The contact owns an outlaw carbon helmet, model number ax30020. The contact stated that after receiving notification of nhtsa campaign i.d. Number: 12e051000 (equipment), he mailed the helmet back to the manufacturer. The manufacturer did not send the contact a new helmet has stated in the recall. The contact called the manufacturer regarding the new helmet and the manufacturer stated that the replacement helmet was on back order.
I purchased an outlaw helmet from leatherup.com in 2012. I was contacted about the recall, and returned the defective helmet. It is april 3, and time to start riding my bike. I have placed many phone calls to the person in charge of the recall, only to be told that the replacement helmets aren't in yet. They sell what seem to be the same helmet at leatherup.com under a different model number. My problem here is that i need a helmet. They have the old helmet, and i have no helmet. I opted for the replacement because i liked the style of helmet, and the light. If i had known that i was not going to get a replacement, i would have opted for a refund. The helmet was returned to tegol industries on 2/25/13.
