2002 monte carlo ss with steering safety problems steering column replaced front end replaced still unsafe and in shop. Recall center shows no recalls for steering column dealer says there is and there have been reports of cracked frames but these are just what they called "tech bulletins from other dealer"there was also a recall on a coolant problem not listed. 1-160465811 chevy complaint number.*nlm

Failure has not occurred as of yet, but have had entire front-end replaced on vehicle on 9/12/2002. On 3/31/2004 we had vehicle checked again and was told by the dealership that the left side lower control are was worn and will need to be replaced again soon. I have receipts and quotes from dealership and will be happy to submit copies.

2002 jeep liberty: since purchase at 6k miles and 6 months old the vehicle has had major issues and i feel unsafe driving it but cannot get a new car at this time.tow bills topping $1000 since purchase in 2003.between 2003-2004 the jeep was at the dealer several times due to internal grinding, difficulty steering which increased when braking, and felt like it was in 4high all the time.took to dealership but they could not figure out issue.fiance was driving & we heard loud bang vehicle started jerking & making a grinding noise, then we spun into a median and came to a stop not hitting anything luckily. Turned off and back on and seemed to work fine. It broke down again in lexington, ky during rush hour traffic about 2 days after the dealer told me the problem was in the anti lock braking system.we lost all gears and started rolling backwards at a redlight almost hitting a car until i pulled up emergency brake.it had to be towed to dealer. Transfer case had cracked and exploded at less than 30k miles.dealer replaced under warranty with refurbished parts.has broken down several times with sensor issues & battery problems.has been towed at least 3 times when sensor problem was not properly fixed at dealer and overlooked as the problem. Entire time i have owned my jeep the steering wheel has had a major shaking and rattling action which increases when applying brakes due to recall on ball joints & issues with steering column according to dealership when asked why it will not drive & brake smoothly. After fixing recall jeep worked fine for about 3 months then goes back to previous issues again.ball joint issue causes much difficulty in steering and braking properly and makes me feel unsafe & uncomfortable driving it.i feel as though the ball joint issue prior to & after recall repair has still not been fixed and seems to worsening.

2004 mini cooper, had several problem with front excel , hydoroplates and dangerous car to drive.

1998 ford windstari had to have the front tie rod ends replacedtwice with only 47k miles. From what i understand talking to repairgarages this seems to be a common problem with windstar vans. *nlm

I have a 2001 dodge durango. After seeing a report on the ball joints on tv i took my vehicle in to be checked. Good thing i did because the right ball joint was about to break and had to be replaced. The left ball joint has some wear but was not replaced at this time. There is a definite problem and it needs to be addressed.

There is a thumping sound in the front end which send a vibration through the body of the car while going over dips and steering at low speeds.it has been in the shop 5 times and the current diagnoses is that it's a normal noise.confirmed with other dealers that the noise is not normal.visit 1:replaced sway bar bushings.visit 2:replaced right lower control armvisit 3:replaced right front strutvisit 4:replaced power steering gear assembly and both torsion bar supportsvisit 5:"it's a normal noise"i've test driven other new cars and the noise is not present.i will be persuing the lemon law at this time.

10/26/01 l front lwr control arm broke, the car bounced down the road when susp came apart. Gville mitz replaced the parts at the cost of the manf. The vehicle had 104000 mi at that time.items listed on repair invoice: arm assy (fr susp), shaft assy (fr axl), shield kit splash, air dam side fr lh, end assy, tie rod, fender fr lh12/8/07susp broke again. While driving i thought the drv side front tire had popped. I let off the gas/ tried to pull the vehicle over.i was in the llane near an interstate entrance.when i was near the barrier the vehicle jumped left.it made contact with the concrete wall, i pulled the wheel back towards the right.when i did this the broken left front susp/tire went beneath the car.the auto was catapulted onto the concrete barrier on it's nose.the car was completely airborne at this time (for appx 150-200 ft)part of the car hit the concrete pillar of the underpass and flung my car back to the ground.both airbags deployed when the vehicle came down.even with my restraint on my body slid under the steering wheel when the car catapulted on the concrete ledge.when the driverside airbag deployed the got the left side of my head where my abdomen should have been.the damages:bumper assembly, front, cover, front bumper, headlamp assy, halog headlamps aim/lamp, side marker, fender front, skirt, inner fendertwheel, front l, knuckle, steering l/f, arm, lower control l/f windshield, airbag, steering wheel, airbag, instrument pnlpanel, rocker lt, pnl, front door out, repairi received a concussion from the airbag/back problems etcthis car is up for auction on the 18th, it is myhopes that it is not placed back on the roadways.who knows what other types of damage the vehicle sustained, the crash was never correctly evaluated.the local police listed i hit a metal guard rail.the vehicle damages does not indicate contact with a metal guard rail(it does not have marks on it).appx 50 pics avail.

Control arms for the front suspension fail frequently. On 2/29/04 a control arm broke while pulling out of my driveway. I have replaced 7 so far, with 2 more needing to be done. Some are on the second time in the 1.5 years i have owned the car. There were 4 other same model cars in the shop for the same thing that day. This is a common problem that is dangerous and is known by audi, or should be known by them. At times, you can't get the part because they fail so frequently. My shop recommended filing a complaint because it is a dangerous situation and he sees it every day. At $200 a control arm, it gets very expensive.

With typical street driving, my vehicle seemed to be out of alignment. After having it checked, it was found the solid steel trackbar drop bracket which keeps the front axle of the vehicle in alignment was cracked almost in half. The vehicle has not been in a wreck, abused or neglect. All maintenance is current and up to date. After contacting the manufacture, skyjacker suspension, they mandated that i purchase another one of their brackets which no engineering changes have been made. At my expense, i must also ship the broken steel bracket back to them for review/analysis and potential reimbursement. Clearly, there needs to be an engineering design change to this product. After trying to obtain reimbursement from skyjacker, they stated everything must be done thru a dealer. The dealer requested i buy another bracket also. In order to get my vehicle back on the road, i purchased and installed a bracket from another mfg. Which is designed differently.i have an unsettling time of purchasing the same product twice from a mfg. When no changes have been made, especially those which relate to safety of their product. If the product was to fail completely while traveling down the highway it could potentially cause loss of control of the vehicle, accident, injury or death of the driver or passengers. The skyjacker suspension bracket (part number dtb45) was quoted to cost $178. The bracket i purchased from tough country cost $125.i have the cracked bracket and pictures available if needed. Thank you for your time and consideration in the review of this incident.

I was informed that i would need to replace the ball joint suspension on my 2005 jeep liberty before it could pass inspection.when i called the chrysler recall hotline, the representative stated that they would not pay for repairs to the liberty b/c it was already repaired during the recall.but they were more than willing to help me find a dealership to where i would pay for the repair.this was from a faulty design, this is not from wear and tear that occurs when owning a vehicle.

I was informed today that my 1999 dodge durango needs upper ball joints forthe second time since i have owned the car. The first time the car had 33,327 miles on it and this time it has 87,000. I owned the car for two years the first time and now it will be five years in april 2004. Thefirst time herb chambers dodge replaced both upper control arms and both lower ball joints.

Defective front end suspension parts sold by performance suspension technology.the original front suspension parts on my 1969 chevrolet kingswood station wagon went 170,000 miles before needing replacement. I purchased a front end rebuild kit from performance suspention technology, pob 396, monville. Nj 07045 on 01/04/01. After approximately 6,000 miles i noticed that the car would pull violently to the right or left when the brakes were applied. I rebuilt the entire brake system and had the same breaking problem. At 10,300 miles after the front end rebuild i noticed abnormal inside tire wear. I took the car to my front end shop and they informed me that the lower load bearing ball joints were worn well beyond specifications.if properly cared for ball joints can wear this rapidly under normal conditions itindicates that the metalurgy is highly defective and that this critical suspension part could prematurely fail at any time causing serious injury or death to many motorists.pst admits they have had rapid wear problems with ball joints, yet continue to sell them and have failed to notify customers of possible safety hazards.

2004 pontiac gto tire blow outwe purchased our 2004 pontiac gto new, and have had issues with rubbing sounds and vibrations since it was new. The car currently has 45,000 miles and we had a blow out. Apparently the tires on 2004 gto's rub the spring pocket of the strut causing the inner side wall of the tires to fail prematurely. It is impossible to see the wear unless the tire is removed from the vehicle. Pontiac has replaced the tires once under warranty due to this issue, but when i returned to gm to announce that the previous "fix" did not work - they dismissed me stating the vehicle was out of warranty. This is our third set of tires within 45,000 miles and my wife feels that the car is unsafe to drive because of her blowout experience. I need gm to come up with a solution to this problem. I have researched and spoken to many gto owners only to find that they all have the same issue, and some dealers have retrofitted gto's with the appropriate 18" wheel and tire combination, but carl black in roswell ga and the district manager "rod" will do nothing to help us. Please - can you help?

2008 mercury sable, multiple recurrence suspension failures/replacements needed over the past 6 years.

Ball joint failure @ 33,684 and 45,000 miles

I purchased a pair of tubular upper a frames for my personal vehicle which was manufactured by djm suspension 580 west 184th street gardena ca 90248. The bolts/nuts that hold the ball joints to the a frames do not have sufficient grade rating for their application. Typically on vehicle suspension parts the us automotive industry uses grade 8 rated bolts/nuts for strength and reliability. Grade rated bolts are easily identified by the markings on the bolt head. The bolts included with this product are marked to be rated at class 10.9 but the nuts included are clearly not rated to the same level as the bolts are marked. Thus these bolts/nuts failed to properly retain the ball joint to the a frame while under spring pressure. These failed on my vehicle before the vehicle could be reassembled, and or driven.the concern here is for the less educated consumer of this product who buys these and has the front suspension fail while driving on a public street. I resolved the problem on my vehicle by going to the local auto parts store and purchased quality grade 8 fasteners to replace these. I'm not seeking any monetary/compensation from this issue. I'm just trying to "do the right thing" by raising awareness and making these parts safer. However when i tried contacting the manufacturer directly. They were extremely unwilling to hear anything i had to say, or to see my evidence of this complaint.i saved the failed fasteners included with these a frames and took a video showing the failed fasteners as they were at the time of failure, as proof to my claim.

I bought this link from a company that is selling it in the us and also exporting it. This link has failed on me in less than 2000 miles causing the rear suspension on my motorcycle to collapse when i was travelling at 110mph. I have approached many motorcycle forums now both in the us and uk and eu and this link has failed on every person that has bought it. I have had it inspected by engineers and by design because it produces torque on the bolt it is not strong enough because of the design and breaks. This has happened to many people in the uk and us and i cannot get this link stopped from being manufactured or get my money back from the company. The link also because of the design changes the rising rate of the motorcycle and is not an exact replacement for the oem part, although it is being sold as such. The link is being marketed as an exact replacement for the oem part, although it changes the rising rate of the suspension outside of the manufactures design and it is also being marketed as being as strong as the oem part if not stronger when it is not. I have 2 documented cases of people being killed in the uk with police reports from their investigation where the rear suspension collapsed on the motorcycle that this link is designed to be fitted to. When this link breaks the rear suspension collapses. I have emailed every agency in the us trying to get some support to get this product stopped. The company that produce this link needs to held responsible and this product and others of the same design made by this company that produce torque and change the rising rate need to stopped from being marketed and manufactured. The company should also be fined for trade descriptions and marketing a product that will kill people and is a danger to all road users. This is the link to the product and the company that is marketing it. It is very dangerous and will fail on you.http://www.soupysperformance.com/catalog/item/4408900/8529093.htm.

On july 4, 2005, i purchased a 2005 ford f350 super duty lariat with long bed and dual wheels and 4wd at el cajon ford.from the beginning, the truck experienced severe front-end vibration when i reached about 60 mph.it continued until i got to about 80 mph.i complained about this problem from the first visit for service at downey ford.after a few visits for diagnostics, downey ford installed a "dampener" on the front end.it made the problem better, but it did not completely cure the defect.i eventually bought a lance camper, which was on the truck for over a year.while the truck had the 3000 lb camper on it, the vibration went away on the straightaway, but was horribly dangerous on the curves.for example, one such curve is the 605 sb to the 405 sb in long beach.i almost lost control of the vehicle/camper on this curve unless i almost stopped.i removed the camper about a year ago and the problem with the truck is worse.it now will vibrate uncontrollably at 40-50 mph. I reported this vibration problem every time i went to the dealer for service.they always said they did all they could with the dampener.i took the truck to el cajon ford about 3-4 weeks ago.now that it is out of warranty, ford now says it can fix the problem, but it has damage the front steering mechanism.the service writer said in a voice mail that downey put on a damper that was too small for my truck.i demanded they fix it free and they refuse.i want my truck fixed.this is a design defect, since it has existed from day 1.i have read on several websites that this is a common problem that existed well before 2005, but ford has ignored the safety issues.a high probability of an accident exists when your truck is vibrating and bouncing across lanes and you cannot step on the brake or make it worse!thank you, annette gilliam

Defective vehicle back springs.both back springs were broken and i paid to have them replaced.ford knew they were defective since they had re-designed the springs.the new springs were put on and now the whole vehicle bounces on the road.handling is bad and if i have to travel on a bumpy road i have to take a draminine.i have paid to have installed 6 new springs and 8 struts but i still get seasick driving my car. It is so bumpy my neck hurts riding in my car. *la

Ford motor companymain topic: vehicleserviceissuesyour inquiry: my vehicle was recalled for a repair.i took my ford windstar to bob macxey dealership on 06/03/2011 for recall service.when i took my van in , it ran smooth , i just had an auto starter put on the van this winter and you couldn't even tell when the van was on. I went to pick the van up and was told i would have to leave it overnight to seal/glue.i was told they didn't have a loaner so i had to pay my supervisor to pick me and my kids up from school. This complaint is related to the dodge durango front suspension upper ball joints and control arms wearing out prematurely.at 28,433 miles i experienced front suspension problems.the local chrysler dealership could not find anything wrong.at 38,801 miles "they" were able to pinpoint the problem and replaced the front and rear sway bar bushings and inner and outer tie rods.at 45,390 miles the problem reocurred and the tie rods, upper ball joints and control arms were replaced again!after reading the related article on your website, i wanted to express my concern and encourage you to further your investigation.

I parked my van, 1998 mercury villager on the street in front of my home. Two days later, i noticed the front right tire was flat. I had four new tires since jan 2011. When i lifted up the front right and tried to remove the fr tire, it would not come off. After a while, i noticed the strut coil spring got broke, and the shape end of broken coil spring pierced thru. The inside side wall of the tire.i am the original owner of this van,and bought new. It has `150,000 miles on it. This incident could have been turned out be a very serious accident if it happened while i was driving at 70mpg.i do a lot of highway driving.both front right and left complete strut assemblies were replaced and the flat tire was replaced with new one. Itook some pictures and have the sharp end of broken coil spring.

Hello,i have installed ground control adjustable camber arms on my vehicle to permit camber adjustment to within factory recommendations.these same model camber arms are failing on a number of vehicles which are identical to mine (chrysler crossfire). My vehicle has not yet failed.a photo is attached.they pose an extreme safety hazard, as they can cause complete loss of vehicle control.there have been no injuries yet, but it is only a matter of time.thank you for considering my report.

2004 mini cooper, had several problem with front excel , hydoroplates and dangerous car to drive.

It is so bumpy my neck hurts riding in my car. *la
