The alarm goes off anytime the temperature drops below 30 degrees. This only happens if the car is locked. Keeping the car unlocked in cold weather is the only way to prevent it. The dealership said there is nothing wrong with the car. Our neighbors would disagree when it is honking away at 2 in the morning! does this happen to any other 2001 rodeo sports?
My husband and i switched vehicles and he drove my vehicle to work.when he came out of work, the vehicle would not start.i called the dealership and had it towed the next day.the problem was diagnosed as a faulty ignition switch.they replaced it a few days ago.now, it is slow to turn over or i have to turn the switch 2+ times to get it to start.i have an appointment for two days from now.looking at the envoy and trailblazer records (same vehicle as ascender), this seems to be a common problem.are there any plans for a recall?
I have had many problems with this car. 1. Servo valve 12/2005, 2. Door lock, 2005, check engine light, gas meter problems, replace gas tank 1/2008, 3. Replace alternator 9/2008, now my transmission is not working nor is my egr and evap sensor.i only have 58,000 miles on this car.also one of the oem brake pads fall out of the holding bracket and got stuck between the caliper and the rotor.nothing but problems with this suv.
Engine and engine cooling system problem.my head gasket cracked about 4 years ago and i had to have it repaired.the gauge never registered that the car was overheating.about 2 months ago, the same problem re-occurred.thus resulting in the entire engine having to be replaced.and once again, the gauge never registered that the car was running hot.the mechanic that i sent my amigo to stated that he has seen the same problem in other amigo's and that isuzu has been aware of this problem with their engines for quite sometime and have not done anything about it..
I bought my isuzu axiom in nov 2002.it has had several hazardous defects.1) in may 2005, at 60,000 miles the transmission suddenly failed while driving, causing the vehicle to slow to 20-30 mph, no longer accelerating.it was broughtto the dealership. The transmission fluid burnt up.after two transmission flushes the transmission still needed to be replaced.only after getting isuzu involved, did the dealership honor the warranty and replaced the transmission.three weeks later i received the vehicle back.the same day it suddenly slowed again, not accelerating past 20 mph and it slipped/spun accelerating from stop lights.it was immediately brought back to the dealership, the main oil seal was replaced.after that it worked with intermittent periods of slipping/spinning when accelerating.it progressively became slower to accelerate when passing, changing lanes.in sept. 05 the transmission went bad again, my vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating while going up a hill, causing a near accident with vehicles behind me.it was towedto the dealership, the transmission needed replaced again, for the third time!what good is isuzu axiom's 10 year/120,000 mile warranty if the transmission keeps going out suddenly as i drive it?the warranty won't prevent me from being in an accident the next time this happens.in addition it has experienced the following defects.2) sept. 04 the timing belt cracked at 44,000 miles, needing replaced. Per the schedule maintenance it should not need replaced until 100,000 miles.3)june 04, the low fuel light came on and the gas meter dipped to empty after just filling up.the fuel pump needed replaced.4)june 04, the check transmission light came on,it could not be duplicated at the dealer.5)march 04 and october 04 the front wheel bearings needed repacked and now need fully replaced due to barely passing sept 05 state inspection.6)the vehicle intermittently skids to stop when brakes are applied in the rain.
On july 22, 2010, i purchased a 2002 isuzu axiom for my pregnant daughter, from alam, the owner and operator of a cars 4-u, located on 3503 hillcroft street suite b, houston, texas 77057. Upon the purchase, alam, the owner and operator of a cars 4-u urged me to purchase a penn warranty, but i could not, so he purchased it. A couple of days later, i began experiencing steering problems, shifting gears, air conditioning problems, automatic door and window problems etc. He told me to have my daughter bring it in but, she refused to because he was always harassing her asking her to go out to lunch with him, so i took it back to him and he said, "that's why i told you to purchase a warranty".two hours later, he told me that the mechanics checked out the vehicle and that nothing was wrong with it. As soon as i returned home,i began experiencing the same problems. So, the next day, i took it to two other mechanics. They told me that the vehicle was having rack and pinion and transmission problems. I then contacted alam, the dealership again and told him that i had taken the vehicle to two other mechanics and told him what they said. His response was, "let the warranty take care of it".alam, the dealership took me to another one of his mechanic's that worked on all of his vehicles, whose shop located on 4208 mangum rd. Ste.8 called autotech collision executive auto, i tried to wait for them to test drive it but alam began to engage in improper conversations, and making improper bodily and hand gesters so i left. After about another week later, i called to check on the status of the vehicle, they told me thatnothing was wrong with the vehicle.
I've had to replace the catalytic converter twice on this vehicle within 3 year time frame. I contact the dealership about the defective part and was advised since i was no longer under warranty, its no their problem but mind. I advised the representative i understand that i have to pay the cost for the repairs but wanted to know was this a defective part. I also advised the representative that i notice, a lot of consumer's reported the same problem about this vehicle. She advised me since its not under warrant it's not their problem. If this has happen to more than 10 consumer's i think it is their problem, because i thing it's a defective part. Can you please help me.
I own a 1998 honda passport, i bought it in 2008, and was unaware of the rusting problem. I was told that it will not pass inspection at all because of the rust on the frame, and the axles.that the truck is not at all safe to drive because of the rust of the frame.i was also told that the gas tank is also rotting out, because there is so much rust underneath the truck on the frame.i did pay a mechanic to fix some of the frame, and axle to weld some new metal onto the frame, but that didn'thelp in the inspection process, the truck still failed to pas inspection.this truck has been sitting in my driveway for over a year now and i have no way to fix it, or drive it.
Re: 2001isuzu rodeo ls rusted frame to trail arm bracket can cause frame to snap at rear of vehicle causing possible loss of control if traveling highway speeds at 55-65 mph. This suv is worthless on the market. Isuzu should be held full accountability.also the suv has had defective fuel gauge due to defective descending unit in gas tank which no recall was never made. Yet 1 out of every 7-8isuzu have this problem.
The recalls on the rodeo isn't a help the recall i got i have to pay out of my own pocket witch i cant i'm on disability its more of the frame that is rusting out i feel that i should be able to get another frame and the company pay to have every thing put on a new frame my rear shackle pulled away form the frame witch i welded back on but its breaking away again.

Mycar faults were not fault ofroute 1/open roadisuzu norsouth nj eaton buehler/isuzu service management.their dealers worked pretty hard & were good. I have a 2003 isuzu axiom 4x4 and in march, 2014 i started having problems with the automatic transmission. And as a result i had to have it replaced. I have less then 98,000 miles on it.
I was notified of a recall on my 2003 chevrolet silverado diesel 2500hd involving the injectors. I took my truck to tracy chevrolet for the recall repair and the repairs were completed. Immediately after the repair the truck began surging at low rpms during and after coming to a stop. The problem has intensified since december and there has been no resolution to its repair. The truck has been back to the dealer 4 times and they continue to tell me that there is nothing they can do because they do not know what is wrong, all along admitting that the recall repairs induced the problem. I am not asking for much, i just want my vehicle repaired to the condition it was in prior to the recall repair. This is a big investment for me and i cannot afford to just ignore this and hope the truck will continue to function after the warranty expires. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you for your time.
I took the dealer isuzu to lemon law and i was told it works as designed. The jury was so stupid it was un believable, they all came up to my wife and i and said make sure you take the car to the dealers to get it fixed. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh isn't that why i am here in court?good luck people are stupid and we are stuck driving an unsafe care because consumer reports will not get involved. Lemon cars for sale any isuzu cheap (related vehicle information: model year=2000, make=isuzu, model=rodeo).
Car purchased 11/2002. 6 months later transmission went out, replaced. Since replacement only getting 13-15 miles to the gallon. Took car in 3 times and could not find a problem. About a month later car starting rattling, the drive train was replaced. The gear by the seat states in drive but the dash states d3 or nuetral depending if the gear is up or down. I address this problem with the shop and was told this is normal and have to make sure my dash has the correct gear and not to go by my handle on the side of seat.now today, my car starts smoking and made a rattling screaching noise and it is my air compressor. Also, the brake jump when it is wet and is very scary when i brake and i am afraid that car is not going to stop. Also, the seat belt constantly get caught under the seat and when you think you are strapped in you are not since the plactic piece catches under the seat. I found this out when i had to abruptly stop my brakes and was pushed forward, this happens on the driver and passenger side. This is very dangerous! this car is awful. I have owned 5 different cars in my life and this car is horrible. I purchased the car in november 2002 and have had less than 3 years.
I purchased my 2001 isuzu rodeo new in june of that year.in july of 2004 the air conditioning stopped working completely, along with the heater and defrost.we had the blower motor and connections replaced.in june of 2006 (less than 2 years later) the same thing happened and again we paid more than $500 to have this part replaced.we have never had to replace that particular part on any other car we have owned let alone replace it twice in two years.this is a safety hazard because it involves the defrost for the car.

I own a 2006 isuzu i 280 that has a recall on the brake light switch. The brake light switch was replaced under the recall on 5-29-07 and the new part failed on 3-26-2010.are the replacement parts supposed to fail in 3 years? do i have any legal right to have the part replaced again at no cost to me?

1999 izusu rodeo with multiple problems: ie: abs brake light won't go out.have had vehicle serviced however when coming to a stop, vehicle slides.gas gauge light won't go out...tank is full...repair price-crazy.high idle-foot on brake and vehicle lunges forward.while driving, vehicle picks up speed quickly.windshield wipers erratic-sometimes they work, sometimes they don't and sometimes they just stop right in the middle of the window.all of these are safety issues.i'm finding that some owners fell under a recall to fix these items but i don't.i don't understand that.do i have to kill or be killed first especially with the breaking issues?updated 10/23/07

I was sitting in my trooper when it just took off and rammed the car in front of me i had thought the person and back of me had hit me from behind. Well i went to court was given a ticket and had to pay for the person car to be fixed. Mean while coming out of the court and again my vehicle took very fast this time almost running over 2 peoples. I have probelm with trooper for the past two years now when it gets cold outside my truck becomes dangerous. I do not have money to replace it yet or fix it. I would hope this company and fix the probelm.
I have 2000 isuzu rodeo, and when the brakes are applied the vehicle does not stop!!the brakes have been replaced twice every year since we have owned the vehicle.we bought the vehicle new in october 2000.the brakes are constantly being adjusted almost monthly.the mechanic at "expert tire" on mcniel st, wichita falls tx. Have encountered the same problems with other isuzu rodeos and have directed us to bring the vehicle to the isuzu dealership.i can not believe that this major safety issue has not been addressed.the mechanic at expert tire believes that abs system has a recall but we have never been notified nor is it listed on theisuzu rodeo recall web site.
Why were the last two years of production(2003-2004) of these vehicles not recalled to be treated to slow rusting components in the undercarriage/frame on all isuzu rodeos, honda passports and isuzu axioms. Although a limited production, the final two years are still going to fail from salt/chemical contamination. I recently purchased a 2004. It was advertised as being from north carolina. I later discovered the owner also lived and used the vehicle for most of it's road use in new york and massachsetts. It too has had a large dose of road chemicals. The recall currently calls for isuzu to inspect and apply a rust preventive coating to slow/delay corrosion that will cause the frame to fail. Why not include all of these frames in the safety recall? the existing isuzu dealer network is exiting the automotive market. If the last two production years fail in a year or two, there will not be a dealer network that will service an isuzu product.
The event leading up to the failure of the isuzu rodeo was i was driving up my friends drive way to bring her home. The failure was "forwarding mounting point bracket for the left or right rear suspension lower link". They want to put the brackets on my car but the mechanic said that my frame gone and rusted to bad that its going to just break again. Isuzu keeps telling him that all its going to do is just break again.
Ihave met 5 people in my city whojust recently purchased an isuzuaxiomandonce the truck reached 90,000miles the transmissionstarted going out andnoises startedhappeningwith front andback end.

On june 26, 2008 " the acceleratorsticks, the tires spinning violently, smoke filling the neighboring air at the intersection, with the problem occuring in intervals, however eventually the accelerator releasing itself, but never immediatly, always gradually, well after the release of the pedal. The accelerator stuck, was a very frieghtening experice, and one neither of us had ever experienced in our combined 100 years of driving. When he was able to slowly "baby" the vehicle back to my house, he opened the hood to find the obvious problem starring him in the face. A large chunk of rubbery "goop" attached to the accelerator cable near where it exits the cable housing, and seemes to wrap around a pully type device, attached to the main engine block. Some of the material was hard and stiff, attached to the cable and pulley, and some of it was very soft, and rubbery. Upon further investigation, it became apparent that the substance was once part of a boot attached to the housing that the accelerator cable ran through, as a part of the rubber boot was still attached to the housing. After cleaning away all of the excess deteriorated material away from where it had been lodged inside the pully, the cable, and back within the cable housing, the problem was corrected for now, and plan to address the repair of the cable sometime today, i suppose at a izuzu dealership, where ever i can locate one.my confusion comes now from you. Why was i able to "google" this problem, and find a reacall of the vehicle back in 2004 for this exact, and extremly dangerous occurrance, and yet i find nothing about a recall or problem, here on your pages???. Nothing herea 1995 izuzu rodeo "boot" accelerator cable problem. I find the the "recall" clearly defined at a site called "internet autoguide" at http://www.internetautoguide.com/auto-recalls/09-int/1995/isuzu/trooper/index.html. ... I also find a recall identification numer as : recall id# 54021.

My 1999 isuzu vehicross has had cronic issues with the windows getting stuck 3/4's way and sometimes 1/2 way. I'm sure isuzu knows what i'm talking about when i say that. Anyways, the owners here need a permenant replacment part to fix this problem.

I took the dealer isuzu to lemon law and i was told it works as designed. The jury was so stupid it was un believable, they all came up to my wife and i and said make sure you take the car to the dealers to get it fixed.
I have a 2003 isuzu axiom 4x4 and in march, 2014 i started having problems with the automatic transmission. And as a result i had to have it replaced. I have less then 98,000 miles on it.
Ihave met 5 people in my city whojust recently purchased an isuzuaxiomandonce the truck reached 90,000miles the transmissionstarted going out andnoises startedhappeningwith front andback end.
Spent 2800 for new transmission.transmission replaced 2x on 2003 isuzu axiom.

On friday feb 11,2010@ 9:30 pm. I went to pick up my mom and my sister in my mom"s truck..these are the event that happen as i was driving her truck.. I was on the highway an i feltthe car swerving from side to side, i wasgoing about 60 mph so i took the first exit i saw as soonas i took the exit the car made a weird noise loud noise so i pulled over to the side so i got out the car to check the vehicle and everything looked fine so i when back in the car to move it and it made the loud noise again so i called for a towing truck to tow me home. When there got there the towing truck guys inspected the vehicle before towing it and noticed that the frames to my mother 2001 isuzu rodeo frame was rotted and the rear bar that connects to the tire to the driver side was completely snapped of i asked the tow truck driver and he said it was do to rotting and he believed it wasn't fixable he also told me that the other rear side on the passenger side is ready to snap of also. We called the dealership and they said, we never had a recall. That we had to call isuzu company .. My mom name is [xxx] and the reason we bought the car is because my mom is handicap..she has had 3 brain surg.5 aneursyms and she is paralyze from the right side , you tell what would happen if me and my mom would had gotten to accident taken her to appts, and hospital because this car company does not care to take responsible for what is known a manufacture problem.my name is [xxx] a concern son, and very angry one at that ...i know this is going fall on def ears but i guess our next step will be going to attorney if this matter is not resolved asap because my mom still has to go to her neurologist , at mass general hospital .. We are still done with my mom condition and we really depended on this car to work for us. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6).

My 1999 isuzu vehicross has had cronic issues with the windows getting stuck 3/4's way and sometimes 1/2 way. I'm sure isuzu knows what i'm talking about when i say that. Anyways, the owners here need a permenant replacment part to fix this problem.
