In november 2016 i replaced our 2011 camry oem brake pads and rotors with wagner pads and rotors. These pads have a metal shim between pad and piston to reduce noise. Each shim has four bent tabs to hold it in place. The driver-side brake started making a grinding noise. Investigation revealed that the outer two tabs straightened in operation, allowing the shim to migrate inward and eventually contacting the rotor, cutting a deep groove in the hat area of the rotor. See photos. See photos. This is a potentially dangerous failure that could cause the brake to fail. Checking the internet, this is a fairly common failure mode.at least one brake failure was reported.

I recently had to have my front brake rotors changed.under normal circumstances this would have been routine operator maintenance.the problem is that the rotors that had to be changed only had 19,000 miles on them under very easy driving conditions.when the old rotors were removed they looked like they had been used under extreme driving conditions.for the normal driver this could have been a very dangeerous situation.i have a mechanics background and realized that something was wrong early on and was able to prevent anything dangerous from happening.these rotors were literally falling apart.the surfaces were chipping off and the fins in the center were rusting thru after only 19,000 miles.they looked like rotors that had at least 3 times that amount of wear and tear on them.these rotors were turned over to the engineers at vrtc so that they could take a close look at them.the engineers name is bill collins(nhtsa).he has the manufacturers information and i can provide him with a copy of the repair reciept that will verify the amount of miles the were on the rotors.

I have a 1999 subaru legacy wagon with 4 wheel disc brakes and 15 inch wheels.every time the front disk pads are replaced, the mechanic gets the pads for 15 inch wheels the are installed and the car will not stop.what we have discovered is that the front take the disk pads for 14 inch wheels and the rear take the disk pads for 15 inch wheels.

Installation of new wagner halogen replacement sealed beam headlight beam (7" diam, h6024); light beam pattern too high with known correct aim.complaints from other drivers blinded by headlight beam.suspected a defective headlight, replacement wagner headlight had the same issue.replaced wagner headlamps with ge, solved the problem.suspect design/manufacturing problem w/ wagner.have retained problem wagner headlights, available upon request.also notified wagner about this issue over one month ago, no response received.

I bought a 2008 dodge grand caravan in june 09 with 5,000 miles.as of today, at 57000 miles it is on it is needing its fifth set of brakes and rotors.i have been driving for20 yrs and have never had to replace brakes at a rate like this.by this time i should have had to replace maybe one set at a maximum. Chrysler has failed to admit their mistake in undersizing brakes which clearly are being "eaten up" at a rate 5-6 times what they should.chrysler did reimburse me $100 for a $500 brake job one time stating that they realized that original brakes were basically shoddy, but they have failed to admit that there is a problem with the design of the van itself.in fact, they blamed the problem on the epa no longer allowing asbestos in the brakes.if this is the case, why isn't everyone else on the road replacing brakes at this astronomical rate?i have had numerous cars, both new and used, and i have never had to replace brakes like this.i am very angry regarding this and feel that this should be publicized so as to not put others at risk for becoming victims of the same disappointing situation of a van.i personally plan on trading this van as soon as i am able.
