I purchased a garmin nuvi 780 gps 6 months ago. Used it for 1st time in aug. 2010. Unit kept shutting offno matter how charged it was and when it was removed from holder the system was very hot. I stopped using it and figured because i had purchased it 6 months ago with no extended warranty from amazon.comi could do nothing.i received a recall alert from amazon and figured my unit was definitely on the list, but it wasn't!i don't know if it was overlooked or proven not to have a problem, but i feel that mine is not right. Yeah i know that the unit will be warm from use, but mine was on for about 20 min and shuts off. When it's removed from holder it is definitely hot. Could you look into this. Since this episode i have not used it, but what if there is a problem and some other customer does??
