I have had to replace the driver's side headlamp 3 times in 3 years. Apparently i am not the only one, the chats and blogs are full of similar complaints internationally. According to what i have read, i am one of the lucky ones. Others have experienced much more frequent replacements. Curiously enough, the driver's side lamp is the one that blows. I have saved the last lamp replaced. It is a sylvania silverstar. This is the third brand of bulb / lamp.my wife is night blind. She tries to avoid driving after dark. The undependable lighting system poses a serious safety hazard in her case and i am sure in seniors who require more light to see clearly.

*** model not available on website***model: osram sylvania zevo led light bulb 194bought sylvania zevo led lights for the interior dome light and door light for my car. They are the correct lights to be put in my 2007 toyota camry, i checked on amazon, and it also said in the description of the amazon listing that it was for a dome light. I went to install the dome light first exactly how the instructions state "if no light, remove the bulb, rotate, and re-install". That is exactly what happened, there was no light the first time so i rotated it, and re-installed. About 5 seconds after i smelt electrical fire, and then i saw smoke coming from the driver side under the dash. The car was in the garage at the time, so i hurried to move it out and disconnect the battery. At this point in time the whole cabin of the car was filled with smoke. I never touched the car after that, and let my mechanic handle it. They found that junction block 3 had melted and possibly had caught fire, as there were burn marks on it. They replaced junction block 3, but there are still a lot of weird things that are happening to the car due to electrical problems. Also my mechanic said that the instructions given by the bulb company were very poor. He said that one way is like sticking a screwdriver in the socket and the other gives you light. Also if i hadn't disconnected the battery it could have done a lot more damage.

Low beam headlight bulb oem was sylvania hid-9500 part #. Can no longer obtain parts from lincoln. This is a common problem for this vehicle, and after market/conversions/kits are very inferior. These items being sold and installed on vehicles cause problems for motoring public. Low light, out of focus, headlights blind oncoming drivers etc. I have tried several of these it's just as good as new retro fits and notice the parts all come from foreign countries with no attempt to comply with nhtsa or dot standards. Is there any way your agency may intervene on behalf of owners of these vehicles to cause ford to make an approved replacement part available or stop the import of poorparts and kits from being sold to uneducated consumers. Not only is it a waste of time and money, these import "fix it kits" are dangerous. My lincoln dealer printed me a page from his parts guide showing that ford no longer has this bulb, telling me to show this to the police if i get stopped driving with a headlight burned out. Seems kind of bizarre to have a $40,000.00 car that you can't buy a $40.00 bulb for.fyi these foreign products being offered as answers to this problem sell for $400.00 up on ebay and other inet sites.

Normal driving my 2005 toyota prius, the driver's side headlight randomly turns off.i turn the lights off and then back on and the light, most of the time, will return for a minute or two.hid bulb replacement was done and problem still exists.hid bulbs are not cheap.i have been pulled over 3 times in the last 3 weeks. It seems like it will cost approximately $2500 to hopefully fix my headlight.pretty extreme for a headlight?definitely a traffic and safety hazard only operating with one headlight.

I purchased sylvania silver star headlight bulbs, hoping to increase the distance i could see.the recent article in consumer reports confirms my impression on this product. I saw no increase in distance. Is there something i can do about getting my money refunded? i tried sylvania web site no responce.
