I changed the oil on my riding mower, it has a 21 horse kawasaki engine and calls for a fram ph6017a oil filter. After changing the oil and filter i started to mow my grass the engine started knocking and quit running. While checking the engine a noticed the oil fitter was blown about half off. I was able to free up the engine, i tighten the oil filter again and noticed it blow of right after starting the engine. I purchased another fram ph 6017a , after replacing the filter and adding oil, i started the mower the filter stayed tight i stated mowing and within 2-3 minutes the engine threw a rod threw the block. The replacement filter also had blown off. The serial number on the 2 flters are 90643 and 91393.
I purchased the vehicle used in october of 2002.it has 23000+ miles on it.it currently has 35000+ miles on it and the engine is clicking.the dealership notified me that the engine is no good.not only did the engine go bad, but we've been putting oil in the engine like mad.i think we've purchased 6 quarts of oil in the 8 month period and there is no leak and isuzu states this is "normal".also at just over 30000 miles the abs light came on.the intake gasket had to be replaced 1 month after purchase and that in turn caused one of the valves (egr i think) to need replaced as well.*nlm
