I own a 2004 chevy impala and the ignition fails, then you have to let the car sit at least 10 min. Then it will start. This is a problem from the factory and from what i've read this seems to be a manufacturing defect.

I have a 2000 toyota solara and i just got my brakes done and it was like i never even had them replaced there grinding my vehicle is hard to stop they squeak and now my ignition switch is broke when i purchase the vehicle they told me i had to make another key i made 2 but its the same consistent problem nobody is taking this matter serious and it really is a dangerous situation to be in especially with younger age children.

2007 jeep wrangler would no start after being parked for 2 days, waited 10 minutes and it started.same day i was driving 65 mph and it stalled/died completely with all dash light coming on.jeep was hauled by a wrecker to dealership for repair, the wrecker driver drove the jeep onto the wrecker and off the wrecker.the dealership could not duplicate the problem, they replaced the ignition switch.picked up on 7/23, vehicle was parked for a wee, 8/1-8/3, it started up and drove fine.on 8/4 parked and it wouldn't start again.waited 1 hour and it started, drove to dealership again.they couldn't duplicate the problem, so far itsits for 15 minutes after stalling, it will start.the dealership reprogrammed abs module and steering angle sensor road test, no faults and all sensors working properly.did reprogram tipm, could not duplicate stalling. Left dealership on 8/6/09, drove 2 days no problems.8/8 stalled while driving 65 mph, all dash lights came on and was still able to roll windows down.started after 5 minutes, parked for 5 hours, car started but after going 20 yds. The a/c cut off, back on and continued to do this for 30 minutes.a/c started running ok and then the jeep stalled again traveling 50 mph, no where to get off highway, parked in the road on a hill and was almost hit from behind.sheriff deputy pulled up, car started 15 minutes later and sheriff followed me home.the dealership said they don't know what to do and want me to leave it with them until they can duplicate while their.i'm afraid to drive it for fear of being rearended by another vehicle.when it stalls you can only travel a few yards and it's hard to get off the road to safety.i have read about other 2007 jeeps doing this and i truly understand the other drivers fear for their life.please investigate as soon as possible.

2005 volvo s40 faulty wire in ignition switch.car fails to start.no messages initially, then immobilizer light indicated.unsure of equipment model. Original to factory installed.

Had the ignition switch replaced on our 1998 honda accord dx in 2002 via the nhtsa# 02v120000 recall at honda dealer.recently car stalled a few times and idiscovered it was the ignition switch they replaced in 2002.i have since moved but called nearest honda dealer 60 miles away and asked if they would replace it and they refused, stating i did not have the extended warranty on vehicle.i feel since the part was on safety recall and it failed again; i should be reimbursed for the $150.00 i had to spend locally to repair problem so the vehicle could be driven safely.i also have the defective part that was replaced.thank you.

I'm having a problem with the ignition switch on my car - a 97/audi/audi a6 white rco129.the key turns too far and you have to shift it back to get the gauges/electrical accessories (wipers, air conditioner, headlights, etc.) to function properly again.could this be related to the 1994-1996 a6 recall?

I am writing to inform you of the troubles that i am having with my 2006 saturn ion.my saturn doesn't always start on the first try (radio and lights come on, but the engine does not turn over).on most mornings, whenever i try to start the car, it doesn't start and an icon showing a car with lock shows up on the dashboard.however, after waiting approximately 20 to 30 minutes, the car will start sometimes.on one occasion, i even called aaa thinking it was my battery and was informed that there is something wrong with the pass-lock system (the car thinks i am trying to steal it).on tuesday, december 28th, i took the car to north shore chevrolet of smithtown in st. James, ny and was informed that i needed to have a new ignition installed and that should solve the problem.i picked the car up on the afternoon of wednesday, december 29th and drove home.however, on thursday, december 30th, when i tried to start the car, the car wouldn't start.i tried starting the car at least 5 to 7 different times from 8 ' 10:30am but the engine wouldn't crank.finally, at around 10:45 am the car started, i waited approximately 15 minutes and drove it back to the north shore chevrolet of smithtown in st. James.the north shore chevrolet of smithtown informed me that each time they attempted to start the car, the car would start; therefore, they couldn't or wouldn't be able to diagnose the problem.i picked the car up from north shore chevrolet of smithtown on monday, january 3rd and had no problems getting to and from work on tuesday, january 4th.however, on the morning of wednesday, january 5th, the car wouldn't start, once again.

I took my 2010 chrysler town & country limited mini van to the dealer to have the ignition switch modified based on a recall notice from chrysler. When the car was returned the switch was so difficult to turn i called to complain.my husband returned with the van on 8/2/2011 and was told that was the recall repair.when my husband left the dealer the switch prevented the turn signals from functioning because it is difficult to get the switch off of the "start" position and on to the "on" position. There was also no radio function.in the "start" position this causes electrical issues with the function of the car, which the recall was suppose to fix. The dealer stated that in order to do the recall this is they way the switch has to work and that this is the way the switches are installed in the 2011 models as well.he stated that the design of the key prevents any standard type of ignition switch from being installed and that chrysler does not offer the push button ignition for this model van. I must either accept this recall repair or risk that my car may shut itself off during operation.i had the recall repair done because i began having an electrical problem with my radio going off for no apparent reason.

I was driving down a freeway w/ my 6 yr grand daughter in backseat, when all of a sudden ( no warning ) my car died.we almost were rear ended.when it died, the lights on the dash flickered on and off about 4 xs. Mech state ig switch burn out cuz 2 much amp goin thr system. Honda refused to do anything even thou ig switch was on recall but not my vin number. Several attempts/calls were made to honda-said no. The ignition switch that was taken out, well it is quite obvious there is too much of something going thru causing the melting of all the stuff i can see.i have the old switch.i had the mech give it to me.when he told me it was switch i asked if there was a recall so he checked and yes so i called honda. The woman i spoke to was very mean/snotty saying my vin was not on the list. So, i had to go ahead and pay out of my pocket at the dealership my insurance comp towed to for fixing. If honda was going to fix it, i would have had it taken on to a honda dealer.the poor ways i was treated on the phone, i don't think much of honda anymore.mech said honda has not made a switch yet that will handle the amperage that is going to it so this one will only last 4-5 years give or take.we could have been killed when the car died.

I park my car to go into a department store. When i came back out got into the car as always turned the ignition and the steering wheel lock on me. So i turned the key all the way to the left then right to turn car on but everything lock completly. The steering wheel did not move and the key would not turn, it was completly lock. I try serval times and nothing worked so i have to have my car towed to be fix. $730.00 to fix the ignition housing. This could have been a terrible if the would have decided to cut-off on me while i was driving, which it has done. Please check into the defect.

Saturn ion 2003 ignition switch and ignition cylinder bad 3 times since i bought the vehicle brand new in 2003.i have had to pay to replace the switch, at about $300., each time.no one but a gm dealer can replace this switch, which fails once the temp. Drops, because of gm not releasing the computer codes.the ignition cylinder is bad, but at a cost of $100. Just for the cylinder and another cost of $100 for the labor, i have to leave a key in the ignition at all times in the run position, so i can start my car.saturn has admitted to these being faulty parts, but refuses to recall the cars, so the consumer is forced to pay over and over again for the same repairs.

2006 saturn ion went to work car would not turn off ,key stuck in ignition unable to remove. Had to drive 35 miles home have someone get the car take to mechanic to disable as safety turnoff did not resolve issue actually got shocked trying it,took to saturn dealer in daytona bch,fl where car was purchased new was told ignition needed to be replaced as it was normal wear and tear then was informed they could not remove key so they had to break housing unit 500 + dollars later.filed complaint after several calls and being brushed ofoffered me a limited warranty oil changes, tires rotated, rental car if same problem occurs again that was less then 6 months ago,now car will not start ignition sticks with key in off position starter engages, nightmare.

I have a 2003 chevy impala and the security light keeps going on when i drive or a few minutes after sometimes it wont start too. Has new fuel pump, filter, complete tune up, everything is up to date on my car but the security light will still come on. I have heard plenty of complains and they all lead down to the " passlock system" so far no one can figure it out.they said the ignitions wire must be soldered directly to the passlock sensor? but i don't really know.

Now two days ago i get into my car turn it on an i stop at a store an go to turn off the car the key is turned completely back and won't budge so i had to pump gas with my car on anytime i went into a store had to leave my car running when i got home i called my mechanic i took the car to him an he said the key mechanism needs to be replaced he showed me a way to turn the vehicle on an off under the column but the key can not be removed from the ignition i called the dealership they want me to pay the 99 dollar diagnostic which i don't have being a single mother of two living check to check so i filed a complaint with gm all they could tell me was they would open a case an she will call me back in a week to see if i decided to get a diagnostic done on the car now when i have researched online about this issue there are other complaints of the same issue i believe they need to recall the issue i don't feel the car is safe to drive with my two kids in the car an being the key won't come out the ignition i cant lock my doors anyone can come an take whatever it is that they want.

While driving my 2003 ford expedition eddie bauer one of the eight spark plugs blew out of the engine.

99 ford expedition blew out #3 spark plug and damaged coil, no forewarning of this , has 114,000miles, cost me $400 for a temp fix,,was told this is a common problem with the 5.4 engine, garage installed a repair sleeve and special plug,,no warranty,,i was 800 miles from home, when the plug blew, i thought somebody took a shot at me...it also ruined the coil.

This will be the 4th fuel injector pump installed on my vehicle. Twice it quit while traveling more than 50 mph on major highways. This causes all lost of power to the steering and braking. The company has replaced it free until now. The vehicle had to be towed all 3 times. This appears to be a problem with these pumps that the company willnot talk about.
