Consumer writes in regards to motorcycle helmet recall and not receiving refund after returning the motorcycle helmet.the consumer referenced recall # 14e069000.
The contact owns a hawk gld-900 series helmet. The contact received a notification for nhtsa campaign number 14e069000 (equipment) a month ago. The contact returned the hawk gld-900 series helmet as requested on the recall letter, however the manufacturer failed to provide a reimbursement. The contact mentioned that several messages were left to the manufacturer requesting the reimbursement but the contact did not receive a response.
The contact owns a hawk, model number: gld 900 series helmet. The contact stated that while the driver was driving a go cart at 45 mph, the vehicle began to slide. As a result, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall. However, the helmet fractured causing injuries to the right side of the driver's face. The driver required medical attention at the scene of the crash. A police report was not filed. The helmet was included in nhtsa campaign number: 14e069000 (equipment). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.
Helmet hawk gld-900 was recalled due to federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 218. I have returned the helmet in question and tegol, inc. Hasn't refunded the purchase price. It has been well over 7 to 8 weeks since the helmet was sent using the return label i down loaded from tegol, inc. As requested.can you help me get my refund so i can purchase another motor cycle helmet for the summer of 2015.
14e069000 recall for hawk gld-900 helmets,bought it a year ago not knowing of the recall, emailed manufacturer but no response to emails or phone calls!
