Over the last 3 weeks i have experienced 3 tire valve failures with damage to tires.the car is a 2007 pontiac solstice gxp with aftermarket wheels and tires installed by the dealer.the valves functioned without leakage for about 1.5 years then in rapid succession, 3 failures.all tire valves have now been replaced.i am now faced with some tire replacements, towing and alignments due to these failures.i am certain these are part of the defective recall.i was able to save 1 of the valves (both halves) should it be required.
In the last six months i have had three valve stem failures resulting in two destroyed tires. In the last forty years of driving i have never had a valve stem failure and this morning's almost caused my wife to have an accident on her way to work at 4:30am. After the second valve stem failure i had wheel works tire company replace all valve stems to only have another failure in less then six months. If these stems are coming from china then something needs to be done and soon.
Re:complaint #10231026; i just received the defective valve stem from the second flat tire i experienced last week.now that i have it in hand i see that the identification on it is as follows:atr414, made in germany, with what appears to be the number 89 also on the rim.i hope this information will assist you in tracking down the defective products to prevent a possible accident.
