The contact owns a 2002 coleman trailer.the contact stated that the microwave caught fire within the vehicle.she made arrangements with the manufacturer regarding a replacement microwave, smoke damage, and inspection of the wiring near the microwave area.she stated that the manufacturer gave her the run around.the contact referenced safety recall # 03v452000 (equipment:recreational vehicle) and stated that she was never notified of the recall.the part number, serial number, and purchase date were unknown.
An electrical shortage occurred and the microwave activated by itself as stated in recall 03e0440000. The microwave was outside of the remedy scope due to the date it was manufactured. The manufacturing date was may 1999.
