Had a knapheide goose neck platform added to my 2014 f550 ford, jan 2014 which has a towing bumper rated to 12,500 lb. On october 23 rd said bumper failed completely on right side attachment and left side was able to be removed after vehicle came to rest. Losing the bumper while hauling a trailer (big tex 12 lp trailer hauling 4001 lb. Tractor) is catastrophic in that trailer brakes will not engage as break away is attached to bumper.i have had said hitch assembly reattached after strenghtening.original hitch does not have the proper support to haul trailers. The contact owns a 2003 ford f-350 equipped with knapheide truck bolts. Once the vehicle was locked, it could not be unlocked in the event that an individual locked themselves inside. The manufacturer was notified, but no solution was offered. The serial and part numbers were unknown.
