I purchased the bulk pack of storehouse brand blade fuses from harbor frieght tools in vancouver, wa. My brother was driving my vehicle when 3 fuses melted and caught fire to the fuse block. The fire then spread throughout the dash causing almost a complete re wiring of the vehicle. The electrical smoke was extremely bad and made it hard for him and my daughter to breathe. He was pulled over by an oregon state police officer for swerving as a result of the smoke.
Problem with fuse installed in john deere riding mower, causing a fire in the mower. I purchased fuses from harbor freight, item 02940, set of fuses.had a fuse blow in my mower, and replaced with a new one from this set of fuses.4 days later, when i was out of town and my daughter was mowing, the lawn mower caught fire while she was using it.all the wiring under the dash has been burned and destroyed. A couple weeks after this incident, i received a recall notice from harbor freight that there was a recall on the fuses. I have photographs of the damage.
The contact owned a storehouse fuse set (model 92940). The contact stated that while driving and pressing the horn, smoke began to escape from the dashboard. The fuse box was also emitting smoke. The vehicle was pulled over to the shoulder and stopped, when the contact noticed that the fuse was melted. The battery was disconnected in order to stop the smoking. The fuse was removed from the vehicle, but it was not replaced. The contact stated that the failure damaged other wires and caused intermittent damage to the warning lights and signal of the vehicle. There was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number 07e059000 (electrical system:fuses and circuit breakers), in which the fuse was included, but the contact was unsuccessful in being refunded for the part. The vehicle was not repaired.
