After-market (lug centric !! - not hub centric as are the oem wheels) wheels sold & installed by discount tires inc in reno, nv several years ago...the lug-bolts furnished, made by gorilla automotive products (p.o. Box 58747 los angeles, ca 90058-0747) have on 4 different occasions, including once while driving on the highway requiring tow truck retrieve, broken, always properly torqued at 85 ftlbs, 3 times while being torqued andthe one time on the road.i have reported it each time to the discount tire dealer(s) - reno and carson city and to their superior, [xxx], in his las vagas office, [xxx] never returned my calls (2) the message was left with his "phone-lady".in carson, [xxx], the manager, said that he would speak with [xxx] about the problem and he simply gave me more of the "problem" lug-bolts, some of which eventually failed while being properly torqued.he said that no-one else has had this experience.the (m.b. E320, 2000) "factory" hub-centric wheels are secured with very high quality, probably forged, steel lug-bolts.the quality of material, probably cast steel, is clearly inferior to the o.e.m..this is a very dangerous situation and i get the impression that discount tire co.
