The contact owns a 2001 load rite five star trailer (n/a). The contact stated that while hauling the trailer at 30 mph, the wheels began to wobble. The dealer and manufacturer were contacted but the contact had not spoken to either. The trailer was not repaired. The failure mileage was not registered.

The contact owns a 2008 load rite five starr bunk trailer (na).after driving approximately three hours, the screws in the bracket that hold the bunk in place loosened.this caused the boat to lean to the left on the wheel well and damage the boat.the manufacturer has not been notified.the serial number and part number were unknown.

Load rite snowmobile trailer date of mfg august 22, 2000 failure with axle support. The welded brackets that support the frame of trailer over the axle have collapsedand shifted the axle over enough that the tire is against the frame. On june 18 2001 load rite had a recall ( nhtsa campaign # 01e03100) that sounds similar to what has happened with my trailer. Although the trailers listed in the recall are tilt style whereas mine is a drive on and off style the manufacture date falls in the time frame and the axles are the torsion style like those stated in the recall. The trailer had four snowmobiles in it as i drove down the highway and if the front axle had come loose it surely would have removed the rear axle on its way out leaving a trailer on the highway at sixty miles per hour with no axles loaded with two thousand pounds snowmobiles. Not to mention the trailer (twenty six feet long), toe vehicle, myself and family could have ended up on our side or even worse the roof.the axles that were used and recalled are more than likely the same ones used in my trailer because the manufacture dates are in the same time frame. Should the recall be extended to any trailer with torsion axles made in that time line not just the tilt style?keep in mind this trailer is only six years old and has maybe three thousand miles. I have contacted load rite and to this date they have not responded with a solution. I have included pictures, if you are unable to open please contact me through e-mail and i will resend them to you. Thank you for your time.
