8-14-13. Lucky no one was killed. Complete brake failure while my wife was driving on the highway. Car towed to dealership. Hydraulic sensotronic brake control (sbc) unit failed. Dealer wants $2,065.00 for repair and states vehicle out of warranty. Escalated to mb usa who also rejects coverage of repair which is clearly a safety / design flaw. Mercedes-benz e320 recall 04v296000, 10-21-04 sensotronic brake control (sbc) may default to the basic hydraulic function mode. Recall number 2004 050014. Also, mercedes-benz e320 recall 05v133000, 10-8-05 the sensotronic brake control (sbc) system may default to the basic hydraulic mode. Greater pedal pressure and longer pedal travel will be required when trying to stop the vehicle. Mercedes-benz recall numbers are 2005 070007 and 2005 110001. Escalating to mb usa / north america and calling our lawyer.
