Masei atomic man helmet. Labeled and sold at dot approved. Lawyer indicates that there are no records of this being the case. My research indicates that it is not dot approved, and that themanufacturer made in checked changes but still sold it as dot approved. I have sustained permanent diagnosed debilitating brain damage from it.

The chin bar latching mechanism of the hjc symax ii motorcycle helmet is defective. The attachment points are not sufficient to hold the mechanism in place without breaking off during normal use. The attachment points fail causing the chin bar to latch shut and not able to be opened without using force. In the event of an accident this may prevent emergency responders from being able to access the airway of a rider wearing this helmet. The manufacturer has refused to acknowledge the problem or take corrective action even though many consumers have notified them of the latch mechanism failures.

A 6 month old sy-maxii motorcycle helmet, manufactured by hjc became difficult to remove.the chin bar was loose on one side and the other wouldn't release.the helmet was not damaged due to impact or misuse.once remove, i found that the locking mechanism on the right side was not attached to the helmet.the mounting points had broken.with one side loose, the other would not release.there are three concerns:1.with one side of the helmet chin bar loose, the other could also fail leading to it raising into the rider's sight line and blinding him while in motion.2.if there were an accident, the chin bar was not durable enough to provide any protection.3since the helmet was difficult to remove, it could prove to be a hazard if one were in an accident and medical treatment were necessary.this is a dangerous situation and these helmets should be recalled.
