Front passenger seat side air bag oem sensor connector failure. Airbag system failure light turned on and cannot be corrected.
I have an 09 mitsubishi lancer es sport with the sun and sound package. The amplifier, which is under my drivers side seat, for the soundsystem started smoking and sparking. I took it to the dealership, who replaced it a month ago, and a week ago, while i was driving, it started smoking and sparking again, but stops when you power off the radio, if the power is on in the radio, it continues to smoke and spark. I believe there may be a wiring defect in my car that is causing this to happen and fear that if it continues my car may eventually catch on fire.
I have two issues which seem to have both already been reported. 1. While driving the transmission will idle high while driving, but the vehicle is not speeding up. Then without warning the transmission catches, and the car lurches forward. This is a random issue that happens daily with the vehicle. Servicing the transmission has not fixed the problem and continues to be a problem to this day.2.the heater/ac control know became very difficulty to change between heater and a/c. The switch has finally broke off, and now i'm unable to switch between heater and a/c. I have done research and this also seems to be a problem that has not been resolved. I have found most other auto owners have paid for the replacement, but only to have the same problem occur again.i have done research on both of these issues and is has been reported as far back as 2004, and at this point i do see any recalls by mitsubishi to fix either of the problems.

I first noticed that my 2006 mitsubishi lancer evolution mr started to make a grinding/scrapping noise that seemed to be generating from the timing belt area. The car had approximately 30,000 miles on the odometer. It seemed to be a noise that was present at idle and upon cold start ups. I started to research this on various forums and internet, only to find that it was a common problem with a clear solution. There have been a few dealerships who have seemed to have resolved this issue but each fix seemed to vary within the timing belt area. The timing belt, sensor blade, tensioner, tensioner pulleys, etc. Have been known to cause this issue. The dealership that "fixed" my timing belt area grinding noise suggested that i replace the timing belt only, which i did.only to have the problem resurface about 2500 miles later.i am unwilling to keep putting timing belts in my car to temporarily fix the problem. It scares me that the dealer keeps trying to go down this same road with the same conclusion.this car is my daily driver and about 90% of the times my kids are in this car with me. It would be terrible if my engine brakes down on me while driving around with my kids in the car. This can be a dangerous problem. I urge mitsubishi to strongly consider a recall for this. With such an amazing car i would hope mitsubishi would standby it and do the right thing!
