Srs internal unit failure at 79k miles.car is 2005 honda civic and according to google searches and civic forums this is a known problem with honda vehicles (not just civics) and honda quotes a $800+ price to repair rather than standing by their vehicles.with the srs light on, the airbags do not work, car cannot by smogged, and is a serious hazard to the drive and occupants until the expensive repair is made.called honda customer service and was told they would not lessen the cost, nor help cover the repair in any way.
I own a 2008 honda accord ex-l that was subject to 3 recalls. Takiata airbag inflator, a airbag control that tells the bag when to deploy, and a full nose mask. The first dealership refused to do the work in a timely manner nor would they authorize the use of their loaner car over 100 miles, i live 50 miles away and had to return home to pick up kids from school, so we worked with honda after being belittled at brown honda to find a new dealership to have repairs done, we were informed bender honda in clovis was closest and went there 156 miles from home at that dealership the recalls were fixed but as soon as i got my car back it had all my drs lights on they were not on when we got there. They said my seat belt failed and it would cost around $100 for the part plus labor and that with out it the airbag won't deploy. I feel that since this is a sensor for the srs system it should be fixed by them it makes my car as dangerous as it was befor with no airbag at all i also believe that since it was damaged at their authorized dealer that it should be repaired by the manufacturer. I've talked with honda of america countless times about it and they are less than helpful or friendly and have stopped taking my calls. I feel as though honda fixed the recal by just unhooking it and is now blaming anouther peice that should be covered for the life of the car seat bots and any part of the airbag system so long as it has not been involved in an accident which mine has not. Ifeel like honda knowingly does this as i have found hundreds of reports of this happening after this work is preformed. All the reports i've seem all involve "passenger airbag off light cycling from no light on to blinking light to always on randomly as well as thepassenger airbag off light above the hazards blinking or just showing airbag off when someone is in the seat. I wish that i did not have to report this i've tried to come to a solution with them to no availe thank you for your time

I have a 2013 honda odyssey with a problem in the wireless accelerator system.the system sporadically does not respond when the accelerator is pressed, causing the car to "stall" when you expect it to respond.this is very dangerous at intersections or when attempting to pass another vehicle.this has happened to me 3 times in the past 2 days after not showing up for a couple of months.i was told by the honda service representative that this is normal for this system and cannot be fixed.
The ignition switch and key sometimes gets very hot . There doesn't appear to be a pattern to the heating but it does happen about 20-30% of the time. I have measured the temp increase and the key has been as hot as 114 degrees.
To whom it may concern, the 2016 honda hrv key fob is faulty. The key fob began having issues several months ago, unfortunately only getting worse. The fob began not connecting to the vehicles door then got much worse by displaying an icon on the dashboard and now not starting the vehicle at all. I have replaced the batteries in the fob but unfortunately this does not rectify the issue. I have been stranded twice now. Very dangerous. The issue seems to be quite common among other owners. I have an appointment tomorrow morning to officially diagnose.thank you for your time.

Sept 22,2016 in st. Johns, florida my 2008 acura mdx (138,000 miles) shut down and became inoperable as i was accelerating on the i-95 sb on ramp from cr 210. Power steering, hazard lights, everything was inoperable.i manually unlocked the driver door, but the door would not open.i then manually unlocked the passenger door and it would not open.i tried the same thing on a passenger door.i was essentially locked in my car in 88 degree weather.i continued to try the doors but after 3-4 minutes, the car was heating up and i was still locked in.called 911 and a k-9 patrol pulled behind me after 4-5 minutes.the officer pulled on the driver handle, but the door still remained locked.together we pulled handles and i kept manipulating the manual door lock.after a minute or so, the door opened!i exited the vehicle onto the on-ramp and attempted to close the door with a magazine propped in it to keep it from re-locking.i failed at that attempt and the door shut and relocked.we could peer into the car and see that the manual locks were indeed in the unlocked position, but none of the doors would open. Tow truck on scene attempted to pull the handle using a door opening device,so that he could pop the hood and see what was going on.after 30-40 minutes of pulling on the door handles, the driver door opened. Tow truck operator discovered the battery was disconnected.he reconnected it and the car, and the locks, all worked. Local acura dealer tried to replicate the unresponsive manual locking mechanisms but could not. Corporate acura/honda case worker said there is nothing they can do for me.in 2013, the owner of a 2007 mdx from aurora illinois had the same thing happen after a faulty battery connection disconnected while the car was in motion. Manual door locks failed.corporate acura said they have no record of that incident or any others of similar nature.there is something wrong with my car and i fear it will lock me in again.
I ordered driver side and passenger side valucraft ball joint (part number:vfa2084) from autozone.com for my car ,1997 honda civic dx 2 dr coupe on 5/29/2016. The ball joints were installed on both sides and ran fine until on 4/21/2017 between 10-11pm passengerside valucraft ball joint broke off between stud and ball while i was making leftturn without any warning signs. Passenger side cv axle was pulled out oftransmission and broke apart at inner boot area. About 2/3 of transmission fluidleaked out. Passenger side wheel fell inward. The car?s body around passenger sidewheel area was damaged. My car couldn?t be moved and had to be towed. Fortunately, it happened on local road and no other cars around, otherwise i could have been seriously injured.
2009 honda accord exl 4-door in excellent shape with ~100k miles. One of the torsion spring rods attached to the trunk lid broke apart. My daughter said it sounded like an explosion in the trunk. The spring will be replaced. These springs are under tremendous stress and a failure like this should never happen as the risk of serious injury if it happened while opening the trunk could be great. A very frightening incident for my daughter while she was driving. I've ordered the parts and a special tool and i will replace both springs. No evidence of a defect was spotted.
I have a big concern about non uniformity of steering wheel controls. In 1975, all motorcycles imported into the us had to have left foot shift, right foot brake, right hand front brake, left hand clutch controls. This same philosophy needs to be applied to automobile steering wheel controls. My work has me in a different make/model rental vehicle, almost every week.i spend a lot of time when i get in almost every one of those vehicles, with my eyes off the road, trying to figure out where the steering wheel buttons are located, and what their functions are. It takes me a couple of days to relearn each car. Why can't these controls be standardized across all makes/models? the manufacturers have many controls that are similar, but just in different locations. This should be an easy fix for all makes. What can be done to make this a requirement for all new cars? my wife complains about the same thing, when she drives my honda, rather than her mercedes benz. Many people would also agree, and it would make cars much safer. Sincerely, dlc.
