This is the worst car (lemon) i have ever had. I bought this car from a used car dealer ship called new car alternative in livonia mi. I am now on my third engine in the car. The first 2 failed due to the head gaskets blowing and anti-freeze was mixing with oil in the engine causing engine failure. All car window motors have be replaced 4 or 5 times each and still don't work. Back two doors are broke one wont open the other wont close.the sunroof wont close the dealer told me 1500 to replace motor and put back on tracks. Lol i have the brakes replaced 3 times in 5 years. I bought the car dec of 99 and have had all these problems since. I don't recommend anyone to buy a grand am or a car from this dealership they were no help at all. The first engine was covered by warranty second one was at my cost of 3500. Then another 1500 for new radiator and heater core. Then alternator needed to be replaced. After that i needed a new transmission hose. This is such bull crap. What a lemon! plus i was pulling out of a gas station one day and my air bag decided to come out on it own no accident occurred and hit me in the face resulting in injuries and i had to go to the hospital.
When slowing down to a stop, or turning the car loses complete power.no dash signs are shown during this process.starts up immediately if heat/defrost is not turned on or is turned off, let the car sit for a minute. This happens when defrost or heat is used or not used only happens in the winter when temp. Falls below 40 degrees. Every time i turn on the car.in the summer and spring if it rains the car loses power when there is any amount of water on the road, does not have to be standing water on the roadnew fuel pump, steering cylinder, clutch has been cleaned several times, battery and alternator have been replaced, hooked up to all electrical machines at several dealers and nothing shows a defectthis has been happening for 2 years after the car hit 60,000 miles.
Our 2001 oldsmobile silhouette has had numerous issues.the issues are placed in a close chronological order.all events have occurred after 50k miles with the exception of the power door locks.the dealer took care of all recalls.the power door locks intermittently lock and unlock.this problem has been to the dealer over 4 times.the first time the dealer replaced ignition switch wiring harness and the last time the dealer replaced a chafed wire under the passenger seat.the other times the dealer could not isolate.the problem still occurred.we got tired of bringing it to the dealer.the drivers side seat heater had failed.at 66k miles, the transmission went out.it was due to a faulty sun gear.i had to replace tie rods on the vehicle twice on each side.once around 70k and once around 115k.the fuel ascending unit failed around 90k.on the passenger side i had to replace the wheel bearings and the cv axle.lights in the heater controls have blown and the only way to replace them is to solder new bulbs onto the control module.the blower motor failed on 1st and 2nd speed.we experienced the same engine overheating issues as seen by other individuals at mycarstats.com.this relates to the cooling system.i had three separate issues stemming from this.the first failure was a blown head gasket.about 8 months later the upper manifold gasket blew.six months later another cooling system failure blamed on the lower intake manifold.many of the repairs where costly.the lower intake manifold failure was never fixed.we decided to pass this gm piece of junk on.it had 137k miles.most of the miles driven where highway, very few city and stop-and-go.

I purchased a new 2007 cobalt on 8/1/07.i could not start the car at night on two occasions when i was trying to go to work as a nurse and thethird time the car would not turn off .it kept running and was towed.
My 2004 yukon the panel with the speed control started disappearing. Then it would come back on then disappear again. Now it don't work at all. I cant tell the gas amount, speed or miles. The stability light use to come on.
Engine shutdown with the a/c on when the engine in idle or at the traffic light, computer test done 3 times no defect found, and what will happen if the engine shutdown when i am driving in a heavy traffic?
Air conditioner loud noise while on, abs rattling when stopping in non wet weather.popping while turning right.headlamps don't always turn on when switch is engaged.engine noise as if something is wrong with lifters.

I have had many problems over the years with my 1995 grand prix se, 6 cyl, 3.1l engine. I saw the 35 plus service bulletins and i can personally relate to these problems. My question is. I have lived in the same place since i bought the car from ferguson pontiac, paid cash, and have not received a recall or bulletin on this car.are they still liable since i have had to deal with these problems on my own and have become frustrated with this pontiac, my opinion i would not buy another pontiac. But, where does the responsibility end with the dealership?can i call them and print out these listings?are they still liable to replace or repair?

Carbon monoxide leakage into cab of 1998 ford ranger caused severe sleepiness while driving to and from work and while at home.each day for about a month i was experiencing dizziness, sleepiness and nausea.i had a small accident when i feel asleep while stopping for a red traffic light and ran into the back of another vehicle.i reported my dizziness and sleepiness to my supervisor who notified our medical department and they sent me home. I had a medical stress test performed; it was ok', a sleep study performed and the cardiologist increased my dosage of a beta blocker.i was finally released to return to work two months later.i had taken my vehicle to my local ford dealer shortly after i was sent home and they reported there was no co leaking into my cab.i tried discussing my problem with the ford motor company's customer service department a couple of times, but they said the service technician could find nothing wrong and that's all they could do for the carbon monoxide was entering into my cab from the exhaust of other vehicles on the road.i finally found and bought a digital carbon monoxide detector which would read any level of co detected.the first day i drove to work it indicated 18 ppm co poison and another 16 ppm co poison on the drive home after work which totaled around 34 ppm per day for over a month.i immediately went to my doctor and requested a blood gas test which indicated a high level of co in my blood.it was confirmed by the pulmonary doctor that the sleepiness was caused by co poisoning entering the cab of my truck.my truck is now parked in my drive way and has not been driven for over three months.

There has been a failure to the fuel system several different occasions. Fuel regulator has been replaced 3 different times. A fuel pump was purchased 300$to replace old one. The right tail light has been bogging on and off almost caused several different accidents. I would like to know if i can sell this vehicle or get what i paid for it atleast? i shall take further legal action until something is done.
1998 gmc sierra 1500 ext. Cab truck. Purchased used on 6/03/08.odometer read 96,921miles.less than 24 hours after purchase i noticed what felt like a slipping in the transmission going from 1st to 2nd, and 2nd to 3rd, under 15 mph when the engine was warm. I mentioned this to the dealer, who had agreed to reimburse me for partial costs to have all the fluids flushed and filled with clean fluid at the recommendation of my regular shop, where i had taken the truck for inspection 12 hours after purchase. At this time i noticed the drivers side door handle was cracked into the lock area. I asked the service shop (dixieland tire) for a quote on repair, the manager told me, "that is a common gmc problem, the parts dept stocks about a dozen of those and i've replaced at least 18 in the past years.".the part cost $61.50 plus tax at 6.5%, and labor of $97.50. The transmission flush cost $109.95 for the supreme service. Less than two days later, the check engine light came on, and the code for it came up as p1870, transmission. The tech noticed the slip. I was referred to a trans shop since my service shop doesn't have capability to repair trans. At this time i notified used car dealer washington auto sales that i was going to have the trans checked and reminded him that i had noticed the slip less than 24 hrs. After purchase. I asked if he could help me with potential costs he said it depended on what the results were of the inspection scheduled for 6-24-08. I would like to file for reimbursement of the door handle, which is a well-known defect.
Left front brake pads rub against something , causing rotor to warp and doing other damage to braking system.
Two of my chevy prizm front door latches have failed and no longer open from the insided of the vehicle. This failure has happened over the last two years , starting with intermitent problems that led to breaking the inside plastic door handles several times from repetatively trying to open the door ,when the latch failed to work properly. I have had to roll my window down to get out of the car for the last year. Took my prizm to a repair shop that said door latch worn out needs replacing. I have read that several other owners are having simular problems with their prizm's. This is a definte safety hazzard , plastic parts with a failed door latch that traps the occupant in side the car. The plastic door handles inside and out have now failed on the drivers door, i replaced the outside and inside plastic handle and lubricated the door latch mechanism. Door still will not open from inside on either driver or passanger side door. Once again these failures appear very dangerous to occupants of these vehicles. Someone may want to rethink allowing plastic in something as critical as a door handle that may be needed to escape from the vehicle in an emergency. It seems that most of the older vehicles with plastic handles on the road can be spotted with broken handles or have had them fixed. *ln
Safty locks on doors don't work for 2008 yukon and dealer replaced 3 and now the 4 is no good and gm said it won't replace acuator lock. Dealer said they have replaced about 80 of these on yokon in 6 months. Can not open and lock doors from out side on vechicle. Child is unsafe in back seat of car and gm has done nothing.
2008 gmc sierra 1500 power door locks all failed.
The third door handle has broken twice in one week , all under normal operation, part was replaced but broke instantly.

Inside door handles are peeling on driver and passenger side doors.as driver or passenger get out of the vehicle the ridged plastic begins to cut the skin in a paper cut fashion.this issue started o/a 1.5 years after purchase of vehicle (depending on use).parts were replaced at the dealership at customersexpense.old parts are maintained at the dealership.
The left rear window mechanism failed while attempting to raise the window.this mechanism was replaced a year ago.
My car had been having trouble starting up previously. It was slow to start up and i thought it was my battery dying again. On december 2004 when i went to start my car it refused to start. We called for a boost, and the aaa driver told us it wasn't our battery but our fuel pump. However, since it was a 2001 car we didn't believe it. When we asked various mechanics about the cost of fixing the fuel pump on our cavalier they said it couldn't be the problem since it was so new. However, it was. This caused me and my family excessive trouble in having to deal with the loss of the car for the few days it took to get it repaired. We eventually had to shell out nearly$640 to fix it. We had to get a whole new fuel pump and have it installed. I do not have the original gas pump. The mechanic said, "won't start, would not jump start. Ck fuel and ignition systems and found no fuel pressure. Ck fuel system wiring. R&r fuel tank and replace faulty fuel pump. Install new fuel filter."
After pulling into the parking lot of work, i was getting out of the vehicle and the spring that was attached to the truck door just fell off and on the ground. Now, as the time is passingthe interior light doesn't work and the electrical panel on the driver's door is getting worse. I can only lock the driver's door from the outside and the alarm goes off everytime i open the door. I have to keep slamming it to make the door completely close. I haven't been to anyone yet because i believe this will be a big expense.
Tailgate latches on 2004 gmc envoy xuv keep breaking repeatedly.unable to open rear of vehicle.parts have been replaced a number of times and they stop working over and over.if my kids get in the back and get stuck there is no way out the back of the vehicle.
The handles on both sides of the seat broke very shortly after we purchased the vehicle. Also the third door handle has been replaced by us already and is broken again, also the third door bracket at the top my husband had to weld because we could not find one this bracket broke and the door flew open while he was driving.the spring in the hinge door broke off and now the drivers side door is not opening properly. We have had problems with this ever since we bought it.
Replaced fuel pump twice within the last 3 yrs. Steering component three times. Fuel tank once. Makes noise when turning from power steering leak, and also has oil leak. The car only has 93,000 miles. Only four years old. 01 cavalier bought from terry lee chevy. This car sucks!!!never buy again!!!! nothing was done to fix half the stuff wrong. Tlc sucks. Oh yeah i forgot the sending unit will be replaced for the second time inn three years.
Air conditioner loud noise while on, abs rattling when stopping in non wet weather.popping while turning right.headlamps don't always turn on when switch is engaged.engine noise as if something is wrong with lifters.
Brakes failed at low speed and hit the car in front of me at stop light.pushed brakes to the floor and seemed to pick up speed.air bag did not deploy.totaled the other car. Went right up on top of his back end.it cost me 200.00 to fix my yukon.had already replace abs system about 8 years ago.the back windsheild shattered one day when i got into the drivers seat.the windsheild wipers had serious problem.replaced the computer part twice.

Driver's door electric door lock actuator failed and left door completely disabled. Unable to manually release, key fob non-functional, door key would not unlock the door. Locksmith was forced to disconnect the actuator through window channel by forcing attached rod out of actuator. The passengers side door lock also became inoperable (locking portion) when the drivers door failed.factory service shop tested both actuators and has determined they are defective. I understand that parts fail but something should be done to insure that if the actuator fails it reverts to the unlocked position.
My 2004 yukon the panel with the speed control started disappearing. Then it would come back on then disappear again. Now it don't work at all. I cant tell the gas amount, speed or miles. The stability light use to come on.
On 12/21/04 i brought my 1997 corvette to the dealership to get serviced for the "#4006 electronic column lock system" recall.last thursday (8/11/05) my vehicle's steering lockup up while moving out of my parking spot.it was towed in to byers dublin chevrolet dealership (614-793-4800) the next day.i was told that this was not covered by this recall and that i needed to purchase another steering lock actuator for $475.i have read on various newsgroups that this type of lockup can happen over and over again if the lock plate is still in place.i have requested to the dealership to just remove this lock pin and i would be happy to pay for their labor to do so, but they refuse to do it.i've talked to chevrolet corporate (ticket # 1-355691956) and they still refuse to put in a bypass or to remove this lock altogether.can you give me some advise on how to resolve this so that i am not driving around in a car that could have the steering column lock up at any given time?it is a hazard for me and a liability to chevrolet.thanks,-kevin.
The rear hatch on my gmc denali will not unlock and therefore cannot be opened. I have done some research, there is no manual release on the inside, and there is no key lock on the outside. In addition to being an inconvenience in terms of a repair, i would suggest to you that this could be dangerous for anyone trapped in the rear of the vehicle with no possible method of egress. If the forward part of the vehicle was not an option, (fire etc) passengers it the third seat would be trapped. I'm surprised that there have been no recalls or government involvement, perhaps someone has to be injured or die before gm might make a change.
My 2001 camaro with less than 37k miles was taken to the dealership for new brakes. No reason i took car to dealership other than i wanted new brakes though nothing squeaked &i had no trouble.i did not expect to be told i needed new rotors as the dealership informed me the current rotors were too thin and i needed to replace them as well as the pads and brake linings. I was stunned as the car is hardly driven but a mere 8 miles round trip to work & backthe last two years.i would have thought the other california dealership car was taken too just 7 months prior for brake inspection at 33,713would have advised of impending issue?in reviewing the brake inspection paperwork dated 7/24/05iclearly noticed the techs lack of attention to even filling in the proper boxes ie: brake linings.the $1100 spent to fix problem is not an issue.its the safety issue! love the car & have had 3 (95,97 & 2001) but am leary to drive it with what appears to be an engineering problem with rotor/pads and gm is ignoring it?ford ignored their problems with tires for years and how many people died?
1999 chevrolet tahoe tailgate cable failed, and also considerable driveline lash.
I purchased a new 2007 cobalt on 8/1/07.i could not start the car at night on two occasions when i was trying to go to work as a nurse and thethird time the car would not turn off .it kept running and was towed.
Engine shutdown with the a/c on when the engine in idle or at the traffic light, computer test done 3 times no defect found, and what will happen if the engine shutdown when i am driving in a heavy traffic?
Chrome plated door handle on 2007 chevy cobalt.the chrome has come off and sliced opened my hand.you are taking to long to force gm to recall vehicles with bad handles.you are already investigating the 2007 tahoe for the same problem.now that we are all part owner of gm and taxpayers keep nhtsa running, stop taking so long with the "red tape" and do the right thing.
The trunk door on my 2016 buick enclave did not stop coming down when it had an obstruction (handle of a shovel) in the trunk door path. The force of the trunk door closingbroke the actuator rod in the door instead of stopping or lifting back up.this is the part that auto closes or responds to the trunk liftgate and close.i shutter to think if a child or adult was in the path of the trunk what would have happened.
I bought a 2011 black slt terrain 4/11/11 and has had problems with the noise it makes along with the amount of gas it takes and uses which does not add up to what they are stating when promoting this vehicle.it also is very fragile.you can not lean, fall, or close the doors to hard or it will cave in or dent.i really expected this vehicle to be excellent in and out only to now want to trade it in for a buick lacrosse or lacern.my terrain has 5,100 miles on it.i believed iwas purchasing a top of the line vehicle with all the bells and whistles and ended up paying for a lemon with no seeds inside.
051406 driving 35 mph when check engine light came on when car lost all acceleration . Car was going downhill and i barely managed to brake and steer it clear into a lot. Towed to dealer.49,000 miles.fuel pump needs replacement which i found was way too soon.cost $1300.complaint is too soon for a replacement and more important was the heavy non responding steering and non responding braking.very very lucky other cars were clear.
We own two chevrolet 4 x4 z 71 pickups and have had inside door handle failures repeatedly on both vehicles.twice in the last week we have been trapped inside the vehicle because we have electric windows and the keys were not in the vehicle.the doors cannot be opened from the inside!we have replaced these door handles on both pickups at least 3 times and the new handles do not last more than 2-3 weeks!these handles are expensive and fail soon after replacement.in the event of a fire or accident this could be fatal.
About two years ago while i was trying to close the glass rear hatch on my 2003 chevrolet trailblazer it exploded in my face.i was cut on my hands, face, and got glass in my eyes.i went directly to the dealer (arrow chevrolet, now called sunrise chevrolet, in midlothian il.)the service dept. Looked at the damage and said they never saw anything like that, (i found out later that it is common) they sent the vehicle out to a "window repair shop" to have the glass replaced.when i got the car back, i noticed that the window was not aligned properly; the service dept. Looked at it quickly and told me that it was fine.three weeks ago while driving down the interstate at 70 mph a loud vibration came from the glass window hatch, as i slowed down the high mount rear stop tail lamp assembly, which is a large fiberglass body piece as wide as the car and 3 feet across flew off my car striking a car in back of me.i pulled over and so did the other driver, the other driver was very shaken as so was i.slight damage to the hood and the bumper of the other car and he said that it was ok since the car was old.my car now is missing a large piece of the body and the third brake light.it was run over by a truck...the window company that replaced the rear hatch window did not affix the panel properly to the window; i have seen may complaints on other web site that the factory install and the double face tape that is used malfunctions all the time, please helpme, we are dealing with two issues here, the rear window exploding and injuring me and the faulty double faced tape that is used to secure outside parts to the car.in addition, the illinois state police stopped and told me that they could have given me a ticket for driving an unsafe vehicle but they gave me a pass and told me to write to you and send them a copy of my letter.

They warranty covers injectors replacement of 2001-2003 chevy duramax diesels my truck is a 2004 with a 2003 engine and has injectors replaced at 63000 miles already and because my truck is an 04 with a 03 engine they deny the claim but allow the 2001-2003 owners injectors to be replaced.

2008 gmc sierra 1500 power door locks all failed.

The third door handle has broken twice in one week , all under normal operation, part was replaced but broke instantly.

My 2004 yukon the panel with the speed control started disappearing. Then it would come back on then disappear again. Now it don't work at all. I cant tell the gas amount, speed or miles. The stability light use to come on.

My 2004 yukon the panel with the speed control started disappearing. Then it would come back on then disappear again. Now it don't work at all. I cant tell the gas amount, speed or miles. The stability light use to come on.

The left rear window mechanism failed while attempting to raise the window.this mechanism was replaced a year ago.
