The new 110 cubic inch screaming eagle harley davidson enginenomal riding conditions cylinder head gasket leaking oil down back of cylinder as well as front cylinder in for second repair for same issue, engine has knocking sound also.
(odometer reading 1627.i have a 2005 flhrci (road king classic) which had been involved in an accident and had undergone frame replacement and front end repair/replacement in january 2006. I have had my bike back to carolina h-d several times since the accident to investigate an unusual sound coming from the rear wheel but they could never find anything. So, after going over the possibility of the heat shield ,maybe causing the noise, i decided to go ahead and have aftermarket pipes put on my bike and also have it deniedat carolina h-d.ow my bike has slightly over 3600 miles on it. Most people would say it is barely broken in. Expecting to get a call to pick up my bike, i got a call telling me that my secondary belt on my road king had broken just as they had finished the dyno testing. What surprised me more than anything was that i was to pay for the costs of the new belt! these belts should last longer than 3600 mi. I knew an old guy that had an '84 shovelhead and the belt on that bike had over 40k on it. Seems like the belt should have gotten replaced when the bike was damaged from the accident and just got missed or the belt is just defective. If harley is going to start being this cheaply made, then i am going to switch back to bmw. I am thoroughly disgusted!
I have a harley davidson (hd) premium oil cooler kit part number (p/n) 62868-99 that was installed new on my 2000 flhr road king.in june 2009 the motorcycle (bike) developed an engine oil leak.cycle city, the local hd dealership, was contacted and an appointment scheduled to have repair kit p/n 94239 installed on july 21, 2009 under hd recall code 0109.because i didn't want to ride the bike with the oil leak and to determine the source of the leak, i replaced the two original cooler hoses and found the longer hose abraded where it rubbed against the engine crankcase before connecting to the cooler.the hoses were not the cause of the oil leak, but had the original hose been left on the motorcycle, it would have eventually abraded through causing a pressurized oil leak.when the bike was taken in for the recall repair, i saw that the replacement hoses in the repair kit were too short to replace the original ones and the work was not performed.i found out the kit had been updated from p/n 62868-99 to 62868-99b with an oil filter adapter to re-route the oil hoses.i showed the original hose (that i still have) to the service writer and he agreed that it would have eventually abraded through.because of this fact, i feel that in the interest of rider safety hd p/n 62868-99 should also be included in a hd recall, possibly with the inclusion of the oil cooler adapter, p/n 94239 and the original hoses to eliminate routing the hoses next to and against the crankcase.this defect, if left unchecked, would cause the pressurized loss of engine oil that could cause the loss of traction, possibly without warning, and could cause injury or death and/or damage to the engine.the manufacturer was informed of the defect on july 28, 2009 via e-mail and responded by stating that the information would be forwarded to the technical service department for review.no response has been received to date.
I am sick of the helmet laws that are not enforceable.
There is a company selling a brake modification that i believe to be extremely dangerous. Http://www.tractioncontrolsystems.com/ is the website. I believe this product should be banned, it is unsafe in my opinion. It appears the manufacturer is tcb brake systems at http://www.tcbbrakesystems.com .

There is proof that motorcycle helmets cause accidents due to fatigue.please reverse the laws in the states that force motorcycle helmets and write a law that requires motorcyle safety courses before people can have motorcycle licenses.
