The contact owns a set of weather tech aftermarket all weather floor mats (part number: 442921/00525) that were being utilized in a 2013 hyundai tucson. The contact was driving approximately 25 mph when he noticed that the weather tech aftermarket floor mats on the front driver's side had become loose and enveloped the accelerator pedal, causing an unusual clicking noise.the floor mat was removed from the vehicle.the manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 6,000.updated 3/13/13

I have had a recurring problem with the loss of the snap grommet on my weathertech w257tn front floor mats that secures front floor mat on my 2015 mercedes-benz ml250. The grommet detaches from the floor mat when the mat is removed and gets lost when vehicle is detailed at my local mercedes-bens dealership. I am told by weathertech that they no longer provide a replacement grommet.in the past weathertech has provided replacement grommets at no charge, so they are well aware of this issue.the only solution weathertech offered was to purchase replacement floor mats.it is unreasonable to have to purchase an entire new pair of front floor mats just to replace a single grommet that should not detach in the first place. Weathertechs customer service agent cited a safety issue as the reason weathertech no longer provides replacement grommets. When i inquired what the safety issue was, the agent explained that without the grommet the floor mat could slide forward and block the pedals. That logic seems backwards, i.e., but not providing the grommet weathertech is creating the very safety issue cited as the reason for no longer provide replacement grommets.when i pointed out this safety contradiction, the weathertech customer service representative hung up on me. Looks like my only recourse is to file this safety complaint with the us department of transportations national highway safety administration?
