Haul master weight-distributing hitch.the product requires the chains to be permanently attached at the bottom using u-bolts, and then adjusted using the brackets and adjustment lever at the top of the chains.the product notes that adjustments need to be made with any change of trailer or load.if the device is improperly adjusted an unsafe driving condition can result, including excessive sway when towing.the chains included with the product only fit the attachment point at the top with the first link, but not with any other links.there is a lot of comments in the reviews that this is pretty common with this particular product.when i request customer service to send the proper chains so that i could make adjustments, they told me to do the adjustment procedure by adjusting the bottom link instead of the top, and then to permanently tighten the u-bolts.when i explained that adjustments need to be made for different loads or different trailers, their only response was to send it back for a refund.it's clear that they either don't realize the problem or they don't care.if someone follows this advice, they will set up the hitch with an empty trailer and it should be fine.then when they put a load into the trailer, the setup could be pretty far off and result in unintentional and excessive sway that may come as a surprise when changing lanes on the hiway, for example.i have emails from harbor freight telling me to do this.there is an online video of someone showing how to install the device, and they have the same issue and wind up buying new chains.harbor freight item # 61720.not only are they shipping this product with incorrect chains, but they then provide unsafe advice when someone complains.note that the 'model' section of the web form won't let me go on without selecting one and this model isn't listed. Also no way to select 'chains' under components.disregard selection.
