I have a 2003 chevrolet malibu that i purchased new on 12/27/02.the ignition switch had to be replaced on 7/23/2014 at 70,328 miles for $307.13. I would like gm to at least pay this amount.there is a gm 14350 recall on this car.in talking to gm they would only consider paying for this, if the problem was caused by rotation of the ignition keyi am a man 71 years old and have owned many cars, most purchased new.i keep most cars 10 years and over 100,000 miles.i have never replaced and ignition switch until now.this problem took about 3 months to diagnose. The initial problem developed when the cruise control turned off while in use.it was very intermittent and not predictable.then the check engine lite came on.the codes indicate a problem with the oil pressure sending unit and the cruise control.the next time the check engine light came, there were no codes.the next set of problems was the power window, ventilation (ac and fan), and radio would not work.the main indicator of this problem was the fuel and temperature gauges would not work.i would get various warning lights after starting the engine including abs, battery and others.the problems got worse as the temperature got hotter.half way between milwaukee and appleton, 100 miles into a 200mile trip, we stopped at a rest stop. Upon returning to the car, i couldn?t get the fan or windows to work or eliminate the battery warning light.fortunately, the back windows were open and inch when we left the rest stop.about 10 minutes after leaving the rest stop, everything came on. The car became unusable because of these problems.taking it to and independent shop the owner was very patient as day after day, nothing would fail.finally on a hot sunny day with the car in the sun, i was able to get the car to fail. Replacing the ignition switch fixed all these problems.

2009 chevrolet tahoe - interior door handles have sharp area along top edge. Results in damage to hands when using.

My good friend has been working in a general motors faculty in denver for over five years.the plant requires the employees to work 12 hour shifts weekly, along with one saturday each month.this has been going on for a couple of years.how can safety not be impacted when a plant/operation has so little concern over the safety of its employees, mandating 12 hour days that requires physical ability?it leads to accidents and carelessness and demonstrates gms attitude to the safety of consumers.someone should look into it.

I was driving a 2005 chevy malibu classic down a city street.i turned the wheel to the right, the wheel locked up and froze.i put the vehicle in park.turned the vehicle off.turned the vehicle back on, put it in drive, was able to move the vehicle, but the steering wheel was in the "upside down" direction.i had the vehicle towed to a service station.the front engine cradle/crossmember broke.the new part was discontinued from general motors.they were able to find a used part.the total estimate to repair the vehicle is approximately $1,800.i had to have the vehicle repaired as it is my only means of transportation.

I have a 2011 chevrolet corvette with about 34,000 miles on it. The automatic transmission shift linkage cable has plastic grommets that connect the shift handle to the transmission. The plastic grommets broke disabling the ability to shift out of park into any gear. I was parked in a parking lot when this happened. My concern is if this happens while driving you will lose control of the car.

Transmission replaced for the 3rd time with 140009 miles on 2006 impala ss

Hi, recently i noticed that almost every new vehicle manufacturer is installing high intensity headlamps. While this high intensity headlamps are good for the vehicle that is driven, it is becoming very difficult if you are driving in front of one of these high intensity headlamp vehicles. The headlamps are so intense that you cannot see the headlamps properly in the side rearview mirrors or the mirror within the car. I request nhtsa to conduct thorough investigation of all the vehicle manufacturers and get the details of the specifications of the headlamps being used. I also request that there be an acceptable standard of the headlamps intensity so the drivers do not face so much difficulty driving in the night. I noticed even the heavy big trucks having so powerful headlamps.

I have a 2013 chevy impala, i have a problem with the stability track, brake assist traction control; i have be researching this and it affects many people, and they have written about this ... The abs braking system light comes on the skid lite come on and the car decels.... It seems it loses power, and will stall out it is a very dangerous problem, also the braking system gets spongy . Can u help you can turn off the traction control, but the car will reengage it.

Received notice concerning a headlight problem with my cadillac 2014 srx. The lights on the cadillac are dim at night which makes it difficult to see when driving at night. I have experienced this many times at night. My uncle has the same problem with his srx. Since cadillac is aware of the problem they should recall these vehicles and fix the problem. They are asking the consumers to pay for the repair up front and they will reimburse us. The cost is $1600. This is wrong on so many levels especially if they are aware of the issue.

My 2006 chevy trailblazer fuel gauge indicator went out.when you fill up the tank the gas gauge remains at empty.now i have no idea how much gas is in the tank.this is a public safety matter.i cannot and should not be expected to know how much gas i have in my car without a properly working gas gauge.if my car runs out of fuel and an accident occurs it would be totally avoidable.it is clear that there have been several hundred complaints regarding this issue and the ntsb opened an investigation into this matter but failed to act.i would be ok with paying to fix this issue if it was a rare occurrence but clearly there have been complaints and gm and ntsb are aware.ntsb would be complicit if an accident occurs because they did nothing to protect the individuals on the road.if the ntsb cannot make gm recall the vehicles for this safety problem than i am not sure what the ntsb does and i would advocate not funding this entity.please act on this matter and make gm recall and replace this faulty part before someone dies.

2003 monte carlo "intimidator" edition.transmission would not respond to acceleration after stopping at light on 4 lane rd. After a moment transmission slammed into gear and operated normally. This type of failure occurs daily and had been occuring for the previous 3 months. Car had 123000 miles on it. To rectify problem i traded car in on a 2006 monte carlo ss model. This was ,beyond doubt, a torque converter issue.

We have a 2014 chevrolet malibu ls.the check engine came on and it was diagnosed on 5/17/2020 as needing a rocker arm oil control valve. We are being told that this part has not been available since the latter part of 2019 and that the part was even updated and requiring us to also having to purchase a valve cover. We are being told it's a nationwide backorder for gm. No one at the local chevrolet knows when and if this part will ever be available. Why should we be forced into buying a new car because no knows when or if this part will ever be available.
