The abs and brake light keep turning on and off. This happens as soon as the car has heated up . It is not on when i first start the car it only comes on after i have drive the car for a while. This problem has progressively gotten worse. When i talked to the ford dealership, they acted as if they had never heard of any problems with the windstars abs ecm system. This seems to me to be a major safety hazard. I thought the abs breaking system was an important system on cars! doing some research i have found that it is due a defective part and ford wants to brush it under the rug. Now i know why the dealer acted as if he had never heard of the problem before. This seems to be a problem that many windstars are having and they want to ignore it. Their seems to be no concern for safety here. I only found out about this problem by going on the internet and asking what was wrong with my van. I hope ford admits to this problem and addresses it so no lives are lost due to poor brake performance!
Early generation dodge durango (98-01) has abs problems, causing abs to shut down, leaving the brake pedal very low.i have researched this to be a very common problem and the vehicle was never recalled on this.fix to problem seems to only be a complete brake system rebuild, with aftermarket parts to fix the problem and not have it return again. I have heard that some people have lost their lives due to this problem and i think it should be addressed even though these vehicles are old, they are not safe and need to be recalled for the owners and everyonesafety around them.
