Red air bag light went on in aug of 2007, took to dealer was told the battery was bad and replaced it.i had a new battery put im the previous year (2006-july.i was then told that the srs unit could be bad, but was not replaced. The light was then turned off.in aug of 2008 the light turned on again, i was told the srs unit was bad again and this would cost500.00 dollars to fix, it was no longer under warranty.i am feeling taken advantage of the situation.it is now july of 2009 and the light is on again.it seems just as soon as it gets hot the light goes on.i feel this is a safety hazard and that i should not be responsible for it.could you please help me with this problem.

I am another hyundai 2006 owner with the passenger seat belt on who paid $105.00 for the diagnostic which returned code b1706 having to do with the pretensioner and seat belt. Not according to hyundai applicable to the recall. I now have to pay another $350.00 to have this repair done. This should be a recall. Shame on hyundai, i bought this car partly because of the air bag system and the desire for a safe vehicle. How can they split hairs and claim this is not a widespread problem?

Airbag light turns on indicating possible failure. Driver & passenger buckle replaced twice each & airbag indicator light on again.

The light on my dash came on for the drivers airbag and had it checked by the dealer march, 2010 for my 2001 vw beetle 1.9 diesel.i was told the chip in the seat belt had gone bad needs to be replaced. Approx. $175.00 the service dept. Called vw andthey could nottell me if my defective chip in the seatbelt will deploy upon impact.50% chance it might.i have noticed all the $ i have put into this car vw generally is not on the recall lists for anything.also, the headlight bulbs generally burn out every year and they need to be replaced. Vw doesn't tell how to change the bulbs in the manual. Had to go to the dealer to show how to change a light bulb which i feel is a safety issue. I will not buy another vw because they do not back up their product. Also i know this my be old information but i didn't know where i could report this until i saw something in the paper.i don't know many other vw's out there are with this type of problem but i have talked to vw complaint dept. And all they told me is that they go off of dealers records.i really don't believe it because some of the problems i have had either does n't change for fixingor vw fixes some of the problems in the next models coming out of which i am stuck with the problem.no help from vw.

Airbags did not deploy. Seatbelts did not retract/work.was involved in a frontal driver side collision in which my 2009 dodge ram 1500 was totaled. I received head trauma injury per airbag and seatbelt not working. Chrysler/dodge denying any responsibility w/ their defective product.

Click portion of the drivers side seat belt does not work. Therefore, my air bags are not functional and will not work. Yellow air bag light stays on in dash to remind me you are a dead man if you go on interstate 95.

The seatbelt that holds the baby safety seat does not stay "locked" therefore, when we turn a corner, the baby seat (with the baby in it) tips over on its side!for the first five months, there was no incident of this.now it happens every time - we have had to discontinue using that seatbelt.

I bought two rigid seat belt extenders from "more of me to love," at 6760 jimmy carter blvd., suite 140 | norcross, ga 30071.about one month ago, i rearended a stopped car going 20-25 mph.the seat belt came out of the extender.it wasn't actually fastened in the housing.i contacted the company, which said this had never happened before.i repeatedly asked the company what they planned to do about recalling the extenders, and notifying dot of the problem.the company refunded my money and seemed to take it seriously; however, the company said the chinese manufacturer of the product had assured more of me to love that there were no defects in the product.this seems irrelevant, and i'm reporting the incident to dot for appropriate action.i will be glad to forward the e-mails i exchanged with the american company, and photographs of the seat extender, or the extender itself.

Over the span of the last 1 1/2 years i have had the following problems*rear seat belts locked up wouldn't loosen far enough to get my child out of the car.*front seat belts (both) would come open while the vehicle was in motion.*drivers side door wouldn't latch when trying to close it, had to jiggle the inside handle*spare tire arm wouldn't stay in the locked position when open. Still won't*four wheel drive wouldn't engage*lifter noise--collapsed lifter*head warped*check engine light had come on a few times *cup holders (front and rear) fell apart*outside trim was fallling off.

Star of america airport shuttle has many safety issues, cosmetic as well as seat belts not working, emergency radios not working, loose seats, door issues. I have been a passenger on this shuttle and i will not risk myself with this service again.

I own a 2001 mercury sable.at approximately 70,000 the driver's seat belt began to retract sporadically.at about 75,000 miles the seatbelt no longer retracted at all.the seatbelt still locks when pressure is put on it, but i am concerned about its safety.

2016 hyundai sante fe involved in a near head on collision. Combined total speed of impact approximately 80 mph. Two occupants both wearing seatbelts at time of crash. Driver side and passenger side airbags deployed during crash. Passenger shoulder harness failed (locking mechanism did not lock) resulting in passenger head impact with wind shield causing significant deformation of wind shield and head injury to the passenger. Lap belt restraint prevented passenger from significantly worse injury. Photos are available.

As a group leader working at the subaru of indiana plant i was told to ignored a pokey system that detected lose or missing bolts on the front seats of the toyota camry. Numerous car seats with missing or incomplete torqued bolts where found after leaving the car seat assemble areathe toyota camry is manufactured at the subaru of indiana plant. There is an email where my boss explains its not a serious safety issue.

The seat belts do not retract.it takes over 10 minutes for them to retract once you unfasten them.my seat belts were replaced while under warranty and the problem was still not corrected. I was told "that is how they work". I am now having problems with them locking while driving.the locking is not triggered by anything that we have found it just won't move when you try to.you can't move unless you undo the seat belt wait for it to retract and then refasten it.when you unfasten it there is a clicking noise as it retracts.there has always been a problem with them wanting to hang up when you pull on it to put it on.this problem has existed since just a few months after i bought the car.it continued to get worse.after numerous complaints they replaced all the seat belts in the car.the situation improved slightly but then started getting worse again.from that point on they told me that there was nothing that could be done. *nlm

My drivers seatbelt locks up all the time.just the velocity of gaining speed on the freeway locks up the seat belt and i have to release it then refasten my seatbelt.

1998 ford mustang gt convertibleunder warranty, the driver's seat belt (lap portion) became severely frayed.belt (and maybe entire assembly) was replaced by dealer.don't have an exact date - but within the first year of ownership.now, at 5 yrs 4 mo of age, this belt is again fraying.

I have a 1999 ford taurus station wagon.in 2003 the rleft rear seat belt would sometimes get stuck and not retract.i would have to feed the belt back into the mechanism in order for the belt to finally work.after doing this for some time, i took the car to my local ford dealer in december, 2003 and paid to have the seat belt assembly replaced.in 2006, i again had the same problem with the left and right rear seat belts and the left front seat belt.i again took the car to the ford dealer in december 2006 and had all three of the seat belt assemblies replaced.at the time i asked the person at the dealer if there was a recall or anything on the seat belts since this was the second time in 3 years that i had the problem.they pretty much ignored my question.now i found out that there was a recall on seat belt mechanisms and owners were notified beginning in 1999.we did not purchase this vehicle until 2001.

My daughter was involved in a rollover accident with a 1997 toyota 4-runner.she was ejected from the vehicle and the policehave evidence to suggest that she was wearing her seat belt.i have taken the vehicle in to toyota twice to replace the rear suspension for a toyota recall.both before the recall and after the recall the rear end was sagging and was not stable.it is my opinion that the seat belt was defective and the rear suspension was defective.both conditions contributed to her death. *nlmin speaking with investigative sheriff the vehicle was traveling about 38-51 mph when the vehicle drove off an embankment.the vehicle rolled 2-3 times down a 50-70 foot drop.the driver's seat was damaged rearward and the driver slid out of the seat because of this damage.upon inspection the seat belt was still fastened.the investigative officer stated that due to the severity of the crash and damage to the seat the driver was ejected from the driver's side rear window.there did not appear to be a vehicle defect with the seat belt or seat. I have a 2007 dodge grand caravan that has it's middle row right seatbelt replaced twice in less than two years. First one feb. 2009 and second one nov. 2010. Same problem each time with the seatbelts - they would just quit working - they would get stuck and would not be able to latch seatbelt. And if you could get it latched for some reason - it would be nearly impossible to get it unlatched when need too.

Every time it rains, my seat belts get soaking wet.i can't figure out how hte water is getting into the seat belt holder.

Cold brook saab dealer (phone #207-474-9881) located at 337 madison ave, skowhegan, me 04976 sold a new car with a non-functional driver side seat belt. This is not a safe business practice for a car dealer. When asked about this they claim that this could have damaged during the car being shipped from the dealer to the buyer.

The generation 3 seat belts in my van need to be replaced in light of all that has happened, including all the information contained in the website www.unsafebelts.com.this seems to affect over 14 million people, and no recall has yet been made.but the deaths keep rising, and the money adds up for daimler-chrysler.i am thinking of filing a lawsuit of my own in the fact that there is knowledge about these things happening to seat belts and nothing is being done except sitting on their butts!!today i called champion dodge located in gulfport, mississippi and was told that they will not replace the belts...instead i would have to pa to get them done!!i think a nice ad in the local newspaper will do the trick!!i have a 19-month old girl, i will be damned if i will just let this go.thank you for your time.mr. Seat belts in back seat and speed control will not cancel after being set. A lady had latch her seat belt in the right rear seat, and it would not release had to cut the belt to get her out.

Re:second (mid-section) seat - driver's side1.seat belt became lodged behind seat release causing back of seat to jerk forward and strike my child in back of neck.2.facts:a)when my daughter (12 years; 89 lbs.) leaned forward in her seat, pressure was placed on seat belt causing release to engage and jerk forward; b) my daughter was still inseat belt when i pulled off the side of road to check on her; c) i was repeatedly unable to get the back of her seat to "lock in" place;d)upon further investigation, i found seat belt to be lodged securely behind seat release and each time my daughter moved forward and placed pressure on seat belt, the release was engaged;e)this incident wasn't the result of an accident; e) brakes weren't being used at time; f)she was seen in emergency room due to pain in her neck. Back and head; she was diagnosed with a cervical strain and had to wear a neck collar for five days.3.contributing reasons for occurrence: a)seat belt is secured to side ofvehicle; b) when a person gets into third row seat, it's easy to get caught on the seat belt causing it to hang behind seat release; (c)if seat belt doesn't retract properly, it catches behind seat release; d) it can also catch on front of release.4.additional concerns: a) second seat release is a two step release: if this was a situation where the brakes had to be applied quickly and firmly, second part ofrelease could have potentially engaged causing my daughter to be struck from behind and throwing her forward causing her to strike the front of her head on the back of the driver's seat which impact could have quite likely caused me to lose control of the vehicle.5.this is a very serious situation which could cause catastrophic results if not corrected in all explorers equipped with this type of seat belt and seating arrangement.thank you for your attention to this matter.i look forward to a response in this regard.*nlm

How many people have to die before you investigate these' gen 3' dodge seat belts?failure to act shows negligence.what's the cost of my children's lives?

Front passenger seatbelt will not retrack or release all the time.and the same problem is starting to happen in the back seat as well.

The drivers seat belt continuously binds up in the re-tractor bezel. Because of this the re-tractor unit does not function properly. Some times if you do get it to come out, you can get it latched but the belt fails to tighten. In other cases it binds so badly that the side wall must be taken apart to free it. This has happened at about 60000 miles. Dealer said they would not fix it and it would coast about $600 to repair. I notice in this list many other owners have experienced similar problems. When is toyota going to get the message and send out a recall.

August 2001 i purchased a new 2001 chevrolet tahoe from danvers chevrolet.that fall the dealership replaced the faulty seat belt and the seat.the seat belt is still not operating as originally intended and gm will not admit fault.the repairing dealerhsip - hillcrest chevrolet in salem, ma (have been great with me) are not allowed by gm anymore to replace seat belts or to attempt to fix the locking mechanism that immediately chokes anyone sitting in the seat - as if the car was involved in an accident you cannot more anything but your eyes!hillcrest employees have seen and experienced the problem.gm has the same problem with the trailblazer but are not willing to help me anymore - i made them aware of the seat belt law in massachusetts; they don't care.i need help to get the seat belt fixed so it can be used.if anything happens to anyone in my car because of an accident; if i get stopped and a ticket because the seat belt can't be worn - i can't imagine what will happen.i am in tears over this and am desperate for help.please help me.cathy comora-favaloro.

Three seatbelts in the car are shredding in the exact spots.blatant flawwhere they retract. Metal is not rounded in retractor, itis sharp. I was told i would have to pay $150.00 to fix??my seatbelts are fraying badly.

A seatbelt i bought may have been recalled.i can't determine whether it was.i got a letter that says i should look for numbers on a "sewn in tag."i can't find a sewn in tag.that makes this procedure an exercise in futility.beam industries, seat belt model wsch324, "tag numbers" 34203 or 33557.if there is such a tag, i can't find it. Couldn't they have specified a location of the tag? *la

This happened in our honda crv, but it is a common problem with all makes/manufacturers and needs to be addressed as such. Our 6 year old grandson was in the back seat yesterday, he took the middle seat belt that comes down from the ceiling and wrapped it around his neck (don't ask me why - why do 6 year olds do the things they do?). When we discovered it, it was already pretty tight with almost no slack left in the belt. This is a wratcheded device, so as any slack part of the belt is left to retract into the wratchet mechanism, it cannot be pulled out. I tried to free him, but there was no way to unwrap it from around his neck as the belt was already too tight. I looked for a release and there was none. With every movement, more and more of what little line was left was being wratched up and the belt was getting tighter. We were at walmart and i told my wife to run in and get some scissors while i held the belt where it disappeared into the ceiling to keep it from retracting further. A moment later my wife ran out with scissors, i slid the blade between his neck and the belt and cut him free. If we had been somewhere where a cutting device wasn't readily available, chances are my 6 year old grandson would not have made it. I posted this on facebook this morning so others would be aware and carry scissors in their vehicles - as my wife and i are doing the same. But just in the last few hours, i have had 4 people tell me they have had similar experiences with seat belts and that's why i am writing to you. This is a common problem across the auto industry - and can be solved easily by including a release button/mechanism that would disconnect the wratchet device in these kinds of emergencies. If one had been part of the seat belt, there would not have been a problem - but there isn't on any car, and that needs to change. It's an extremely simple - and cheap fix, but without it, one that almost cost my grandson his life. Please address this.

I have been having a problem with rear-seat seatbelt extenders. The extender provided by our dealer is number f58z-16611c22-a. The problem is that the receptacle on the extender will not latch onto the seat belt unless the extender receptacle is at room temperature or above. We have been trying to get this problem resolved for several months. The parts and service folks at friendly ford of monroe, michigan claim that nothing can be done about it because, according to ford motor company, there is no other extender available. They have reordered the extenders several times, thinking that maybe they were defective, but we still have the problem. We have to warm up the extenders in order to get them to work, and even then they will not latch 100 percent of the time. I have also contacted the ford motor company and they have also told me that nothing can be done. *la

Regarding a 2008 nissan sentra 4dsd, involved in a collision with another vehicle, we believe the right rear seat belt failed to restrain the passenger. The failure of the seat belt we believe, allowed the right rear seat passenger to collide with the rear of the right front passenger seat causing severe personal injury to the right rear passenger that would not have occurred had the restraint functioned as designed to restrain the passenger.

Seat belt straps (female ends) for center lap belt and passenger side lap/shoulder pulled out of the seat on the third row seat. Sewing on both straps appear defective. Both are impossible to inspect without removing the seat covering and problem may not be discovered until collision. Ours pulled out of the seat with normal use for less than 5 years.

2006 ford freestyle the middle seat belt on the middle seat locks when the seat is laid down or it locks when not in use. It has been replaced 3 times and we continue to have the same problem. The seat belt is currently not usable.

I have owned my 2003 chevy trailblazer for just over four months now.i have had it serviced for a broken driver's side seatbelt three times, including today.when i took it in today, i'd only been driving it for about a week since the last seatbelt was replaced.each time i take it in, they just replace the seatbelt, and they don't even investigate to see if there's a deeper problem.it's frustrating to have this many problems with a brand-new vehicle.

Auto accident on 5/2/14 driver side seat belt broke during crash.

Near miss - car pulled out in front of me and i instinctively hit the breaks and passenger seat belt locked up and wouldn't release causing passenger discomfort and unable to breath, was unable to release seat belt so had to cut off . This is a 2010 mustang convertible with less than 50,000 miles . Contacted dealer and said that the seat belt was not covered under warranty! it would be $300 + labor ?? looked online and it seems that there are a lot of people who have the same problem! ford needs to recall and fix this problem!

I am ase certified in brakes steering and suspension. My 1992 pontiac transport has developed numerous problems. One ( brakes will fail to engage for no apparent reason with vibration in the pedal. Does not do this all the time only frequently. And two.it also will violently start shuttering at speeds of 40 to 60 mph. I have replaced both ball joints, both tie rods(inner and outer), both wheel bearings, all 4 struts and mounts, both rotors, trans vacuum shift module, trans cooler lines, entire rear brake system, all lines (steel and rubber) radiator and both cv shafts. I am tire of putting money into this pit and it didn't even have 100,000 miles on it when it started and i have invested over $3,000.00 in repairs. This is ridiculous when this very same report has been made in numerous occasions andpontiac will not fix the problem that is a common occurrence and should be a recall of what ever is causing the problem.

I have been advised to contact you from the department of consumer affairs. The company in question is, seatbelt solutions, located in jupiter, fl. They are falsifying documents to provide to the state and federal governments. Please contact me for additional information. There are currently almost a million unsafe seat belts out in the market. I am a former employee of the company and my son still is employed their. I am giving this information under federal protection as a whistle blower. *dt*dt

Driver seat belt latch is broken. Plastic slide in latch is stuck in bottom of latch.

97 geo prizm-seat belt failures. Seat belts twist and won't extend or lock and won't retract, in from and rear seats, has been repaired numerous times but continues to happen. Seat belt connections fail upon braking to avoid an accident the seat belts came undone and will not fasten back in front and rear of car. Including the drivers seat belt also has been repaired before and still continues to happen.

Front passenger seat belt stopped retracting and was not usable for the passenger (who happened to be my teenager) i hadtaken it to be repaired three previous times.was told that it was not a defect and that i had to pay 152 dollars this time to have it repaired since the car is now not under warranty but was under warranty the first 3 previous attempts to fix the problem.

My drivers rear seatbelt keeps coming apart have had it changed six times inside osf two years and am now fighting to get it warented as a saftey defect because i have now reached 60,000 miles.i want this to be investigated as i am aware of the fact there are several others with same issue.this car is not safe for children.dealer says car seat but i swear to anyone there is no car seat on that side of car even if there was car seat belts are supposed to hold with out the webbing fraying.

I own a 2010 ford f-150 xlt supercrew, the 2nd row seating does not lock in the seating position. I have taken the vehicle to south bay ford in ca. The service department looked and could not find anything wrong but i feel this is a safety item that should be addressed asap, since the seat does not lock in the seating position that means in an accident the seat is free to move which means passengers will not be secured properly! i understand use of seat belts are paramount in accidents but if the seat has a stationary position in the seating position passengers would be much safer...please look into this before people get killed in this vehicle.

I wish to complain about the seat belt malfunction in my 2005 jeep wrangler tj. With only 16000 miles the right passenger seat belt would not retract anymore and it appears that the plastic spacers came apart.i replaced the entire assembly to the cost of $325.00 for a new belt assembly.if my jeep belt is defective are there many other complaints about the jeep seat belts?

I own a 1995 mercury villager.the front passenger side seat belt became un-operational in march 2001.i contacted my dealer and mercury at the time, neither was of any help and showed no concern.i paid$121 out of pocket to replace the part.now, in february of 2003 the same locations seat belt is un-operational again.i contacted my dealer who told me to call mercury.they will not help cover a part that is more than 12 months old.we were told over and over that it's their policy.i have owned about 6 vehicles in my years of driving, this has never happened to me before.a defective seat belt should be at the bottom of my list of concerns regarding my automobiles.the seat belt on this passenger seat is used the least in the van because i require my child to sit in the middle row of my van and 90% of the time my wife or i are transporting ourselves alone or one of us with our child.the seat is hardly ever-used or being put through unnecessary wear and tear.

Purchased a pre-owned 1999 subaru legacy in 2008 as a gift for my 18yr daughter.within months of ownership driver side shoulder belt ripped! i contacted local subaru dealership and was told it would cost $300 to order a new shoulder belt and an additional $300 to install it!regular mechanic won't install anything but a genuine subaru belt due to liability however i am a widow and cannot afford $300 for a part that has always lasted the lifetime of any vehicle that i have ever owned.given the mandatory nature of this part is there anything that can be done to help me? i am less than impressed by subaru's response and obvious comfort with taking such a huge profit for a part that provides basic safety and must be warn by law!

In june of 2009 i took my 2007 ford focus in for regular oil changing maintenance as well as to find out while the seat belt light came on when my seat belt was latched. The service attendant checked the seat and stated there was nothing wrong with the seat belt. Well a few weeks after that the light continues to flash only now the seat belt isn't latching properly. I again spoke with a representative who now informs me that my warranty expired and it will cost me $379 to correct this problem because not only do ford has to fix the latch but it also has to be rewired. I stated to a representativewhy didn't you do the work when i brought my car in still under warranty and reported this problem and now you want me to pay for an issue that i didn't create. So now i'm driving around with a seat that doesn't work because i can't afford to fix a safety issue that shouldhave been fixed without question.

1991 honda civic passanger seat belt does not slide back and forth and a beeping for the seat belt sensor is malfunctioning. Keeps beeping even if everything is buckled.

I own a 2004 honda cr-v and i am in need of a seat belt extender for a passenger with a disability.i've been informed by my local dealership that honda does not make an extender for the cr-v as "it's against the law".my passenger cannot secure the seat belt without an extender and this therefore could be/is a major life or death safety issue.other manufacturers provide them (chrysler, ford, gm).is honda correct or in violation of any federal requirement to provide one free of cost as other vehicle manufacturers do?thank you.

Airbag light turns on indicating possible failure. Driver & passenger buckle replaced twice each & airbag indicator light on again.

Driver's seat belt does not properly retract after being extended.was replaced once by the local dealer about five years ago even though vehicle was out of warranty.belt has gradually developed the same problem over the recent years.

The rear seat belts shoulder belts do not retract at all. This is a serious safety problem. After talking to dealership thewarranty is only for 5 years 50000 miles. So is ford saying that after this warranty is up on my 1999 sable that my families life is worthless.. All seat belts should be warranted for the life of the car, not 5 years 50000 miles..shouldn't all satey related equipment in vehicles be warranted for life?there was a recall for the front shoulder belts on this vehicle. There should be a recall for the rear seatbelts also. They both have stopped working at the same time and that should say something is wrong with them. These seatbelts have not been abused or wear and tear is a bad call on this one.. This car is only is only 5 years old and wear and tear does not play into this at all..this problem should be looked into..

I am very concerned over the saftey of the geniii seatbelts in our 2001 chrysler.something needs to be done before children die.how much is one life worth.please look into this and make chrysler fix this problem.

Star of america airport shuttle has many safety issues, cosmetic as well as seat belts not working, emergency radios not working, loose seats, door issues. I have been a passenger on this shuttle and i will not risk myself with this service again.

My toyota tacoma (2008) seatbelts had a recall by toyota; the 'screws thatattach the seat belt pre-tensioner to the seat belt retractor...can become lose over time...';in my tacoma truck we did the recall repair at the dealership in juneau, alaska in april of 2014.this week the screws did disengage apparently because the seat belt is now loose from the retractor entirely. This renders the seatbelt without a functioning bottom line.this is quite a safety issue.consequences:i am now unable to state my seatbelt will engage in any way, shape or form, and protect my life in an accidents. Correction:the dealership staff were initially non-committal with regards to the problem being related to the recall of 2014; i went up the line on the phone and now they are offering to inspect it, to 'see if it is'; thisis not taking responsibility for a known problem and is dangerous.they need to be much more proactive in monitoring the initial recall trucks to see if the problem repeats over time.

I have had to have the seatbelt replaced twice in the last month on my new vw tiguan.the female connector that the tongue of the belt fits into has broken apart twice, requiring an entire replacement of the belt.this work was covered under warranty.the first time it broke when the loop of my pocket book caught on it.the second time it broke, all i did was move the driver's seat back in order to get out.

1)front passenger seat belt locks up. No one would wear seat belt due to problem. Mechanism replaced by dealer 4 times, still not working. Dealer aded an extension to seat belt and that prevents it from locking. 2)parking brake never held vehicle, started to go all the way to the floor. Dealer states thats normal. Took in at 15,000 and 25,000 miles with same problem. At 37,000 miles they want to charge me $800.00 to replace rear rotors and brake pads. Refused to pay them for repair, took it to a tire repair shop and paid $630.00. Rotors were falling apart. This is a very dangerous situation it seems the parking brake stays on even when release.3) sudden loss of power steering and all lights on dash go on while driving at any speed. Headlights also dim off and on. Alternator wiring replaced. Two months later same thing, wiring replaced. Leave dealer and happens agian on the way home. Now alternator and wiring replaced.

I am the original owner of a 1993 eagle sumit, purchased in dover de.within in the firs two years of owning the vehicle, the seat belt harness was recalled by the manufacure. I took my car in for the recall. Over the years the seat belt harness has never worked properly, often stopping in the middle of the automaticmovement or havign a slipping action while in the belt when stopping. The seat belt harness recently stopped working completly.tthe seat belt harness was considered to be a safety probem noted at my recent re-inspection of the vehicle.i called the dealership where i originally purchased the vehicle to inquire about repairs/replacement of the recalled seatbelt harness. And and any warranty/guarntee of the current recalled seat belt.the dealership's curren manager stated that chrylser does not reinburse for recall parts in vehicles this old. The current cost to replace the seat belt harnes isover $600.00 dollars plus labor as quoated by hertich/ jeep & eagle dealer in dover, de. I was also given a run around by the store's general manager regarding his knowledge of the difference between warranty's for parts & reparis verses warranty/guarantee on recall parts by manufacures? at the present time, i am unable to drive my vehicle due to the car not passing inspection due to the seat belt harness problem and the high cost of the replacement part. The lap belt that is in the vehicle appears to be ok (not sure) how the two of these work together in this vehicle . At this point i am unable to get any answers regarding chrysler's responsiblity regarding this recalled seatbelt and any real dangers that may still be associated with this seat belt harness.to pay over$600.00 dollars for a recalled manufatures defect part seems unfair. If the part cost this much for replacement, then it must have some liability and noted safety issue attached to the part itself. Shouldn't the liability of the replacement part be the manufacturer or the owner?

Driver seat malfunctions, it jams and i can not get it unjammed.the dealership replaced the belt.7 days later it jammed again. Dealer said they will not fix it again. They say it is over spooling. The seat belt needs to work at all times.state law requires a seat belt on to drive.when it jams i can not drive.

I have a 2002 hyundai sante fe.i am the second owner.it has about 90700 miles on it.my rear drivers side seatbelt retainer system does not lock when using with a child seat..this is the same problem that a kia was recalled for: "kia seat belt recall: in july 2006, kia recalled about 32,000 vehicles that failed to comply with federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 208. The automatic locking retainer function in the rear outboard seatbelt assemblies may disengage when used with certain child seats. In the event of an accident, this defect poses an increased risk of injury to the seat occupant. " i have called the hyundai dealer, and hyndai usa.they both tell me i am out of warranty, and i must pay for diagnosis and all repairs.even if it is a safety issue.

Vehicle seat beal failed,driver side.

I saw this seat belt accessory for sale on amazon, for pregnant women: https://www.amazon.com/zuwitmaternity-adjuster-must-have-expectant/dp/b07cnc4plhthe "zuwit maternity car belt adjuster" it seems like a good idea at first glance, but in response to a customer question on amazon about safety certifications and testing, the seller posted this: "the hook of the product can bear 180kg (400lbs)weight. In addition, we contacted several companies who are providing inspection, verification, testing and certification services, such as sgs company, and all of them replied to us saying no specific test is required, but suggest us pass rohs test since this zuwit seatbelt adjuster has materials that may be touched by people during daily usage, so we applied and passed rohs test for this product. If you are interested in viewing more details of this test, please kindly write to us [xxx]"it is made of plastic, and has only been tested to a static strength of 400 lbs, and no further testing seems to have been performed, apart from some rohs chemical testing. I'm a mechanical engineer with 10 years of experience in consumer and medical product design, and this is a staggering lack of safety test data for a product designed to be used as part of a car seat belt system. An average weight person can put thousands of pounds of force on seat belt components in a crash. I think this product is very likely to fail in a crash. If it breaks or comes loose, there will be slack in the seat belt system, which would allow the passenger to not be properly restrained by the seat belt. This product endangers women and their unborn children.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Took my 2002 bmw 525i to have its driver side rails replaced to bmw of peoria in illinois about 2 weeks ago. About 1 week later (around may 5) at a stop light a large allen type bolt fell and rolled to my feet. This bolt was to my lap seat belt which i was now holding in my hand! the bolt was never tightened properly and i had been driving like this for around 1 week assuming my seat belt would work when needed. Bmw of peoria was informed of this the same day, it was fixed by the next day. I wrote to bmw-usa about this issue and the response was very low key. Mostly that they apologizefor the inconvenience and to talk with my service manager to get this issue fixed. I don't think they even read the letter which mentioned reminding bmw service of proper work. Just writing in hopes that no one else runs into this life threatening situation. *nlm

On 2/2/08, i purchased a replacement seat belt assembly for my 2002 hyundai santa fe from butler hyundai (indianapolis, in.317-848-4200).label on belt states:seat belt part no.89810-26 500 yd, dated 11/09/06.the seat belt did not come with any installation instructions.i asked angela, at the parts desk, where they were.she said she did not know.i mentioned that according to the nhtsa, all seat belt assemblies are required to come with instructions.i asked for the supervisor.she came back and said that the supervisor was busy, and he was not aware of what i was talking about.i asked if there was something in the service center that she could give me, or make a copy of for me.she said no.she said i could go to hyundai online, or call technical support.she did not give me a phone number or web site instructions.before purchasing the seat belt, i spoke to claudia kovell of nhtsa (phone: 202-366-5293).she stated that to be in compliance, all seat belt assemblies need to come with instructions.

I am one of three owners who purchased honda cr-v ex (and lx) in 2002. This has been a great for me i was able to pay for by myself. I was at the dealers and i was able to see it unwrapped with only 6 miles on it as i singed the form to get it that day. I had it insurance the day i picked it up, with that being said i love this car! but in the last two years i have notice a growing number of incidents involving the seat belts in this vehicle. I have at times found it difficult to securely fasten the seat belts at all. My attempt to get the seat belt secured can be laboring; my mother with her failing health cannot do it very well at all. If i was only one of the three of us i would assume that it is just my vehicle but it is not. It can take up to 5 minutes to do this simple task. This makes me question if the connection will give way during an accident. Please understand that my 6 year old daughter is in this car twice a day. This is not just one car seat belt but all the ones in the back and front. Since it is the law to ensure that all persons in a vehicle are securely fastens in the retraining devices.this was a recall some time ago but it was not address when i took my car to a honda dealer (2002 honda cr-v seat belts recall 01v351000), nor the rocking of the driver's seat (2002 honda cr-v seats recall 02v251000) which i find most distracting. I fear that owner of this used vehicles will find it repair to be high cost items. Please consider an investigation of these issues. I hope that it will results in another recall. Ifneed a petition to collect names of the current owners to show you the number of complaints will out weight the very conservative number of affected owner from the number on the recall notice of 2 in the 2002 honda cr-v seats recall 02v251000 and 6744 affected owners in the 2002 honda cr-v seat belts recall 01v351000.

I purchased an instep turbo trailer 2 years ago, and recently, the seatbelt (5 point harness) that connected to the lower strap assembly by stitching broke off when the trailer tipped over during an accident. Luckily, my children were wearing helmets, so no one was injured.

I own a 2001 mercury sable.at approximately 70,000 the driver's seat belt began to retract sporadically.at about 75,000 miles the seatbelt no longer retracted at all.the seatbelt still locks when pressure is put on it, but i am concerned about its safety.

I have a 2007 dodge grand caravan that has it's middle row right seatbelt replaced twice in less than two years. First one feb. 2009 and second one nov. 2010. And if you could get it latched for some reason - it would be nearly impossible to get it unlatched when need too.

Auto accident on 5/2/14 driver side seat belt broke during crash.

Three seatbelts in the car are shredding in the exact spots.blatant flawwhere they retract. Metal is not rounded in retractor, itis sharp. I was told i would have to pay $150.00 to fix??my seatbelts are fraying badly.

I purchased an instep turbo trailer 2 years ago, and recently, the seatbelt (5 point harness) that connected to the lower strap assembly by stitching broke off when the trailer tipped over during an accident. Luckily, my children were wearing helmets, so no one was injured.

Vehicle seat beal failed,driver side.

Click portion of the drivers side seat belt does not work. Therefore, my air bags are not functional and will not work. Yellow air bag light stays on in dash to remind me you are a dead man if you go on interstate 95.

Vehicle seat beal failed,driver side.

*nlm

Vehicle seat beal failed,driver side.

Seat belts in back seat and speed control will not cancel after being set. A lady had latch her seat belt in the right rear seat, and it would not release had to cut the belt to get her out.

*la
