Within 6 months of purchase of new toyota rav4 vehicle, we had onset of acid smell whenever air-conditioner turned on.after about 3 minutes, the odor dissipates, and air-conditioner functions adequately.there is no odor when heat is turned on.we had no time to deal with it for several months, but about a year after purchase we went to toyota dealer (where we bought the car) to complain about the odor.they changed the air-conditioner filter, but still the odor persists.only the dealer has worked on our car.is the acid vapor harmful to the occupants of our car?why doesn't it go away?the dealer doesn't know how to fix it...what should we do?it has now been going on for about 1.5 years!
The latch on the tailgate on my 2001 sequoia has now broke 3 times.today it was acting funny.i brought it into schaumburg toyota.instead of warranting it since it was replaced february 20, 2008, they put wd40 on it and sent me on my way.tonight i opened my back door and it broke again.we brought it back in and they won't cover it.
The vsc/ trac light will remain on, turn off by itself, not respond to pressing of the vsc/ trac button.
Car would not go over 45-50 mph. Currentlyat dealership for a new transmission .
Rear car seat belt did not work in new toyota corolla 2011 se. My daughter fell down 2 times in week.
Driving north on alvernon in the left lane between 37th and palo verde the front left wheel of the 2001 toyota tundra separated from the vehicle.the wheel remained under the vehicle attached to the front drive shaft.failure of the ball joints is suspected.approximate speed was 40 mph.after separation the vehicle tracked straight for approximate 100 feet, i then controlled the vehicle and move to the far side of the right lane and stopped.damage to the front wheel drive system, wheel, front bumper, front left panel, abs system and other expected damage occurred.no damage to other vehicles on the road or significant property damage other than damage to the roadway.at this time there are not related physical damage or injury to myself (i was alone when this occurred) or anyone else.toyota at this time has refused to make repairs of the vehicle due to this mechanical failure.there is a recall nhtsa campaign id 05v225000 for this type of failure, but currently does not include the 2001 year for this make and model.
Toyota tacoma frames are rusting out prematurely. Mine is a 1998 in excellent condition and only 45,000 miles. Just bought brand new wheels,tires,and other accesories that totalled over $1,000 and now it won't pass inspection and they say even if i fix it ,it will continue to rust and i will have to keep repairing it. Please help us in a class action suit and let the public know that toyotas are not the premier company anymore and to buy american !

I purchased a brand, new 2008 toyota yaris in march 2008 at valley toyota in hanson, california. I am the sole owner and the only driver. During the timeframe between january 11th to january 15th, 2011, the abs light and the brake lights came on repeatedly. As recommended by the manual, i parked the car until i could get an appointment with a servicing dealer. The automobile is only 2 years and 10 months in my possession and i still owe $13, 865.00 on it. The mileage is 98% federal interstate miles. I paid $ 1,031.84 on wednesday, 19th of january 2011 for 2 rear hubs and 2 skid control wires and had to return the car to the servicing dealer on saturday, january 22nd for remaining repair tasks which cost another $ 323.75. In total i have paid toyota a grand total of $1,355.59 to repair the abs wires and harness which were corroded according to the technicians. Once again, the car was purchased by me as a brand, new auto in march of 2008 with less than 89,000 miles (98% highway miles). To have paid $ 1, 355.59 to toyota for the abs system is deployable as the company is aware of a seemingly systemic problem of corrosion with the abs on toyota yaris models dating back to 2007. My research shows that the company has only issued technical service bulletins to dealership service departments and not to customers in september 2007 and in june or july 2008. In view of previous recalls for other models, toyota has been extremely negligent and not responsible to my calls regarding this issue. As the servicing dealer has not been responsive or forthcoming regarding my inquiries, i don't know if the old parts are still available as of this writng (25th of january 2011).
Fail state car inspection due to illegal installation of headlights by a company doing business in the city of chesapeake. Premier sound who installed a $400.00 plus headlights on my 97 toyota 4runner did not tell me that this headlights would not pass state inspection. Now to replace the harness on this vehicle in order to pass the state inspection would cost me $900.00 plus . Is this something that the state would regulate and say you must tell the customer that what i'm installing in your vehicle is illegal? this kind of people are dead on the money to rip you off by not telling you that this is not legal. Premier sound is just in my neighborhood, ain't that something. What can i do now. The law must be change to make them honest to the community they do business with. Please help congressman out there and be sympathetic to the citizen like me who live in chesapeake, va. Sincerely,f.i. Cantada
