I have a water leakage and it is affecting the electronics of the car..when it rains, electrical problem occurs..sometimes the car will shift to 4 wheel drive and the heater will go on and off, the radio stop working, electronic door lock will not open..acceleration and overdrive goes on..battery will go dead...

After purchasing a 2003 navigator with power running boards, i noticed that the running boards do not always deploy (ie; move out) when a door is opened.i have worked with my local dealer to get the matter resolved and the manufacturer continues to extend the date that they promise there will be a fix.i have been waiting for more than a year.the first fix date was oct'03, then nov'03,then dec '03 and now dec '04.this can be a serious safety problem is someone was to open the door and try to step out of the vehicle with nothing to step on to -- especially if you factor in the height of the vehicle.lincoln has most definately dropped the ball on this one and seems to not view the matter as a high priority.i called the lincoln customer hotline and they have not been helpful, nor have they been able to get back to me with any answer.i have been told by my dealer that lincoln has determined that the electronic "control" mechanism is defective.i am extremely dissapointed with lincoln over the matter and feel that they have abandoned purchasers of their lincoln navigator's.

#1i received a recall letter from ford in late april 2004 regard the fuel pump.i have had several problems with my 2000 cougar loosing power on incline for the past year or so.after i paid to have a new fuel pump i recieved the letter.they informed me that the new fuel pump would be out late may 2004, but i haven't heard from them as of date.#2 everytime i drive my car for about 15 minutes or more,once i turn off the car, if i try to start it within 5 to 10 minutes it will not start.i have to wait at least 15 minutes.forddealership repair cannot find a problem.

Spark plug blow out. Engine had only 84,000 miles(2000 4.6 lincoln town car) repaired at dealer ship in cordel, ga @ $287.00. They had to put a heli-coil.

While driving on the highway the car started to accelerate on it,s own and when i applied the brakes they wouldn't work. I had to get off the next exit because i didn't want anyone to get in front of me because it went all the way up to 90 mph.once i got off it still was accelerating so i drove up on the sidewalk to keep from hitting traffic at the light and got into the grass and it still was going fast and the brakes still not working i prayed and put it into neutral or i would have went right back into the traffic. Once i put it in neutral it stopped and then i put it in park and turned it off. I then turned it back on and it was idling so high and loud i turned it back off and called a tow truck. Once they arrived he stated that the linkage to the accelerator was stuck and that's is why the brakes weren't responding. He then called the dealership who stated he wasn't sure if the could look at the car or if he did when he would be able to work on it. Since then it has been sitting and i found out about all these other recalls and complaints for the very other things we been having problems with on this car. The tower also stated that he thought there was a recall for this acceleration if so i need to know this because this car needs to be fixed on the other recalls. This is the first time it did the acceleration but the foggy winshield,the seatbelts locking up on using the front seats, the suspension and brakes have been like this for a while and we were never notified about these recall so we could get them corrected. Others and myself could have been seriously hurt on that highway if i didn't stay calm through out the whole ordeal. I would like some response to what i need to do next and if this is a recall like the others can i take to the dealership and have it corrected. Right now it can be driven at all.

Door handles on lincoln mark 7+mark 8"s have broken on three of my cars and i have noticed the same problem on others several times in parking lots.

Gear shift not changing smoothly, gear difficult to get out of "park" from time to time.the transmission shift cable finally become dislodged from the shift cable bracket and the vehicle is unable to move at all (not even able to push vehicle while gear in neutral). Needing to replace shift cable and gear lever.

Headlights inadequate. Very, very dangerous to drive at night.

Windshield glare is extreme and dangerous. Dealer has no answers claims ford has none.

: suspension:front:control arm:lower ball joint.i took my car into velde lincoln mercury in peoria, ill. 7/11/03 and told them that my car was fish tailing in the front.they told me i needed new tires, they did not tell me that anything else was wrong with the car.i was getting new tires and the place where i put the tires on told me that the lower ball joint was loose.they tightened it up, i had an appointment in two days with lincoln in springfield, ill. To get it looked at.the next night the ball joint broke while i was going 50 miles an hour.i reinjured my back.

Adjustable brake pedal when in the low position, lets the gas pedal be higher than the brake pedal, when you press the brake pedal the gas pedal is pressed first and causes the car to speed up, the harder you press the brake pedal the faster the engine rpm and the brake cannot stop the car because they are antilock. This situation is such a surprise, that it takes a few seconds to decide what to do.

I have driven for realsense limousine for 2 years and am aware of 7 tire blow outs due to wear. The last incident was witnessed by a customer in which the side facing inward was so badly worn the metal radial treads were visible. On another incident a vehicle caught fire and the owner continued to place it in service with a 6"-8" hole in the drivers floorboard due to the fire.

Noticed the cars right side was making a noise but brakes and tire was fine then the right side lower ball joint stud fractured just as the recall for this model says and did not result in a crash but could have.

The 1997 lincoln continental's review mirror has been replaced three times now.it is july, 2003, and the $400.00 mirror needs to be replaced again. It's fogging up, looks like condenstation behind the glass on the mirror. Cannot see out of the mirror. Third time. This is unreasonable.

My 02 lincoln ls has had 2 new rear ends and now power steering pump and actuator is gone bad. I have a list of about 12 things that has happened to my car in last 12 months, and my car only has 27,000 miles on it. Not very happy at all. *la

While driving in to work transmission quit pulling on car stalled in middle of road. Car has less than 15,000 miles on rebuilt transmission.

Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)last year i purchased a conversion kit from suncoreindustries.com for my lincoln continental.the parts were shipped to me and i had a mechanic install the parts.the back springs operated fine however the front spring struts would 'pop' loudly when ever the steering wheel was turned.my mechanic felt that the bearings in the front spring struts were defective.also your company sent me a plastic part which was supposed to turn off the air suspension disabled light.the part was not compatible with my vehicle, so your company sent me another plastic part which was not compatible with my vehicle and your company never was able to help me get the light turned off.i called your company numerous times about my popping struts and i was finally referred to your tech department where i was told that they knew my front struts were defective because other customers had called in with the same problem.i was told to keep trying to call back until the tech department had come up with a solution.finally after several months of numerous calls, i was told that the popping problem had been solved, and that i needed to send my defective struts back and then some replacement struts would be sent to me.i could not do this, as i needed my car every day for work and could not afford to let my car sit in a shop while waiting for the struts.i called in and spoke to a lady at your company, [xxx] or [xxx] i think it was and i asked her if i could just pay for new struts and get them sent to me and then send the old struts in for a refund.nobody i talked to at your company was able to do this for me.so after trying numerous times to reach a solution with your company, i finally contacted strutmasters.com and they sent me two front struts which work great, and they sent me instructions to turn off the air suspension disabled light which worked for me. I had to pay another $140 to a mechanic to do the switch.

Failure to properly replace and install recalled fuel pump on 2000 cougar by authorized ford dealer ship. Fuel tank leaked all fuel during filling up at gas station.

1997 lincoln town car- cruise control defect causing engine fires.after first hearing of the recall i took my lincoln to suburban ford of waterford,mi.i was told they had not yet received the replacement parts yet, 2 weeks later i again went back and was told the very same thing. I waited another 2 weeks, went back to suburban ford and was told this time that the replacement parts for the recall were being recalled and i would again have to come back. I feel "this ford dealer just does not want to comply with the recall. It has now been about 9 months since the first visit and still my car has not been fixed. Can you help?

Electrical problem- windows, trunk will not go up nor down.car wouldn't cut off even when the key was taken out of the egnitionshocks and suspension-shocks are consistantly being replaced for unknowed purposes. Including the air suspension. Over heating- radiator and termostate was replaced and has gone bad within 1 week.

My 02 lincoln ls has had 2 new rear ends and now power steering pump and actuator is gone bad. I have a list of about 12 things that has happened to my car in last 12 months, and my car only has 27,000 miles on it. Not very happy at all. *la

I have a water leakage and it is affecting the electronics of the car..when it rains, electrical problem occurs..sometimes the car will shift to 4 wheel drive and the heater will go on and off, the radio stop working, electronic door lock will not open..acceleration and overdrive goes on..battery will go dead...

1997 lincoln town car- cruise control defect causing engine fires.after first hearing of the recall i took my lincoln to suburban ford of waterford,mi.i was told they had not yet received the replacement parts yet, 2 weeks later i again went back and was told the very same thing. I waited another 2 weeks, went back to suburban ford and was told this time that the replacement parts for the recall were being recalled and i would again have to come back. I feel "this ford dealer just does not want to comply with the recall. It has now been about 9 months since the first visit and still my car has not been fixed. Can you help?

I have a 2004 lincoln ls with a little over 96,000. This car has been giving problem with acceleration. When i push the gas, the car hesitate as it switch gear. I have taken to the dealership and they said, it's the transmission so i took it to a transmission shop and they said, no problem with the transmission so i took it to auto electric shop and they said, "there's nothing wrong with car" but i have still have the same problem. I am so frustrated and i will never purchase another car. Is car is a lemon.

While driving on the highway the car started to accelerate on it,s own and when i applied the brakes they wouldn't work. I had to get off the next exit because i didn't want anyone to get in front of me because it went all the way up to 90 mph.once i got off it still was accelerating so i drove up on the sidewalk to keep from hitting traffic at the light and got into the grass and it still was going fast and the brakes still not working i prayed and put it into neutral or i would have went right back into the traffic. Once i put it in neutral it stopped and then i put it in park and turned it off. I then turned it back on and it was idling so high and loud i turned it back off and called a tow truck. Once they arrived he stated that the linkage to the accelerator was stuck and that's is why the brakes weren't responding. He then called the dealership who stated he wasn't sure if the could look at the car or if he did when he would be able to work on it. Since then it has been sitting and i found out about all these other recalls and complaints for the very other things we been having problems with on this car. The tower also stated that he thought there was a recall for this acceleration if so i need to know this because this car needs to be fixed on the other recalls. This is the first time it did the acceleration but the foggy winshield,the seatbelts locking up on using the front seats, the suspension and brakes have been like this for a while and we were never notified about these recall so we could get them corrected. Others and myself could have been seriously hurt on that highway if i didn't stay calm through out the whole ordeal. I would like some response to what i need to do next and if this is a recall like the others can i take to the dealership and have it corrected. Right now it can be driven at all.

The 1997 lincoln continental's review mirror has been replaced three times now.it is july, 2003, and the $400.00 mirror needs to be replaced again. It's fogging up, looks like condenstation behind the glass on the mirror. Cannot see out of the mirror. Third time. This is unreasonable.

Windshield glare is extreme and dangerous. Dealer has no answers claims ford has none.
