On july 20, 2010, i was stopped at a traffic light when i was rear-ended by another vehicle. The force of the crash was such that the rear of the car i was driving sustained several thousand dollars in damage. The force also, propelled me into the car stopped in front of me. This other car sustained damage to their bumper to dislodge it from its supports and throw their rear window off track. There is no place in the repair bill that stated that the airbag was reset because it failed to deploy. Given the fact that the rear crumple zone was destroyed, and the rear quarter panels were replaced, this car is rented by budget under the guise of it being safe. The paperwork i received from budget also states that the features of this nissan sentra (2010) is front, rear and side airbags. Since all of the rear of the car was destroyed it can be safely assumed that the airbag sensor should have been triggered. If both from the rear of the car definitely from the force of my car being propelled into the car in front of me. Budget rented this car as being a "safe" car with this nissan safety equipment when it clearly is not.

Airbag failure x2 on front end crash with significant damage & disabling injuries in 2004 & again in 2006 i have made complaints on same & was told no other like complaints on any 99 nissans.

Td insurance company has an written estimate for the use of used airbags in repair of a consumers car. The insurance company is td insurance from canada.this insurance company has a complete disregard for their customers safety.there is no certifiable evidence demonstrating that salvaged air bags will work properly in a real world crash.the precise history of any salvaged part, including salvaged airbags, is suspect at best.any number of factors can compromise the quality of an airbag after a vehicle is salvaged.salvaged air bags are subject to exposure in uncontrolled salvage yard environmental conditions.airbags may have been exposed to harmful environmental conditions such as flood damage, unknown heat or humidity prior to salvage.there are no trusted procedures for testing and inspecting salvaged airbags to validate the operability or structural integrity of the unit.quote from a asa press release; odi officials recommended that independent repairers should contact the agency when they observe occurrences of used or salvage airbags being used in vehicle repair. They also suggested that repairers contact them when they observe trends in repairing the same vehicle model with the same repair concerns. Odi can be reached at www.odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/recallsearch.cfm.

Airbag light on dash keep blinking in the off/on position. Turn the airbag off, then back on and it started blinking and keeps blinking while truck is running.

My wife skidded off a freshly graveled road and nose-dived into a ditch frontend first, catapulted the vehicle into a c/clockwise spin and wrapped the vehicle around a tree.the original impact was front end and no airbags deployed.the passenger side was completely crushed hitting the tree with what would appear as a side curtain airbag deployment.on investigation, it appears the air bag was torn out of the center wall (no propellant smell or residue).had the air bags deployed there would not have been injuries that certainly would not have required med-a-vac.jpc/sc .

Nissan versa 2007-> traveling on a hwy approximate speed 110 kms/hour, sliding off the road and over steering my vehicle resulting in 8.5 rollovers. My passenger air bags deployed above head panel succeeded only if there was passenger in my vehicle. Long story short, why were my driver bags, steering wheel, side head panel not deployed? this happened a couple days ago. Single vehicle accident. Im the only occupant in the vehicle. This investigation is going on. Prior to this accident. The door sounded hallow when it was shut and not really a firm solid shut like most doors. Sounded more like and old rusted 85 chevy silverado door like an empty echo inside sound. Could this car been tampered with before? carfax can only prove it if it was properly done and submitted. Perhaps a person who knew how to fix it with out submitting information to properly secure a non accident history report. Lemon for sure on the air bag issue. I can only say that its good to be alive and see my kids again.

I was driving last night and my air bag sensor started blinking in the dash for no apparent reason.less then 6 months ago i had the same issue.i contacted the dealership and nissan consumer affairs to inform them of the problem.they had my car for almost a month and i thought it had been fixed.this is the second time for this issue to occur.i do not in anyway feel safe in this car.it goes back to the dealership to be repaired again and i want it permanently fixed.i don't know the equipment details so you'll have to check with nissan.i had to put something inorder to proceed with complaint.

I ran off the left side of a mountain road hitting a large tree with the driver's door, then continued down the hill another ~20 feet slamming into a boulder.when i hit the tree, the driver's door window broke as well as the driver's side rear door.the door was jammed shut.the nissan was equipped with front side impact airbags and both front and rear head protection airbags.none were deployed.when i hit the boulder, the front passenger airbag deployed, but the driver's front airbag failed to deploy.the pre-tensioner on the driver's seatbelt did not latch resulting in me hitting my upper chest and lower jaw on the steering wheel since the airbag did not deploy.the fuel cut-off device also failed to activate and shut off the engine.after almost a minute, i turned off the engine with the key.i had been knocked unconscious for several seconds.the 2004 nissan murano sustained over $25,000 in damage which resulted in it being totaled by my insurance company.the airbag light would illuminate briefly when starting the car prior to the accident.so there was no indication of an airbag malfunction.there was substantial damage to the driver's side of the vehicle as well as the front and undercarriage. My injuries were limited to bruises to my chest and lower jaw.the accident also greatly aggravated a prior injury to my upper back.when i went to go remove my personal belongings from the vehicle, i found that the jack, mounted in the rear floor had come completely out.

This is a complaint as to how a dealership and corporation is handling a recall.a nissan dealership is using airbag recalls as a way to draw people in for unnecessary services; without being able to even do the airbag replacement required.reed nissan in orlando, fl contacted us via phone stating they would like to schedule an airbag recall repair.we agreed and set up a time and date.when the car was brought in, the service personnel at the dealership said they could only perform an oil change (which was not requested by us) and that an airbag replacement part would not be available until spring of 2018.their advice to us was to not get into an accident until then.i feel this is deplorable behavior that requires some investigation on the part of nissan corporate and perhaps the nhtsa.when dealerships abuse recall notices to draw consumers in for unnecessary maintenance/repairs; it hurts the public's confidence in the recall process.why bother paying attention to recall notices when dealerships and car companies won't do anything to fix the issue?

Pedals on my 2007 nissan murano are moving on their on accord. Appears to be defective wiring. Dealer wants me to pay $315 to fix. They had agreed two years ago to fix the problem when i purchased the vehicle and they never did.this is a serious safety issue.

I was driving my vehicle, 2003 nissan altima, at a low speed, when for no apparent reason, the vehicle died.it was during the evening hours.i was lucky the driver behind me didn't run into me.i was able to restart the car, and drive off.the car didn't do it again, but a week later, the check engine light came on.i took the car into the dealership.they told me the cause of the problem was a crank angle sensor. It was faulty and that's why my car died, without any warning.i found out that, nissan had a recall on this item.i called nissan north america inc and spoke to a person name david.david confirmed that they did have a recall on the sensor but it was only on certain years for the altima.i told david that maybe all the altima's with this sensor should be recalled and replaced.further investigation, i found a owner notification from nissan telling me that my altima, there is a possibility that the engine might stop running while being driven due to an electrical problem between the crank angle sensor and ecm.i took it to the dealer after receiving their notice.the dealer reprogram the ecm unit, but never replaced the sensor.i told david at nissan that they should have replaced the sensor at the time when they reprogram the ecm.it was very scary when my car just died suddenly.i was very lucky i didn't get hurt.i am letting you know because i feel nissan shouldrecall all their vehicle equip with this sensor.i was very very lucky not to have been involved in an accident.i told david at nissan that i don't feel safe driving my car anymore.

First day for pick up, headlight pop, fix it the next day, took 90 minutes just to fix one headlight, after 6 weeks, car turns off when driving one of the most busiest hwy and the steering locks; only way to start it is by putting it to "park" hold brakes down all the way then push the button and coming from that, it was not safe at all, drivers were honking and swerving just to maneuver away from me, called dealership to where i purchase car to fix the problem, told them that the car had turned off 4 times on the same hwy and thank god it turned off on a straight away not while turning, showed them a video in which i intend to hold for evidence. Drop it off 7:00am, dealership had said about codes; there was nothing wrong with the car and had replug every plug that was on the car in which it would be reset, gave car back within 9 hours saying the car will not turn off again and if it happens again bring it back. After a week and a half, the car had turned off plus with the gauges(not knowing the speed i was going) and radio display went out and this is when it was raining hectic and i wasn't able to use high beams automatically to where it locks forward but to pull it towards me manually while driving. Already told dealership that this car is a big concern on the road for safety because when it turns off i become a crashing incident in which if that happens i will blame nissan for that.

I was driving about 25 minutes on the turnpike and pulled off for gas, the secondi turned off the car smoke started to pour inside from the front area and also pouring from theunder hood area. This turned into an actual fire next to a gas pump. Fire dept. Was called to put it out . Engine totally burned up and hood etc...

On september 17, my driver's door would not open with the keyless entry or with the actual key. I called nissan of queens to state again that something fraudulent was done to my car since my initial visit on september 4.they advised me to come in to "check" the problem.however, past experience leads me to believe it will be to "fix" the door, charge me some ridiculous amount, and then create another malfunction.this new malfunction will have me coming back the next week for a repeat of this fraudulent service. My car is breaking down before my eyes and i cannot understand why nissan would let this happen to a loyal customer. As you know tampering with my car door can be harmful to my person in the following ways:1.having a secure environment is paramount in certain neighborhoods. When locking the doors it's imperative nobody can gain access at will by walking up to the car. If anyone can simply open the door to gain access, carjacking, injury, or even murder is easier. If the doors locked properly this provides a more secure environment for this type of scenario. 2.there is a security problem with nissan locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. It's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. Remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. The drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery.3.in emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. Since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. The locking/unlocking solenoid malfunctioning is clearly a high risk in emergency scenarios. Some people who cannot afford the $1600 to have all the solenoids replaced (as quoted by dealers).

I purchased this xterra in may of 2006.in the past 8 weeks i have had to have my 06 nissan xterra towed to the dealer six times for the same issue of not starting.the first time i was told i was out of gas.since then, i've been told the security module had gone bad, i had corrosion on the battery terminal causing it to go in to stolen mode, the fuel pump had gone bad (replaced twice), and the wiring harness to the fuel pump had a short in it (replaced twice).the dealer says they have not been able to replicate the problem and want to give me my car back without actually finding out the real issue.this is my family vehicle and i do not do any towing or off-road with it.prior to these issues, my transmission went out at 11k miles and left me stranded on the side of an interstate for over 3 hours while i waited for a tow truck, and have had to have the fuel gauge sensor, catalytic converter, and tire pressure sensors replaced.

My 1996 nissan maxima caught on fire by itself in the midnight, and it was almost completely destroyed by the fire. I received the vehicle from my friend as a gift, which was in a very good condition. And i also paid the buckner's auto service center at knoxville, tn for checking the car in detail and getting it repaired. But 8 days after, the car was on fire. During the 8 days, the car was parked in the parking lot in front of my apartment, and nobody ever touched the car. It's cloudy or rainy in all these days. Though fortunately my wife and i were safe, we were really scared and my wife was afraid of vehicles from then on. We have arrived at the u.s less than 2 months, and this incident almost completely disrupted our lives. The following is the description from the knoxville police department crime report:the vehicle had not been driven for eight days. Interviewed car owner, who states he has been in the us for about one month, and had received the vehicle as a gift from a friend. He said that he had taken the car for repairs and to be serviced at buchners auto repair on 9/8/2009 and had an invoice of the work performed. He said that the car had not been driven since then because he was still in the process of obtaining his driver license. There was only an 8 mile difference the invoice mileage and the cars odometer reading.investigation of the vehicle revealed an engine compartment fire. The car was locked and hood was secure when eng 12 arrived. Then had to force the hood since the cable did not function due to fire damage. Areas of high heat were indicated on the hood over the battery and fuel/air intake locations. Also of note was that the cooling fans were destroyed and one had fallen to the ground. This fire is considered to accidental and the cause to be a mechanical or electrical malfunction. The owner does not have insurance on the vehicle. Suggested that the owner take photos and contact buchners to check for any recalls or to's for this vehicle.

I have a 2011 nissan sentra that caught fire inside due to some electrical problems nissan wont address the issue satisfactorilyi want someone to look into this being as though they are not the car is brand [xxx] new and shouldnt have this problem where no one is able to tell us why it happened.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My murano suddenly would not accelerate and the abs and brake lights illuminated.the same exact description of the original recall for the alternator.i had to tow to dealer and luckily i still was under extended warranty so it was mostly covered.called nissan this morning and they informed me that the recall was already performed for my vehicle in september of 2006.obviously they didn't learn from their original mistake.they should be doing repair again for free and paying for the battery that got fried in the process.

Cv valves causing engine to shut down also reported motor problems at 20,000 miles and replaced motor at 50,000 and electrical and air conditioner problems with a recall on the clutch fans and now leaking fluids and overheating occurs often and occasionally transmission has difficulty shifting into drive and while in drive unable to down shift manually the features for manual shifting are not working also gauges such as brake ,check engine, air pressure lights are alwayson no way to turn these warning lights off cigarette lighters have never worked and when engine is shut down and no key is in the ignition the gauges flick rapidly on the speedometer, fuel, tac odem, a loud clicking is heard for minutes sounding from the engine at the time the gauges flick, also the ex-cab doors are broken the locks was told the truck was on of the trucks bought from louisiana after hurriciane katrina and was sent form norman, okla to mcalester, okla to brad fenton motors i purchased this truck in 06 with less then 400 miles and i've had a number of problems and repairs and continue to have new problems and have yetto receive a letter from the manufacture about the electrical and fan and air conditioning recalls on the 06 nissan titans that was recalled in august 2008 this is very upsetting and a sellsman at a nissan dealership informed me about 500 titans purchased very cheap all brand new vehicles said to been sent to parts of oklahoma and these trucks were said to be fixed for water damage and any repairs needend to theses trucks these trucks were bought after being sumerged in water and minor repairs were made and then these trucks were sold as brand new without any knowledge about water damages and sold very expensive with out any discount. I am wanting to know if my titan was purchased during hurricane katrina and what dealership it was bought from originally before it was delivered to me at the time of purchase i want to know all recalls and car fax and any reports made .

Bought 2005 nissan murano 8-08, had electrical problems 1st week replaced battery, 2nd week ,labor day weekend alternator failed, had replaced under warranty. Took 2 and a half to 3weeks in shop . 3 weeks later the replacement alternator failed also.

My van had the red key warning light go on and smelled like electrical burning. I had it towed immediately to a nissan dealer kelly nissan lynnfield ma. They did check the bulletins until after test driving it twiceand burning out the ignition coils they just replaced and burned out my catalytic converter (they put a new one on without reporting it) they were advised in writing not to do any work except replace the coils they said they burned out and only then at no cost to me. They replaced more than what was originally written, charged me and when they test drove it and ruined the converter it sucked up debris into the engine and destroyed my engine. Called corporate nissan who said they could not help ( after they gave a 300.00 coupon because of the deception prior to finding out about the damaged engine).it all started from a loose ground wire that caused the coils to overwork and burned out. I ended up paying about $900 for repairs because the misdiagnosed and damaged parts, now the engine is estimated at 6800. To replace. I m disabled and barely able to afford the roof over my head and food. This is unacceptable behavior, niss says the dealers are independantly owned, yet they l have the same maker. I kept the coils they put in however they removed a box with the first replaced ones and did to put them all back for me as instructed. I have two technicians one a nissan tech who says it is directly due to kelly nissan's misdiagnosis and driving of the car to the point of burning up the parts. What does a consumer need to do to protect themselves? the car is out of warranty. All parts except the converter they also kept and the initial coils i have. The van was towed to the shop i used and engine light came on immediately from first time drivenstill in dealer lot, they could to find problemalthough heard sound from engine and read the misfire codes until second look after it started pouring smoke out the exhaust and sound became so bad and car was deemed unsafe to drive.

Throttle on car goes out unexpectedly.engine is still powered on, however acceleration is not possible.

Front and rear suspension, steering, brakes, body work, drivers door. Had issues right after wife bought the car she went without me but upon looking at car after she came home with it did the car fax on it on thing were some electrical checks that's it no accidents. Steering tight when i drove it and noticed noise from suspension when going over railroad tracks and driver door sagging. Brought to dealer next day and the said a bar was rubbing on another they fix they said nothing wrong with suspension in hearing things is there exact words and replaced the door hinges which are purple and the car is red door sagging again but i was involved in accident end of 2008 got sideswiped by 2500 dodge ram truck at 45 mph on driverside having problems with that because body shop on repair damage not replaced i brought my car to another body shop because of issues im having and they said work was done incorrectly. And transmission has always when i drive more than 20 miles continuously when i come to stop and start again the tranny alwaysslips bad between 2nd and 3rd gear and into 4th sometimes.

I currently own a 2005 nissan frontier.3 months ago, the vehicle had been stalling on me every several days, it would immediately turn back on.last month it began shutting down on me every 2 days, a few times on the highway, almost getting rear ended a couple of times.it would turn back on, but after several tries and after 15-20 min wait.after checking recalls on my vehicle i noticed i had not been contacted about a recall for the replacement of a ecm relay, which was causing vehicles to shutdown.this relay was replaced and vehicle had been running fine for 3 weeks, but my vehicle has now started to sputter every few days.it has shutdown on me twice in the last couple of weeks.

I was driving my '05 nissan armada (27,000 miles) with my 2 yr old son and smelled a strong odor, thinking it was from a truck driving next to me.i picked up my daughter, put both children in their car seats and started the ignition. Two puffs of smoke came out on either side of the engine.i quickly unbuckled my children, ran them into the school and smoke started billowing out of the engine.the fire dept was called & school was evacuated.within 15 min, the engine area was engulfed in flames.the vehicle was a total loss.i hadmultiple problems with the battery.nissan has refused to assist me in any way.

The battery has been replaced twice in the vehicle and it has less than 35,000 miles on it. The first replacement was done when the car was only about 6 months old and i just recently had to have the battery replaced again. The second battery was supposed to be an 84,000 mile battery and was under warranty. However, when i was driving it, the car died on me and would not start again. The battery had less than 26,000 miles on it. Nissan fought us on the replacement even though it was under warranty, but we finally got another one put in. We are on our 3rd battery in less than 3 years. This same vehicle had an engine mount crack at 32,000 miles and has also had the radiator replaced at 34,000 miles. It has been in the shop 4 times now in the last 2 1/2 months. When the radiator went out, the gauges did not even say that the car was running hot. I discovered the issue when my car started smoking everywhere and coolant was all over my vehicle. Nissan insists that it is not an electrical issue of any kind and that the gauge can still read cool if the radiator goes out and the car is smoking. All in all, i now have the 3rd new battery, a new radiator, and a new engine mount. The drive belts have also cracked, but nissan refused to do anything about that.

I have a 2006 nissan frontier nismo i have had 3 fuel "sending units" replaced and have only21000 miles on the truck. This is due to very erratic and somewhat unsafe defective equipment ie; gas gauge/sending unit. I recently had it replaced for the third time and it is now worse than before. I am very frustrated and this seems to be a universal problem with the gas gauge/sending unit. I would like to see a recall and this problem fixed once and for all. Thanks

Name: [xxx]. Vehicle: nissan xterra, 2006, vin [xxx].fuel tank level gauge was showing erratic reading and was replaced by the dealer with total charges of $377.93 (including labor charges). I am not sure that this gauge is replaced by the modified float arm.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

While driving at 65 mph in morning rush traffic my vehicles engine went to idle creating a very dangerous condition since i was in the center lane with cars and trucks on all sides. After getting off the highway the car quit and would not restart. The vehicle was towed to my dealer and the alternator was found to be bad. This alternator was replaced in a safety recall in 2006.the mileage at the time of recall was 19965 the mileage on 10/29/09 was 48723.the alternator that the dealer put on for the recall (p5215) was a rebuilt. I bought this car new and think it should have been a new alternator.

I have a 2005 nissan xterra. The engine light came on. I took it to auto zone to have it check. The error codes read p0463 fuel level senior high input (includes hybrid models) i understand that nissan had a recall on this problem with seveal of there autos. Beside xterra's. I want them to fix it since it's a recall. But can't get thrm to do it.

My 2005 nissan pathfinder started stalling last week. I would be driving on the highway and it would just go dead making it near impossible to turn the steering wheel. I was towed to the nissan dealership whom informed me it was an ipdm issue which was in the process of a recall.iinformed them i was strapped for money being it was a 700 dollar job. They said chances were it would be covered. It was not covered! i was informed by their consumer affair people if there was infact a recall i may be notified for reimbursement. I have found on numerous sites that it is recalled but because i did not receive a letter it is not their problem. This is not the first issue i've had with nissan. A fuel sensor issue was found and they covered nothing telling me it was not a safety issue. I was out of warranty so tough luck. Another 377.00 bucks. Please investigate nissans practices. I will never trust the nissan name again.

I have a check engine light that codes to a "cam position sensor" problem. I was going to have my regular mechanic repair it, but then i was told that there was a previous recall on this part. I called nissan and they said to take it to a certified nissan dealer and verify it was a "cam position sensor" code. The dealer verified it was.the dealer said their records showed thatpart had been replaced once before, but nissan said the repair would be taken care of. When i brought the car in for the repair, the dealer called me later to say he couldn't repair the part because the problem was the connector not the sensor. The cost just happened to be the same price as the cam position sensor. ($260.00) i found that to be a very coincidental. L told them not to replace the connector and i would like to research the cost of the connector to make sure they weren't pulling the wool over my eyes. To date the repair hasn't been made. Is there a danger to my wife if she drives this vehicle? i'd like nissan to pay for the cost of the connector.my case filewith nissan is # 6381655. The representative i spoke with was marcus. His extension at nissan's 800 phone number is # 41490. Are there any other complaints about this part going out twice?i'd appreciate any help you can give me. Greg thompson

Heater in vehicle went out have spent $999.79 because parts melted now approx. 2 weeks after parts replaced smells as if something is burning and now dealer informs me i need a new blower that will cost an additional $414.63 and i have very little heat again.i foresee this as a possible fire hazard and nissan needs to re-design this faulty equipment. I am talking with nissan consumer affairs and service manager but they keep telling me i am out of warranty .vehicle had 83,533 miles when took it to shop first time they also replaced the radiator because they said it was cracked.

2005 nissan altima built in 2004 bad crank shaft sensor, was already recalled2002 & 2003 models and nissan is not recalling the 2004 built ones.

I purchased an after-market engine cold air intake for my 2006 nissan pathfinder.approximately a month after i installed the intake a piece of metal from the intake broke of and got lodged in the throttle of my vehicle during a trip to los angeles, ca.the metal piece caused my car's engine to stall the die completely on the freeway within a matter of seconds.i was able to safely get my vehicle to the side of the road.i had the vehicle towed to a mechanic in barstow, ca who removed the metal debris from the throttle.the mechanic informed me the metal had broken loose from inside the intake.when i removed the intake and examined the inside i found more pieces of metal ready to break free.the metal fragments were left hanging and cleaned up after the metal was cut and the o2 sensor fitting was welded on.

My titan, as i'm driving hesitates, or momentarily cuts response, and my engine stalls and turns off, i have since then found out that my ipdm was the responsible component for such stalls.....it happens twice a day at ungiven times, i replaced the ipdm and have had no problems.

This isn't fair. 2002 nissan altima. 5900 miles. Man this car is junk, nissan should reimburse people about that, work car ever. And i notice everyone have the same problem. The car stall, camshft problem.. Something need to be done. Its not safe when u driving and car die on you.

On 1/25/10, my 2002 altima with only 27,000 miles on it, kept stalling or not starting during 3 shopping stops. I thought it was my battery and was near clark auto where my battery is under warranty...

The engine light periodically flashed on/off.we had the car serviced at a nissan dealer which cost $1000.3 months later,we spent $300.finally,2 months later the motor goes out and we spend $5000 to replace it in a car less than 4yrs old(bought brand new -not a used vehicle).furthermore, the car would just slow down and stop periodically(no matter if you were on the interstate or not).

Nissan uses faulty equipment in their vehicles and ashly at their consumer affairs dept actually told me that nissan only expects their vehicles to last the 3 yrs or 36k miles!!since i purchased this vehicle i have had the a/c compressor replaces, all heater hosses replaced, oil leaks, coolant leaks, drive belts replaced and the alternator replaced.my car literally broke down in my driveway.i was returning from vacation with my son, my dog and my cat-if my trip would have 15 mins. Longer i would have broke down on the side of the road.nissan does not stand behind their products at all and does not care about the consumer or their safety!!

My car has been diagnosed with a faulty crank and cam sensors, catalytic converter as well.today i took car into shop because it has been burning excessive amounts of oil.i have to put as much as 4 quarts of oil into car a week.i called nissan and they indicate that their are recalls for this problem but my car is not one of the vins recalled.

2003 nissan altima2.5,crank position sensor, stalling all the time, trouble starting, also car using alot of oil ,alot of run around by nissan dealership continuous problems never has been solved or fixed. Very upsetting that nissan has over looked all the complaints that they have had since 2002.

2006 nissan titan exhaust manifolds cracked again. Fixed at dealer at 62,837, replaced both exhaust manifolds with new ones. Now at 118023 manifolds are cracked again, out of warranty and dealer will not replace. This is not a cheap repair somewhere around $2900 to fix both. I have heard many other complaints about this and had i known previously i would not have purchased this vehicle. Nissan replaced the faulty manifolds with the same new faulty manifolds.

Throttle on car goes out unexpectedly.engine is still powered on, however acceleration is not possible.

Documentation will follow up at home.faulty crankshaft sensor shutting down car every 3 minutes on 2003 nissan sentra - could have been horrible result as we were headed to interstate to return to ok....dealership has been great in lee summit, mo....nissan corporation consumer service in phillipines has been awful......we are getting on the road tomorrow 10/06/2009 if car fails and we are in major accident want it known that i've spoken with nissan and let my son know....nissan america has been terrible to deal with...the file # is 6622003.

2002 nissan altima catalytic converter failures that are increasing according to reports widely publicized on the internet.there is a recall in canada for the problem, but not in us.in speaking with a representative from nissan consumer affairs, i have been advised that the reason for the recall being recognized in canada but not in the u.s. Is due to the factory in which vehicles were produced.seems to me this reason is ridiculous if this problem is happening in the u.s. Too!see info below:transport canada recall number 2003060. Units affected: 30589. 2002-2003: on certain vehicles equipped with the 2.5 liter engine, the exhaust pipe hanger pin may catch debris from the road which could be ignited by contact with the main catalyst. Correction: dealer will remove the protruding portion of the exhaust pipe hanger pin. Also, certain operating conditions may cause the pre-catalyst to overheat and damage the catalyst substrate. If substrate particles enter the combustion chamber, they may score the cylinder walls, resulting in increased oil consumption. Correction: dealer will reprogram the engine control unit to prevent the possibility of the pre-catalyst overheating. If the conversion efficiency of the pre-catalyst has deteriorated, then the catalyst will be replaced. The original pre-catalyst will then be inspected for evidence of damage to the catalyst substrate. If damage is present, the vehicle engine will be replaced. While i have been obsessive about ensuring my vehicle is serviced routinely, i have recently experienced engine failure which will result in having to replace my engine.i do not have the finances to just drop $2000 on a new engine! my case is currently in the hands of a regional specialist (file # 6149122), but i have not gotten the outcome of the review to date.i am respectfully requesting review of this problem.thank you.

In october of 2006, i had a problem thecraft shaft position sensor on my 2003 nissan altima 2.5 s. The dealership replaced the sensor at no cost. It is august 2008, and once again this code is coming up. I was just informed that there is a recall on this part for all 2002 and 2003 nissan altimas.

Recently (07/10/10) my car just made a loud knocking noise blew a big smoke on the highway at 65mph--the fire men and police that showed up believe it threw a rod because it leaked oil everywhere, had the oil changed exactly 5 days prior.

I have a 2007 nissan altima.i bought it used from a dealership in houston, tx on 12/10/2008.i drove it all of 2009 and turned the air conditioner on in march, 2010 and the air compressor is out.this car only has 70,000 miles on it and the compressor has gone out.the compressor should not have gone out with only 70,000 miles on the car.

Well i have 2002 nissan altima 2.5 i have about 66,000 miles on the car and it has been having the same problem . It first started when they had recall oxygen sensor. I have had to replace the same sensor 3 times already at about cost of $350 each time . Now my check engine light keeps coming on the replaced the catalytic converter and told me i had to change my engine coils and spark plugs for about $1000 dollars . After that was completed there was no change my check engine light still comes on engine idles rough always having to fill coolant . And have had to been towed several time to the dealer with no explanation as to what is wrong.

Same day of purchase service engine light came on. Upon exam from nissan mechanic, idle air control motor and ecm are destoyed and need replaced at the cost of approx $2000.

This morning the car was warming up in front of our house ; it exploded and burned down; the front is completely melted; we were lucky not to have entered the car yet - fire department was called and managed to extinguish the fire before it reached the tank - other wise we would all be dead and our house gone.

This complaint has to do with the failure of the oil stick for the 2001 nissan sentra.i have owned the car for less than four years and have had two different oil sticks break in that time.the first time the oil stick was broken it was easily removed from the stem it rests in. On the latest break it has become lodged inside the stem.from what i can gather the standard fee most mechanics and dealerships range from $120.00 to $300.00 for the removal of the oil stick.the problem with the design of the stick is that it has a completely plastic handle that extends for a ways before joining with the metal stick.on both occasions the stick breaks well above where it joins with the metal component therefore making it impossible to remove with a magnet.this same problem has been documented numerous times online and i see it as a problem that nissan continues to sell this oil stick.from one online forum alone i came across over 60 reports of this happening with a nissan oil stick and almost all of them referred to either a 2000 or 2001 sentra.

We have 2005 nissan altima with the 2.5 motor, cars engine light came on and we took it to our mechanic and he said it was the crankshaft sensor, and told me about the recall. I took my car to the nearest nissan dealer, and all they told me there was a recall on the ecm, and that was all., nothing about the crankshaft sensor. I told them about it and they said my car was not under that recall. How can that be when there is a recall for that year, that model, and that motor. I even called a nissan rep; and he told me the same thing. I had to had to have my car that weekend so i took it back to my mechanic and he replaced the sensor and we haven't had any problems since. I think i got '!@#$% by nissan.

Nissan murano 96" began leaking engine oil, went in to fix under a nissan warranty. Leak was not fixed and the power steering began to leak. Service manager at dealership, autobarn nissan, don mekoola told me these engines begin leaking at this point and the dealership would not even offer enough on a trade to wholesale the murano. That tells you all you need to know. Nissan usa will do nothing and the dealer will do nothing. I had no idea the car was this bad a shape and continued driving it. Now i follow don's advice and top off both engine oil and power steering fluid every week. Not the best answer, but i have no choice.

Vehicle stalling while in motion usually while slowing to stop or when accelerating after being stopped. Ses light came on today when it stalled and i took it straight to dealership. They stated it was crank and cam sensors. They replaced them and charged me $260. Had to have engine replaced at 19,xxx miles under a recall. Car has 58,7xx miles now and this time i had to pay. Go online and find in excess of 160 consumer reports of this very cam and crank problem and everyone having to pay out of pocket for it when it is clearly a defect especially being that my engine was replaced so the defect is not just in the original engines. Service dept. Made no mention of there being a recall to me but being that i never got the recall notice when i had to have the engine replaced at 19,xxx(and i bought my car new and remained at same residence) i decided to just check online to see if others were having cam and crank problems. Comes a no surprise to see that others are having the same issues. I am mute therefore can't call you guys so i am filing my complaint online. Please note that i entered phone numbers only because i could not advance without doing so. Please send any and all replies via e-mail if speaking to someone who can represent me is an issue.

Nissan altima gle 2001 required the intake manifold gasket replacement on 10/11/03 under warranty because the car idled very high whenat a stop light. The same problem has recurred.when consulting carcomplaint.com there are over 80 of the same complaints.my daughter had the same problem and did not report it.she had it repaired without warranty coverage.i suggest that you go to www.carcomplaint.com/nissan/altima/2001 and read the complaints.i am sure this defect is not limited to the 2001 altima.

In august 2007, my 2003 nissan altima began to hesitate while driving. The check engine light came on. The light remained on for a few days and the car continued to hesitate while driving. It stalled at a traffic light in the middle of washington, d.c., so i took it to the shop once i got it started. On aug. 7, 2007, the dealer replaced the crank position sensor.on may 29, 2008, my car needed new brakes. A 100-point inspection was performed, and no other problems were found.about a week later, the check engine light came on. But dealer said it would likely go off and it wasn't a problem. A couple of weeks later, the car began to hesitate while driving (jumping, etc.) on july 23, the car again stalled while at a stop light at rush hour in washington, d.c. After several tries, the car restarted. On july 24, 2008, the dealer again said that the crank position sensor that needed to be replaced. I asked about recall number 06v242000, but dealer said that did not apply to crank, only ecm. Now have spent $600 to have same problem fixed in 10 months.

I own a 2002 nissan altima , i have to put a quart of oil in this car every 50 miles, from wha t i have found on the internet this is a very common problem , that nissan knows about and refuses to admit to the public this is a defect in the motor, that the recall will cost the company to much in repairs.we are a family on a fixed income and can't afford the $6000.00for repairs on this car.nissan asks so much for these cars they should stand behind their products and repair this defect!!!!

I have a 2003 nissan altima 2.5 sl, in approximately 2008 february, my car stopped on me while driving on the freeway.it turns out that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. Had the work done at buena park nissan then i realized that the car had also starting burning excessive oil.i was told there was an oil pan leak, had that work done at another dealership. Approximately 9 months later, the car stopped again, had the car diagnosed at the nissan dealer ship in antioch, ca, was advised that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced, again.at this point, i was frustrated with the car and i contacted nissan of north american, and the dealership in buena park who both denied me any help.i was given a reference number of 6594593 when i called for a solution in 2009.now, 8/2010, i am having acceleration issues again, my check engine light is on, my antifreeze is evaporation along with the engine oil every 300 miles.i called nissan north america again today and spoke with lisa byrne at extension 41661 who told me there was nothing nissan would do at this point because my previous claim had already been denied.i am replacing oil on a weekly basis as well as the antifreeze.i called nissan again today, ref # [xxx].i asked her who could i contact other than theregional office and she stated no one and that there was nothing nissan was going to do to right my situation.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

Nissan unsafe failure parts transmission and radiators hi my name is [xxx] my story begins as a happy one, but soon turns out to be my worst nightmare back in november 2007. I bought my first car a 2007 nissan xterra from avondale nissan brand new which is now paid off. It was a very nice vehicle, had really small issues with normal wear and tear and normal maintenance which i kept up on myself. Right now i'm attending asu for premed and i need my vehicle to get to school. The issue started when i was driving on the highway, all of sudden i heard a noise and the back end shuddered as if i was driving over rumble strips. I took it in on my next oil change to discover that the transmission fluid had leaked into the coolant, then i had the radiator replaced, then a couple months later my engine light came on and the same issue which i was previously having with the my transmission fluid leaking into the coolant began again. In addition to that incident, i was told from numerous dealerships including nissan that the radiator was damaged and now the transmission was also damage.i then started googling the problem and to my surprise to find out that so many other nissan owners were experiencing the same problem. This horrified me when i went to the dealership where i purchased it new in 2007.the service advisorin the service department told me this is a terrible problem because nissan is aware of this horrible design flaw on nissan's part and they're not doing anything to help their customers, he said that nissan is not going to do a recall at all its just a defect. He also stated that to fix the transmission and get another radiator would cost $500 for the radiator and $5155 for transmission not including tax or labor. I will never in my life ever buy a nissan again nor would i recommend someone to purchase it! i'm not getting any answers from them they are fully aware of this unsafe defect. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My nissan altima has gone through 2 catalytic converts and is burning 2 quarts of oil every 100 miles.

My 2004 nissan altima is stalling at red lights and while i am driving.this could cause and accident since it happens without warning.i have taken the car in to the nissan dealership numerous times for repair.this problem did not occur with my car until the recall work for the ecm reprogramming was done.but, it has been happening since then.sometimes multiple times per week.i have paid to have the problem correct more than once, and nothing that has been done has stopped this problem.this is definitely a safety hazard.

My 2002 nissan altima's check engine light came on.the car started running sluggish, and totally ran out of oil!mechanic said i needed a new engine.i bought one - and that one went on the fritz two days after fixing it.the diagnostics test said it was an o2 sensor.it ran out of oil.now i find out the car is a lemon, after i bought a new engine to boot.two engines are ruined in this car, and i still don't have it paid for.

Power valve screws fell into the intake manifold plate on 2002 nissan altima2002 nissian altima 2.5 stalled on the highway. Car had been idling very rough and engine vibration as well as intermittent power loss 24 hours prior to issue. Took it to two independent mechanics. Both confirmed that the pvc value screw fell intake manifold. This was also confirmed by nissan.however it was only recalled on the 2004-2006 models.it just so happens that nissan had to replace my engine on my vehicle in 2004, therefore my car should be included in the recall but because my call is 02 nissan will not cover the problem. 2002 models need to be included in the recall.

2006 altima-sluggish performance-had to put 2 quarts of oilin car today-just had oil change two weeks ago.while driving up a slope car starts to jerks hard-pulled off road-cut the car off-took several tries before car would start.it has been doing this for the past two days...

While driving my2004 2.5 litre nissan altima on highway about 60 mph i felt an abrupt jerk like noise in the transmission, almost even like a misfire of some sort.all i know is that it was odd and did not seem right.immediately following, my "service engine soon" light illuminated and has stayed on.while my car did not stall or immediately shut down, it was hard to crank after shutting down.i had difficulty climbing hills as the car lacked the power and difficulty shifting down. In troubleshooting this problem, i immediately checked the gas cap.this did not solve my problem.i took it into the mechanic.he has had my car for two days.he found the problem to be the crankshaft sensor and he said it was difficult to get to for repair as well as having problems removing it.i have yet to receive a bill for this repair but with the labor involved to remove this sensor, it won't be cheap.why on earth are manufacturers putting parts into places that are difficult and costly to repair.not only that, but the average "joe" who likes to work on his own car, can't even do this one!now, the other ludicrous problem is that nissan appears to not have included the 2004 nissan 2.5 altima in the "recall" campaign for this faulty sensor.that spells a class action lawsuit and complaints to my attorney general and better business bureau.there is no way, that i or anyone having bought a 2004 nissan 2.5 altima should have to bear the burden of costs involved into this ongoing issue with the crankshaft sensors.

I had a head gasket problem and wire problem but i only had the car for 19 month in been in the shop more than i have had the car.

This is in regards to the exhaust manifolds. This is the second time i have had to replace them. The first time they were still under warranty. My 2004 armada was at 66k miles. The nissan deal that i took the vehicle too told me that nissan has problems with their manifolds. They corrected the issue, but almost exactly 66k miles later the manifolds have again cracked. Now i am outside of warranty and required to pay for a replacement that is clearly a defect in the nissan product. Manifolds should not be going bad after 66k miles.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)as stated in my last complaint with odi id number: 10327349,i have a 2003 nissan altima. The car is now in the repair shop the engine blown.... The car was burning excessive amounts of oil. However, i also stated that the check engine light was on, and would stay on. Although, while driving on the interstate an reaching the speed of 70mph the check engine light would begin to start blinking. I don't have $3,000.00 - $4,000.00 to have this repaired. I'm still making monthly payments. I don't know if there was a recall on my vehicle engine with vin: [xxx] . Furthermore, i need to know if this can be fixed/ repaired immediately by the nissan in canton, ms. The mileage presently on the vehicle is 155,100. I didn't purchase the car new, but used. I truly don't know what to do at this point. I've keep the car maintained, and then this happens. Please someone from odi contact me regarding this matter immediately.

2002 nissan altima faulty engine and catalytic converter.

Own a 2002 nissan altima; replaced catalytic converter 6/2005 @ 71k miles.it fell under federal emissions warranty.7/2008 service engine light on again and seem to be burning through oil.took into balise nissan - converter needs to be replaced again, needs more expensive tests to diagnose oil issue.googled 2002 nissan altima problems, consumer affairs website had post after post of owners with the same problem as i've had/having.ultimate fix, need to replace engine.one man replaced engine twice and car is still not correct.called nissan headquarters, the regional rep, catherine, who was extremely rude as though i was trying to accomplish something terrible, said she reviewed my complaint and there is nothing nissan will do because there are no recalls pending and the car is a 2002 and now has 126k on it and my warranty expired.i told her the initial problem happened while i was still under warranty and obviously that had to be a problem also because a well maintained vehicle, regardless of mileage should not burn through 2 catalytic converters in 6 years and also need a new engine.i also tried to bring her attention to the countless other owners with the same issue, she did not want to discuss it.there is an obvious problem with the vehicles...please help!!!!!

After 30-45 minutes of freeway driving (65-70 mph) gas fumes will enter into cabin of car.once car gets off freeway, fumes are more noticeable.if using heater or air conditioning, fumes will be much stronger.causing migraines and possible respiratory problems.have taken the car to be repaired by nissan dealership, but have spent over $2500 to have knock sensor and exhaust manifold replaced and still having same problem.

Engine failure at high speed on highway almost causing a severe accident.

I purchased a 02 altima 2.5 (automatic) on thursday, july 16, 2009. On friday, july 17, i had to take it to the mechanic because it was making a terrible sound coming from the engine. Upon arrival, it was found that the oil tank was bone dry. After adding 3 quarts of oil, the noise was gone. Throughout that day when driving i smelt something like exhaust or burning oil or something. I just thought oil was spilled on the engine and it was simply burning off. I put approx 30 miles on the car that day. On saturday, july 18, i put approx 20 miles on the car (same smell). On sunday, i noticed smoke coming out of my muffler when i would hit the gas. It would go away when i was at a steady pace but if i put gas in it, the smoke would come out. I took the car to a friend of mine and had him check the oil. To my surprise, there was not a lick of oil left in the tank... Where did it go????????? there was no sign of leaks underneath the car and no spot on my driveway. We went and purchased 3 more quarts of oil and added it to the car. When we checked the dip stick, the oil was pitch black. The car was also blowing black smoke. I am a single 27 year old mom, working and going to school. A nissan is what everyone told me to get.. Why??? i have just forked out every dime i had (7800.00) in savings to purchase this car so what was i to do now? on monday, july 20, i took it back to the mechanic which then told me the engine needed to be replaced. I then took it to another mechanic which verified the same thing. After 2 weeks a 05 model engine was put in the car and i picked it up on august 7. Shortly after being on the road, the check engine light came on and it was making a loud squeaky sound. After taking it back on august 18, they said it now needed a catalytic converter and they replaced a belt. On august 23, the car started going dead with no warning while driving; once i was on the interstate and thought i was going to die! it also acts as if it doesn't want to crank now.

Check engine light came on and upon diagnostics it says catalytic converter is defective however after replacing catalytic converter and sensor problem still persists.

2005 nissan titan with a known poor exhaust and emission control device leads to premature failure and requires replacement prior to or soon after warranty expires.exhaust manifolds include catalytic convertors and are mounted under stress which causes fracture and emission leaks at the maniflold, into the passenger compartment and not out of the exhaust.severely cracked manifolds can actually allow the engine to run with the tailpipe closed.

I was driving home from work about 07:30am ct.i was on the interstate and hear a very loud bang and hear glass.i thought someone hit me but didn't feel anything.looked in my mirrors, cars going by me and realized i was not hit.then i thought someone shot my car.i continued to hear glass but didn't understand where it was coming from.very shaken up not understanding what was happening.i pulled off on the next exit and found my sunroof had exploded.the glass flying out (hwy speed) caused damage to the paint on the roof and trunk of my car.i called nissan dealer who suggested i call corporate.corporate said to bring car to dealer.dealer checked vents said they were clear.service manager as well as a couple service people came out to talk to me and told me this is definately a nissan defect and the sunroof and paint would be covered.after a few days with no word i went to the dealer (they did give me a courtesy vehicle).when i went to check on my car the service manager said the sunroof was in.i again told him i need to know if all including paint is covered.i had opened a claim with my insurance before i called nissan and i did not close that claim until i know what was going on.nissan went ahead and put in the sunroof.told me again paint would be covered.twice they said it was done.twice refused because paint was not touched.nissan dealer then said that nissan will pay $1000 towards the $1230 sunroof and will not cover paint.called corporate back who sent to regional consumer affairs who denied any claim with my car.i had to pay the $230 and bring to autobody shop for paint repair.with another deductible.no car now for 3 weeks.

Front drivers seat mounting bracket has been replaced four times because it rocks when driving and/or stopping.this is an obvious dangerous situation that can very easily cause serious injury and/or death to the driver and possible other people in the vehicle in the event the drivers loses complete control if this seat bracket breaks.i just had it replaced again, and it has the exact same problem.nissan has obviously made a defective product and keeps installing the same defective type whena customer brings it back for repair.all dealers consider this a problem but, they also express there is nothing they can do if they keep getting defective replacement parts.. Ie: old stock.

I have a nissan murano. Ever since i purchased the car it is used, i have nothing but trouble with it. The place i got it from replaced the transmission and the new one is slipping everytime i drive it.

I just bought a nissian pathfinder and while i was going over it after i got it home i found out that the rear part of the frame from 2ft in front of the axle to the rear was mostly rusted out. I research other pathifnder in the area and most have had the same problem. I was just wondering if there was any recalls on the frame or it is just a coincidence. I box the frame in the rear to add support with 1/8in. Steel plates to secure the rear better it has held up so far.

Oxidized paint on entire hood; roof; part of hatchback

On tuesday, august 2, 2011, i was driving on a major expressway.while trying to exit from the expressway, the steering wheel on my 2009 nissan murano locked, making it impossible for me to turn it.i was almost hit by an 18-wheel semi-trailer truck. The incident resulted in black skid/tire marks on the side of the road by my car and the truck that was trying to avoid from hitting me.nissan's contracted towing service had to tow my vehicle into nissan's shop since the vehicle could not be driven safely after the incident. On august 3, the service advisor called to say that the problem with the steering wheel had been fixed. He indicated that the steering wheel would not turn because of a faulty serpentine belt.he said the serpentine belt was replaced, that they had test drove the vehicle before its release to me, and that the vehicle was now safe to drive.it should be noted that my nissan had previously been in nissan's shop barely a week before the august 2nd incident, on july 21st, for other defect issues which were covered by warranty.when the car was in the shop for the july repairs, the service representatives had indicated that they had done a full inspection of the vehicle.what is interesting to me is that during the full inspection, nissan did not discover anything wrong with the serpentine belt then. If the belt were wearing away, nissan should have been able to discover and disclose the wear and tear during the full inspection in late july. Even after the serpentine belt was replaced on august 3, 2011, the steering wheel is still difficult to steer. I'm not sure whether this is a manufacturing/design defect, but i think this should be looked into carefully since this is obviously a serious safety issue.if a driver is slowing down to get ready to turn but suddenly cannot turn because of a problem with the steering wheel, another vehicle traveling behind could easily hit the driver in front.this could result in a tragic accident.

2008 nissan altima 2.5- i have been to the dealership over 9 times with brake issues and had my master cylinder replaced once already in 2009 under warranty. My brake light has been turning on during acceleration and off when brake is applied. I brought it to the dealership today and was told the master cylinder has to be replaced again and the car is no longer under warranty and the work is not under warranty due to 12,000 mile agreement. Obviously, something is seriously wrong here. I'm on the 3rd master cylinder in 2 and 1/2 years. There needs to be a recall for this cylinder; many people are complaining of the same problem.

Airbag light on dash keep blinking in the off/on position. Turn the airbag off, then back on and it started blinking and keeps blinking while truck is running.

I have a 2004 nissan maxima se with 51039 miles and recently i noticed that the car jerking changing gears so i took it to the dealership to have it looked at and they advice me that i needed to have the motor mount replace, ac line is leaking need replacement and transmission flushed.i did all that and the problem still happens so i took it back to the dealership and this time they advice me that the transmission will need to be replace.they gave me a estimate of 4500 for the repair.after researching on this issue to see if the transmission replacement will fix the problem and i am a little worry that it might not.because i got the transmission replaced from the dealership and i drove it for no more then 3 miles and the problem came back.i took it back to the dealership to have to have it look at again.i think that if nissan does not look into this it will cause a major accident if the transmission fails or that sudden jerk will cause panic is the driver and cause the driven to step on the gas and hit someone in front of them.please please advice nissan for recall.

I have had 2 sets of chinese brake rotors installed on 2 different vehicles. They warp and cause an unsafe condition after 12 months or 10,000 miles. Research has shown this to be a common problem with low quality and non conforming chinese after market replacement parts. The warped rotors impair stopping distance at highway speeds. The warpege is caused by poor quality steel.

Fuel tank indicator does not indicate full tank after filling full; first occurrence in july 2007; second occurrence feb 2009; not under warranty second time.

At regular driving, brakes failed at 7500 miles (while driving approximately 47 mph on the 5 freeway southbound). Tustin nissan dealership found all 4 rotors warped and brakes defective. Replaced all rotors and all brakes.also defective: driver's side rear view mirror (replaced at 8000 miles), paint trim peeling (upon new vehicle delivery).

A recall notice of leaking valve stems on 2009 nissan cube was performed in 2010,now the problem has regenerated , still leaking valve stem, causing tire to lose pressure while driving, causing flat tires.

The problem started with the fuel sensors in the fuel lines in june 2006.the service engine light came on and when the dealership checked the problem it came back with the fuel system.over the course of6 months, i kept having to take it in for the same problem.in jan of 2007, the service center at the ann arbor, mi nissan dealership finally figured out the problem, $1,200.00 later.it was the fuel filler tube, rusted.the dealership ended up replaceing the fuel filler tube, purge volume control valve, the intake timing sensor.i was very disappointed with this whole situation.i don't live near there, so i had to spend a lot of time driving it to the dealership and a lot of wasted gas.

Back rear window regulators not functioning.

I own a 2003 nissan murano sl awd.the fuel tank shroud was installed in compliance with recall campaign 06v003000.the shroud is of such a bad design that it has broken in normal winter driving.the materials used are too weak and the design does not provide sufficient protection for the tank.overall, this design is terrible, and does not solve the requirement of protecting the fuel tank.nissan need to comeup with a better design that better conforms to the profile of the fuel tank--the current design protrudes down too far and is too easily damaged.

Nothing leading up to event.sunroof exploded out of nowhere.

I purchased a 2001 nissan pathfinder from a family member. The bose 6 cd changer comes up with an error message err2. I'm being told that this is a common problem with the vehicle: that nissan knows about but won't acknowledge. I'm trying to make you aware of this. Is there any recourse with nissan?

On 1/25/10, my 2002 altima with only 27,000 miles on it, kept stalling or not starting during 3 shopping stops. I thought it was my battery and was near clark auto where my battery is under warranty...

While driving approximately 25 mph, i applied pressure to the brake pedal and the brake pedal fell to the floor. We had no braking power at all. Iheard a grinding noise coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians stated they could not find a problem. The vehicle was not repaired.this has happened three times already and this is a real safety hazard!!!!! one of times it happened at 40 mph what if i cant stop the next time it happens who is going to be responsible for this.

2004 nissan maxima that sways while driving straight and shifts hard or skips out of gear between 2nd and 3rd gear. Only have 59,500 miles on car and front struts sway bar sub frame bushings need to be replaced along with struts and transmission.

The nissan titan 2007 has a front end brake problem . They wear out to the point that when you press the brake the front brakes chatter and it feel like you are going over rumble strips. They have been replaced by nissan three times in 32000 miles . They tried to charge us all three times but after threatening to call a tv station they relented and replaced them. A mechanic who felt sorry for us said this was a massive problem and nissan has not issued any orders to dealers. He indicated that the entire brake set up are to small for the very large titan truck. A look on the internet under complaints will bear out the size of the problem. Help help help!

Rental auto failed to stop. Went to floor on brake pedal and still did not stop. Hit parked car in driveway and fence at rental agency.

While driving my 2009 nissan murano approximately 60 mph on i-5 from portland, or to my home in washington the front part of my sunroof shattered for no apparent reason.there was an explosive sound before shards of glass rained down on the inside of my car.my sunroof was closed at the time but the shade part was open.some of the shards measured approximately 6 inches in length.it was a nice sunny day out and the approximate time of the incident was 6:00 pm.there were no overpasses in the vicinity where the incident occurred. I was not traveling near any dump trucks or other vehicles that was carrying any cargo.i could find no evidence of flying debris to cause the glass to shatter.i have contacted nissan dealership in my area and was quoted a price of $1,311.00 plus taxes to replace the shattered glass.fortunately,i was the only person in the vehicle at the time and was able to get over from the 2nd lane to the side of the road to deal with the large amounts of shattered glass that was found in both the front and back seats of my car.it was a very unnerving situation to be in and i did look to if see any other drivers in the area appeared to be effected by my sunroof shattering.i did not see evidence that any other drivers were effected by my sunroof shattering. I did take several photos of the shattered glass for my records.i have kept larger fragments of the shattered glass for evidentiary purposes because i will be sending a demand letter to nissan to cover the cost based on previous reports i have just now found out about.i don't feel my murano is safe to drive knowing that the sunroof may explode again for no apparent reason.my car is financed and i have 3 years left on the loan so i'm not able to trade it in for another vehicle at this time.i will be driving with the shade drawn on my sunroof so i don't have shards of glass raining down on me again.that defeats the purpose of having a sunroof but i must put safety first.

In 2008 i purchased a new 2008 nissan sentra. Following the purchase i have incurred numerous issues and safety hazards. The vehicle began jerking during acceleration 3 months after purchase, i informed dealership of issue and was informed that nothing was defective within the vehicle. 11 months following initial diagnose transmission was replaced 11 months after. The replacement transmission was covered under warranty. The gears shifted from 65 mph to 40 mph while traveling on major highway, 3 year old toddler was present. Shift in gears almost caused major accident. Following replacement of transmission, traveling on garden state parkway, car once again shifts gears and drops from 65 mph to 40 mph, once again almost causing major accident. This vehicle has had numerous recalls. Contacted nissan's consumer affairs, was told to return to original dealer and nothing else could be done. Due to safety hazards i have been without a vehicle and have had to rent a vehicle to transport to rutgers university where i attend full-time. My current issue with this vehicle places my life and well being in danger. I have contacted nissan consumer affairs and was informed to return the vehicle the original dealer. The original dealer has since sold the dealership to his son, and the new dealer refuses to assist me, statingthat the previous dealership and the new dealership have no affiliation with one another.

Rear axle seal leak on my 2007 nissan titan xe.differential oil on rear brakes caused major safety problem.

2002 nissan altima faulty engine and catalytic converter.

My 2004 nissan titan leaks profusely onto by emergency brakes.my emergency brakes do not work at all on a hill.the nissan mechanic has pointed this out to me while the truck was up on the rack.he stated that the left rear axle seal was and still leaking. I would have to replace the seal spacer and bearing, for a grand total of $171.00 for parts, and almost $200.00 for labor.this has happen repeatedly on all nissan titan trucks.there should be a recall on this item.owners should be compensated for their expenses on such a defective part.

My nissan altima 2002 is smoking my brakes have failed almost causing a wreck i have had to put brake pads on my car 4 times within a year my car has stopped in the middle of traffic and i don't know the reason why. I took my car to a nissan dealership and was told that i need a new catalytic converter a new engine and that was the problem for my car stopping in the middle of traffic the brakes have failed once. I was told by nissan of gadsden al.that i need to have over $13,000.00 worth of work on my car because it was a safety hazard . I called the nissan company and they would not do anything about it then they stop accepting my calls and said deal with it because they was not going to have any repairs made to my car. I paid cash for my carafter the first year i began to start having problems with it the dealer told me that nssan new about these problems and refused to do anything about it and they could workout something with me instead of paying $12,000.00 for the repairs that they would charge me $8,000.00 for the repairs i do not have any money to get my car fixed and nissan told me to deal with it. What can i do about this please help i paid $13,000.00 for a car that don't work please help me. Thank youshelia gaston

Transmission issues. After 65,000 miles 2005 nissan maxima jerks between low gears shifts and slips frequently during normal driving. A transmission flush has been done on this vehicle as recommended by nissan service staff however issues continue.

This vehicle has a faulty fuel gauge, gas tank, fuel pump...whatever! this is the 3rd gas tank and fuel pump for a 2005 model! the first time, after a few months of ownership, was covered by warranty. Now afterless than 3 yrs ownership, we have the same problem and we have to pay almost 600.00! out of warranty. This is extreme maintenance for the same problems/parts on a 3 yr old vehicle! nissan should pay for these parts.

2008 nissan rogue- both front door handles have completely failed and neither door can be opened from the outside. The only way to open the front doors is to climb in through the back doors and open from the inside.

I have a 2007 nissan altima sedan that had the rear sway bar snapped in two.the nissan dealership had mentioned that it is not a manufacturing defect, but upon an independent inspection by a 3rd party mechanic, there was no apparent damage to the area surround the area where the sway bar snapped.also, the mechanic mentioned that the sway bar was manufactured as a hollow tube and therefore may not be able to support the tension.the sway bar snapped in the connection point where it was mounted on the chassis of the vehicle.i also have read about other owners of the same vehicle which have encountered the same problem.please see here.... Http://wiki.answers.com/q/why_did_the_2007_nissan_altima_rear_sway_bar_break.

This car has a serious safety flaw in that it hesitates from an idling stop.when you press on the gas while sitting with the engine idling the car will just sit there and then lurch forward suddenly.i first had this problem with the vehicle in 2005 or thereabouts, took it to the dealer (wilde nissan waukesha wi) who contended they could find nothing wrong with the car.this was/is a very intermittent problem which comes and goes without warning, you never know when it will happen.i subsequently took the vehicle back to the dealer several times and got the same story.eventually the dealership changed hands and the new owner (boucher nissan waukesha wi, same address and location as original dealership) was diligent about researching and finding the problem.it was diagnosed as a "valve body problem" by the boucher folks.nissan refused to honor repair claims and costs which were estimated to be around $1500 because the vehicle was "out of warranty" at the time boucher identified the defective condition.i firmly believe that nissan should have honored repair costs as this is a serious safety flaw in this vehicle which could result in a crash or serious injury if not death of driver.nissan has taken a very negligent and non caring consumer response position on this matter.the nhtsa should take nissan to task to repair this serious safety defect in this vehicle before someone is seriously injured or killed because of the defective condition.

Have had my carin several times for the same complaints. As of yet nissan has been unable to repair the car correctly. Nissan has replaced my master cylinder and, according to them the brake booster several times. My car continues to behave the same way it has. It has a noise from the brake pedal that is like a creaking noise.also, when at a stop with the brakes applied and continuous pressure applied, it feels as if the pedal loses pressure, requiring increased force to maintain they stop.when tested it was on a flat surface with normally maintained blacktop. This is been going on for several months now.

While driving my car at extremely slow speeds my car completely turned itself off and was unable to start back up for 15 minutes.during this time there was no power to the entire car, thus resulting in having to unlock my door manually and crawl through the back to get my son out.2 months later my car started losing all power when i stopped, once again resulting in having to manually unlock my car and unable to lock the doors behind me.

Airbag failure x2 on front end crash with significant damage & disabling injuries in 2004 & again in 2006 i have made complaints on same & was told no other like complaints on any 99 nissans.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)vin [xxx] 2006 muranosun visor driver side has been hanging, won't stay up or down.also, the driver seat is rocking while driving because it's tiltedon the left side.

I own a 1994 nissan altima.in december 2006, the driver's side sunvisor malfunctioned and dropped down blocking the driver's view of the road.fortunately, this did not cause an accident.on dec 21, 2006, the malfunctioning sunvisor was replaced at the owners expense ($113.65).around august 2008, the replacement sunvisor fell out of it's holder and bracket into the driver's lap while driving.the owner fixed it so it would not fall out again.however, in oct 2008, the replacement sunvisor would no longer stay up.again it swung down into the view of the driver while driving.again, it was fortunate that this did not cause an accident.this is definitely a safety issue and based on on-line posts it is a common theme among nissan vehicles.i contacted the local nissan service department for a replacement and they would not replace it or give me a discount since it was purchased over 12 months ago.next week, i will file a complaint with nissan corporate offices.however, based on their lack of response to other issues with this vehicle, i do not expect them to resolve it to my satisfaction.

I have a 1995 nissan quest . The passenger side lap safety belt first went out of order (the belt stuck and couldn't be extended) in 2004. The safety belt has a life time warranty. It was replaced at a nissan dealership on 8/17/04.the first replacement lasted about one year. The belt malfunctioned again and on 8/19/2005, it was replaced. This and subsequent replacements malfunctioned and were replaced on 11/9/2006, 1/17/2007, and 7/25/2008.i called nissan consumer affairs (800-647-7261) a couple times. One time a service rep refused to let me to talk to her manager. I sent a letter to nissan corp. With one of the consumer surveys which nissan always sends after warranty work and complained about the quality of the replacement safety belts.i never heard from them. Shortly after new year 2009, the same beltbroke again. This is the 6th inferior 'safety belt'.every time i have had to get the belt replaced, i had to miss a half day work. It seems to me the quality of the replacement belts is inferior to the quality of the original safety belts.none of the other safety belts in the car have had this problem.is there a chance i could get a better quality belt?

I have a 2002 nissan altima, i have an error message on my 6 disc cd changer. It is err3. I cannot load or eject any cd's. This is ridiculous. I am not paying to have this fixed. Nissan should cover, or bose. Thank you.

2005 nissan murano door locks fail to lock and unlock. I have a 2005 murano and the door locks recently have stopped working. The lock will not lock or unlock with the remote or with the door lock button on driver or passenger door. This is even a bigger problem having a 2 year old in the vehicle and the only way to unlock the door is manually. Since there is no key hole on the rear doors you have to climb through the vehicle to lock the door. I can't even lock the door if she manually moves the lock with her hand i can't lock it from the driver side control.the problem started with the driver lock, then progressed to the rear right door, now three of the 4 doors are affected and also the rear hatch. It is not an option to open if you can't use the unlock button. There is no manual release button to unlock the hatch. This can a public problem for ever attempting to get a child out of a car in the case of any emergency.

My titan, as i'm driving hesitates, or momentarily cuts response, and my engine stalls and turns off, i have since then found out that my ipdm was the responsible component for such stalls.....it happens twice a day at ungiven times, i replaced the ipdm and have had no problems.

The driver's seat has broken twice under warranty and repaired.now it had broken a third time out of warranty for the exact same issue.tsb's have been issued and now a new part number has been listed, which really combines the two previous fix part numbers.extremely unsafe!god help most nissan murano people if they get in an accident with a broken seat.

2006 altima-sluggish performance-had to put 2 quarts of oilin car today-just had oil change two weeks ago.while driving up a slope car starts to jerks hard-pulled off road-cut the car off-took several tries before car would start.it has been doing this for the past two days...

My boyfriend was driving my car on the i-10 when he suddenly heard a loud crack and the seat was suddenly lopsided. I therefore brought the car into my local nissan dealership to see about having it repaired and if my warranty would cover it. I was informed that parts and labor would cost $846, i also had to pay the $90 whether or not i was going to have it repaired.i contacted my warranty company and was told that after careful consideration they would not cover it because it happened after the 36000 mile.my car had roughly 60k miles at the time of the occurrence.i now have to ride with two large phone books under my seat in order to drive. I asked that a supervisor contact me and no one ever did. I now have 72k miles and would like to see about repairing this before it hits 100k. I am not quite sure of the date but i do know that it was sometime in january.

Normal bumps in road cause driver's side sun visor to drop and obstruct the driver's vision.part appears to be un-available and/or way over priced for something that should not fail within the first seveal years of operation.typical sun visors are priced from $50 to $200.nissan want over $350.00 for one.

I leased a 2005 nissan maxima and fell in love with the car so much that i purchased the car when the lease was up.shortly thereafter, i began smelling burned oil.i also noticed the car began to jerk really hard going from park to drive and going from drive to reverse.i took it to the dealership and they informed me that the transmission was going bad and they were going to replace it.the car had approximately 44k miles on it at this point.the dealership replaced the transmission with a remanufactured one.the car was fined but seemed not to have the same power.anyhow, three months in to having the remanufactured transmission i noticed the car would not go into the driving gear.the car would only move in reverse.the car only has 46,524 miles on it.*tw

Nissan has a recall on old model of pathfinder on fuel filler tube, but nissan only willing to replace the fuel filler tube for "states that regularly use road salt in the winter", for whatever reason nebraska is not listed as one of the states.nissan should care more about the safety of their customers and replace the fuel filler tube for their nebraska customers.

I have a 2005 nissan titan. On thanksgiving evening my family and i were driving home on a major highway when all of a sudden i heard a clunk and lost acceleration. I was in the middle of the highway and had to cross 3 lanes to try and get over to the shoulder. We nearly got hit by many passing cars due to the immediate loss of power and slowing of my truck. After finally towing the truck to the shop i found out that, for the second time, the rear differential went out. The first time was at 75000 miles and the second at 125000 miles. Both times i am stuck footing the bill. Needless to say my only mode of transportation is still sitting broken until i am able to pay the 3500 dollars to get it fixed.

The windshield wipers quit working.

Sunvisor falls down creating blind hazard.

Alternator failure 2003 nissan murano almost cause a accident.

I have a 2007 nissan xterra the fuel gage whent haywire. I took it to a nissan dealer and they told me it would be $600 to repair. This is bull seems a lot of xterras are having the same problem and nissan will do nothing about it. There should be a recall.

I had a head gasket problem and wire problem but i only had the car for 19 month in been in the shop more than i have had the car.

Thanks

This morning the car was warming up in front of our house ; it exploded and burned down; the front is completely melted; we were lucky not to have entered the car yet - fire department was called and managed to extinguish the fire before it reached the tank - other wise we would all be dead and our house gone.

On 1/25/10, my 2002 altima with only 27,000 miles on it, kept stalling or not starting during 3 shopping stops. I thought it was my battery and was near clark auto where my battery is under warranty...

The fuel cap cover is power driven, it would not open, the cost to replace the relay and actuator with parts and labor was $305.00 at the dealership.you can not get into the gas tank and the new models have a button on the console to open the cover manually.my model has no options to open, no gas, no move.my car has 32,000 miles.

Bought 2005 nissan murano 8-08, had electrical problems 1st week replaced battery, 2nd week ,labor day weekend alternator failed, had replaced under warranty. Took 2 and a half to 3weeks in shop . 3 weeks later the replacement alternator failed also.

Have had crash, and many recalls on my vechile. To many i think!!!!

Over the past 3 years, i've had my 2002 nissan sentra ser spec v into nissan 15 times for service. They have yet to fix it. Every 1-7 months i have to bring it back. The car has shut off and stalled on me in traffic, which is very dangerous. The ecm has been replaced twice ' many others have reported problems with the ecm online ' i believe it is bad, as well as other parts, and nissan needs to issuerecalls on this car.problem # / date / problem / solution#1 1/31/08/service engine soon (ses) light/recall r0712 ' reprogram ecm (update of the software).evap leak (#1),resecure fuel cap#2 8/23/08/ses/idle air control reset (#1): performed idle air relearn, reset ecm set idle, adjust idle control valve. $165#3 1/9/09/car won't start/codes p0605, po183, p2128, p1229, p0122.replace ecm unit (#1) due to pulling too many codes // main harness pin test, repair fuel pump wire in main harness, $449.00#4 1/28/09/ses / code p0455 evap gross leak (#2).repair fuel lines, replace "o" ring,$302.00.#5 6/6/09/ses, stalls on highway / code p1456 evap very small leak (#3), recurred gas cap.#6 7/12/09/ses, no power / code po233, replace throttle chamber (#1)#7 7/21/09/ses/code p1456 evap small leak (#4), replaced vent control valve#8 7/28/09/car shuts off in traffic / performed air idle learn (#2)#9 12/2/09/car shifting hard / santa monica nissan determines there is no communication between the sensor and the ecm (computer), which means it's an electrical problem, and they want to do a pin test for $575#10 12/7/09/ses/replaced throttle assembly (#2)#11 12/24/09/ses/replace radiator#12 4/24/10/ses/diagnostics showed tp sensor, performed idle control learn volume (#3)#13 5/12/10/ses, car stalls / replace throttle body sensor (#3)#14 11/6/10/ses/repaired ground wire at ecm#15 11/16/10/car shuts off in traffic / replace ecm, charge $111.50 for car rentali have a document with more info and receipts i can email, fax or send to you.

Fuel tank indicator does not indicate full tank after filling full; first occurrence in july 2007; second occurrence feb 2009; not under warranty second time.

Check engine light came on and upon diagnostics it says catalytic converter is defective however after replacing catalytic converter and sensor problem still persists.

Pedals on my 2007 nissan murano are moving on their on accord. Appears to be defective wiring. Dealer wants me to pay $315 to fix. They had agreed two years ago to fix the problem when i purchased the vehicle and they never did.this is a serious safety issue.

Many times when driving on interstates at night, i see newer model vehicles driving obliviously with only their daytime running lights / led lights on. There are no tail lights on at all, and this is extremely dangerous. I've seen this is a particular problem with nissan models, such as the nissan rogue and infiniti q30. The driver does not realize that their lights are off, as the dash cluster is fully illuminated despite the headlights being "off". My own volkswagen passat does not have this problem - if the headlights are "off", the dash cluster is dark, therefore it is obvious to the driver that the headlights need to be turned on. I've also seen this affecting other cars such as the toyota prius and ford mustang, but the nissans are by far the most frequent. Once i told someone in a parking lot that her tail lights were off and she had no idea - she was under the impression they were automatic despite being switched "off" because there was illumination ahead of the vehicle, and the dash cluster was illuminated. I hope that nhsta will take this concern seriously as i am sure this design flaw is responsible for a number of accidents. Thank you.

I paid $711.47 for gardena nissan to repair my car. They fixed the harness-sub and switch assy-stop. In less than a week i get stranded again and had to get my car towed back to the dealer. And this time they charged me $825.35 for steering lock. It's so unfair that i had to pay more when they should had fixed all the issues since the first time...and what a coincidence the warranty had expired for that problrem. What a scam!!!

I find it hard to believe that the dot allows headlights to be produced that become cloudy, yellow, and hazed after a couple of years. When the headlights are like this it makes it very difficult to see at night.

2007 nissan maxima abs activates with normal braking. There was a service bulletin ntb07-016b for this problem which is clearly a design defect from nissan. As i was driving and catching speed i noticed my car slipped into a lower gear i would hear abs engaging and if i steppedon the brake pedal abs would be activated. Took it to the dealer even though i have no warranty they told me it would cost me $1,200 to replace the bearings and the sensors as they were corroded due to water and dirt trapped where the sensors rest. The service bulletin clearly states that a piece has to be grinded off on knuckle in order to allow proper drainage of water and dirt. This is a safety concern and a very expensive repair to be done coming out of consumers pockets due to the obvious design defect from nissan. They should be held responsible for this ongoing defect and a recall should be mandated to correct this potential hazard while driving.

Backup camera image not clear, 7" screen (with navigation- 2015 nissan altima 2.5 sl) is not clear enough to safely see what is behind the car.the camera and head unit (display, stereo) have both been replaced - no change. My guess is that the resolution is not matched to the display size, as the image in the 5" (non nav) is ok; and there are no settings to change.

Same day of purchase service engine light came on. Upon exam from nissan mechanic, idle air control motor and ecm are destoyed and need replaced at the cost of approx $2000.

I purchase a nissan altima 2007 & in 2013 i had to change the vehicle cvt transmission. It sucks as the vehicle just stop working. I had to pay all the expenses out of pocket. I read so many other consumers with the same problem. This needs to be rectified as nissan company can not get away with this.

Nissan xterra 2005 first the car dies on the road and would not start. I took it into a shop and they replaced the ipdm, latter that day i put fuel in the can and the fuel gage did not work and the check engine light came on.

Make - 2005 nissanmodel muranocomponent * door lock* component -- part or system of concern - stopped working about 5 months ago.

I have a 2002 nissan altima, i have an error message on my 6 disc cd changer. It is err3. I cannot load or eject any cd's. This is ridiculous. I am not paying to have this fixed. Nissan should cover, or bose. Thank you.

Nissan has a huge transmission problem. It seems to be a serious and common problem with 2005 nissan maxima cars! my maxima was jerking between 1st 2nd and 3rd gears, rpms reaching 4 during shifting, hard jerks in down shifting; a 5 sec pause when putting the car into reverse or drive, i also heard grinding noise when shifting. This occurred on a daily bases.i had to pay $3,500 for a rebuilt trans. Nissan headquarters refuse to; look at my car...at that time i only had 95,000 miles nissan said my warranty expired. Nissan told me i wasn't a true customer because i wasn't getting my oil changed by them on a regular basis. (i paid my car off in full in 2005 how devoted is that) nissan needs to take responsiblity for this faulty transmission. I will never ever buy another nissan again. On top of all that my abs system is completely gone it's too much to repair.

Nissan rouge 2010 - it has only been 5 months since i bought a brand new rogue 2010 from victory nissan chesapeake. I received a recall card from them regarding a throttle noise. I took my car for change oil and the nissan service did a reprogram to eliminate the noise. The noise had lessened. Thinking that it is a brand new car, i did an observation and waited for my second change oil and complained about the noise in my car again and the brake that felt like it's losing a thread when you step on it. After my change oil, i was told that my transmission needs to be replaced. However, the dealer has to order it and will call me back in 2-3 days. A week had passed and i did not receive a call. I called nissan usa to complain about the service and i have been driving this car knowing that there is a problem and have complained about the break and the transmission. I called back again and the service agent just told me that the transmission is not yet in. I was driving in the rain when the accelerator just kept going even if i was not pressing on it. I was concerned and took the car back to the dealer and was given a rental car. I bought a fully loaded car but was given a lemon car. I could've been dead by now if i am still driving that car for who knows what will happen next if the accelerator and brake will not be controlled. I kept calling nissan but i did not receive any response. One of the sales in the dealer told me that this was the 3rd rogue 2010 transmission problem that was reported in the same place. A very unsat costumer service and dealer services by letting an unsafe car to be on the road!

Vehicle sways from left to right at speeds about 50 mph - swaying starts in rear end - replaced all shocks (rear) struts (front) - tires are fairly new have been rotated - concerned may lose control - this has been going on since 2007 - the above are recommendation of repair facilities.

Failure with 2009 nissan murano transfer case after 60,000 miles seems to be a big problem and nissan is not taking responsibility , causing the customer thousands of dollars for repairs, seems that their is a defect , where you hear a humming noise coming from your front passenger side tire and no check engine light to alert you some thing is wrong until you shows up at a dealer ship to check out the noise and get bang for $3000, this a con game nissan is using to ripoff hard american working people, this con game need to be investigated, since their are so many complaints from murano owners about this existing problem .

Throttle on car goes out unexpectedly.engine is still powered on, however acceleration is not possible.

My 2004 nissan maxima 3.5sl has a unreliable response from the passenger power door lock. It only lock and unlock partially, which i believe it is a critical safety issue and somewhat disappointing to see on a brand car like maxima.

I have a 2004 nissan maxima se 45,000 roughly that was purchased used in 2007. Several months later after driving the car the transmission would jerk as if someone hit me from behind. The force was so unbearable that it was if someone hit me and i felt like i had whiplash. I had the transmission fluid replace but the problem only got worst. Then jan 2008 nissan agreed to.

The events leading up to the failure was squealing brakes, shaking steering wheels, loud noises on the brake, and rough ride when brakes are press slightly. Car does not brake properly when pressed lightly under dry weather and tends to lock temporarily and let go during wet weather which can really lead to an accident. Nissan consumer affairs was called about the problem i was informed to take my car to the dealership, which i did, dealership tells me i'm out of warranty, i called nissan consumer affairs back because this is a manufacturer defect and not something caused by me but nissan will not admit to it.

When the weather gets very cold the brakes on my altima 3.5 will seem to lock up and not want to let me brake. Feels as if someone has stuck a brick under the pedal. I have heard many many complaints and people that have had the same problem. I would do something about this asap. I've replaced the part already for this. For the 3.5part number is 47430-8j100. The 2.5 is 8j000.

I own a 2005 nissan titan that has had the rear end diff and axle replaced twice by nissan at 98,000 miles nissan discoveredthe rear seals leaking, and did nothing about it, i tried to secure a lawyer, the cost was astronomical, at 102,000 miles the valve body in the trans has failed, as a result i contacted nissan north america spoke to gordon middleton, whom on behalf of nna after a sixweek discovery advised me that nna would not be able to assist me, even after promising repairing the rear seal in earlier conversation, later refused to lift a hand, costing me six weeks of car rental cost, and the agonizing pain of waiting on a decision that would never come anyway. Please assist me in this matter my 2005 nissan titan le is still not fixed.

2006 nissan murano.drivers side sunvisor will not stay in the "up" position.visor is very stiff trying to push up, and continually stays in the "down" position.

2004 nissan maxima has a transmission problem.it slips, jerk, and stalls sometimes.

Nissan armada (2007) fuel indicator malfunctions and subsequently causes the vehicle to run out of fuel.

I have a 2004 nissan maxima 3.5 sl that i purchased brand new in sept 2004.started having problems with the transmission at 40,000 miles and had to replace the transmission under warranty at 42,000 miles. We are at almost 80,000 miles and i have been having problems with the transmission for over 20,000 miles now. Jerks hard shifting between 1st and 2nd gear. Jerks hard when braking and sometimes i even feel as if someone rear-ended me from the loud bang i feel.love this car, but the transmission problem is on going.taking it to the dealer next week to see what can be done. This car definitely needs a recall for its transmission.

S & l auto services & towing replaced 2 u-joints on a 1986 kin cab nissan truck i bought from a freind. The bolts on the front yoke of the rear drive shaft were not touqued properly, the result was almost an end over end flip over of the truck when it came undone. I spoke to the so-called owner of s & l and he ask me to leave the property "now", no sorry or go to %$#@. I just want the rest of the people in the upstate area to know about there bad workminship andthe lack of customer service at s & l auto services & towing. I would not let them work on a bike, or a kids toy never mind auto repairs.

Make: nissanmodel: titan 2006 lecomponent: exhaust manifoldi was made aware that my exhaust manifold was cracked and it needed to be replaced. Looking online, other users have had this issue and nissan needs to replace this part as it is a safety issue as exhaust fumes are leaking into the cab and i have a baby. The cost to fix this issue would be almost $2000.00 with parts and labor for a manufacturer defect.

Prematurely failing inner rear axle seals causing gear oil from diff to get into rear brake calipers and rotor causing increased braking distance.been replaced once on left and twice on right.

Defective fuel tank sending unit failure occurs every day fuel gauge would have false readings having either no gasnor accuratereadings of fuel could cause engine stalltherefore a crash. Since bought the car/truck even when there was a recall on it and after replaced several times still w problem not being able to correct the problem.

2010 nissan murano sl/le grinding noise coming from opening and closing sunroof.took to mechanic for inspection.removed head liner and concluded the cable is binding. To repair this problem since the cable is not a replacement part i was told would have to replace the track assembly.this is approximately a $4000.00 part plus tax and labor. Doesn't make sense to me that living in chicago and only being able to open sunroof maybe 6 months out of a year and only pushing a button to open and close that a part should not be available to repair at a reasonable price. Very upset that nissan was very uncooperative and told me to spend more money to have a nissan dealer inspect, at my expense again, and then they would review that estimate. Then she told mewould probably be unlikely that they would change their decision and it would cost me even more money. They certainly lost me as a customer.

2005 nissan maxima, transmission shifts extremely hard when upshifting and down shifting. Sometimes it just stays neutral while stop and when the gas is pressed it jumps forward. This is extremely scary and unsafe.i was reading about this and it seems that this is a very common problem with nissan maximas 2004 and newer.there are thousands of complaints everywhere.

I just bought a 2004 nissan maxima last month, and it has been giving me problems, the transmission shifts hard on 2nd and 3rd gear, when i start the car it rattles, i have taken the car back to where i bought it from, they told me that they repaired it and that it was the transmission mount, but i know different, the car is still giving me problem. This is an on going thing, i have a little girl and don;t want anything to happen to her if this car stalls on the highway. I would like to know what can i toresolve this matter. Thanks

2005 nissan murano. The left seat ( drivers ). About one month ago i noticed that the seat was loose on the left side of the seat. I took it to the dealers and they found that the aft lift rod had cracked. The repair would cost over 1000 dollars. I made a repair on the seat by welding the broken part.

2005 nissan altima built in 2004 bad crank shaft sensor, was already recalled2002 & 2003 models and nissan is not recalling the 2004 built ones.

I have a 2008 maxima se which i purchased last year.the car continues to jerk (hard) when the car is shifting from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, and it also happens on the downshift from 2nd to 1st. The car was problem-free for the 1st year but for the past 3-4 months it has been a nightmare. The jerking gets so bad, it feels like you're getting punched! the problem is intermittent and rarely occurs on the highway.please let me know how i can get this defective vehicle fixed...at no cost to the owner since it's obviously a manufacture problem.i have spoke with other nissan maxima owners and have read several forums and they are experiencing the same problem!

My 2004 nissan maxima at slower speeds seems like the transmission seems to lock up momentarilyscary almost stopping this has happened on and off for a year now.

2006 nissan murano seat falls down and brackets break while driving down the road. I had my nissan murano power set fail while driving down the road the bottom section that is connected to the seat rail failed and caused me to go out of control when the seat leaned backwards i jerked on the steering wheel. Very very big problem and i almost ended up in the oncoming traffic.

Recently (07/10/10) my car just made a loud knocking noise blew a big smoke on the highway at 65mph--the fire men and police that showed up believe it threw a rod because it leaked oil everywhere, had the oil changed exactly 5 days prior.

I have a 2004 nissan maxima with transmission problems. The car has 62,000 miles on and the problem is just starting to surface. I get a jerking motion when the car shifts from 1st to 2nd or it downshifts from 2nd to 1st. It jerks especially hard when making a turn and the car slows down and picks up speed again. The thing i hate the most is he problem is temperamental. It'll be fine one day and the next it jerks around like crazy. I asked a friend who also has a 2004 nissan maxima and his does the same thing. Called the nissan dealership and they seem to have no solution. Is there a coincidence that all of these maximas are experiencing the same exact transmission problem. There should be a recall.

Third time front left steering stop goes bad. The steering stop was replaced twice in last than a year.

[xxx]driver seat broke from shaft, seat leans back, went to nissan dealer was advised it would cost $1500, checked around junk yards unable locate color, and the seat was in new jersey. I was unemployed at the time could not afford repair, my husband cut a 4x4 block to put under the back part of the seat, only had 32,000 miles, may 2012. I did not crash but had a big jerk and swerved to the left of the road.information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

I have a 2005 nissan maxima and he it jerking when i put it in "d"and i have read many reviews and this car should be recalled. We spend too much money on these cars and they are not safe.

Hello. I recently bought a 2004 nissan titan. When having the vehicle checked for safety, we noticed that one of the rear axle seals on the passengers side were leaking. The seal looked to have lead a fairly large amount of oil that was saturating the rim and also soaked the emergency break on the passenger side. After looking at the car fax in noticed that this same vehicle had a rear axle seal replace in january. I cannot be certain this seal was the same seal as the one in january. The vehicle has 68000 miles on it. After doing some research on titan talk.com i noticed that this is a common problem from this truck. I am not sure if anything can be done about it but i do feel like this could turn into a safety issue considering not only that this seems to be a common problem, but that when this problem does occur, it saturates the rims, tires and brakes with oil.

Premature wearing of rear brakes, squealing and vibration.there was a squeaking problem with the brakes when the car was purchased new on 2/18/2008.the rear brake shoes were replace on 9/26/08 with 5,460 miles on vehicle.car was sent to nissan dealer for state inspection on 12/8/2009 with 17,339 miles.rear brake linings were down to 2/32 of an inch.nissan will not fix under warranty.

I have 2004 nissan maxima with 90000 miles on it, 6 speed. About two years ago all most every gear started to jerk when i switch between gears, mostly 2nd and 3rd gear. I hear from other people that this models have this problems very frequently. The nissan should have recall on this models for transmission problems, cause all most every tranny with this model have problems and need to be replaced.

Both back passenger doors on the 2008 altima sometimes do not close. After opening the doors, and then trying to shut the doors they do not latch shut and bounce back to the open position. This has happened at least ten times and the door latches have been replaced. Within the week of the problem being "fixed" it happened again. It is only the two back doors not the front ones.

Brake master cylinder leaking fluid - requires topping off every few weeks (2-4 weeks, 200 miles). No loss of pressure as of yet (has not dropped below minimum).

Engine failure at high speed on highway almost causing a severe accident.

My nissanmurano will not go. It gets to 50 mph and then just stays there i am sure this the transmission and i have heard of several people with this new transmission having same problem. I think it should be replaced free of charge. This is not the first problem i have had. Petro nissan hattiesburg replaced all the underneath parts on my car after a log truck lost something off his truck and it went under my car and dented and knocked holes in my oil pan and exhaust. My uninsured motorist paid $3000.00 for repair and i paid 1400.00 out of pocket. Since then every bit of the work they did has fell out from under my car. I feel they are taking advantage of people especially women and nissan should pay to have it fixed right. I would not doubt one bit my transmission problem stems from those same repairs.i do not have $ to replace transmission.

2003 nissan altima2.5,crank position sensor, stalling all the time, trouble starting, also car using alot of oil ,alot of run around by nissan dealership continuous problems never has been solved or fixed. Very upsetting that nissan has over looked all the complaints that they have had since 2002.

Door lock failed to perform on nissan murano 051. Having a secure environment is paramount in certain neighborhoods. When locking the doors it's imperative nobody can gain access at will by walking up to the car. If anyone can simply open the door to gain access, carjacking, injury, or even murder is easier. If the doors locked properly this provides a more secure environment for this type of scenario. 2. Nissan knowing there is a security problem with their locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. It's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. Remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. The drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery.this failure is an intermittent of operation. Sometimes the doors lock ok, other times they don't. In addition, sometimes the doors unlock ok, other times they don't. 3. In emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. Since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. And the murano's design is such that it's not easy to comprehend if it's not your car, for instance a rental car. I can easily understand how some people would be confused how unlock a door using the manual level in an emergency when they virtually have no experience with it. In emergencies every second counts. The locking/unlocking solenoid malfunctioning is clearly a high risk in emergency scenarios. Some people who cannot afford the $1600 to have all the solenoids replaced (as quoted by dealers) will forgo getting them fixed, putting their family members at risk with the above mishap examples. This shouldn't be, nissan should recall them.

This is a safety hazard they cannot repair and the reason for a recall on the altima on july 28, 2008 - 08v363000 - suspension. Nissan has said it is not significant enough for them to buy back are car and they are disregarding the lemon law or 2007 nissan. We also had a tire blow outunder less than 23,000 miles.

I am having the same problems as indicated with other consumers. My care jerks. I have replaced the axles, air flow meter, ac line, ignition coil, spark plugs, alternator, etc. Currently, the timing change and tensioner needs repairing, the axles again from the jerking. I am a single mother who can not afford all of these repairs. I do not know what else to do. I will never buy another maxima. I also have had a diagnostic and it revealed 1 problem and once fix i still continue to have more problems on top of the jerking. Enough is enough.

In 2005 i purchased a 2004 nissan maxima.at around 60k miles the transmission started acting up. Everytime i reverse and put the car into drive there is a delay and the car all of a sudden jerks into drive.the car also jerks/slips into gears as you accelerate and when you apply the brakes. Nothing has worked to fix this problem.there are hundreds of complaints regarding this same issue all over the internet. Please help, this is no way that this is simply coincidence that every maxima is having the same issue.

The hubcaps on this car continually fall off the car.i have had the hubcaps come off the car three times in the last year.there is no service done to the car or wheels that would loosen the hubcap.i am constantly buying new hubcaps - they just loosen off the wheel base and fly off the car when driving.

My nissan altima has gone through 2 catalytic converts and is burning 2 quarts of oil every 100 miles.

My 2005 xterra gas gage goes to empty and will not show true amount in tank. This has been happening for about 1 month. Also the check engine stays on and i know it is from the fill valve from the gas tank. I had one replaced already about 1 year ago and the problem is back. This is a re occurring problem that has been continuing for the last 2 months. Also the latch for the rear hatch some times will lock and not open i also replaced this about 1 year ago and the problem continues.

On 09/01/2012, my 3 year old son almostdied, due to seat belt strangulation. Seat belt would not unlock. We had no idea that this feature existed. Child was not playing in vehicle unattended. He was properly secured in a child car seat. He reached the shoulder belt, without us being aware, and wrapped it around his neck, like a noose. He almost lost his life that day. These types of seat belts are extremely dangerous. There needs to be a safety release. After some time, i ran to the highway to flag down help. A car did stop, the man had a box cutter. I ran back to the vehicle, where my husband was holding our up, so his neck wasn't broken, from being lifted out of his car seat. I pulled on the belt to cut it , and it finally did release. We took our child to the emergency room. He suffered severe broken blood vessels to the face, eyes, scalp and ligature marks around his neck. We were told by the doctor, our son was lucky to be alive. I don't most parents are aware of the dangers these seat belts pose. As i said, we never let our children play in the vehicle. This is something that could happen to any parent unaware of the dangers, within arms reach. Parents need to be made aware of this hidden danger. Seat belts need to be equipped with a safetyrelease mechanism.

My sun visor keeps falling down while i'm driving. It interfere my driving ability.

I am wanting to know if my titan was purchased during hurricane katrina and what dealership it was bought from originally before it was delivered to me at the time of purchase i want to know all recalls and car fax and any reports made .

I own a nissan altima with a transmission that has failed. This is a very dangerous situation when acceleration is needed. The car rpm's run up at the same time and the car can not accelerate over 40-45 mph. I have found out nissan has had major problems with these transmission from 2007 on. Nissan will not do anything about the problem.

Driving off-road and small hills.front axle failure, 4x4 would not disengage, had to tow it.it is at the dealer present time. Getting the run around as far as fixing goes.they are waiting for some mechanic to arrive from outside the dealership to further asses the problem.

Damp patches appeared on the original alu rim 20'. It happened app. 3 months after using my new car. I have reported this fact to service during maintenance, but i was brushed off (it was my filling). Additionally the middle holes have sharp marks after rotating and balance in dealer service. I want to highlight that all works with wheels and tires have been discovered in service. I have reported this fact too, but without effect. Because original surface or alu rims was so easy changed color (permanently) i assume that quality of materials used to produce this part of rims are very poor and in effect it can be reason some incidents connected with broken rims. Of course my car is still in warranty and i hope that nissan will agree to change broken rims in my car asap to avoid any disasters.

My car started to have a very long cranking period when starting the back in 6/2007, took the car to dealership they nothing was wrong.i took my car to the same dealership three time between 6/2007 and 10/2007and everytime they said there was nothing wrong with the car. In 11/2007 i took the car to another dealership and they said it was the fuel pump, they replaced it under warranty. A year later in 11/2008 the started having the same issue and once again they fixed the issue, now in 3/2009 the car is having the same issue again. With all the problems you would think nissan would do something to fix this problem. This is getting very old because now the car is out of warranty.

2005 xterra35000 milesfilled up at gas station gauge went to completely empty. The dte read ------ . Did some research and foundthat this is affecting all exterrawhich seems to indicate this is a real problem with several models, including xterra's.now trying to find out why they apparently won't cover it. This needs to be a recall as this is affecting all customers.

This isn't fair. 2002 nissan altima. 5900 miles. Man this car is junk, nissan should reimburse people about that, work car ever. And i notice everyone have the same problem. The car stall, camshft problem.. Something need to be done. Its not safe when u driving and car die on you.

2006 nissan pathfinder has stopped 3 times in the middle of the road while driving down the street, car will not re-start, had to be towed to a dealership all 3 times.fuel sensor replaced, in the shop now for the same problem the third time.

2009 nissan rogue ,gas gauge not working properly,it gives a false full reading after 120 to 130 miles.

I find it hard to believe that the dot allows headlights to be produced that become cloudy, yellow, and hazed after a couple of years. When the headlights are like this it makes it very difficult to see at night.

2006 altima-sluggish performance-had to put 2 quarts of oilin car today-just had oil change two weeks ago.while driving up a slope car starts to jerks hard-pulled off road-cut the car off-took several tries before car would start.it has been doing this for the past two days...

2009 nissan rogue ,gas gauge not working properly,it gives a false full reading after 120 to 130 miles.

Fuel tank indicator does not indicate full tank after filling full; first occurrence in july 2007; second occurrence feb 2009; not under warranty second time.

Nissan armada (2007) fuel indicator malfunctions and subsequently causes the vehicle to run out of fuel.

Nissan xterra 2005 first the car dies on the road and would not start. I took it into a shop and they replaced the ipdm, latter that day i put fuel in the can and the fuel gage did not work and the check engine light came on.

This morning the car was warming up in front of our house ; it exploded and burned down; the front is completely melted; we were lucky not to have entered the car yet - fire department was called and managed to extinguish the fire before it reached the tank - other wise we would all be dead and our house gone.

I have a 2007 nissan xterra the fuel gage whent haywire. I took it to a nissan dealer and they told me it would be $600 to repair. This is bull seems a lot of xterras are having the same problem and nissan will do nothing about it. There should be a recall.

Thanks

My 2004 nissan maxima 3.5sl has a unreliable response from the passenger power door lock. It only lock and unlock partially, which i believe it is a critical safety issue and somewhat disappointing to see on a brand car like maxima.

Prematurely failing inner rear axle seals causing gear oil from diff to get into rear brake calipers and rotor causing increased braking distance.been replaced once on left and twice on right.

2004 nissan maxima that sways while driving straight and shifts hard or skips out of gear between 2nd and 3rd gear. Only have 59,500 miles on car and front struts sway bar sub frame bushings need to be replaced along with struts and transmission.

Thanks

Rear axle seal leak on my 2007 nissan titan xe.differential oil on rear brakes caused major safety problem.

I have a 2005 nissan maxima and he it jerking when i put it in "d"and i have read many reviews and this car should be recalled. We spend too much money on these cars and they are not safe.

I have a nissan murano. Ever since i purchased the car it is used, i have nothing but trouble with it. The place i got it from replaced the transmission and the new one is slipping everytime i drive it.

My 2004 nissan maxima at slower speeds seems like the transmission seems to lock up momentarilyscary almost stopping this has happened on and off for a year now.

Transmission issues. After 65,000 miles 2005 nissan maxima jerks between low gears shifts and slips frequently during normal driving. A transmission flush has been done on this vehicle as recommended by nissan service staff however issues continue.

2004 nissan maxima has a transmission problem.it slips, jerk, and stalls sometimes.

Prematurely failing inner rear axle seals causing gear oil from diff to get into rear brake calipers and rotor causing increased braking distance.been replaced once on left and twice on right.

Rear axle seal leak on my 2007 nissan titan xe.differential oil on rear brakes caused major safety problem.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)vin [xxx] 2006 muranosun visor driver side has been hanging, won't stay up or down.also, the driver seat is rocking while driving because it's tiltedon the left side.

Rental auto failed to stop. Went to floor on brake pedal and still did not stop. Hit parked car in driveway and fence at rental agency.

Brake master cylinder leaking fluid - requires topping off every few weeks (2-4 weeks, 200 miles). No loss of pressure as of yet (has not dropped below minimum).

Third time front left steering stop goes bad. The steering stop was replaced twice in last than a year.

2008 nissan rogue- both front door handles have completely failed and neither door can be opened from the outside. The only way to open the front doors is to climb in through the back doors and open from the inside.

Vehicle sways from left to right at speeds about 50 mph - swaying starts in rear end - replaced all shocks (rear) struts (front) - tires are fairly new have been rotated - concerned may lose control - this has been going on since 2007 - the above are recommendation of repair facilities.

Nissan has said it is not significant enough for them to buy back are car and they are disregarding the lemon law or 2007 nissan. We also had a tire blow outunder less than 23,000 miles.

A recall notice of leaking valve stems on 2009 nissan cube was performed in 2010,now the problem has regenerated , still leaking valve stem, causing tire to lose pressure while driving, causing flat tires.

Have had crash, and many recalls on my vechile. To many i think!!!!

Recently (07/10/10) my car just made a loud knocking noise blew a big smoke on the highway at 65mph--the fire men and police that showed up believe it threw a rod because it leaked oil everywhere, had the oil changed exactly 5 days prior.

Sunvisor falls down creating blind hazard.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)vin [xxx] 2006 muranosun visor driver side has been hanging, won't stay up or down.also, the driver seat is rocking while driving because it's tiltedon the left side.

2006 nissan murano.drivers side sunvisor will not stay in the "up" position.visor is very stiff trying to push up, and continually stays in the "down" position.

Normal bumps in road cause driver's side sun visor to drop and obstruct the driver's vision.part appears to be un-available and/or way over priced for something that should not fail within the first seveal years of operation.typical sun visors are priced from $50 to $200.nissan want over $350.00 for one.

My sun visor keeps falling down while i'm driving. It interfere my driving ability.

Back rear window regulators not functioning.

The windshield wipers quit working.

The hubcaps on this car continually fall off the car.i have had the hubcaps come off the car three times in the last year.there is no service done to the car or wheels that would loosen the hubcap.i am constantly buying new hubcaps - they just loosen off the wheel base and fly off the car when driving.
