Purloator fuel filter(s) sold by pepboys fresno, ca store #777 have connectors that become disconnected. This has occurred with two separate fuel filters within a 6 month period! dates of incidents first filter installed oct. 20, 2008, line disconnected on jan. 2, 2008, may 17, 2008 (filtered replaced) and disconnection again on june 23, 2008. Pepboys is denying possibility of defective products!!!!

Consumer installedpurolator, model pro 806, fuel filter, anddrove vehicle about 300 miles. While driving about 50 mph he smelled fuel, pulled over and opened hood. Fuel filter had exploded and fuel was all overengine compartment. Part offilter was made of plastic, it used to be made of glass.
