I have took my car in numerous time for the squeking brakes.also, the thermostat has been replaced for the 4th time.i have had my car since nov of 2001. Since then i have had it in the dealer ship about 10 times.i have taken it to 2 different dealers.the brakes they just blow out and say it is mettalic dust. That i need to clear them out when the car is washed. The squeak still comes back. They have also told me it is the humidity doing this.the thermostat has been replaced for the 4th time today.also, i have had problems with my locks and enigne light coming on all the time. I have had problems with the air bag light also. The car has been nothing but problems.i have notified the kia consumer customer services no help at all.my complaints go back about 1 yr.it all started in jan of 2002
My 2000 ford mustang lost all its power after i just pulled out of a parking lot.i then noticed smoke coming from under the hood on the passenger site.about 1-2 minutes later i saw flames coming from the same place.as i exited the car and closed the door all the interior lights flashed on and a horrid noise came from the front right side of the car.i immediately called the fire department but by the time they arrived 10-15 foot high flames were shooting in the air from the front of the car [this all started to happen incredibly fast] and there also was lots of black smoke.one of the firemen/ladies told me that it looked likr the fire had started in the wiring.all of the front of the car burned out including the hood and someof the dash inside melted and the front windshild started to crack from the heat of the fire.
Engine coil?? my a4 has now been towed four times do to misfiring. They have replaced the engine coil now four times but last saurday was the one that broke the camels back. When your on the toll in rush hour at 65 miles an hour with no shoulder its usually a bad thing when your car stalls out and begins to shake violently.out at 10,000-18,000-20,000-and now it is in a shop why i drive a rented accord(it gets better they tell me that the part is on back order-maybe in a couple days? did somebody say lemon-law.
(second time) we where driving on the 10 fwy with our girls to drop them for the week because we where going on vacation to vegas. That is when the "brand new truck died" it was due to the same reasons sensor and other problem.it had been in the moss dodge dealership since june 13, 2003 . Today is june 20, 2003 we have not heard from them since tuesday. As we where driving on the 10 fwy the truck died completely with the traffic behind us in the fast lane on the freeway. I believe that this truck is not repairable. I also believe that there is to much wrong with this trucks sensor which give the power to drive.this truck to me and my family is consider dangerous to drive from the experience we had on june 13, 2003. We have been complaining but not even the general manager has called us back. We even asked for a corp. Office they said they did not have one. Which is hard to believe. *nlm
Gas fumes so over powering that you had to drive with the windows down after you filled up the car with gasoline. Gas tank had a leak and all the dash was replaced at dealer. However there are shortages in the electrical system that cause the visor lamps to not work and the automatic lights and relays in the wipers do not operate properly. When the heat is on the gas fumes and monoxide is strong again . I thought the problem was rectified when they fixed it but it still tends to act up.*nlm
Since 2000, my 1989 ford tempo had broken down four times, twice in heavy traffic.each time, i have been told the problem was with the alternator, and i had it replaced.now, in april of 2003, the alternator is about to die yet again.my car has 99,000 miles and is driven less than 10,000 miles per year.five alternators in three years is not from normal wear and tear on a car.i believe there is a defect in the ford tempo system that needs to be investigated.and i see from other filed complaints i am not the only person who has had this problem.
1993 honda civic lx stalled while in motion.the first incident occurred when the odometer read about 100,000 miles back in 2000.the problem was pinpointed to a faulty ignitor which was promptly replaced.luckily no one was injured nor was there an accident.recently in may 13, 2003 the same part failed with the odometer reading 165,000 miles.obviously this is a design flaw.this part and/or distributor prematurely caused such failure.aside from this vehicle, a 1993 honda accord ex coupe also had the similar part replaced before the odometer reached 100,000 miles.
Ignition cylinder broke without any signs, and was stuck without a car for a week.
I purchased a vehicle form chesrown gmc/kia in columbus ohio. I bought it on june 3rd 2002 paid $10500.00+ $892.00 (extend warranty)when i bought the car i opted for the extended warranty.since that time, i have had fuel pump, feul switch, feul line, fuel injectors of my car go bad (more than once!).while driving the car on a heavily traveled street the engine just stopped!my husband got out to push the vehicle putting him in danger. I took the vehicle out the next day and on three separate occasions the engine ceased.i took it to the dealer and the technicians said i dont know what it is & they finally concluded it had a bad fuel pump.they replaced it.less than 24 hours later, i was at the shop again!the fuel pump that they put in didn't work either.i have a serious health problem which requires i be on blood thinners.an accident for a normal person would be harmful, for me it would mean almost certain death.i am scared to drive the car.i have spent thousands of dollars trying to fix it.i am contacting you to ask for your help. My uncle had the same make & model (old aurora 97')his could not be fixed.i believe that this car is a lemon.i have put more than enough time, money & grief into trying to get it working.this particular vehicle is a dangerous one.please help me with this issue. I am just asking for what every reasonable person would.a mechanically safe vehicle.i appreciate you taking this issue seriously, as i do not want to continue to put myself in unnecessary danger.i would be happy to provide you with every record of service & dates etc if you would like to have them (once i get it back form the shop).sincerely, susan m. I imported a 1986 chevrolet blazer. The customs person that inspected it "didn't understand" the dot tag so i had to take it to an ri. In addition, the dot rep said he didn't understand it either. One year and about 2500 dollars later i got my vehicle. What needed to be done? a key buzzer was installed. It operates when i have the key in the ignition and the door is open.how ridiculous. It almost appears that someone was trying to justify their job at dot. What is worse is there are thousands of these vehicles driving around today in the us without this modification. I was told this buzzer is an "anti-theft device". Be serious, that does absolutely nothing except create alot of noise. Someone needs to explain to me why it took so long, why this completely useless piece of hardware had to be installed and why no one at dot understands their own labels.

I have a 2000 nissan quest,i have had to replace the connector to the passenger side headlight 3x's since aug of 2002.the connecto burns out.the most recent incident was 07/10/03.my husband replaced the connector and it burnt out by the next day 07/11/03. My concern is an electical fire.
The vehicle runs fine, but when you stop at light or sign the vehcle will stall. You can even put in neutral when you stop and still stalls. Now the truck is having problems starting. It back fires and runs rough for a min. To start you have to hold the throlle down for a min. Has had full tune up and new catalitic convert.
!)at 36,246 miles, bolts holding tie rods to steering box broke while i was traveling on interstate. Had to fight dodge to cover under warranty. Originally had vehicle in for 'wandering steering' before warranty expired. They replaced steering box, tie rods, ball joints, idler arm and other related componets.2)18,276 miles later, same dealership states needs new tie rods, idler arm, pitman arm, and ball joints on left front. Feel these parts should be replaced free as they replaced themselves only 18,000 miles ago. Have provided proper maintenance. In the meantime, getting these areas greased and examined as directed in owners manual by certified mechanics.3)same dealership this week replaced header and manifold gaskets stating they were burned up due to our using platinum tip spark plugs which supposedly caused gaskets to burn up and allow oil to leak into cylinder. ($459)they also had to replace the catalytic coverter (under warranty). Through research on internet, have found that the intake on this particular vehicle is defective and causes exact problems i was charged for. We were never notified of this problem, have documentation that vehicle was in their shop on or around the time at least 2 of these bulletins were issued with the same complaints they were told to look for (overheating, smelling of burning coming from engine, smell of raw gas inside vehicle). As far as we can tell, they have never checked or replaced the intake. Vehicle: 1997 dodge ram extended cab laramie edition. 5.2 l , v-8 engine. I feel this dealership is lying about the problems and placing our lives in danger by not properly inspecting and explaining problems. In regards to the newest tie rod recommendation, they stated that "customer declined work". I did not decline the work, i just asked them to pay for it since they did the work such a short time ago.
I had both the passenger side window and the driver side window fall into the door frame within a matter of months.both times the windows were fixed, however, they were reluctant to fix the problem as if it had been my fault. I have a small child and i don't think he appreciates asphyxiation from so much wind in his face on the long drives to the dealer to be replaced.this is just one of the problems on this car, the clutch gets stuck (repaired twice), the sunroof trim broke off and needed to be replaced, the engine makes a rattling noise when shifting (fixed twice), stereo system swallowed my cd (twice before new system installed), and air conditioning releases an awful moldy smell when turned on which dealer refuses to attempt to fix.bought car in valencia volkswagen in valencia, ca.solution simple, traded in my 1yr old car for a better car, one that works!

I recently sent a letter to the mitsubishi motors corporation regarding my 1998 mitsubishi eclipse spyder (please re-read attached). I was contacted by the corporate office regarding my erratic shift problem in my automatic transmission and was eventually told that i wouldnt be provided any sort of assistance on my vehicle. I find it appalling that the same problem occurred several times to my car when i was well within the warranty period for my car (before 50,000 miles). I took my car into the mitsubishi service center, and got the response: technician cannot duplicate problem at this time. If problems persist, please being the vehicle back. i took the car to different mitsubishi service centers several times after that, and got the same response ( i have documentation on this). Now, because your service technicians couldnt identify my cars problem when i was in the warranty period, i am being held liable. After several weeks of research, i have found numerous web sites documenting problems with mitsubishi eclipse vehicles, ranging from the years 1990-present. I have found a great deal of mitsubishi eclipses with the exact same problem. This problem is not regular wear and tear or driver related issues, it is an issue with the engineering of the transmission in the vehicle (several mechanics will swear to this statement, since they have worked on several cars with this problem). Below are some quotes from the websites proving that this problem is consistent with mitsubishi eclipse vehicles: transmission problem at 50,000. Car would pop out of 4th gear when accelerating to get on highway. "<http://www.carsurvey.org/review_32883.html>1991 mitsubishi eclipse mileage: 73000. The car is an automatic transmission.it is having erratic shifting problems although they only occur when the car is not at the mechanics. " <http://www.2carpros.com/makes/mitsubishi/eclipse.htm>

On occasion, the car has lost power in traffic, which has resulted in loss of power steering and power brake control.the dealership has diagnosed the conditions resulting in power loss as a problem with the fuel pump.this problem has progressively worsened.
Vehicles with extremely bright headlights cause a danger to other drivers.i am not talking about drivers with their high beams on, i'm referring to regular headlights that are unusually bright.i was almost in an accident on the 405 freeway last night because a driver behind me with bright headlights blinded me and i veered into the next lane because we were on a curve and i couldn't see well enough to stay in my lane.i have heard many of my friends compalin about cars with bright headlights almost causing accidents for them because the light can be blinding, similar to a flash bulb on a camera going off in your face in a dark room. These bright lights should not be legal for regular driving use, they should be used only in the same conditions that high beams are used.

I was traveling by auto through wichita, ks, last friday on i-135, enroute home to dallas.a cement wall was on my left (construction), a semi-truckwas on my right/front/rear.i was traveling with traffic at approx. 65 mphwhen a large fire extinguisher appeared in the road.i had no choice but to hit it, which exploded my left front tire, throwing the extinguisher under my car.i was able to get about 100 yds further to pull off, maintaining control of my vehicle.the 3 state troopers that came by a few minutes later were able to remove the fire extinguisher from the road.they said that since the requirement for semi's to carry a fire extinguisher went intoeffect, they were always having to pick up fire extinguishers lost by the trucks.i can see the need for carrying fire extinguishers, but it concerns me that they aren't secured better.had the extinguisher been airborne, it would have gone through the windshield and probably killed me and someone in the next traffic lane.
Power locks actuator seems to be going bad on a the lhs. Is there a way to look at the repair shop for chrysler to see how many power locks actuator are going bad. I have a brother and a cousin that are having the same problem with their lhs .
The loading ramp fell off the trailer as i was traveling down the highway.it completely separated from the trailer and fell in front of another vehicle.there are no safety devices to keep the ramp from separating from the trailer.

I have a '03 mitsubishi galant (automatic) which now has approx 8000 miles.at approx. 4500 miles the vehicle began hesitating upon hard acceleration, such as when entering a freeway.the vehicle also hesitates while driving in "stop and go" traffic, such as what is done with in-town driving in traffic.at first i believed i had filled the gas tank with bad gasoline.the vehicle acted like it had a clogged fuel filter/line.i continued driving the vehicle while trying to figure out what was wrong.a warning light finally came on and i took the vehicle in to the dealer where i purchased it on 6/9/03.i was informed that there was a problem with the transmission.the dealer kept the vehicle for approx 3 weeks to make the repairs.diagnosis:internal trans failure upon inspection fournd 4th gear clutch past clearance out of spec and clutches burned.replaced 4th gear clutches and reset snap ring clearance.insp 2nd brake piston and replaced o-rings.removed valve body.insp and found check ball wearing through separator plate.replaced valve body separator plate.replace seal from valve body to 2nd brake.i picked up my vehicle 6/27/03.after driving for one day, i am experiencing the same problems.my concern is that this is a safety hazard.when trying to get onto a freeway and/or manuevering through in town traffic, this vehicle is posing a hazard for myself and/or other drivers. I will return the vehicle to the dealer as soon as i determine what my options are.please feel free to contact me if there are any questions or to let me know if i need to report this to another agency.thanks.

The abs light was coming on intermittently.after consulting the web i learned this was a common problem in the 98 s70's.volvo is aware of the problem! while driving with the condition i noticed if the abs pump cycled and the lights come on you lose braking unless you pump the brakes.extremely dangerous condition for a many drivers.i'm a law enforcement officer and my training helped me avoid the accident.*nlm

I have a mini copper s and the windshield cracks very easy. I have talked to mini usa, and they said that it is not their problem. But this has happen to so manymini owner, i think that it is a mini usa problem. Cause why would so many mini windshields crack all the time.
Windshields on mini coopers cracking, chipping easy and frequently.i have had four windshields replaces in the last 8 months. 2 covered under warrantee for stress related cracks and two due to small rock strikes. I have neve been thru windshields like this before and feel that the construction and design of the mini windshield makes it substandard in protection.

I am a professional driver with over 1 mil acident free miles. Every year the headlights get aimed worse, the technology gets brighter and sometimes wider dispersion (blinding) and more drivers drive fulltime with fog lights (non-lenticular lens). Manufacturers are encouraging this process with the manufacture of autos with big fog lights and failing to label them with restrictive use warnings.in addition, their advertising always shows vehicles with these lights on in their advertisments. Because of the severityi am forced to block out their lights (at the rate of about one in twenty-five) with my hand, and therefore will have no opportunity to avoid an accident if they cross the center line since i cannot see them.police in every state must be told to enforce existing laws against full-time fog lights and must regulate the brightness and aim of headlights. The problem has become epidemic.

The steering, suspension, and wheels suck!!! on my 2000 dodge durango.n feb. 15, 2003 while driving my durango, it totally lost control, causing me to side swipe one car, then cause damage to asecond and third car. I continue to drive a vehicle that i do not feel safe in.with four children i can not afford to purchase another car. If i could get out of my contract with dodge and trade it in for a safer suv, i would.when ridingi constantly experience my rear wheels sliding to my right; this usually happens whenever i ride over pot holes or bumps in the street, which is practically evey couple dozen feet in the city.my driving experience with my 2000 dodge durango is so unsatisfying.prior to me purchasing my dodge, i was the owner of not one, but two toyota camry's.i made the choice not to go back to the toyota dealer to purchase an suv.instead, as a token of my appreciation to my country.i thought it was best to purchase an american made vehicle; you know, keep the money at home.every day i questioned that theory. Usually i'm not this harsh of a person, but when it comes down to my children's safety; well, i get pretty pissed.we limit our long distance traveling time.i totally do not drive when its raining, unless i absolutely have to.on highways i drive at least 5-10 miles under the speed limit; for fear of losing control.and to top things off i have this grinding type noise up and around my axle thing; that no one at the two dodge repair garages seems to know what it is exactly.i had my ball joints replaced twice.one month after i got brand new brakes put on, they started to squeak.i was told that the majority of dodge suv's brakes squeak, its just how the manufacturers make them; go figure.

On occasion, the car has lost power in traffic, which has resulted in loss of power steering and power brake control.the dealership has diagnosed the conditions resulting in power loss as a problem with the fuel pump.this problem has progressively worsened.

Dashboard is warped and is curling up into thefront windshield causing an obsticalwhile driving. Dash board was replaced once with the same recalled dashboard.
I was traveling on the 60 e. In ca around 6:30 pm, when a motorist hit a piece of tire tread that bounced on to my windshield and immediiately shattered my windshield.i would like to know who is responsible for picking up such debris?i could have been killed or seriously maimed.in addition, now i have to pay for a new windshield.
I have a mini copper s and the windshield cracks very easy. I have talked to mini usa, and they said that it is not their problem. But this has happen to so manymini owner, i think that it is a mini usa problem. Cause why would so many mini windshields crack all the time.
