehicle. Luckily, i stabilized the vehicle and pulled off the road.tuesday 6/26/07 we went to big o tires at 2010 e. Lake mead blvd, north las vegas, nv to get a replacement. Manny was apparently unable to locate a replacement tire, despite checking throughout las vegas and california. How can big o sell tires with a supposed guarantee when they can't locate any such tires with which to replace them?this morning manny put on another brand tire, supposedly of equivalent value and durability. It is a p, not lt, tire?how is that equivalent? it has a speed rating of s vs. The rest of the tires have a speed rating of q. And on the big o tire web site it states, ?never mix tires with different speed ratings, as this may cause serious handling problems.? so much for equivalence! furthermore, it is a spector advanta tire, and i can find absolutely no information on the internet as to who makes this tire. What kind of warranty am i going to have on the tire?i have another toyota truck, which also had a tire blow-out, the day after the one mentioned above. These tires came with our above truck and were not big o tires. The store manager suggested the tires were starting to dry rot, so therefore i purchased 4 brand new tires from him for that truck. He sold me prime well tires, and i had to pay for a road hazard warranty, which would have been included in a purchase of big o tires. He?s checked off that it?s a three-year road-hazard 40,000 mile warranty. In the small print it says, ?every new tire sold by big o tires?carries a manufacturer warranty against material and workmanship?? is that the mileage warranty? by the manufacturer, giti, in china?
Our van also experienced melted headlight sockets failure due to a weak soldering from the wire to the socket.unbelievable that this is not a recall.the dealer's parts department person told me when i ordered the replacement sockets that they sell lots of these sockets.we had intermittent lighting problem on one side, then the other, then total failure of bopth headlights.please report your experience.this must become a recall. I wanted to file multiple other problems: the tires after complaining of wobbling in the steering wheel for 3 years, the dealer said they are offering replacement tires to owners who complain, but not to all owners, and that was not a recall, i did not keep the brand or model of the tires the dealer removed.with the new good year eagle tires the van drives fine. That should have been a recall.a third: the lights and led's of the sound system go on and off intermittently.
Passenger's side front tire wobbled while driving. As a result, the steering wheel shook violently.
