My 2000 mazda 626 began having problems a week after purchasing april 10, 2008! the car started having electrical problems which resulted in 3 batteries, 2 alternators, no ac or defrost could be run. Then the brakes were replaced twice within a 2 month period! all these problems resulted in me almost being killed from an automobile accident! this happened june 8, 2009 which was a monday approx. 4 pm. The airbags never deployed, and my head hit the steering wheel. Windshield shattered all over my hand resulting in severe lacerations! this car needs looked at asap!!!! please help

I noticed from tsb#97-24-14, nov 1997 that the wire harness terminal repair kit was a recall problem for the 1998 ford ranger pick-up, my mazda b3000 had a burned out pad switch and modular for the airbag. The 1998 mazdab3000 and ford ranger are exactly the same truck, how come the 98 mazda does not have a recall.

I purchased a 2007 mazda rx-8.i started noticing that the dashboard of the passenger side starting cracking around the area where the air bag is located.i have reached out to ocean mazda and to mazda usa.no one got back to me.i am very concern that the air bag may deploy or worst case scenario that the air bag will not deploy when in a head on collision.the car is well maintain and there is no reason why the dashboard only on the passenger side around the airbag is all cracked.

Engine failure, purchased car 3/11/2006, a couple of weeks later the car started idling roughly, then stalling, the computer module has been replaced twice, the engine once, i still have problems with acceleration, the last incident happened last week 7/29/2007, i was in the center lane pulling out into the passing lane and the car lost all power but did not stall my head was slammed forward almost hitting the stirring wheel and a few seconds later shot off like a rocket slamming my head back against the drivers seat, causing my neck to whip lash i have had a bad headache since, and iwas almost hit by a big diesel truck. The car is in the shop again getting the oil and tires changed, and also getting checked for this problem but they are saying they could not find anything on the road test. Well it happens to me quite often when i go to pass someone on the interstate, it hesitates before it kicks in and someone is going to get killed. I am paying for a car that spends more time in the shop than out. I bought it 3/11/06 it stayed in the shop almost continually until 7/18/2006, and i was making payments. Now it is starting all over again with the rough idle and hesitation. I am getting to the point that i want my money back and i'll give them the car back. I am getting to scared to drive it. Now i find out today about other recalls the control armi was not aware of, i guess that is why my car is starting to pull hard to the right, now i have to have that taken care of.i have moved 350 miles away and i can't leave until my car gets fixed and out of the shop, this is starting to be bull!!! someone needs to do something i have a friend who also has an rx8 we purchased ours on the same day and she is having the same problems and hers is a 2006 where mine is a 2004, so mazda hasn't fixed the problem.

We were broadsided by a vehicle that ran a red light at full speed. The impact was on the passenger side. The car flipped over and skidded onthe passenger side then flipped back onto the drivers side and skidded before rolling over at least once. Not one air bag deployed. Thank god for the seat belts. They saved our lives. Injuries were concussions, sprained neck, injuries to lower neck, back and shoulder of passenger. We landed upside down, released our seat belts and crawled to safety with the help of police and fire. Our speed was about 25-30 miles /hour. Our car was totalled. The other driver was cited in the accident.

I do not have a failure to report.however, i do want to report that mazda is doing a disservice to parents who drive their cars by not publishing the upper weight limit for children for their latch anchors.every other manufacturer publishes this information (ie, 40 pounds for honda, 48 for ford and gm, 60 pounds for subaru) except mazda.by not providing this information, parents may be inclined not to use the latch system, therefore using the seatbelt, which is more difficult and makes it more likely to get an improper carseat installation, meaning that the child in that seat is less secure than they would be in a seat installed with latch.the nhtsa should require that all car manufacturers in the us publish the upper weight limit for a safe latch installation.

I have a 2007 mazda6. Driving through rain storm on i-4 driving slowly for only five minutes. Next day remote, electric doors, blinkers, inside light would not work. Took to dealer who states junction box got water in it and need to be replaced. Don't understand how driving on interstate cause water to get in junction box if it was protected by manufacture. It rains in florida. Howcan you travel on interstate and electrical components not be protected by manufacture on new car. Never had this problem with any other vehicles.

Mazda rx8: sir, i have been the sole owner of this vehicle since the day i purchased it, and each time i'm on a business trip for one week or more, the car has to be towed for services. Either for flooding out or recharging the battery.last month i bought an advertised device, car md, to help diagnose the problem and it indicates there's an electronic sensor issue, which mazda choose not to admit. My car has less than 24,000 miles on it and has been a living nightmare since i purchased the vehicle.now, the company wants me to pay four thousand dollars for repairs when i been complaining about this same issue. Request your assistance in rectifying this matter or point me in the right direction of what agency has oversight of these matters.

The rotary engine rx8 (my 2005) continues to have starting problems.i have just over 100,000 miles on my vehicle.i've replaced the starter three times now, the spark plugs at least twice, three batteries.it is an unreliable vehicle and has had to be towed six times now.obviously a dangerous situation in that you don't know if the car stalls if or whenyou can restart the vehicle.

2008 mazda cx9 smart key, after reprogramming ($350) new fobs ($100 each) and numerous battery replacing the smart key still will not function as promised, wirelessly unlocking, locking and starting the vehicle. Here is only one key hole on the vehicle, which cases he owner/ driver/ user to constantly walk around the vehicle to lock/ unlock and/or start the car. It also greatly increases the risk of loosing the only hard copy of the key costing another $350 in programming and cutting.

I purchased a new mazda 6 in 2005.since then i have had to replace the battery 3 times. Each time the battery went out with no warning. It would be driving fine, i would park and get out.when returning to the car, it will not turn at all.internal and external lights and radio worked fine but car will not turn.the first two times the battery was jumped and the car was taken to a mazda dealership and replaced under the mazda battery manufacturer warranty because they went out before the 36 month warranty.the last time in august of 2010, the battery will not jump. I paid to have the car towed to a mazda dealership.i was told that the battery had a crack in it and acid leaked out and as a result, the engine wiring harness needed to be replaced.at this time, the battery was covered under the mazda manufacturer warranty and the wiring harness was covered under my mazda extended warranty plan.i did some research and found that there is a possibility that the leaking acid could have caused an explosion and my family was lucky.i received a call from the dealership saying that the manufacturer warranty will replace only the battery itself and the extended warranty is denying the entire claim because the damage to the wiring harness was from the battery acid.so, here i am with a battery under mazda manufacturer warranty, covered by a mazda extended warranty plan and i had to pay for everything except for the battery itself. I paid for the tow, the labor and parts for the harness, rental car while it was being services. And the fact is that there was a faulty battery that leaked acid, put my family in danger, and i was stuck with the collateral damages.considering that this was my 3rd battery replacement in 5 years, i'm certain there is something wrong with these batteries or something in the car itself.i am now driving with my 3rd mazda battery replacement and afraid of when my next incident is going to be..

My 1998 mazda 626 is unreliable. It has been in and out of a dealers service departmentto get them to find out why it cuts off in the middle of operation or why it will only crank sporadically.theycheck, say they have identified the problem, charge us for a repair (because it is out of warranty. It rarely works more than a day after it has been repaired and then it is on the blink again.the reported problem from day one has not changed, it will not work properly due to failure to crank.we want it fixedand we expect trained technicians to know what to look for to fix it.we have now paid out over $1000 with parts and labor and still we have a car that will not work. North park mazda, jackson, ms has all of the recent service records which back up what i have stated.

March 09 for the "umpteenth" time the check engine light came on; took 2007 mazda cx-7 in to dealership to have the " code " checked; this time (as multiple items were repaired or replaced while still under the 36,000 mile warranty) the code read "oxygen sensor" & i reported that i would need my a/c checked because it sounded and smelled funny plus it didn't always cool; they deferred the a/c, "didn't need any repairs, seemed fine" according to dealership; they replaced the o2 sensor at the cost of >$500.00 (this is a "common problem" with 2007 cx7/ checked online after the repair and $$$ cost); now july 19, 2009/ had driven car roundtrip 25 miles approx./ noticed smoke coming from under hood (no dash panel light/ or other indicator as to a problem)/ opened hood and smelled something burning plus lots of thick smoke; right side of front quarter panel & hood extremely hot to the touch (leaned in against it to look under hood and got burned (like touching a hot lightbulb or pot of coffee); didn't see any flames, but continued to smell smoke; car is currently outside with hood open, plus windows and sunroof open to allow the smoke that came into the cabin out; researched problem online(after learning from expensive repair march 2009) & saw all the reports re: smoke damage/ locked-up a/c compressor/ melted wiring to other engine parts/ paint damage; will be taking cx7 in to dealership for diagnostics in the am(from online complaints i get that the repair bill will probably be >$1200); why are almost all of the 2007 mazda cx-7 owners having the exact same problems and repairs & still no recall; my car "almost caught fire" because of a "known problem by mazda" and still no recall; if i had driven any longer/farther my car probably would have caught fire; please do something now, before someone gets hurt or killed because of these "known" problems. Unknown property damage amount at this time (too be determined by dealership mechanics). Thanks for your assistance.

Before our factory warranty was up the dealership fixed our catalytic converter 3 times. After our extended warranty was up we in the last 6 months had to fix both upper camber arms, driver side axel, tire rod ends on both sides, driver side wheel bearings, and now just yesterday we broke down. The belt pulley tensioner went. The mazda parts co. Had told me that they had this part in stock about 10 minutes ago but sold it. This is a $300.00 part and the maintnence is about $500.00 to have them fix it. I don't understand why there hasn't been any recalls on this vehicle. The trade in value isn't even what we owe on the car. We still have 2 1/2 years of payments. The car was burning something but there was no fire. It was the belt falling off while i was driving.

I purchased a car in april 2001 (a used car) and have an extended warranty for it.car started giving me problems in 2002 so i decided to use my extended warranty to get the car fixed once it broke down on me on the highway; i found out that the warranty company never heard of me and that my warranty never existed.the place that i brought the car from went out of business because of fraudulent activities, but they did have one other car place that was still operating, so i called that place and explain the problem to them.they assured me that they would take care of me.they tried twice too fix the problem and supposedly fixed the problem, the car is still the same way it was when i brought it to them.they are giving me the run around.my extended warranty is suppose to last 60 months or 100,000 meters which ever comes first.i used my car daily because i have small children and it seems like the company still wont honor the fake warranty that i have that was given by them.my transmission on the car is worse than before.the company is dick gidron ford/cadillac.they were all over the news for fraud.please help.*la

Automatic transmission burnt out! car was towed to workshop and remanufactured transmission needed to be put in cost $3100. Was little over 3 years from purchase date, therefore was not covered under warranty.the problems did not stop there, in about 50 days, "check engine" light came on... Took it to the same place who worked on the transmission. Technician reported new problem unrelated to automatic transmission, new service cost $500. The car cost me big $$$ in maintainance.... Don't know if this is the end of the problems... Mazda 626 owners watch out!

At 50,089 miles, my transmission failed; more specifically, the torque converter malfunctioned resulting in total transmission failure. I have had numerous problems with this vehicle -- i had to replace rotors within the first year of ownership, and may have to do so again at 52,000 miles. The vehicle has trouble starting, the brakes aren't very responsive, and i've had to replace the ignition switch with an unattractive and impractical replacement, because the dealership reported that the type that came with my vehicle wasn't available. The rear window has leaked. Needless to say, the warranty expired just before my transmission failed.

Purchased a new 2002 mazda protege on 2/20/02 from ramsey mazda, ramsey, nj.other than regular oil changes, only service to vehicle done by mazda dealer on 5/8/02 when car stalled and dealer installed new computer.on 8/24/03, while driving car stalled and i saw smoke coming from under the hood.opened hood and saw engine compartment engulfed in flames.fire department called and put out fire but not before extensive damage done to front of car.insurance company has deemed car totalled.mazda claims they have no investigative team to determine cause of fire and that my insurance company should hire an independent investigator.insurance company refuses to hire investigator.

My mazda 3 was driving perfect. Until the otherother day. Started pulling to the right and shaking. Now not is missing motor mount pads. Using more gas...not driving correctly. Please fixm.

I had an oil change a month ago andi am now getting a leak underneath the front right side of my car underneath the front right suspension and wheel well.the leak then spread behind my right front rim and i looked under the hood and i believe it was on this one light blue valve with the letter h on it. I just want to know has anyone else had this problem with the same model and year? and i have had my car for a year now.

Front spark plug blew out of the holder it was in..including the rubber gasket that held it in.

Transmission failure had to be replaced, overdrive light constantly flashing, dealers stated was oxygen sensor replaced both sensors, problem not solved, replaced transmission replaced several days later with another, first replacement was defective.*la

There is a sulfur smell coming from the engine into the passenger compartment, dealer said its the ethanol gas that is causing the problem and that it is seasonal; dealer said to try other gas; dealer has said they have received other complaints of this same smell and that at least one (pregnant) owner cannot drive her car without becoming sick.*la

I have a mazda rx8 2005. It repeatedly stalls and has needed a new engine twice in less than a year. Mazda covered the first engine but is now refusing the second. I am aware that these particular vehicles have many problems.

I recently bought a used mazda cx-7 grand touring edition vehicle.i bought it on november 8, 2008 with 18,000 miles on it.after owning it for a year and a half i was driving to work one morning when i heard a pop and clanking sound.i continued to drive until my car started losing power however i managed to make it to work. No lights came on, nothing.my husband came that morning to drive the car to the mechanic and within 2 miles all the dash lights came on and the car lost all power.it was towed to grappone mazda in concord nh for what i thought would be warranty work since we were still under the warranty.we were told to produce all service records which we did, and they found some gaps, however, never over the recommended 7500 miles that they recommend for an oil change.our warranty coverage was denied twice.to this day, we still don't know what is wrong with our engine.there have been suggestions and also we've been told that the turbo definitely went.we obtained a carfax to see what was done to the car before we owned it and found out the turbo had been replaced before we bought the car when it was only a year old with 18,000 miles on it.mazda is refusing to work with us on this and have left us without a car now for 2 months.

I took my 2009 mazda6 touring edition in to get my first oil change.the car was in perfect condition with only 3,600 miles.when i returned later to pick up the car i was told that there was a safety recall for the door locks.i said okay so what now.the jim ellis service department said we will give you a loaner.i turned in the car on saturday i picked the car up on tuesday and drove it home.when i arrived at my house i tried to lock the door by pushing the button on the driver side.nothing happened so i tried a few more times.the only way to lock the door was with the key.i called the service department the next morning and they asked if i could bring the car back for them to take a look.i took the car back and they still could not figure out what was wrong.they again gave me a loaner car.thursday evening i was told the car was fixed.they said an engineer had looked at the car and it was fixed for sure.well guess what it is still not fixed.now they are telling me that the battery must have been run down because the doors were left open.thursday evening i am home with my loaner from jim ellis wondering if i will ever get my car back and if i do get it back will it really be fixed.

My wife and i purchased a 2007 mazda cx-7 a few years ago, and over the last three months it has been in the shop with multiple problems. From an oil leak, to a bad compressor, then the timing chain gone bad and now another problem with the egr. The car has a little over 38k miles and to me it seems very odd for a car being this young in miles, to have major problems such as these. After going back and forth with the mazda corporate office, they first agreed to pay for the parts for my latest problems since i'm now out of warranty. I was fine with that until i found out the labor was over $500 to fix this problem. When i call the corporate office to try to discuss splitting the labor costs, their supervisor contacted me back with an attitude like i did something wrong and decided they were now not going to help at all. That is just poor customer service behind a vehicle that was not ready to be put on our us roadways. In my opinion, this car should be recalled. After reviewing some of the forums, many others agree with my displeasure in the problems with the mazda cx-7--check this linkhttp://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0e5b59/110. Thank you.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). Hello, i own a 2005 mazda 3. 2.3 motor. I am having a lot of difficulties with two motor mounts. The vehicle only has 60,000 miles on it and the two are already broken. After reading several reviews and after going to several auto mechanics it has been brought to my acknowledgement that many consumers are having problems with these motor mounts. The motor mounts cause intense vibration while slowing and speeding. It is pretty scary. I which they would not only call the part a defect but recall it. I feel it is not safe to drive the vehicle and all the auto mechanics tell me the same. Mazda of course states it is not a hazard. When someone's engines drops out of the vehicle due to the motor mounts failing because they are defective i ensure they will readvise their judgment. [xxx]

I just bought a 2004 mazda rx8 and a piece of road debris hit my ac condenser causing all the freon to leak out. This happened due to the gaping hole in the front air dam of my vehicle. I live in southern texas where temps can climb well over 100 degrees. (higher inside the car) i worry my 3yr old son is at risk of heat stroke or worse from the temps. Mazda will not cover this in their warranty yet they do nothing to protect the highly vulnerable condenser, oil cooler, and radiator from being pelted from road debris. As a matter of fact the air dam is so poorly designed that it actually funnels rocks into the ac condenser itself. I am now worried that a piece of ''road debris'' may hit my oil cooler and spill oil all over the highway. That is definitely not considered safe under any circumstances. Many people online i have spoken to have had this same problem and the service person at the dealership stated, ''we see cars in here for this all the time''. The total repair cost is over 800$. Even having to pay my deductible is asking a lot for this type of ''malfunction''. Mazda advertises this car as a 4-door coupe and sells the car on its ''practicality''. How practical is it to have ''road debris'' destroy your ac a week after purchase? i purchased the car from ingram park auto center here in san antonio, tx. From a gentleman named juan leon. They were of no help in the matter.

Mazda tribute suv - 2000 -- recall/replace 2004 o2 sensor, began problems after this.incident:after driving and engine is hot, then stop at the store for 10-20 mins., then car will not restart or stay started.if it restarts, i continue to have to press the gas while stopping and braking to keep the engine from dying. If the engine has cool temperature outdoors or has ample time to cool down, this problem does not occur.

I have a mazda cx-7 2007. In the last 6 months i had to replace ac condenser twice. It locked up and started smoking. And the car was undriveable. Now they have 300 back orders for this part before i can fix my car.

The a/c on my new car does not cool the car to any comfort level.. I sweat in the heat with theac on.it doesn'tcool the car inside.i had it checked by my mazda dealer they said it is up to the maufactuer's standards.i told them that i have difficulty accelerating with the ac on when passing at 40mph the car would not move it dragged.i had to flloor the gas pedalon a majorr interstate to move from 40-60,from too slow to too fast.i had seconds to move or get killed.the ac does not work and the service managerr told me i have too small an engine and that i should have gotten the larger engine the( 2.3) yet they deny anything wrong with the ac system.the ac hasn't worked since i bought it in may i noticed it in july.it took three weeks for the dealer to get back to me about an appt. Please ignore the hood equipment added below( nothign addded after car was sold) could not remove equipment added in this report.

My 2000 mazda 626 ls overheated on june 16, 2006. The o/d off light has been flashing when on the road for more than an hour since the fall of 2005. The transmission has not yet failed but has begun to. The car strains whenever i drive it & its lack of stability has led to close calls with accidents whenever there's rain or snow. Every time i am on the road for more than 45 minutes, the engine heats up to the point that it boils the transmission fluid, which overflows onto the rest of the engine. After approx. 15 more minutes, the o/d off light begins to flash & my car starts to resist speeds over 60 mph. The rpms increase when the light flashes & there's a dangerous delay in my ability to slow the car down as the car lurches.on june 19, 2006, i took the mazda to an imports specialist who informed me that my transmission will soon fail. A new transmission costs approx. $2800 & a used one costs approx. $1800. However, the transmissions that fit my car are the same type oftransmission that was initially put in my engine & will fail after another 70,000 miles due to its being too small for the 626. Putting an "external cooling system" under the hood is approximately $300 & is a temporary bandaid for the issue which will still occur.i have done research & found thousands of documents that have stated that all automatic mazda 626 ls vehicles from 1994-2000 have engines that were made for a smaller car & are therefore too small for the 626 ls. According to said research all 1994-2000 626 ls vehicles have transmissions that will fail between approx. 70-80,000 miles. My car has 74,400 miles at the date of this complaint. Mazda refuses to take accountability for this situation, yet it has become common knowledge among car dealerships, so the value of my car has dropped dramatically & it has become difficult for me to sell. Nothing can be done to fix the problem unless an entirely new engine is put into the car which will cost

Motor mounts were changed with less than 40,000 miles without having any front end damages.covered by extended warranty.despite regular oil changes and only 40,000 plus miles, the dealer said the engine's oil ports were clogged requiring the removal of the valve cover and oil pan to remedy the alleged problem.cost ofrepairs, approx $700.despite having the front brake pads changed and the rotors turned twice within 50,000 miles, the front wheel bearing failed and were changed.now with 60,000 miles the engine suddenly began leaking oil from every major area: oil pan, valve cover, rear main seal, etc., etc., etc.in addition to those oil leak areas, one cv joint and boot is bad, the engine mounts are once again bad without any front-end damages, and the water pump is bad.there are many other items that have failed during this short period of time. Regardless of performing regularly scheduled routine service as required by the manufacturer, this vehicle far exceeds what anyone would consider to bestandard failures.

Transmission went out without warning on my 2000 mazda 626 and also a few month later the motor went out too, i had to buy a new transmission and motor.

My 2000 ford f-250 with a triton v-10 motor is blowing spark plugs. It has blown 5 spark plugs now over the last 6 months or so, and this is on a motor installed by ford. So if there claim of improper torque is true then it was them who is to blame. I also read many consumer reports saying many ford model engines do this from 2000 to 2004. It isvery unsafe, fuel still keeps pumping even when the spark plug is gone. You can smell the fule coming out very strongly and fires have occured under the hood due to this dangerous situation.

Mazda cx7 2007- 21,000 mile . Air conditioner seized there by shredding serpentine belt , loss of power steering, alternator. Repaired under warranty. Then 1 week later after about 900 miles the pulley off crankcase (harmonic balance) actually fell off ( found inside wheel well fender). Serpentine belt now not spinning , loss of power steering again and engine over heating again. Second repair in progress now(06-22-09).

Mazda tribute 2002, had lower engine replaced after 4000 as it totally died on the highway.20 months later i am having the engine replaced, this time it is out of warranty.the cams weren't getting an oil for some reason and they are shot, the lifters were also broken and the head is warped.service rep said the engine is in good shape and can see that there is little wear on the engine.

Approximately a week and a half after having the throttle cable serviced on a recall, was travel at 75 mph when the vehciles rpms started to revving at a high rpm, but no increase in speed. Vehciles engine shut off and i managed to pull the side of the road. After having the wehcile towed to the dealer, i was told the entire engine needed to be replaced, they could not tell me what caused the problem, vehcile was 4 months out of warrenty, with 34,700 miles. Mazda onlyhelping with a small percentage of the repair bill of approx. $ 5,500.00. Have had no luck in contacting anyone at mazda who can help. I'm convinced that the replaced throttle cable failed or become stuck, but the dealer claims that it had nothing to do with what happened. Until this had no problems with vehicle.

The subject vehicle is a 2001 mazda tribute which was purchased july 2003.it had approximately 30k miles.current mileage is 61000.during the first three months of ownership, the vehicle stalled three times during acceleration.the dealership examined the vehicle and determined the failure cause to be an oxygen sensor in the computer.the tribute was under warranty and therefore repaired at no cost.later, this defect was a recall issue, where the computer needed to be reset.after 6 months of ownbership, the car had a leaky cv boot.approximate mileage was 45k.again, the vehicle was under warranty repaired at no cost.four days ago, the vehicle would start but not idle and there was a gas odor.it was towed to the dealership, where they determined the failure reasons were two-fold.both the idle switch andthe air intake manifold gaskets needed to be replaced.dealership said the gaskets were cracked and started to crumble.whoever heard of intake manifold gaskets requiring replacement at approximately 60k??one of the criteria used to select this vehicle was the high reports of reliability.based upon this vehicle, i'd say the reports are wrong.

From the day i drove my new 2002 mpv home the transmission mis-shifted and bucked. I called the dealer the following day and they told me that "the transmission computer was learning my driving habits and it would go away. After 3 months the problem persisted and began stalling at lights. I took the car in and they said they could find no problem. When i asked them what they needed to repair the problem they said that there were no computer upgrades for the transmission and i would have to wait until there were.a year passed and it continued to buck and stall. I took the car in again and told them i thought it was a "lemon" and i wanted it repaired. They took the car and "fixed it" but it has continued to mis shift regularly. At around 25,000 miles the engine light came on and a diagnostic test revealed it needed new plugs. After replacing the plugs it appeared to run less erratically. It now has 65,000 miles on it and a diagnostic test reveals that the #5 cylinder coil is out. Apparently each spark plug has its own coil. I have ordered the coil and am waiting to see what problem will come up next. In oct 2005 mazda sent out a voluntary laboratory emission testing form. Since they wanted the vehicle for 2 weeks and i already didn't trust there competency i declined the offer. Nevertheless, this told me that they must be having emission problems as well. I cannot believe there has been no recall on this vehicle from the manufacturer or a government required recall. The dealer never fixed the problem from day one, the car is now out of warranty and now i have no recourse. I have lost all confidence in mazda. I will be contacting some attorneys about a class action lawsuit. It seems like it will take a fatality on a freeway from a failed transmission before mazda or the government will look into this!

A new catalytic converter was purchased from a mazda dealer in mayaguez, puerto rico on august 29, 2009. The same was placed on the vehicle, a 2005 mazda rx-8 shinka model, one week after the purchase since we had to wait for the arrival of this part and a new set of spark plugs that was also purchased at a price of $200.00. The car was not in use until the end of september 2009. On september 24, 2009 the car had a failure and i could see smoke coming out of the car and the car turned off in the middle of the highway. I could smell burnt plastic and saw melted plastic coming below the car. The day all this happened, it was raining so the car was protected from a fire due to the rain. I got pictures of some of the melted parts. After the car was towed to the dealer they told me that the heat produced by the catalytic converter burned the new spark plugs, the spark plugs cables, the modules and that there was ash on the system that needed to be cleaned. They do not want to replace all the parts that burned at the consequence of the faulty catalytic converter since my car guarantee was no longer valid. They did not make any efforts to solve the problem knowing that all the damages were due to the faulty condition of the catalytic converter. They will only provide a new catalytic converter ($1500.00 cost) but i have to pay about the same amount for the rest of the damage. I knew that another client had the same problem with a new catalytic converter on the same model of car and that the part was also supplied by autoland. I have seen on the internet other complaints about these faulty catalytic converters. Mazda should be responsible for the damages produced by the failure of their catalytic converters. Thank you.

Door handles on all 4 doors have broken at different times, front and back passenger door handles have broken a second time. Dealer has replaced the first time, currently driving with broken doors and no way to get out unless someone opens the door from the outside.

Bought car used with 24,000 miles. Transmission went out at 30,000 miles. Found out 3 factory transmissions had be installed prior to 24,000 miles. Paid labor to have 4th transmission installed (30,000 miles). Front axel fell off - reason for gas comsuption going up (double normal use).

The dashboard on my 2010 mazda 6 is melting. It is becoming oily and very sticky and there is nothing on the market to alleviate the problem. Mazda says the only thing i can do is buy a new dash at $900.00. 4 year old car....not acceptable.

Replaced 4 rims and 4 tires.chrome five star rims very defective on the mazda millenia s millennium edition.

I bought a mazda 626 2001 in october 2005. In january of 2006 (4 months later) the transmission blew up. Tranny fluid was every where and there was a hole in the tranny it's self, i was stranded. Thankfully i purchased the extended warranty, and the factory warranty covered the cost.again. Less than a month and a half, i have the same problem.i took it back to the transmission shop and they told me that if was a 'wear and tear" problem.i then took it to the original dealer and the informed me that it was the transmission mounts that caused it to slip.the dealer again sent it to their contractor...the same ones that 'fixed' it before.needless to say i have come to my ends trying to fix my car.i rely on my car for transportation to get not only myself to work, but also my nephew to daycare, and my mother to work.if you could please help me get resources, or help me resolve my problem i would greatly appreciate it.thank you for your help.i hope to hear from you soon.

Under normal driving conditions, the pulsation damener on the primary fuel rail failed, spraying fuel over the entire engine bay, which resulted in a fire of the compartment, which was quickly extinguished via handheld fire extinguisher.the part was replaced, at a high cost, due to the fact that the whole fuel rail must be replaced to correct the problem.

I have had numerous transmission problems with my 1997 mazda 626.i have reported it to mazda corp. And no action has been taken.my transmission failed for the first time in aug. 2002, a ga mazda dealer admitted that mazda is aware that the this year make & model had transmission problems.due to this admission my transmission was replaced and i split the cost 50/50 with the dealer.now two plus years later, i am told today by a ca mazda dealer that my transmission is going out again.the ca mazda delaer also admits that this year make & model has a known transmission problem, but warrants that technically it is not the responsibility of the dealer to offer such information...but only to try to fix the problem at hand.they stated they were being nice by telling me to not put any more money into the car because it will probably only be a temporary fix and i may experience another transmission failure later.this is ridiculous that a major us car manufacturer can get away with selling a defective vehicle for this many years.py perusing the internet i have found many complaints, and documentation showing that mazda 626'sranging from 1994-2000 have known transmission problems.yet mazda dealers & car lots across the country are still able to sell these cars.it is not fair to the consumer, and it is not fair to those who value and depend on the auto industry to deliver safe and well engineered cars.please look into this matter, how many more complaints will it take!!

[xxx]

1.normal use of door2.tried to open door, handle broke in half, could not open door unless you rolled down window and reached out to use outside handle.

I bought the vehicle in january of 2004 with 36,000 miles on it. The transmission stopped shifting into 1st and 2nd gears.the transmission was replaced in feb of 2005 with a rebuilt transmission by the dealer. Recently the car had the o/d light flash and it will not shift into gear. It will not engage in reverse. With 85,000 miles on the vehicle the transmission now needs to be rebuilt again after less than 3 years.

I had a coupon for $14.99-oil change and tire rotation from firestone.com. I brought my car into the shop...did not rotate tires and said they had no coupon. I was charged more than the coupon. I reluctantly paid the bill. I then drove to lakeville, mn...on my way to visit father in batesville, ar. I noticed a strange smell and almost the same time my car popped out of gear. So i pulled off i-35 and checked the oil. The cap was not on correctly, (1 1/2 turns then it was tightened) i called firestone immediately to report the cap and smell. My dipstick read full...i was not able to check the tranny fluid since it is below (manual transmission), but was assured by firestone they check the level with an oil change. Long story short...i have had to replace my oilpan and transmission. Now today there is no fluid in my radiator...and i have drained all of my resources and have become delinquent will my regular budget.there was only 1/2 qt oil in my motor and 1/2 qt tranny fluid in my transmission. I have all my receipts from regular maintenance and have spoken to mechanics. They have repeated to me that i need to find legal counsel or get help since the car was fine before i went to firestone. They have ignored my last 2 calls ( on hold)there was only 1/2 qt oil in my motor when i arrived at my fathers in arkansas. My car has never burned oil or the like. There was a hole in my oilpan between the size of a golfball and a tennis ball...the car did not hit anything to cause this. At the same time my oil was drained the dipstick continued to read full, the mechanic was concerned.i could no longer use 5th gear and 3rd gave out as well. Firestone assured me all fluids were checked...but the mechanic was not convinced. My fathers new driveway was stained from the oil. I cannot remember which day i had my oil changed, friday or saturday july 18th or 19th.i need to find the receipt.

Lemon - this car has had problems since i bought it. Everything from transmission to computer to timing belts to power steering problems. At about 70,000 miles i had it fixed again under warranty and since then i've had to pay for all repairs. Last year it was the radiator i guess things wear out but it took mazda 2 tries to fix it. This year i got a check engine light for something called the idol air control valve and the power steering something or other. This sounds familiar and the symptoms are something i've experienced before. After replacing the idol air control valve it the problem didn't go away and i was told it would cost 3500 for a new transmission. I made the mistake of trying to fix it. I took it to aamco and i feel really bad now because after 3 tries they still haven't been able to fix the problem. They still have the car and i have no idea when it will be fixed not to mention it's cost a lot more than i expected to fix.

I am now having to put the 3rd transmission in my 99 mazda protege, the first two were at mazda expense and i feel the 3rd should be as well since this is a known problem with this vehicle and this model.

The dollar figures are approximate.in february 2002 my daughter and i purchased a used 1999 mazda 626 with an automatic transmission from wilson dodge in torrington ct, 06790 for $9000.part of the original purchase was a promise to install a sun roof for $500. The warranty was for 60 days or 2000 miles. We were told that the transmission on the car was its second.under normal circumstances, i would take that as good news.a faulty one is replaced.how often does a transmission fail? in april (about 5 '' 10 days after the warranty expired), the transmission needed replacing. The cost was estimated at $2300.after attempting to get this covered by the dealer in good faith, i authorized the installation of a rebuilt transmission. During this negotiation i had to endure with some snide remarks from some of the other sales people when i mentioned that another dealer would have taken care of this.their response was ''yeah. They say that because they did not sell you the car!''(the warranty on the rebuilt transmission was 1 year or 12,000 miles) the sunroof cost was forfeited leaving a balance of $1800.it was agreed that i would pay $300 a month until the balance was done. In april of 2007, the same issue occurred. The transmission failed. I did some research and found that mazda had used an inferior transmission in its 626 models. (http://www.estreetjournal.com/mazda.htm)my big complaint is against mazda, but i also have one against wilson dodge.they had to have known about this issue.mechanics know these things.i believe this is a case of fraud on their part. Twice my daughter was stuck on a busy road because the transmission failed.this is a father''s worst nightmare.i am looking for a settlement that will eliminate the remaining balance on the loan ($1,600), reimbursement for the first transmission replaced $2300) as well as a recall on the mazda 626 where this grossly, negligent problem exists.

This is actually the second failure of the transmission. The first failure occurred in early 2003 while the car was still under the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty (it had about 33,000 miles on it). The problem was the one outlined in the mazda tsb # 0500502. I had the fluid cooler installed at that time as well as a replacement factory refurbished ford/mazda transmission (the dealership solution). I was told at that time that there shouldn't be any more problems for the life of the (new) transmission, which i took to mean that it would last about 100-120,000 miles. Well, here i am, less than 50,000 miles later and the transmission had a major failure. Without warning, the car began to make a sound i can only liken to tin cans in a tumbler. I immediately pulled over and within a few minutes, there was a puddle of transmission fluid on the ground. A good mechanic will rebuild it for $2800. That is more than half the value of the vehicle (~$5000). This defect is apparently much more than a simple matter of keeping the transmission cool, it is a systemic problem that affects the mechanicals of the transmission and has little to do with the operating temperature of the fluid. Since the warranty on the car has expired, as well as the warranty on the work the dealership did 3 years ago to repair the problem initially, i am stuck with a huge repair bill and no desire to own the car. When the repair is complete, i will be selling the car.

Mazda 3 engine mounts continue to fail, and have been replaced twice in 4 years.

I bought a brand new 2007 mazda cx7. In jan. Of 2008, my a/c stopped working and smoke was pouring out of the engine compartment. After having it towed to the mazda dealership, we were told the a/c compressor was fried. It was still under warranty at that point with approx. 25,000 miles. Around thistime we had to have all four tires replaced because they were bald. Now it is may 2009, and once again, the a/c stopped working, the car is no longer under warranty, we took it to the dealership, they told us it was the compressor again, that the part had to be ordered. They disconnected the compressor and said it was safe to drive. The next day while driving the car smoke was pouring out of the engine compartment, after pulling off of the road we tried to re start the car, that is when the belt snapped, and the car is no longer drivable. And the tires are bald again one year later.

This complaint is about part design defects for 2002 mazda mpv. Over years, i was struggling to solve engine light-on which took place every once while. Recently, the thing got worse - engine idle rough, engine lack of power, jerking at low rpm. After long time struggle, i've finally found the problem, which was caused by a pcv hose failure. I've never thought it was a pcv hose problem, because the original pcv hose (part # aj51-13-89) has been recalled by mazda and replaced by new one (part # aj51-13-89ya, it looks like revision a) back to years ago. I've thought mazda has solved the problem. Obviously, it?s not yet. This time the pcv hose has failed again, and it's so weak that the hose collapsed again under vacuum pressure. To fix the problem, i ordered a new hose, part # aj51-13-89yb. If you look at the part # carefully, you can infer that mazda has realized that their revision a hose didn't?t work, which was used to replace the original under recall # 2204h, because they have re--designed revision b hose. It?s clearly that the original hose and revision a had design defects. However, they haven?t issue a recall to replace revision a yet this time. Mazda should really recall this pcv hose again. The thing is even bad to customers. Because the design defects and uncertainty of the part make the hose really special, no retail stores carry this hose. The only place you can find it is at mazda dealership, and it costs $67, much more expensive. It?s just a rubber hose, usually a couple of dollars. I called the mazda usa, they told me since the original recall was performed on my van, i have to pay for this repair. I did some research on this issue, lot of mazda owners have this problem, and i don't know how many owners reporting this issue.http://forum.mpvclub.com/viewtopic.php?t=17546.

Starting 2006 couldn't get truck into reverse and it was hard to find third gear and would be stuck winding between gears on the road and on highway causing possibility of being struck from suddenly being unable to accelerate.dealer had car for over a week and finally ended up replacing a cable for the cost of $760.00.two weeks later the truck is popping out of third gear while driving causing the vehicle to de-accelerate quickly while struggling to find the gear or next gear.brought truck back in they said it needs a whole new transmission for $5,800.00 because it would be cheaper than taking it apart and fixing individual gears.total new value of vehicle 19,700 before taxes.kelly blue book value on this year in excellent condition only 5,700.the truck only has 57,000 miles on it now. Just made last payment two weeks before problem started.

2004 mazda rx-8 touring with 6-speed manual has a broken clutch pedal. The aluminum clutch pedal weaves left and right. It is on the verge of snapping in half. Placed the car at jax automotive while i purchase a new oem clutch pedal with reinforced brackets from race roots.

The valve stems corrode and break off, thus having to replace the entire tpms at $150 a visit. Four have broken off in the past 6 months.dealer reimbursed for last two visits.but i'm looking for a solution to the problem, and have not received any assitance from mazda corporate.

Second time replacing rotors on 2004 fwd mazda tribute. Only 61k on vehicle. First rotors replaced at 25k.

Transmission replacement on 1997, mazda 626-this will be my third transmission in four years.

Transmission problems with a code of p1744. Dealer advised to go for rebuilt one and charged me over $3000 with taxes. I think mazda should take some responsibility looking at so many other incidences that i found on the web.

I just finished paying for the second transmission in my 1998 mazda 626.the original transmission went 93,000 miles before complete failure.that unit was replaced with a used transmission and it failed at 105,000 miles.i had the second failure rebuilt at a cost of $2,100, the first used transmission cost $1,700 to replace.

2011 mazda 2 4cylinder engine . The electric power steering unit has begun to brake down. Upon ignition the is a very large grinding sound until i'm underway.the dealer says to replace unit it's over $1300.00 hardly an amount i have laying around. I've spoken with several other owners of mazda 2 cars who have had the same or similar issues.i have just over 80,000 miles on the vehicle.

I have a 19"93 mazda bought in '95.the transmission went out while under warranty in 19'96 and again in 19'97.now it's leaking again since2003.

Driver's side mirror vibrates while driving. Objects look blurry.

Mazda3 sports. 2016 car would not start, car infortainmentfrozen up would not work at all. Then the next day it may most time. Engine exhilaratedout of control while i was already breaking for a stop light the brake would not stop the car i try but my vehicle ended up going through a stop light so scary. I kept hearing metal scraping sounds still do. Well i have brought it into the dealer 3 times at on and 3 times to the place i had purchased it who refuses to service the car. So at the other dealership they keep telling they never heard of such a thing.plus others remarks that is foolish . I have paid for some of these service to be corrected. However i am very a concerned and frightened to drive this vehicle.these this have happen since nov,2017 to current last visit was on april 19, 2018. I brought the vehicle in june of 2017

My mazda tribute was recalled for stalling problems, nhtsa campaign 04v175000, mazda recall 1904d.they adjusted the program in the applicable computer.that resulted in a drop of 3 or more gallons mileage efficiency in my mileage rating.recall "fixes" should not result in a change in my vehicle's performance or on how i decided to buy my vehicle.this may require an multi-agency review, but it must be done.i find the correction unacceptable.

Vehicle sunroof failed after approximately 5-6 operations. Vehicle had approximately 68000 miles on 11/30/04 when taken to dealership for repair. Due to the minimal usage prior to failure, it was expected and requested that mazda pick up the repair expense. They diagnosed failure of the motor assembly requiring complete replacement of the system for $1678.00. Mazda has refused to pay for this.

Inner door handles broken from regular use.driver side door handles actually broke in half.passenger front door handle broke as well internally.neither door handle opens from inside.as for driver side door handle i replaced it with back passenger door handle as i did not feel i should have to pay for a defect like this.front passenger door handle remains to be fixed.we all need to call mazda and report this problem. This has been a huge problem with many of these vehicles. Mazda needs to know about it. 1800-222-5500.

I purchased a 2005 mazda tribute in july, 2005.the sticker on the car had an average mileage of 19 to 24 miles per gallon.i, to this date get 11 to 13 miles per gallon and 17-19 on the highway.i truly believe there is a problem in the fuel system or the engine.contacted mazda and was told epa was to blame and i needed to let the car get broken in.i currently have 6500 miles and still get 11-13 miles per gallon.i have a 16 gallon tank and get anywhere between 180 to 200 miles per tank.dealer says nothing wrong and hasn't replaced anything.

My mazda 3 was driving perfect. Until the otherother day. Started pulling to the right and shaking. Now not is missing motor mount pads. Using more gas...not driving correctly. Please fixm.

Thank you.

I have a mazda cx-7 2007. In the last 6 months i had to replace ac condenser twice. It locked up and started smoking. And the car was undriveable. Now they have 300 back orders for this part before i can fix my car.

Mazda had said i have water leak with caused mu bcm to short out and is causing electrical issues with my car. This apparently not covered under the warranty even though they know of the issue of water getting in through the front of the vehicles. I have read several forums and alot of people have the same issue. This is a cost of 600-800 dollars for a manufacturer defect please help.

Front spark plug blew out of the holder it was in..including the rubber gasket that held it in.

The bracket for the clutch pedal on my 2004 mazda rx-8 broke while i was driving the vehicle.over the past few weeks, the clutch would squeak a little bit while i was driving it.i noticed that the bracket was loose once, so i tightened the bolt on it, but that didn't change the squeaking.little did i know that the whole bracket was about to fail!i took a close look at the broken bracket, and it appears that a weld broke.it occurred one morning on my way to work.as i downshifted from third to second gear, i heard a 'crack' and then my clutch wouldn't work properly.i looked down, and the clutch pedal was next to (and touching) the brake pedal (it should not be that close).i was able to pull off to the side of the road without the ability to shift.now, i cannot drive the vehicle, as the clutch will not engage with the broken bracket.i believe this is a safety issue, especially in cases like mine when it happened while driving the vehicle.

The transmission on my mazda 626 1998 es (v6) is extremely defective.i'm now on my third transmission and have spent close to 1/2 the value of the car itself.both transmission faulted to the point where i could not go in reverse.in addition, my gears stick to the point where it makes the car jerk.

My car idles back and forth like someone is pressing the gas and letting off. I had it put on a computer at advanced automobile andi got a throtle position sensor , and had it put on. My car still did the same exact thing. Had it put back on the computer, and had a mass flow sensor put onit. My car still did the same thing .took car to dealer, put idle air control valve and replaced wiring to this sensor. I even put an emc from a salvage yard in my car. Still my car did the same thing . Were there any other mazdas doing the same thing? i' spent alot of moneyto try and fix my car .

Udated 01/13/10.

Car mazda 6 year 2017front forward sensing camera and check engine lights, steering wheel waring of malfunction.per mazdadealer this is a common problem they are finding all they have to do is clean front ground wire to body and remove some factory paint to have better contact.in my opinion this is a factory problem that needs to be fix.i had to pay out of pocket$270.00 to have dealer fix problem. This is a real safety issue.jose bastida7146787773

Windshield shattered all over my hand resulting in severe lacerations! this car needs looked at asap!!!! please help

2003 mazda protege radio seems to be defective. Dealer replaced radio that had a nonfunctional volume control with one that had same issue. Dealer is reordering part.

Both driver and passenger seatbelt receptacles have failed and need to be replaced. Vehicle has only 78,000k.

Transmission failure at 31,000 miles, car just passed warranty date by 2 months, dealer charged $600+ for labor, transmission was provided free, picked car up and transmission failed again.

First incident: 9/2/04: had to have transmission completely rebuilt after it failed on @ 61,360 miles. Replaced master o/h kit, torque converter, direct housing, shift kit, hub, chain, band, oil filter, oil. $ 2,062.70.

1). Three recalls on my vehicle: 1st -power train control module re-calibration recall 1904d.2nd - b4000 dpfe sensor warranty extension program special service program (ssp) 59.3rd -accelerator cable recall 2704l.completed all recalls; last on 3/2/05.2).2/2005 i started experiencing intermittent problems with my vehicle:- the car stops running usually when slowing down for a stop sign or red light.the car has stopped in the middle of traffic, in the height of rush hour. The car stopped exiting a post office backing up traffic causing motorist to seek another exit.have had various other stops but have been lucky not to cause any accidents.- the car will not start; usually upon short trips.after waiting 3 - 5 minutes have been able to start the vehicle. Have encountered this numerous times.i limit driving at night due to the unpredictability and lack of confidence in my vehicle.3)i have had my car service at oakland mazda (510)893-7282 (3/2/05-recall, 4/9/05, 4/19/05, 5/11/05, & 6/20/05) and have discussed the problem with the serv advisor, ken miller & service manager.the dealership informed me they thoroughly checked-out my car each time they serviced it. They have repeated the recall which mostly describes my symptoms (re-calibration recall 1904d) at least twice.they also contacted the mazda headquarters service center for documentation on how to check out my vehicle. I also contacted the mazda customer assistance center at (800)222-5500 in may of 2005,they told me that if necessary they could dispatch a service technicianto fly in and repair my vehicle; they also sent a report to the oakland district mgr. I contacted the mazda cust assist center again on 7/14/05 , they told me that they would not be able to help me further with my car problem.7/15- i contacted the dealership in fremont (where i bought the car) explained my problems and asked if they would consider taking a look at my car but the serv mgr never called me back.

I have had my 2001 mazda 626 for 3 years. There is only 69,000 miles on this car, and now my transmission needs to be replaced. There is an obvious problem here. Mazda should have this problem with these vehicles recalled. I do not feel that consumers should be held responsible with the expense of replacing the transmission after a car being only 4 years old.

Transmissions were a very big problem.

Transmission seized abrubtly during a highway drive at 45 mi./ hr. Locked up no reverse on my 1998 mazda 626.near accident, none resulted fortunately.this will be the second transmission in less than a year.will be taking in shop for replacement 5/24/2004.

1998 mazda 626 automatic transmission car will not go into gear, forward or reverse. The problem just started while driving at about 45 miles an hour on a smooth highway. The car had to be towed back home.

At 59,000 miles i paid for a needed, new transmission at a mazda dealer.now @ 106,000 miles it is in needed again.

At 38,800 miles, i had to replace my brakes pad and rotors, now at 49,785 i will need to replaced my rotors again.i believe these rotors are defected.please investigate this issue.

I own a 1993 mazda mx6, i have had to replace ball joints on one side of the vehicle twice and once on the other side, i went on the net and saw that there was problems with the ball joints on this model, and was trying to see if i could be reimbursed, i have the bills and dates that the repairs was done.*la

Mazda rx 8 clutch pedal assembly gone bad but warranty is expired but it has a recall on it and mazda still does not want to fix it.

I have a mazda rx8 2005. It repeatedly stalls and has needed a new engine twice in less than a year. Mazda covered the first engine but is now refusing the second. I am aware that these particular vehicles have many problems.

My 2001 mazda 626 automatic transmission has burnt-up twice with a total of 90k miles.the problem seems to be well documented with this model and i want to know what the manufacture is going to do about it.the first failure was replace by mazda and the secound appears to be my responsability even though i've only logged 50k on the replaced tranie.i have performed all the maintenance and each time i have them look for the problem the answer is always the same until it fails; it's normal for this car!the other answer is to buy the extended warranty which is a waste considering they already know of the problem and the fix.i'm tired of having to pay to fix a problem that's stranded me on the highway, caused traffic jams and towing fees and left me with a car that costs me more in repairs then it's worth.

Thank you.

Veh.was just fixed by mazda 3 weeks earlier for throttle damage cable damage/ iac valve def. &wide open "see ref #10289784 10/26/09" when same issue occured. Throttle stuck and car raced forward hitting parked car and ripping guard rail 2 ft out of ground. Car floored distance approx.15 ft. Wife was injured and taken by amb to hosp. Police/fire called by witnesses. Car taken back to same mazda dealer where they called mazda hdqtrs for help. Car sat untouched for 9 days before mazda declined to show @ dealers, telling them to total car. I got mad w/dealer and had car towed to another mazda dealer who said they would have mazda rep look into trbl. After 3 days mazda declined to come out again stating car had been totaled and would not look any further. Insurance co. Sent independent invest out who said car /scene had been disturbed and reports vary . Case appears to be comp by insurance .mazda insists that i am only person in entire u.s. To complain about this problem. Recall for exact same defect was done 2/05 and repaired, never to come back. They put back same type/model parts every time but still refused to look into failure after two mazda dealers called to report.

1997 mazda 626lx 2.0l. Had the o/d light come on twice. Then about a year later the vehicle started to shift hard/slip. Inspected valve body of the transmission & fluid, everything was ok. Did a transmission flush anyway. Did not have any codes in the system until 6 months down the line. Was for the transmission range sensor. Installed a new one & vehicle operated normal. Since i put a new range sensor in the vehicle, o/d light has come on about 5 times but no abnormal driving condition yet. Only notice it when driving on the highway with cruise control engage. Also have the vehicle rough idling. Found no vacuum leaks, pcv valve is new, spark plugs & wire set new. Fuel additive added every 6 months. Fuel injectors are operating. Ticking noise occurs every once & awhile from engine. Do know that the transmission in these cars are not capable of handle the engine. The fact that a ford probe small transmission was put into the mazda. It needs an transmission oil cooler to be install but was not a recall issue, only a bulletin that must be paid for by the customer. Exact day this started to happen is unknown.a new proper transmission should be introduce as a recall for these cars.

I own two 1998 mazda 626s.the transmission went out in the first one.i bought a replacement and installed it.at the same time, i bought another mazda 626 and my wife started driving it.each transmission had about 100, 000 miles on it.we are small business owners on a budget with a big family and very mindful of preventable maintenance and driving with integrity.to make a long story short, i am sitting here this morning with three, yes three, useless transmissions and several thousands of dollars wasted thus far.mazda needs to own up to this problem with your help!

I have a 2001 mazda 626.the over drive light began to flash, within 15 minutes i was at the dealer.i need a new transmission.my car is not showing any signs of failure.the light keeps flashing.i put an external transmission radiator and the light has not turned on.i have to replace my brakes 4 times in six months.they say it is my driving.how can this be?once it took them a week to put brake pads.that monday they said it needed rotors and did not have the parts.that friday i picked up my car and they said it did not need rotors after all!!!they rented me a car, 2 months later my credit card was charged for the weeks rental.besides this the national city mile of cars wescott mazda-kia dealer are sexist and discriminate against women.the customer service guy (tom) called me an ass and never apologized even after i told his boss.*la

I had several emmision repairs donewithin 60 highway miles on my mazda tribute 2002. Now have a complete transmission failure needa new transmission. And only have 65 000highway milage.nworsw vechile i had my vechile keep loosing power and jump into over drive suddenly onthe freeway i had to put my flassher and exited. 3 days ago

Throttle surge upon breaking caused an accident driving into wood pile damaging and ripping off ground effects right front rim and damaged valve stem also severely cracking bumper in several spots, while backing off wood pile struck and damaging rear bumper and bending right rear reflector also injured left wrist and forearm. It previously surged while wife was driving but i called her crazy!when my son also said it happened to him, i still though they may have accidently hit the gas. But when it happened to me i knew i did not hit the gas.there is something wrong when these cars are surging when trying to stop!!!!!!!and when the dealer flat bedded the car to repair it i thought, they did no repairs, just put a black box in the car .and then said just keep driving it. My wife would not drive this car any longer, not just because of safety issues but to drive this new damaged car.

My transmission onmpv mazda vanjust stopped working , once on the expressway. Once on a trip. Both cost for a tow & repair .mazda should be taking care of this problem. All of the mpvvans are having problems at low mileages. Some repair shopsarereplacing hole trans, some the coils on the trans . I feel the vans are unsafe. It happen again ,my van sitesbecause i can't keep putting good money into bad.ihope someone can please help the people and make mazda recall the transmissions and put the trans that works in the vans.thank you for your time.god bless.

Manufacturer recall number19s54nhtsa recall number19v904for the past six months manufacturer/dealer has failed to replace the abs hydraulic control each time extending the replacement schedule (i have archived all correspondence).in the interim my vehicle has been involved in two near tragic accidents due to the braking issues associated with the hydraulic control; notwithstanding, the manufacturer has refused to approve a loaner vehicle in spite of former near accidents (i have archived correspondence).the vehicle is unsafe to drive please advise!

I purchased my 1998 mazda 626lx in december 2000 with 65,000 miles on it.in july 2002 the transmission went out completely while driving up a hill at 65 mph with the cruise control on and the air conditioning turned on. The car suddenly shifted into second gear and proceeded to strip all the gears in the transmission (as i was told by the transmission repair shop) rendering my car useless for three months while i saved the money to have it repaired.i put a remanufactured one in from phoenix hard parts (never got my rebate, so don't go to them for help!). It cost me $1300 for the transmission and $1200 in labor to have it installed. Now this transmission overheats (flashing o/d light) after only an hour on the interstate!please someone look into this issue.it may not be child seats, but this is costing lots of people thousands of dollars!

Transmission went out without warning on my 2000 mazda 626 and also a few month later the motor went out too, i had to buy a new transmission and motor.

After the 1st tune up the idling is un-staedy everytime when ac is on or headlights is on with the brake apply.the idle will drop and the engine start having unusual verbration.also the transmission is slipping and chocking when the gear switch. I have an automatic transmission.

Just bought a used 96 mazda 626lx. Very well taken care of and had been checked out by a mechanic throughly. A day later it started to vibrate so we thought it was the motormount. We were wrong. So we just ignored the vibration. A few days the later it would't start up and we had to go and get the battery checked out. No problem with that. Then all of a sudden the mechanic told us to have the transmission specialist fix it b/c the fluids were black. Which they weren't when purchased. So after all this we are having to pay for a transmission. The car should be recalled and taken off the market. I think mazda needs to dosomething about this because it is damaging their reputation. And have made me decied to never buy any kind of mazda again.

Transmission on my 2002 mazda 626.it will not go forward.my mechanic has informed me that mazda is aware of this and has choose not to do anything.are they waiting for someone to loose their life before they will step up to the plate and correct their problem.

My mazda 3 was driving perfect. Until the otherother day. Started pulling to the right and shaking. Now not is missing motor mount pads. Using more gas...not driving correctly. Please fixm.

Well this is the second time i have had to replace my transmission due to poor design. This is a dangerous problem and very costly. Mazda says there is nothing wrong with there transmissions goin out every year or two. Well i am upset that neither the government nor mazda has done anything about it? just glad i will never have this problem again.

Transmission failure had to be replaced, overdrive light constantly flashing, dealers stated was oxygen sensor replaced both sensors, problem not solved, replaced transmission replaced several days later with another, first replacement was defective.*la

2002 mazda 626 with 37000 miles. Had a new transmission about aug, 2004.started having shifting problems about six months ago.nelson mazda in nashville, tn told us someone filled the fluid too high when we had our oil changed.even though it was obvious something was wrong, and we were only 2 weeks out of our warranty, they would do nothing but "adjust the fluid". This week it started shifting bad and before the day was up it would not go into reverse.we took it to a local trustworthy garage who said the trans. Fluid was "burned to a crisp"and needed a new transmission again. Nelson mazda will do nothing to help.nothing. A car should not need have a second bad transmission in 3 1/2 years and 37000 miles.

1)new car purchase aug 1997 - 5 miles;2)transmission replacement feb 1999~38,000 miles;3)transmission replacement dec 1999~57000 miles;4)informed at 130k miles that i needed another transmission ( with each transmission clearly having less than an average of 60,000 miles on it.in each case my o/d light flashed on the dashboard, immediately sending a signal to turn on the check engine light.i sent formal complaints to mazda, the dealership and since have sent complaints to the attorney general's office.i have learned of tsb # 0500502 (which you do not show on your site).yesterday (07/25/2005) i learned that there have been several consumer complaints and today i learned of nhtsa.since there are no set number of complaints needed before a recall is issued and considering the severity of this issue, why was a recall not issued?i sent a complaint letter to town north mazda (dealership where i purchased my vehicle) while looking for transmission repair facilities, i ran across this article and am out done by the blatant disloyalty and failure on the part of mazda/ford motors to stand behind its products via recall or some other means.http://www.estreetjournal.com/mazda.htm

I have to had my transmission fixed 3 times now and it is currently leaking transmission fluid even after all the work i have done to it. I own a '98 mazda 626 - there is certainly no sense in having so much trouble out of this car!*la

Why does it take between 30 - 40 minutes for the gps to finally appear??? i have a 2016 mazda 6 and the gps takes anywhere between 30 to 40 minutes to appear after startup. This could mean going to the gas station, turning it off then on it has to think where it is??? why??? this does not happen on any of my other cars that i own, why this one in particular? i have done research online and found out i am not the only one with this issue, because it is not normal. This to me sounds like grounds for a recall. Please advise.

My 2001 mazda tribute lx-v6 4wd, was recalled to replace the "rack "on the steering, this was done under warranty. Then 8,728 miles later the vehicle had to have inner and outer tie rod and ball joints replaced, at my expense. Their service department said that i probably hit a pot hole!! i feel these repairs were due to something that was done while replacing the rack. I'm the sole driver of this vehicle and it is mostly city driving or interstate...not four wheeling!!!

I am the owner of a 1995 mazda 626 and the transmission is bad in my car once again.i have replaced the transmission in this car 3 times in the previous years and i am unable to pay for another transmission.this transmission should have been recalled years ago.i purchased this car new and now i am out of 19, 500 that i paid for this car.*la

1)car was jerking, transmission was reving on my 2001 mazda2)took it took the dealer after i broke down, said the transmission was bad & needed to be replaced.3)transmission was replaced twice, but still having transmission problems.

For the fifth time in three years the transmission o/d light began to flash, within one minute the transmission when in drive would skip first gear. If you start in first gear and manually shift the car appears ok. Just out of 2 year warranty with less then 10,000 miles between last repair. Transmission shop said that because of failure history on mazda 626 and ford probes they could no longer service in good conscience. Recommended i bring to dealer. At this time i can not afford a 2500- 3000 dollar repair.

Transmission failure.

I have a 2004 mazda 6s i have had two incidents where the fuel line has detached from inside the engine and the car has stalled and gasoline has poured out from underneath the car. The first time the dealership told me that there was a recall and i should received it in the mail , i later found out there was no recall . They then fixed the car supposely and three months later it happened again.

I am complaining about the transmission.i have had 3 transmissions to my car since i bought it.i am needing a 4th transmission.shifts hard on downshifts to upshifts usually at 2nd gear.makes a humming noise to the transmission.the dealer put 2 trans. In and the same is occurring again.brakes are also messed up- squicks horrible even when i just put new ones, struts are all out, have had in my first yr of purchased, three transmissions, 1 air conditioner replaced, 1 roof liner was to short replaced, 1 recall, reverse sometimes works- you have to regear it to make sure it is on reverse-cause you don't want to go forward when you want to backwards, i have to at times put the gear in neutral to start my car- because it won't start on park at times.i am a very dissatissifed customer who will not buy another mazda car again.my car needs another transmission to it.i have proof of all work done to this lemon from the dealers.

Thank you.

Door handles on all 4 doors have broken at different times, front and back passenger door handles have broken a second time. Dealer has replaced the first time, currently driving with broken doors and no way to get out unless someone opens the door from the outside.

Transmission failure at 31,000 miles, car just passed warranty date by 2 months, dealer charged $600+ for labor, transmission was provided free, picked car up and transmission failed again.

Mazda 3 engine mounts continue to fail, and have been replaced twice in 4 years.

Mazda rx 8 clutch pedal assembly gone bad but warranty is expired but it has a recall on it and mazda still does not want to fix it.

3 days ago

The transmission on my mazda 626 1998 es (v6) is extremely defective.i'm now on my third transmission and have spent close to 1/2 the value of the car itself.both transmission faulted to the point where i could not go in reverse.in addition, my gears stick to the point where it makes the car jerk.

Transmission failure had to be replaced, overdrive light constantly flashing, dealers stated was oxygen sensor replaced both sensors, problem not solved, replaced transmission replaced several days later with another, first replacement was defective.*la

Transmission failure.

Transmission on my 2002 mazda 626.it will not go forward.my mechanic has informed me that mazda is aware of this and has choose not to do anything.are they waiting for someone to loose their life before they will step up to the plate and correct their problem.

Well this is the second time i have had to replace my transmission due to poor design. This is a dangerous problem and very costly. Mazda says there is nothing wrong with there transmissions goin out every year or two. Well i am upset that neither the government nor mazda has done anything about it? just glad i will never have this problem again.

1)car was jerking, transmission was reving on my 2001 mazda2)took it took the dealer after i broke down, said the transmission was bad & needed to be replaced.3)transmission was replaced twice, but still having transmission problems.

At 59,000 miles i paid for a needed, new transmission at a mazda dealer.now @ 106,000 miles it is in needed again.

After the 1st tune up the idling is un-staedy everytime when ac is on or headlights is on with the brake apply.the idle will drop and the engine start having unusual verbration.also the transmission is slipping and chocking when the gear switch. I have an automatic transmission.

Transmission seized abrubtly during a highway drive at 45 mi./ hr. Locked up no reverse on my 1998 mazda 626.near accident, none resulted fortunately.this will be the second transmission in less than a year.will be taking in shop for replacement 5/24/2004.

Transmission problems with a code of p1744. Dealer advised to go for rebuilt one and charged me over $3000 with taxes. I think mazda should take some responsibility looking at so many other incidences that i found on the web.

Transmission went out without warning on my 2000 mazda 626 and also a few month later the motor went out too, i had to buy a new transmission and motor.

1998 mazda 626 automatic transmission car will not go into gear, forward or reverse. The problem just started while driving at about 45 miles an hour on a smooth highway. The car had to be towed back home.

Transmissions were a very big problem.

First incident: 9/2/04: had to have transmission completely rebuilt after it failed on @ 61,360 miles. Replaced master o/h kit, torque converter, direct housing, shift kit, hub, chain, band, oil filter, oil. $ 2,062.70.

Transmission replacement on 1997, mazda 626-this will be my third transmission in four years.

Windshield shattered all over my hand resulting in severe lacerations! this car needs looked at asap!!!! please help

I am now having to put the 3rd transmission in my 99 mazda protege, the first two were at mazda expense and i feel the 3rd should be as well since this is a known problem with this vehicle and this model.

I have to had my transmission fixed 3 times now and it is currently leaking transmission fluid even after all the work i have done to it. I own a '98 mazda 626 - there is certainly no sense in having so much trouble out of this car!*la

I have a 19"93 mazda bought in '95.the transmission went out while under warranty in 19'96 and again in 19'97.now it's leaking again since2003.

Both driver and passenger seatbelt receptacles have failed and need to be replaced. Vehicle has only 78,000k.

Second time replacing rotors on 2004 fwd mazda tribute. Only 61k on vehicle. First rotors replaced at 25k.

At 38,800 miles, i had to replace my brakes pad and rotors, now at 49,785 i will need to replaced my rotors again.i believe these rotors are defected.please investigate this issue.

1.normal use of door2.tried to open door, handle broke in half, could not open door unless you rolled down window and reached out to use outside handle.

The dashboard on my 2010 mazda 6 is melting. It is becoming oily and very sticky and there is nothing on the market to alleviate the problem. Mazda says the only thing i can do is buy a new dash at $900.00. 4 year old car....not acceptable.

I own a 1993 mazda mx6, i have had to replace ball joints on one side of the vehicle twice and once on the other side, i went on the net and saw that there was problems with the ball joints on this model, and was trying to see if i could be reimbursed, i have the bills and dates that the repairs was done.*la

The valve stems corrode and break off, thus having to replace the entire tpms at $150 a visit. Four have broken off in the past 6 months.dealer reimbursed for last two visits.but i'm looking for a solution to the problem, and have not received any assitance from mazda corporate.

Driver's side mirror vibrates while driving. Objects look blurry.

Replaced 4 rims and 4 tires.chrome five star rims very defective on the mazda millenia s millennium edition.
