My aftermarket webasto hollandia 700 sunroof had started to develop wind noise and was leaking. I removed the sunroof glass to replace the weather stripping when i discovered that the adhesive bond between the sunroof glass and the metal frame has de-bonded. The front frame of the sunroof has completely de-bonded and came off the glass, and most of the side frames that secure the glass to the vehicle have de-bonded as well. There is significant corrosion between the glass and the frame in the side frames.the glass is only being held on by small portions of the metal frame on the side. I reviewed the nhtsa recall information and found a related recall, nhtsa action number: eq10007, https://www.nhtsa.gov/equipment-detail/webasto/hollandia%252520700/a__930769#investigations. I also found similar documentation on the webasto web site: http://sunroofcheck.us/identify-your-sunroof.html. However, the serial number of my sunroof is 6416157, which is outside of the recall range of 6000000 and 6396298.the glass on this sunroof is barely being held on by the remaining adhesive. The glass on this sunroof could easily completely de-bond and fly off the vehicle endangering other motorists.the recall must be expanded to include additional webasto hollandia sunroofs to ensure the safety of motorists on our roadways.

The aftermarket webasto hollandia 700 glass sunroof on my 2005 gmc denali completely departed the car as i was driving down us 101 at 60 mph. I saw through the rear-view mirror it hit the pavement behind me. Traffic was heavy and it was a miracle another vehicle was not hit. Holding what was left of the sunroof together with my right hand, i made it home where the car has been parked for the last five weeks. Searching the internet i discovered that my sunroof was part of a webasto recall, so i contacted the manufacturer, sending them pictures of the damage and the original installation receipt. That was a month ago and i have heard nothing more despite sending multiple emails to webasto ([email protected]). The car is worthless to me in this condition. There is a recall (https://www.webasto.com/uploads/media/webasto-press-pm01-recall-h700-eng.pdf) and it should be repaired by webasto. This is unacceptable.*dt
