2005 equinox with normal driving, mostly highway.began to hear the typical sounds of a failing bearing prior to 60,000 miles.vibration in steering, hum present when driving, uneven wear on front tires.replaced rfhub under warranty at approx. 69,000 miles.within 10,000 miles that rfhub began to fail, by the time i could get it to the dealership i had surpassed my warranty and the 12 months/12,000 warranty on the installed part via the dealership.was told that it wasn't out of the ordinary for the part to fail so quickly, which is news to me!how can a bearing fail that quickly and not be defective.was forced to pay over 500.00 to replace it.have complained numerous times about a rattle when going over bumpy roads and received the "we couldn't replicate it" response since initial complaint prior to 60,000 miles.have heard that the tierods are to blame, have mentioned it, but still deal with this rattle that goes unaccounted.also have bad electrical that "can't be replicated" at the dealership.radio and panel in dash flash at random times as if a wire were loose or shorting, loud booming thuds come from the speakers at the same time.speaker blew in door, but after warranty.regardless of numerous complaints i would have to pay out of pocket because they couldn't replicate these things when taken in to get looked at.fuel gage sticks, but either have to pay 120.00 to possibly correct it with a fuel system cleaner, or pay 700.00 to replace fuel filter.such great options.my family has worked for general motors for years, it's a shame.

Front & rear wheel bearings on my 2007 jeep patroit.when i first picked up this vehicle as a least vehicle, my father, who is a former chrysler engineering technician of highland park mich told me to take it back to the dealer and have the front and rear wheel bearings inspected. He said he suspects they are faulty because he said he heard them making a grinding noise. As soon as time permitted i did that and the dealership, richmond chrysler replaced the rear bearings only. They supposedly road tested the car and said it was finished. I picked it up and had my father also road test it. He said the front bearings were making a worse noise than ever and they should have caught this at the dealership. When i ask the dealership about it, they said it was no longer covered as my warranty had run out. On monday of this week i was forced to take it back and get it fixed. The dealership has ordered the part three different times and all the bearings were bad and returned by the dealership. They finally received a good set and now they give me a bill of $1400.00. My father retired in 2006 after working 41 years. I think this is very unfair and shows little concern for the costumer who is by law (right) till proven otherwise.i don't mind paying a fair portion of the bill but don't you think it would show good concern for the costumer if you came through too and recognized that they were bad to begin with and covered athalf the cost.your store policy's are to treat all costumers right. So tell me what is fair about this. We've bought chrysler products for over 30 years but i tell you other products on the market are looking better. I feel i shouldn't have to pay anything as i did report this from the very beginning of my lease and it was not corrected. Please comment, because i feel i'm being treated unfairly and i'm at the point of calling the news papers. If you want the bad publicity, fine, i'll be glad to complain to them.

I have a 2005 toyota tacoma trd 4x4 they have replaced my front wheel bearings 6 times know my front diff, the transmission once and my rear end.

This is my second ford vehicle with only 80k miles and on both, all wheel bearings have had failure. And on more than one occasion for a single bearing. It is very costly to repair these defects at approximately $500 per wheel, and is an obvious mechanical and safety hazard. Twice i have been stranded on the highway with a child in the car because the wheel has almost came off. Consumers should not have to repair these defects at their expense to have them continually fail over again. I would like to see to the possibility of a class action lawsuit against ford if they cannot agree to a recall, since there are certainly well enough people with these problems. I have lost any and all interest in this manufacturer and will not consider an american made car in the future.

Wheel bearings on 2002 ford explorer are wearing out without any notice.i never had a car that experienced this issue.this is a sever problem as i drive my small children around in.knowing that a wheel could eventually come off scares the life out of me.there is no recall fromas this is a manufacture defect.

On 5/15/2008 i purchased a wheel bearing from advanced auto parts for my 2000' pontiac grand prix part # nt513121and installed it the same day as per specifications.on 5/31/2008 my son was driving the car to pick me up from work when he stopped at a traffic light the front wheel had suddenly fell off the car. Someone summoned the police and a tow truck. The car was towed to my home and i found that all 5 studs had broken off of the bearing hub. On 6/1/2008 i purchased a new bearing (better quality). At that time i did not return the defective bearing. I returned home and installed the new bearing. On 6/2/2008 when i returned to work i had a rockwell hardness test done on the only remaining stud. We found it only had rc of 22. By the stamping on the stud (10.9 metric) which is equivalent to grade 8 or 33 to 44 r.c. This was a grade 3 case hardened stud which showed a tension break. I then called the manufacturer ntp bearing (1800-322-8983) and told the customer service rep. What had happened. He told me to return the bearing where i purchased it and include my name, address and where i could be contacted for any claim. The reason i am reporting this is if there are more bearings on the market with this defect it could be catastrophic if this happens at any speed. Please let me know if ntp follows up.

Nissan maxima 2004 .my wheel bearing went out in my car i understand this should not have happened to a newer model nissan.
