We own a 2006 jeep commander that has been a problem from the first month we owned it. The first incident occurred when my wife and 3 children were driving on the highway and the vehicle shut off at 65 mph. The vehicle has consistently experienced the same challenge at low and high speeds. In addition, we have experienced similar issues as other owners such as; transmission noises and slippage, electrical system failures, excessive break noise, break wear, excessive cracking in windshield, seatbelt failure, window leaks, stereo replacement and more! in the last 9 months this vehicle has been to the dealer for repair more than 6 times for similar issues. The dealer, as with other customers has claimed they "can't replicate the problem..." and sent us on our way. I have now embarked upon having the vehicle bought back by the manufacturer and will also begin a formal legal case to ensure other owners receive retribution. This car is dangerous and the manufacturer is aware of these problems, you are not crazy and the dealers are covering it up!

The toyota rav4 (year 2002) indiscriminately speeds up and maxes out the rpms (6000) for not reason. I was going 65 and all of a sudden the rpms went up to 6000 from 3000 and the car sped up to 85 and then went into neutral with me touching any gears or any pedals. Luckily i was allowing enough distance between me and the other vehicles to safely get it pulled off to the side. There would have been no way to control the vehicle to keep it from crashing into someone directly in front of me and both sides and the rear had vehicles in them. The ecm, transmission and vss (variable speed sensor) were replaced and the problem still occurs. Toyota disavows any knowledge of these types of issues; however, there are hundreds of thousands of complaints for the same issues and millions of dollars being spent to solve them and it's not being solved. There are lives at stake here.toyota should be held accountable for these problems. The models effected are the toyota rav4's from 1999 to 2009. And it appears that it's still an issue and still being pushed under the rug so to speak.action or lives....that's what it all boils down to now. Incident date is most current. Numerous past dates.

Stalls in the middle of traffic while driving. Almost killed me and my kids today.

Car repeatedly stalls with no explanation.volvo dealership has worked on car 8 times.throttle parts have been replaced, etm, and many other parts.now they say it's the catalytic converter.this is extremely frustrating and scary.there seems to be no rhyme or reason to why the car stalls.sometimes, it will act as if there's a clogged fuel line, then it stalls the next time i have to decelerate.other times, it dies when i'm driving.*dt

Leased a 2006 chrsyler jeep commander brand new off the car lot to experience stalling multiple times approximately 2-3 months from the beginning of my lease.stalling occurred over 12x.i took the car in for servicing more than 4 times to be told that the car's computer was not registering the problem.then, i filed under the florida state lemon law to receive not action.presently, i have been in litigation vs. Chrysler, under the warranty act, since to no avail.

I own an f350 6.0 diesel truck that has just died on me while going down the highway at 70 mph. These trucks fire the injectors with oil pressure and i have had two different oil pressure issues and the truck has just died. The first one an injector broke off, the second one a oil check valve stuck shut. I both cases i was on open road but lost power steering and power brakes when the truck died. With the loss of pressure the truck will not start again either so i had to get off the road. My biggest concern is that 3 ford dealers that i talked to all said ford knows there an oil pressure problem with these motor. I pull heavy trailers with my truck and i am very concerned about what may happen if i am in heavy traffic pulling a trailer and my truck dies. I have also had the fuel control module and the alternator go bad on this motor. All in the first 60,000 miles. I just want to know if i can get any help from you on insisting that ford do something about a known problem before it does cost lives. It as also damaged the equity i thought i had in this truck. It was a $55,000 truck that currently blue books for over $30,000 and i can not find a dealer who will take it in on trade. They are all aware of the problems and ford has since changed motors because of it. Any help you can over would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Engine revvs and vehicle is thrusted forward at top speed from dead start or when slowing down. This is the second on this problem. Both times lead to property damage, and accident.

2007 hummer 3, breaks down continuously.

3 rocker arms in engine has had to be replaced over a 1 yr time span with less than 56000 mile and 6 yrs old.rear window motors have been replace and now have to be replaced again under little to no use. This vehicle i feel is a lemon and needs to be looked at. Contact to the dealer and manufacture has proven to be no use of help.thedate i have listed is the recent occurrence and i feel this engine is going to lead to a crash if action is not taken.all services has been kept regularly.the night home from work was very scary in i didn't know if the car was going to blow up or lead to a crash.please help me check into whether there is more events of this nationwide that are similar.

After about 28,000-30,000 the truck would severely buck/jerk/hopwhen towing a load.the problem occurs in third gear most commonly.upon acceleration up a hill, the truck has an extreme buck.the rpms raise and lower up to 400 rpm.ford has determined this action to be normal.the only way i have fond to stop this, is to let all the way off the accelerator, and then try again.the truck will then start this again, in which i have to let off.on a safety concern, this occurs on most entrance ramps to interstates, which makes for a hazardous condition trying to merge into traffic, because basically ford is telling me not to try to accelerate past second gear until i am no longer headed uphill. Fords first suggestion was the trailer type, which had no effect(tsb 07-6-09), which only concerned gooseneck trailers. The truck also does this action with a bumper pull trailer.i have taken the truck in 11 times since july 2007, and the service men tell me they can feel it,there is a problem, but no one knows what it is.ford then came to the result this was normal for that truck. At 8000 miles, the truck had a bad injector, after replacing this, the dealership "updated the computer."since that time the truck has not had as much power as when i purchased it.the serviceman told me sometimes these updates will change the output of the truck, or decrease the power.the truck now has a leak in the rearend, which i believe to be a result of the bucking and jerking ford is calling normal.

Bad gas from sunoco gas stations. New gas blend.6 mercedes benz serviced for all 4 oxygen sensor burned out in boston ma.

I do have a 2003 mitsubishi eclipse and at 27,000 i had a clutch replaced and a price tag of $1,250.00 for the dealership the i purchased the car from i thought i would get a long time out of that repair that cost so much. I was only up set that the same problem arose again so called from the dealership.i called independent shop the diagnostic the complete problem the dealershipstated was not wrong, i was told by an independent garagethat the leaking was caused by the sled and that i needed the lines need to be replaced and possible a new clutch again. Because of the leakage problem. I find that the dealership failed and the manufacture failed to make the public aware of these problems. I seems the dealership wanted $1,6759.95 for the repair of a clutch not addressing the leak problems.

Driving when stopped tried to put vehicle in drive and would not go. The failure is the transmission, have had the vehicle for a littler over a year and has been in the shop for at least 9 months. Rebuilt ford tranny still cannot get it right.1st time would not do into drive2nd time driving down the highway and went into high rpm's and wouldn't shift gears. 3rd time stopped wentput vehicle into drive would not engage. 4th time would not engage to reverse. 5th time would not engage into any gear.

I bought a brand new mazda 626.at about 13,000 miles, the transmission went out.i reported the problem and mazda replaced the transmission with a new one.at about 33,000 miles, the transmission went out again, and they replaced it with a new transmission.at about 55,000 miles, the transmission went out again, and mazda told me that it was no longer their problem since the transmission was no longer under warranty.they said that since they replaced my transmission, it was only warranted for one year, and since my original warranty had expired, there was nothing that they would do.

It started around 78,000 miles.my transmission started to slip as i was driving up a hill.the tranny was slipping between 1st and 2nd gear.i took the vehicle into the dealership - had to replace the whole transmission ($3400).transmission again at 137,000 miles slipping between 1st and 2nd gear again - warranty expired - ford could only give me a warrant for 36,000 miles or 3 years - i'm under my 3 yrs but not mileage.took to the dealership again, now its my transmission band ($2100) but with all the wear on the transmission and the cost.i will have to replace the transmission again.during this time that my transmission problems, i also had the right (i believe it was the right) rear axle went out twice my overdrive light came on.i think there is a correlation with the overdrive system and the tranny.

Mar 08 leased 08 vw eos/ may 08 driving home (1100 miles on car) turned into subdivision going up hill car just stopped.had to be towed to dealership, they just said there was a problem with the transmission and gave me rental and then called and advised that they would give me a new 08 eos but it would have to b ordered.they repaired the original eos and i droveit until aug 08 when i was given a new 08 eos.at about 4000 the car started lunging, jerkingeither forward or back and if i was stopped on a hill i could not pull out without using gas and brake to keep from drifting back.took it in for 5000 mile check up and advised them of the problems -- they put in a new transmission.i now have 8800 miles on the vehicle with the replaced transmission so in essence may 4,000 miles on that transmission and it is beginning to power up by without my actually pushing on the gas pedal and some jerking.i am due for the 10,000 miles check up and i don't know what to expect.i am afraid to drive this car and i never use it to go further than about 20 miles from home.i don't know what recourse i have.i have another 12 months on the lease!i have no complaint with the dealership - they have treated me very well i am just reporting for your information onlysince i have had 2 vehicles . I have 2 vin numbers i don't have them available at the moment.

Just bought my cobalt at used dealership and i have issues with the power steering. It feels really hard to turn and it makes noises that just don't sound right. I'm really concerned now reading these other complaints and i think the power steering needs to be recalled before someone does get hurt or killed. This is a serious safety issue!!

2007 grand prix gxp car kept triggering engine light and turned out to be codes p0700 and p0843.135k transmission was rebuilt because reverse had gone.now @ 193k trans is back to the codes and now slipping.i've had my 99 grand prix gtp for 8 years and never had to dump a trans into it or motor into it and its at 176k miles running hard.the trans for this vehicle needs to be redone.

2004 jeep liberty sport. On march 20, 2009 while driving, the auto transmission slipped out of gear, would not shift out of 1st gear. On march 24th, liberty returned to us. Dealer charged $500 to replace wiring attached to pcm, stating they were worn out and not covered under warranty. On april 24th the same problem occurred while driving on the interstate in connecticut, the liberty abruptly downshifted from 4th to 1st gear nearly causing us to be struck by trailing vehicles, and would not go into any other driving gear. Jeep dealer in greenwich, ct said they suspected the tranny was worn but could not undertake the repair. We cancelled our trip and brought it to a local dealer on april 25th, bad pcm diagnosed, replaced. Warranty covered. Received jeep back on 5/1/09. Later the same day the problem occurred again while driving on highway. Brought it back to same dealer. Pcm replaced again we're told.liberty returned to us on 5/6/09. On 6/9/09 while driving on the highway the jeep shut down completely once again an accident was narrowly avoided. Towed to a different local dealer. Bad pcm again diagnosed. Part had to be ordered. Liberty finally returned to us on 7/2/09. On 7/9/09 while driving on local road, the transmission slipped again and would not shift out of 1st gear. We brought it back to the dealer who did last repair. As of today it remains there. The check engine light came on in each instance at the exact moment the problem occurred.

The shifter would appear to be in park and you could take keys out of car.the next morning i went to start my car it would not start, i checked all the usual stuff , gas level ,battery then it dawned on me to check the shifter since i was unable in the past to start other cars it must be in a park position (was married to an ase certified mechanic who did loss of restorations) i pulled the level forward and the car started immediately. Over time the shifting from p,r,n,d became more and more difficult to where it stuck in 3rd gear (which i never use) when i had the car towedthe floor shifter remained stuck . Yet we were able to push the car out of the driveway as easy as pie. 383.44 later it was the floor shifter and cable.

When the a/c is on and you put the vehicle in reverse, the vehicle will be at high idol and lurch.when you turn the a/c off, the idol is fine.also while driving and a/c is on, the "engine failsafe mode" comes on along with the wrench emblem.i have to pull over and turn the a/c off and turn the ignition off and wait about 2-3 minutes and restart and it is fine.all of these symptoms have happened several times.this is not normal and after reading other similar complaints, ford will not make it right.there should be a recall.it all seems to be tied in to the computer module and the a/c.my vehicle now has 65,500 miles.

Stalls in the middle of traffic while driving. Almost killed me and my kids today.

I received a recall notice from ford motor company to get my computer reprogrammed.it was because of over heating i believe, that was reported by other owners.it has caused my brand new 08 f-350 sd power stroke pkup to complete change it running and upped my amount of fuel used by an enormous amount and will not hardly pull down the road for safety it is unsafe at times to get out of the way in heavy traffic.fords component was tough they have had no complaints.so i am letting your agency know of this and how ford runs their business and hopefully you tell all the other owners to watch out for this.

I have been trying to get gmc to help and although they havebeen left messages daily can't seem to connect with me. He car is getting much worse and i am concerned about driving it. They don't appear to care and my saturn dealer in no longer a staurn dealer and cant help. Help!

A snap ring inside the transmission fails allowing the planet to shift forward breaking housing tabs off causing a external leak of transmission fluidto other vehicles driving down the road,no warning a transmission may lock up causing safetyconcerns, ford has recognized the situation before and sent a internal notice to mechanics to fix the problem, no recall was ever sent. Trucks between 90,000 and 120,000 have this problem, ford said i was first ever complaint, which is a lie, i have found through research early 2004 through 2006 models have this problem of failure without notice. Ford hopes for these to get past warranty so customer has to pay a outrageous sum to fix, so far i have found 40 cases resulting this situation in my area alone and mainly 9/10 are ford f250s. I seen the internal communication but was denied a copy of it. My service advisor at silsbee ford showed me. Also this part is not covered under any extendedwarranty, and ford denies ever having this problem, the vehicle behind me was showered with transmission fluid almost resulting in a crash because it smeared on her windshield to the point that she could not see. No warning ,so sound, i drove another 20 miles before i noticed a major slip in shifting and discovered a leak. The tranny fluid sprayed all over the exhaust pipe smoking and a stench of burning tranny fluid.

Car was not accelerating properly, loud engine noise, lurching forward while stopped, when driving car shakes, vehicle is hesitating ride not smooth. Check engine light appeared.also left turn signal flashes too fast. 2006 srx timing chain and related components replaced 07/09 and again 01/11. Replaced left turn signal bulb and socket. No explanation given as to why either occurred.

2002 grand am gt had rack and pinion steering column replaced may 9, 2007.nine days later, part failed.general motors said it was a manufacturer's defect in the parts.rack and pinion system was replaced again on 5-24-07.problem remains and have to take to another dealership for diagnosis.other dealership preliminary diagnosis is same problem.safety concern!!!. Steering becomes difficult.i have a 6-year old and drive on the highway often with her.this needs to be investigated for safety concerns.

I own a 2002 volkswagen jetta 1.8t at 56000 miles the transmission went out of it and at 56000 this shouldn't happen i have it at a transmission shopand they found metal shavings in the pan has their been a recall on this problem and if not can i get some assistance getting this problem fixed because at 56000 miles this should have never happened sense i've owned this car it has been nothing but trouble very unhappy with the way the volkswagen dealer byers in columbus ohio and the volkswagen of amercia is handling this problem the code we get is po730 i would truly appreciate some help with getting this fixed thank you tom.

I have a 2007 for explorer.while i was driving on the interstate the vehicle went from 65 mph to 20 mph.i took the vehicle to the ford dealer who advised that the transmission went out.that this is a know issue with the explorer from 2002 to 2008.i contacted six other independent transmission shops who also advised that this is a know issue for ford explorers year 2002 to 2008.i then contacted ford customer relationship center 800-392-3673 who advised that even though its a know issue with ford that only dealer repair reports count towards a recall with nhtsa not independent transmission company's repair of the problem.i explained to them that i had a two year old in the vehicle with me not only my life was in danger but a child also.the response from fords customer service group was regardless no one got hurt.

Loud humming noise from the drivers side rear end. Excessive wear on rear drivers side tire. Got louder the higher the mph went. Had mechanic inspect and found the arm from the wheel to the differential was separated and about to come apart. Mistubishi dealer repaired and charged 2100.00 to fix.

I bought a 2003 saturn vue new in 2003, in 2006 the transmission went out , the saturn dealer ship replaced it. Then in 2008 the transmission went out again and the dealer ship said it was know longer under warranty . Why can they not recall these suv's to replace the transmission it cost 4500 dollars if you can find one. My car still looks like new but just doesn't run , i'm am so discussed and now saturn is no longer in business so are we just out of luck?

2003 kia spectra-bought new on 08/04/2003-power train automatic transmission. At 9652 miles--trans replaced --so i was told. This started on12/03/03-send that date-the car has been in & out shop. I do have 100,000 warranty-i had been back 5 times with trans leaks-told nose-loose-whatever. Now there is a tick in engine. As of 7/28/2008 with only 58,230 miles on car-the car back again --no fluid in trans.ticking in engine- i had replace on car also sop-02 sensor--pipe assy-oil--gasket-hose-clamp assy-spiii atf--gasket again-senor oxygen-emission control 2x within 2 days apart-clutch/trans/drive also 2 x within 3 days apart? car goes back again on 07/29/08--same problems-car has no trans fluid in it-

The problem that i'm concerned about is the transmission and rear end.for the transmission-this is the third time for this problem with our truck. Had it at the dealer ship just after the warranty went out around 37,000 an paid a little over $600.00 to fix it . Lasted till 80,000 them took it back and paid around $200.00 to fix. Now at 136,000 and the truck will not move at all. Dealer ship wants another $3,306.00 to fix it again. The rear end is making a loud wine noise.

In 2006 i purchased a 2005 ford freestar van used with 23,000 miles on it, and in 2007 the transmission stopped suddenly while i was driving. The 2007 transmission repair cost me approx. $3600. Today 02/05/11, i was driving at 65 mpfh on a 2 lane highway(both lanes going one way) when my van stopped accelerating without warning. I nearly was struck by an 18 wheeler in traffic as i attempted to safely get off the roa, i would have been killed. This is twice a transmission has failed in this vehicle! nhtsa please do something to force ford motor co. To be honest about the defective transmissions they put in this vehicle. Please , before someone is killed - perhaps people have already died because of this. Please help me.

I bought my 2008 ford escape xlt in 2007.in aug. Of 08' i had to take it in to the dealer and they said it was my transmission.they found that the pump support was worn and worn through the seal rings. I was at 29,094 miles.ford fixed it under warranty.it is now december of 10' and i am at 73,000 miles and having the exact same issues only this time i took it in and they will not cover the repair.the tech report i received states the exact same thing it did when i took it in08'.i went to this website:http://www.carcomplaints.com/ford/escape/2008/transmission/transmission_cooler_failure-tsb_exists.shtml and found many people are having transmission issues.i paid 25,000 for this vehicle and should not have gone through 2 transmissions! what i noticed both times is that it would shift hard into reverse and it felt as though it was slipping once it warmed up.

04 maxima se w/ 55k miles.took in to nissan dealer due to problems shifting from 2nd to 1st and 1st to 2nd.they recommended transmission flush and said 2 motor mounts were broke.did not fix the problem.replaced transmission with used 04 maxima transmission w/ 21k miles from totaled car, this transmission is also bad with the same problem, shifting hard from 2nd to 1st.3rd transmission in the mail w/ 6k miles.very dissapointed in nissan.will never buy a nissan again.

Transmission does not shift smoothly, especially when coming to a stop you can feel and hear the transmission down shifting. First we could feel the engine jutter between 35 - 40 mph when upshifting. Dealer said it needed a software upgrade. We got the software upgrade - made it worse. They then said it needed a new torque converter. The new torque converter fixed the juttering, now the downshifting is not smooth. We took it to the dealer again and they are telling us it's fine. I've spoken to a mechanic and he mentioned that he has heard a lot of complaints regarding the odyssey's transmission.

Took my 2005 pilot in for major service 100k . Vehicle has been maintained with regular intervals of fluid replacement and oil changes at non honda shops but with certified compatible products from valvoline. Mileage on car is 107,928. Picked up car was running great. Within 7 miles flashing d light engine warning light stays on and car feels like its losing power and won't shift. Dealer says its coincidence. No slowing of transmission no warning when dealer did major service and all point inspection with honda diagnostic computer. Contacted dealer was told car should be drivable to bring it in. Car stalled out jerked back and rpms soared almost causing me to get rear ended while traveling at 35 miles an hour. Drove car 20 miles an hour and jerked back again causing me to be stuck in the middle of an intersection. Pulled over turned car off and back on only engine silhouette still on and drove 20 mph to dealership. Car in dealership mileage is 107953 and am told its a complete transmission failure on a sealed transmission that dealer couldn't detect three days earlier. No warning system or failed warning system on a very dangerous major car failure. I was also told that it was an emissions problem even car has beenthough my car passed smog in may 2012 with above average rating. My point is why is there no warning or detection to this potentially life threatening car failure?????

Transmission broke first time and replaced at end of 2005.last week i and my two baby was entering in interstate... Car stopped and felt like was in neutral...closer to cause a big accident...after incident, changed the solenoids, but did work... Need a transmission replace again!!!!!

Failure of transmission. I had my transmission overhauled 35,000 miles ago on my ford freestar and now i'm going to have to do it again or replace it entirely. I've noticed online that many others have had the same problem with the same year and model as mine.

I took my tuck to have starter replaced twice within a years time.about two months went by and my truck is doing the same thing. When i drive it for a short distance it will not start i have sit for an hour before it start's. The dealer ship that i take my truck keep telling i need a new starter when i just had it replaced. I thank they have defective starter or they don't put a new starter on my turck. I cann't see a starter going bad three times within a year.

I have seen several ford explorers ranging from years 1995-2001 that the frames are rusting through and breaking. I feel this is a serious safety issue. There is a severe rust problem with these frames and they appear to be manufactured quite thin to begin with. From what i have seen on over a dozen of these cars in my area, the frame is rusting through and breaking on the left rear corner anywhere from the front mount on the lr leaf spring to where the bumper mounts at the back of the frame. The cross member holding the body mounts is also rusting through in this area and coming into contact with the gas tank and also making the spare tire loose and at risk of falling out of the vehicle and becoming a hazard for following motorists. There is no good way to fix this problem and i feel that these vehicles should be recalled to get them off of the road. This is a very serious issue and i am not sure how there haven't been crashes and or deaths as a result of this very poor design and quality vehicle. Action needs to be taken immediately because from what i have seen this problem is just now starting to really take effect because of the aging vehicles.

Car model: new ford fiesta year: 2011delivery date: march 25, 2011kilometers: 3000following the replacement of the transmission assembly due to grinding noise and random acceleration in june 2011, i.e. 2 months after the delivery date of my new fiesta, much more problems with the new transmission, the dealer refused to repair denying the exiting problems, a complaint was to ford headquarters on 12 july 2011. A service manager left me a voice mail that everything is ok with the car! i wonder,on what basis did she build up her decision?!the following problems are not ok!1- random acceleration2- rolls back while on a drive position (randomly and unexpectedly)3- hesitation (obvious can?t be denied) the car loses its power randomly and after a long drive.4- buzzing grinding noise when pressing the gas pedal increasing day after daythe above mentioned are safety issues and have to do with transmission.i'm still waiting for for headquarters to address the issue properly, and take the responsibility, escaping the problem won't solve it.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

Stalls in the middle of traffic while driving. Almost killed me and my kids today.

Bad gas from sunoco gas stations. New gas blend.6 mercedes benz serviced for all 4 oxygen sensor burned out in boston ma.

97 s-10 pickup, 3.4l, w code engine.problems with faulty fuel level readings, and hard cold starts in the morning or after sitting for several hours.fuel pump appears to be failing as pressure is low on initial start.research on several internet web pages and forums indicates this is a common problem for s-10 pickups and blazers from this time period.

Transmission locked up and threw me from the vehicle going 50 mph downhill!i was in hospital/icu from sept 17th, 2004 to ~ mid october.lucky to be alive.vehicle was a 1995 geo tracker.could someone contact me?i need help.

Driving when stopped tried to put vehicle in drive and would not go. The failure is the transmission, have had the vehicle for a littler over a year and has been in the shop for at least 9 months.

In january the power steering motor was replaced in my 2007 saturn. In march the new motor failed. I have been trying to get gmc to help and although they havebeen left messages daily can't seem to connect with me. He car is getting much worse and i am concerned about driving it. They don't appear to care and my saturn dealer in no longer a staurn dealer and cant help. Help!

The failures on this truck and failure of gm to do anything about it would fill up ten pages. But the current complaint, one we have had for some time, is that the steering wheel locks up when making turns.lately i have seen that they recalled gm cars with this problem but did nothing about the trucks. This is dangerous and needs fixing. When we took it to a gm dealer they told us there is nothing wrong with it. But, it seizes up when you try to make turns. We have missed driveways and almost hit things because it freezes up. It becomes impossible to steer.we haven't had a serious accident yet, but it's just a matter of time. Gm has again refused to address the many failures on this truck.this happens at all speeds.

Engine revvs and vehicle is thrusted forward at top speed from dead start or when slowing down. This is the second on this problem. Both times lead to property damage, and accident.
