Airbag light flashes on/off frequently. Defective sensor is suspected. Part is unavailable. A major safety concern. Not sure if there was a recall prior to purchase or change out of parts.

Complaint our 2011 ford f150 had an involuntary airbag deploy on the passenger side of the vehicle.after further review from the ford dealer they maintain that they do not know what the cause is.currently ford is reviewing however, will not respond to when the evaluation will take place or how long the evaluation will take and that ford council is "reviewing" however, they will not tell us when we can expect a response or remedy if at all.additionally, the vehicle will not start and ford dealer and ford corporate are telling us, thought the vehicle does have a short in the electrical system and there are melted wires that could have caught fire had we not stopped the vehicle, they are not sure the premature airbag deployment and the short circuit of the wiring are related.though the incident happened at the same time the ford dealer maintains that they are not convinced that it failures are related.we were driving down the highway out of state from where we live and the dealer was over hundred miles from the occurrence and it has now been 7 days at the dealer with no resolve offered not do we know when we might hear back.currently the dealer refuses to work on the truck until they hear from ford and ford told us it is under review with legal and no actions will be done until "legal council" has reviewed.we have a customer service representative and we call daily and it appears that there have been other with the same problem.can we obtain how this was resolved?

2012 ford edge door ajar alarm safety issue.

2007 ford edge sel factory stereo system electrical system shorted out and killed battery. Tried to start car and battery was dead tried to jump and was not able, put new battery on vehicle and the factory stereo system started smoking and my now deceased husband had to quickly pull put the stereo system and off the new battery. The eye to system shorted out and fried the battery burnt the wiring and started to catch fire when replaced battery. Now have new battery on vehicle and no factory stereo system just a hole to the engine compartment in the dash because of the defect of factory issues. Please help.

Wiring harness on 2010 ford f-150 4x4 burns up at fuse box. Original harness was replaced by dealer in 2013. Second harness burnt up at fuse box after 16 months. Waiting for new harness at present time.it is the fuel pump connection that is burning up in the box by the fuse. When the harness burns through, the vehicle automatically stops, even while in motion. This constitutes a safety hazard as no notice occurs before burn up. No warning lights appear on dash to warn of this. Nothing has been done to correct the failure, other than replacing the wire harness that is burning up. They have done nothing to correct the reason for the burn up. All that has been done is replacement of the part that is damaged.. Have been waiting for over a month for parts. Other vehicles at the dealership are also experiencing this same issue.

My anti-theft system comes on while i am driving. My car will start to jerk and sometimes pick up speed, i can not stop it or control it. I have been going thru this for 3 and a half years. I have taken it to several shops from md to nc. No one can diagnosis the problem. Last week it did it in a ice storm and i had to hit a snow pile with tree limbs and other things in it and scratch up the front of my car really bad. It is very dangerous i have had to drive off the road to stop from people hitting me. I took it back to the dealership where i brought and they told me to contact ford. When the system locks up i have to pull over,if i turn my car off it will not restart unless i turn on my headlights.i can not use my key code to my car to unlock my doors because it will cause the system to lock up while driving. When i get out off my car and lock the doors with the key after the system locking up, i will go to bed come out in the morning the time has changed and cd player is rotating cd"s and the car is not even on!!!!! i spent alot of money having different things replaced just to have it keep happening. I use my car for work and i work with people with developmentally disabilities this is very frightening and dangerous for me and them as well. My car actually thinks it is being stolen while i'm driving it. When the system locks up at night i have to pull over because the are blinking so much i can't see. I have to turn everything off (radio,heat,lights you name it.) sometimes even turning the lights on doesn't even work! i have sat in the hot sun as well as the freezing cold for over an hour for my car to restart. I don't know what else to do.

Calipers front right f reb caliper remove and inspect and overhaul caliper front one side. Brakes were grinding again which required that inspection which i find out that the same area in the brake system needs replaced. Recomd, tie rod inner remove and replace tie rod end one side inner, ball joints lower front left remove and replace f ball joint one side, 2 brake hoses front. Brake rotors front both needed replaced. Suggested tires due to mileage also rubber valve stem. System failure- required. Recd, brake fluid exchange with abs, and bleed brakes. Ceramic disc brake pads pd598 both front. 03/02/2013 mil 151213. 3rd repair shop, replaced all four tires with warranty brakes and pads along with discs needed replaced for the 4th time. Transmission flush due to leaking fluid. Qt dex 3 proline. Brake drums and shoes replaced. Replaced brake fluid, tie rod end one side inner along with replace of the shaft seal remove and install f axle shaft assembly one side. Tran's seal cr. Cv axle replacement. Ball joint replacement along with wheel cylinder rear both, brake service with rear brake drum. Engine light off/ runs poor diagnostic, replacement of pcv valve assembly, replaced upper and lower intake manifold gasket remove and replaced pcv valve along with tune up package. Relearn engine idle, rear brakes basic pc pkg, dorman rear right wheel and left cylinders. During these 3-4 repair shops cannot fix the cruise control to get the car to stop driving it self when above 30mph along with acceleration, back tail light right side shorts out continually. It is very difficult and very unsafe to control a vehicle that has had more than three or four repair shops try their hardest to fix a problem that apparently has some of these problems. I am with the belief that the brake system along theelectrical system within the 2003 ford taurus ses dohc is unsafe for street use in the u.s. Due to our standards here of motor safety. When put into gear the transmission jumps loud.

I owe ford fusion se 2015 model while i was driving in a freeway my passenger side door latched and caused my door to open i was driving on right side of road and i safely saved myself and vehicle next and side of me from collisions.took my vehicle to ford for repair and there was recall too but they denied my service saying parts wont be available till next year. I am not in position to buy a new car and i cannot commute with car having latched door

Abs and brake lights began coming onmy dash. They will go off periodically, and then come back on. The first date this happened was in 2010. I drive a 2003 ford windstar. I took it to the auto shop right away and was quoted over $1,000 to fix it. I asked what the part does and was told that it mostly controls the abs system. I asked him what i could do if i did not fix it, because there was no way i could afford that. He suggested to pump my brakes when braking. The system is dangerous when trying to make a fast stop. I have been hearing that it has happened to other vehicles of this same model vehicle.

To my knowledge the cops have recovered some of the pieces. But, the following indivuals of ebara intl corporation still have some of the pieces they refuse to give back. Opening/closing driver side door; driver door ajar light stays on when door is closed which leaves on interior lights after exiting the vehicle. It has started to occur more often within the last month, approx 85,000 miles. When the driver ajar light is on my door locks will not engage/initiate during driving like they should normally do. Contacted used car dealer and they suggest the charge to fix can range from 195.00-450.00, depending on the issue, sensor replacement etc.....

I'm 86 yrs old and purchased a 2010 mercury milan in feb.2013. This was a dealer demo car with 13000 miles on it. 2 months later someone who was following me at night pulled me over to tell me my brake lights didn't work. I did some investigations on line and found out that model of car has manyproblems with the brake lights not working when the head lights are on. They work when headlights are off. Ford would not correct this problem and i had to pay $1000.00 for repairs. As i seen online im not the only one with this problem, there are many others. I feel ford is waiting for someone to be killed before they'll do anything about this problem! i was very fortunate not to be hurt do to their faulty equipment.

2007 ford edge sel factory stereo system electrical system shorted out and killed battery. Tried to start car and battery was dead tried to jump and was not able, put new battery on vehicle and the factory stereo system started smoking and my now deceased husband had to quickly pull put the stereo system and off the new battery. The eye to system shorted out and fried the battery burnt the wiring and started to catch fire when replaced battery. Now have new battery on vehicle and no factory stereo system just a hole to the engine compartment in the dash because of the defect of factory issues. Please help.

I have a ford edge 2010.the passenger door ajar light continues to go off causing the locks to unlock, the dome light to turn on and off, and the bellis/was constantly dinging. I will continuously open and shut the passenger door to jar the sensor of whatever the component is to reset the system. The fix is only fleeting. The door ajar light is now on constantly so the odometer and other information do not appear. There is just a constant "passenger door ajar" light on and now the dinging does not occur but the locks do not lock and no mileage information appears. I took the car to the ford dealer and was told that it would be approximately $500.00 to repair. I have been dealing with this problem for a year.

Nearly all vehicles: it is difficult to see turn signal lights at night with headlights on because the headlights blot out the turn signal light on most cars. Some cars today - usually high end ones - that also put a turn signal light on their side mirrors help decrease the problem, but something like this must be mandated for all vehicles, because it is dangerous not to be able to see the turn signal light for oncoming vehicles who are taking a turn, especially when the vehicle is coming at you on the same road and wants to take a turn - if you cannot see the turn signal light, it is dangerous if you keep on going like the vehicle ahead wasn't going to turn. Accidents may have already happened because of this and we just don't know about them yet, but, in any case, not being able to see turn signal lights because they are too close to the headlights which overwhelm then is a danger, worse when the weather is rainy or foggy. If accidents have happened because of this, what would the driver report? that he just didn't know the person was going to turn? it is not likely this would be taken very seriously. But it is a serious problem that needs to be corrected by some mandated system that allows us to see turn signal indicators much better..

Dearler ship wont look at my safety recall unless my doors are acting up and wont shut or fly open already

1997 ford explorer driver's seat belt latch receiver failure.after owning the car for 12 to 13 years, the latch/receiver would not engage the strap.i replaced it with one from a salvage yard and after three years this replacement latch/receiver has failed also.

This is for a 2013 ford edge sel awd model, recently the driver's door ajar indicator keeps coming on , and interior lights on with it, slamming the door a few times , sometimes corrects it. But it is an ongoing issue, and seems to be getting more and more frequent, very annoying, and if it does it upon leaving the vehicle parked , interior lights stay on and run down the battery. While driving it sometimes comes on, and unlocks the doors, because it thinks this door is ajar, when in fact the door is closed tight. Ford should recall and fix this issue, apparently it's been going on for years with several different models, and they want more than $400 to repair their faulty switch issue.

Again while driving my car lost power. My air kicks on by itself and i loose all power to my car. I video taped this as this is a repeat problem that no one can figure out.

I own a 2013 ford edge. Approx. 50,000 miles (70,000 km) on odometer. The drivers side door ajar warning light keeps coming on even though the door is closed. When i stop another warning comes on telling me to put the vehicle in park! the warning light will not go away when i opt ok on the control panel.i have checked on the internet about this issue and it looks like it is a chronic problem with ford edges. I have an appt. To have it diagnosed / repaired on friday but by the looks of this problem, it is something that should be dealt with as a recall!

I contacted ford about my modual unit for the lights they replaced it then i lost my heat and my a.c the same day and now fords recalling the car for the same issue they fixed . Once they replaced the bad one my heater stoped working and it was working be for they touched my car to replace the headlight modual.

There continues to be an ongoing issue with the electrical system of 2005 ford freestyle. We have had a new cluster installed (which did not fix the issue) and have spent several thousand dollars trying to determine how to fix the ongoing issues with the electrical system, including dash lights, locks, all instrument cluster panel lights loss of speedometer, turn signals not working, back up lights staying on while driving, why has a recall not been issued on this vehicle. You opened an investigation and closed it within a year. I have read several complaints that indicate this is a problem on other ford vehicles also. We are supposed to be the second owner of this car and purchased from a dealer. Now we have a clear understanding why it was being sold.

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this complaint but it's the closest option i could take...i would like to log a complaint regarding the ever increasing use of ultra-bright led's in automobile rear tail/brake light configurations.i have noticed recently that many auto makers are beginning to use these ultra-bright led's in their rear brakelight/turnsignal housings. My complaint is a safety concern that they are so bright that when you are behind another vehicle at night, the brightness of these lamps cause you to temporarily loose your night vision! i was nearly in an accident because the car in front of me had such bright rear turn signals/brake lights that i couldn't see the road (at night) after he pulled away from me!please introduce some luminance limit standards for these new led tail lights to where they will not blind you at night. The door locks on my 2018, ford f-150 continue to freeze any morning with 30 degree or below temperatures. I currently have 3 total vehicles adjacent without any other incidents. This does not seem like a safety issue but it is. Not noticing a rear door was frozen open caused the door to swing open when turning the vehicle. Some days can't get into vehicle without warm water repeatedly put on vehicle. I have owner over 25 cars during a 50 year period and never had this issue.

This is product safety and product defect issues. I don't feel that the 'four low beam' system of the new ford pick up trucks should be legal. The fmcsr states that in a four headlamp system "two must be type 1, and two must betype 2" which means four low beams is not possible. The total lumen output is brighter thanmany high beams. The glare when approaching or following is excessive by a large margin.ford should be forced to recall and disconnect the lower set of low beams. 220 total wattsof low beam energy is simply to much.

2006 ford five hundred. Passenger side puddle lamp caused fire in passenger side mirror. The insulation on the wires at the connection to the puddle lamp melted, leaving the wires in constant contact. This caused a fire inside of the passenger side mirror. I isolated the two wires and covered them both with electrical tape, while i am waiting for a new part. I also had to replace a blown fuse under the dash. Based on what i see reported, this is happening both on the ford 500 and the ford freestyle. My 2013 ford fiesta has transmission issues its already gotten the transmission and clutch recalled and replaced and a month later it started acting up and progressively gotten worse. In stop and go traffic it jumps and shudders and is unpredictable. I live on a hill and sometimes it will stop halfway up the hill and start rolling back bc it won't shift correctly. This is not safe and is like a ticking time bomb. I'm terrified it will cause a traffic accident and ford says it will keep needing to be replaced repeatedly. It was bought in 2013 and there's constant problems.

I have a ford edge 2010.the passenger door ajar light continues to go off causing the locks to unlock, the dome light to turn on and off, and the bellis/was constantly dinging. I will continuously open and shut the passenger door to jar the sensor of whatever the component is to reset the system. The fix is only fleeting. The door ajar light is now on constantly so the odometer and other information do not appear. There is just a constant "passenger door ajar" light on and now the dinging does not occur but the locks do not lock and no mileage information appears. I took the car to the ford dealer and was told that it would be approximately $500.00 to repair. I have been dealing with this problem for a year.

Lift gate shock failed on 2010 ford edge. The lift gate opens all the way, jerks when it reached it's full lift potential, and then it automatically starts back down.there is no failsafe if the shocks fail.if one lift gate shock fails, then both shocks fail, as the door is too heavy for just one shock.this is a safety hazard as the automatically closing gate could injure a child and/or adult.

Door latch on 2012 ford edge failure, door ajar and no key detected light on. "cleaned" not replaced per ford instructions. Issue arose again in under 1 year and 8,000 miles out of warranty by 4 months at that point. Ford would not stand by their warranty work and was charged for defective product after repair

2007 ford edge sel factory stereo system electrical system shorted out and killed battery. Tried to start car and battery was dead tried to jump and was not able, put new battery on vehicle and the factory stereo system started smoking and my now deceased husband had to quickly pull put the stereo system and off the new battery. The eye to system shorted out and fried the battery burnt the wiring and started to catch fire when replaced battery. Now have new battery on vehicle and no factory stereo system just a hole to the engine compartment in the dash because of the defect of factory issues. Please help.

I'm not sure this is the right place to post this complaint but it's the closest option i could take...i would like to log a complaint regarding the ever increasing use of ultra-bright led's in automobile rear tail/brake light configurations.i have noticed recently that many auto makers are beginning to use these ultra-bright led's in their rear brakelight/turnsignal housings. My complaint is a safety concern that they are so bright that when you are behind another vehicle at night, the brightness of these lamps cause you to temporarily loose your night vision! i was nearly in an accident because the car in front of me had such bright rear turn signals/brake lights that i couldn't see the road (at night) after he pulled away from me!please introduce some luminance limit standards for these new led tail lights to where they will not blind you at night. I'm 86 yrs old and purchased a 2010 mercury milan in feb.2013. This was a dealer demo car with 13000 miles on it. 2 months later someone who was following me at night pulled me over to tell me my brake lights didn't work. I did some investigations on line and found out that model of car has manyproblems with the brake lights not working when the head lights are on. They work when headlights are off. Ford would not correct this problem and i had to pay $1000.00 for repairs. As i seen online im not the only one with this problem, there are many others. I feel ford is waiting for someone to be killed before they'll do anything about this problem! i was very fortunate not to be hurt do to their faulty equipment.

This is for a 2013 ford edge sel awd model, recently the driver's door ajar indicator keeps coming on , and interior lights on with it, slamming the door a few times , sometimes corrects it. But it is an ongoing issue, and seems to be getting more and more frequent, very annoying, and if it does it upon leaving the vehicle parked , interior lights stay on and run down the battery. While driving it sometimes comes on, and unlocks the doors, because it thinks this door is ajar, when in fact the door is closed tight. Ford should recall and fix this issue, apparently it's been going on for years with several different models, and they want more than $400 to repair their faulty switch issue.

Calipers front right f reb caliper remove and inspect and overhaul caliper front one side. Brakes were grinding again which required that inspection which i find out that the same area in the brake system needs replaced. Recomd, tie rod inner remove and replace tie rod end one side inner, ball joints lower front left remove and replace f ball joint one side, 2 brake hoses front. Brake rotors front both needed replaced. Suggested tires due to mileage also rubber valve stem. System failure- required. Recd, brake fluid exchange with abs, and bleed brakes. Ceramic disc brake pads pd598 both front. 03/02/2013 mil 151213. 3rd repair shop, replaced all four tires with warranty brakes and pads along with discs needed replaced for the 4th time. Transmission flush due to leaking fluid. Qt dex 3 proline. Brake drums and shoes replaced. Replaced brake fluid, tie rod end one side inner along with replace of the shaft seal remove and install f axle shaft assembly one side. Tran's seal cr. Cv axle replacement. Ball joint replacement along with wheel cylinder rear both, brake service with rear brake drum. Engine light off/ runs poor diagnostic, replacement of pcv valve assembly, replaced upper and lower intake manifold gasket remove and replaced pcv valve along with tune up package. Relearn engine idle, rear brakes basic pc pkg, dorman rear right wheel and left cylinders. During these 3-4 repair shops cannot fix the cruise control to get the car to stop driving it self when above 30mph along with acceleration, back tail light right side shorts out continually. It is very difficult and very unsafe to control a vehicle that has had more than three or four repair shops try their hardest to fix a problem that apparently has some of these problems. I am with the belief that the brake system along theelectrical system within the 2003 ford taurus ses dohc is unsafe for street use in the u.s. Due to our standards here of motor safety. When put into gear the transmission jumps loud.

1997 ford explorer driver's seat belt latch receiver failure.after owning the car for 12 to 13 years, the latch/receiver would not engage the strap.i replaced it with one from a salvage yard and after three years this replacement latch/receiver has failed also.

Abs and brake lights began coming onmy dash. They will go off periodically, and then come back on. The first date this happened was in 2010. I drive a 2003 ford windstar. I took it to the auto shop right away and was quoted over $1,000 to fix it. I asked what the part does and was told that it mostly controls the abs system. I asked him what i could do if i did not fix it, because there was no way i could afford that. He suggested to pump my brakes when braking. The system is dangerous when trying to make a fast stop. I have been hearing that it has happened to other vehicles of this same model vehicle.

2012 ford edge door ajar alarm safety issue.

Opening/closing driver side door; driver door ajar light stays on when door is closed which leaves on interior lights after exiting the vehicle. It has started to occur more often within the last month, approx 85,000 miles. When the driver ajar light is on my door locks will not engage/initiate during driving like they should normally do. Contacted used car dealer and they suggest the charge to fix can range from 195.00-450.00, depending on the issue, sensor replacement etc.....
