The design of passenger side airbag cover breaks front windshield on escort zx2's. The cover flips up when it could flip down without damaging the windshield. Every zx2 i've seen or heard about where airbags deployed has had to have windshield replaced.a real money maker for dealerships or glass shops.

I bought the vehicle from this company. I expect that all parts be in safe working condition... I was in an automobile accident june 3, 2005 in which while traveling about 50 mph my car struck the side of a ford truck that had pulled out perpendicular into my lane.my car was wedged beneath the truck and the front end was demolished while the dash has evidence of moving back as well including the bruises on my knees and leg. My car was determined "totaled" and i am in therapy for my injuries to include portions of my body from head to toe. My airbag did not deploy!!! the vehicle was sold to me in less than safe driving condition as the airbag was one of many reasons i agreed to buy the car. Ford should not allow the resale of their product unless it is safe.

After taking my expedition for service for an inoperable horn, the service department indicated that the air bag was defective.

A car accident occurred on january 9,2004. Car was hit behind, and the bags did not deploy, but airbag light came on. Van was taken to repair shop twice to fix light. They came to the decision that a code needed to be put in and could only be done at ford. Thevan was taken to ford 4 times, and the light still comes on. First they put in code. 2 weeks passed then light came on again. Van taken back to ford. It was released to us. After about 5 weeks light came on. They put in the code again. Light came back on as soon as we got to the driveway. We went to ford again, and they said there was a problem with module.they replaced the module and a whole new air bag system in july. The replacement was done twice due to the first air bag system was defective, the light came on and stayed on the next morning. A complete new system place in the next day. The air bag light came on again then went out. They said it was okay. Light is back on now (march 2005). Now ford is telling us that a new module has to be placed in because it has burnt out. Also ford needs to find out what is burning out the electrical system? over $500 worth of work to be done and now not covered by warranty from july 2004? we are not sure if the airbags will deploy in case of emergency. And we have small children to transport in the vehicle. Spoke to ford dealer in our area. No help.

Dear ford co . On nov 2 2005 i received a letter on my 1994 ford f 150 it told me that the cruise control could catch fire.i took it to the dealer ship and they disconnected it . When they sent a card saying the part was in . When they fixed it, the air bag light came on.i took it back they said it was not due to anything they had done. We didn't have this problem before . Now the cruise control doesn't work or the horn. And i am afraid neither does the air bag. I know this could be dangerous.would you please advise . They said it would take several hundred dollars to fix it.

On my new ford escape 2002 bought 8-2002. My gas pedal stuck, my brakes were leaking fluid my ignition has broke. My passanger side rear door will not open or close properly and has opened while the vehicle is in motion. There is a vibration in my left front end and my air bag warning light stays on at times my driver side saftey restraint has sheared and had to be replaced

Fatality vehicle fire, dec. 8 2004.my husband is the original owner of a 2000 ford focus, subject to numerous service visits to bill brown ford, livonia mi for:ignition, steering column, wheel bearing, brake, rear window control, seat belt &trunk latches, overhead light and engine light.the vacuum line & fuel pump & valve assembly were replaced 2/03, followed by stalling. In 6/03,a/ccompressor & manifold line replaced. Fuel line & pump failure in 8/03,resulted in gasoline spill on residential street minutes after parking. Bogging followed repairs, pcm reprogrammed & leakingpvc tube replaced 1/04. Fuel pump again replaced.in 8/04, our 24 year old son took ownership of this problematic car. We are uncertain as to whether vehicle malfunction caused a 35 mph collision with a fire hydrant. An immediate engine explosion and fuel fed fire trapped my son and his passenger. Described by police as a relatively minor crash which would not be expected to claim lives, the subsequent unexplained engine fire claimed two young lives.a malfunctioning driver's airbag was also detected.this incident was originally reported to nhtsa by my husband (#10104088).i am supplying these additional facts for your clarification.please correct your posting of "0" injuries as there were 2 fatalities.please take effective action to save lives, as these trouble plagued vehicles seem to become more lethal as they age.confirmation of receipt of this information is requested.*sc

I purchased a 2002 ranger edge 4x4 , it had 4 miles on it. I have since replaced the airbag sensor, abs sensor, front end had tobe realigned due to a bad alignment at the factory, the tires inthe front had to be replaced at 4500 miles. Now at 38000 miles the 4x4 drivetrain was leakingat the front cover. The breathing tube was throwing oil out onto the engine . I was told by ford company and a ford tech. That this was a e4nginnering problem. It was replaced at my cost of 796.00. The cover was replaced with a part that was used previous to 1995, part number is fof6tz-4033-ba. My complaint is why is this not a recall and can i expect future problems.

The interior light continues to remain on and the dash readout indicates that there is a door open when there actually isn't. As a result, the driver's side door will not lock as long as the car believes there is an unlocked door.

There is a leak in the resevoir for the radiator, electrical problem with the radio. The radio keeps losing power when going down the road. The master switch for the passenger window does not work, the rear passenger window assembly is broke leaving the window not able to stay up. There is a funny noise when driving down the road. It sounds like a crackly noise. Half of the time the heat will not work.

We have a 2000 ford focus and it has been in and out of the shop for the same problem.the car stalls at times and the lights of the car go off and on as well as the radio and the speedometer go crazy from on side to the other.i can be driving and have the radio off and it will turn on.the car stalled for the first time on oct. 22 2001 and it didn't restart so we took it to ford and they replaced the fuel pump.the car drove good for a while and then it started all over again.so we took it to ford on sept. 30 2002 and they told us that it was altenator.so we had it replaced.the car did good for a while and then on july 16 2003 the engine would stall.ford said that this time it was vacuum leak and they replaced the tube assembly.the car still had the same problem and we took it in on july 18 2003 the engine would stall.ford said that it was the fuel pump once again.so we had it replaced. The car still had the same problem so we took it back to ford and they said it was the altenator.we couldn't afford to have it fixed by ford so we had the altenator fixed with someone else.on sept. 17 2003 we could not start the car and we had to have it towed.ford said that it was the ignition cylinder and we had it replaced. After all of this the car did ok for a little while but on jan. 28 2004 the engine begain to stall once again.ford said that it was the fuel pump once again so we had it replaced.on feb. 4 2004 the gas would leak when you filled the tank.ford said it was the pump retaining nut not seated properly. The car still did not act good it started out slow with the car stalling every now and then and then it just would stall and turn off while you are driving.and sometimes the car would not ever start again untill 15 min would pass and then it would start.on aug. 20 2004we took it to ford and they said that the alternator.so we had it replaced for the 3rd time.

The 2004 lincoln navigtor that we purchased has suffered numerous battery failures leading to various electrical problems.at first, the vehicle would not start at all.after numerous attempts to repair and over a week with the dealer, an improperly dealer installed dvd player was the cause.however, immediately after that problem was "fixed" the navigation system failed.specifically, the screen would "grey" out not allowing any input into the system.after 10-13 minutes, the options would appear for a few sections and then "grey" out again.

This is the second spark plug in less than 4 months that has blown out of the cylinder head out of our 2001ford expedition.please investigate this problem as it is occurring to many people.it is definitely a flaw in design and is costing people too much money to continue to fix.ford has been no help.as the last time, while driving the spark plug just blows through the cylinder head on a vehicle that has been impeccably maintained.

Brought my car in for the wiring recall and i told the dealer that there was spark knocking in the engine when it first starts and under hard acceleration. When i drive into my parents drive way my parents tell me that they know i am there because of the radio interference on the tv screen. I know a lot about electricity and i know that this is caused by noise and or shorts, bad connections what have you. I am very concerned about this because i know that the car has resistor plugs. We have also replaced the computer once and now this recall thing! we also had to replace the rear springs.when its really cold out and go to start the car the starter does not disengage and grinds on the fly wheel. It takes forever for it to warm up and it does not rarely ever warm up when its idling you have to drive it to get any heat. But overall its only left my wife stranded once. That's better than our last vehicle!! but now i wonder if this car is a ticking time bomb waiting to happen. Ford may not be my next choice of vehicle in the future that is if it doesn't kill me first!

I bought my 99 ford windstar sel in march of this year (2006) and not even a week after i bought it when i would pull out from red lights or stop signs and the van would either die on me in the middle of the road or would continuously hesitate. I brought it back to the dealership and the first time they said that it was my keys so they reprogrammed my keys. Then it happened again as soon as i left the dealership, i brought it back a second time, they told me that they believed it had to do with my theft device. They assured me it was fixed then sent me home with it. A couple of days later it did the same thing again only this time every time i got in my van or closed my driver door from entering or exiting my van it would tell me on my message system that my driver door was ajar which lead to the interior lights being on. It did that the day i took it home from the dealership so i had to bring it back for a third time now for the re-occurring problem i was having and now with the door being said to be open. They finally said they found the problem and that ford told them that there was a similar incident with another van like mine and said that they had to replace the cip sycronizor. I was able to take my van home again and they problem had been fixed all except the message i still get to this day about my driver door being ajar when it isn't. It didn't do it to me before i took it to the dealership and now they won't fix it when it was a result from them having it. Keep in mind each of the 3 times i had to take it in i had to leave it with them for 1-3 days each time! no loan car was offered to me so i was left with no car and i have 3 small children that i have to care for and need transportation for.

On 12/10/05, i purchased a new 2006 ford explorer.yesterday, for the fifth time, the vehicle has not been able to start.i brought it in to ford on 01/11/06, they replaced the battery and told me it would not happen again.it happened again last night.

Vehicle was parked in front of my home--approximately around 6:00 am the vehicle caught on fire with no keys in the ignition!

While driving my 2000 ford focus, i came to a four way stop and the car ceased to work, as if i had turned off the key...no sputtering, just stopped. I restarted the vehicle and it lurched forward, died again, just as before. As i looked out the front windshield, i observed smoke coming from the hood of the car. I exited the car and flames were coming from the wheel wells. I immediately called 911. People began spraying water on the car from garden hoses, two people stopped with fire extinguishers and nothing put out the flames. When the fire department arrived, within 10 minutes, the entire front of the car was destroyed. Pieces in the engine compartment were melting and falling off the engine onto the ground. Police arrived to direct traffic. The car was towed to wendle ford, and my insurance company removed the vehicle to their premises the next day. I still have no idea what could have caused this problem in a five year old vehicle with no prior problems. As i have seen several other incidents of fire in this vehicle, the government should make ford motor company investigate why this is happening before someone gets killed!

Interior lights malfunctioning, daytime running lights not working correctly, heating/cooling system not working properly; stays on even when key is not in ignition.when ignition is turned on or off,the woofer makes a loud thumping sound.woofer inoperable.right sign wing never worked properly/ will not open or close. Braking system is doubtful, it squeaks, and when gas is released engine and braking are not coordinated smoothly . Constant squeaking when in motion.dealerships service repair personal neglect and refuse to find the causes, even though vehicle is still under warranty.*nlm

My car has a eletrical or computer problem which al packer ford cannot seem to fix. I,ve had two recalls they had to take care of so far .when i purchase my car i brought the extended warranty which i thought took care of everything including a loaner car which they nerver even offered for my inconvinece

Windshield leaking water which blew out fuse box and gem causing erratic behavior in windshield wipers, radio, heater, air conditioner, overdrive, transmission, speedometer, odometer, rpm gauge, and it also led to our pcm having to be replaced. Replaced windshield, fuse box, gem, pcm. Cost us 1700.00 dollars. Two weeks later after a rainy night it is at the dealer again.

I was driving down the highway when my car seemed to take control of itself.my tape player quit working, my air turned off.my engine was roaring.pushing forward even with my brakes on.i was shaking and crying i could not control my car it was trying to move into the intersection with a red light.i could not control the movement.i felt like my car was possessed with it's own mind.the car repair shop replaced it's alternator.i am on my 4th alternator the car is still in the shop it can not be driven on the road safely.they have tried replacing some wiring.still is not working.

1999 ford expedition burned in garage, destoying garage and damaging house. Not driven for over 12 hours. Burned so badly investigators could not determine how it started. Recall was done for cruise control switch.

Two years of repairs including the loss of power, brake issues, injectors repalced on these trucks, stalling while in operation, electrical problems, oil pressure problems, water in gas in all trucks several times, replacing batteries on a constant basis, won't start, relay issues, blown headgaskits and when repaired the truck continued to leak oil and darlington raceway ford said the head was warpped.

Ignition problems, cd player malfuction, was repaired but failed again 3 times to start and towed 3 times to the dealer.

Vehicle was left outside during several rainy days. Upon starting vehicle, wipers, fans would not work.radio would not operate.when vehicle was left in auxiliary position, the vehicle would start itself without turning the key.if the car was left running and in park, the vehicle would try to start while running. This has happened several times, during wet rainy weather. The vehicle, a 2001 ford expedition was taken to the dealership and problem explained.by this time the area affected had dried out and vehicle returned to normal operating systems.the dealer said it could not be diagnosed until it occurred again.

Vehicle interior and headlights constantly brighten and dim when brake or gas pedal is applied.brought it in to dealer on 11/26/04, alternator was replaced (100 dollars spent).alternator had previously been replaced due to complete failure on christmas eve 2001.now on third alternator.on monday november 29, car began exhibited the same brightening and dimming effects.brought to dealer and was informed that the wire between the battery and alternator could potentially have a problem.dealer was nice enough to fix it for free.i have contacted mercury corporate several times and asked to speak with someone who can actualy help me and and always told that i can't speak to anyone else.there are so many more things that have gone wrong with this car i dont even know where to begin.

All guages went full tilt, abs light came on, loss of power to electrical systems, vehicle was towed twice for same problem. Once vehicle turnedoff would not start just clicking. Dealer replaced battery twice.

We own a 2000 ford focus 4dr lx.on 2/18/2004 and again on 6/20/2004, we put a key in the ignition, and it would not turn at all.we tried everyting, including jiggling the steering wheel.the first time, we had three keys for the car and found that one worked, but the others didn't.it was under an extended warranty (not ford's), which covered replacement of the entire ignition assembly.it is now in the shop again, 4 months later, under a parts warranty(less than 1 year/ 12,000 miles since the last time).there is absolutely no warning that this is about to happen.this time, we were out of town on a holiday sunday (fathers' day), no rental cars available anywhere, no place to stay.neither key worked (had two).we had it towed back to the dealership that worked on it the last time.it is there now.a tow truck driver said he sees this often/ this is a common problem, as do some of the websites listing complaints about his make/model car.this time it should be under ford's parts warranty, but we are concerned this will happen again and again.i am terrified that this will happen again and one of us will be stranded someplace and not able to get help.please investigate, and if you find that this is a chronic problem with the car, as it appears to be, please make ford recall this part and fix the problem.our car only has approximately 52,000 miles on it.we previously had problems with the front suspension and 3 major problems with the fuel system (had to be towed to the dealer 3 times).it is now outside the manufacturer's warranty, and it did not fall within the lemon law.we can't afford to replace the car now, nor should we have to, but we're going to try (but we don't know who will buy it, knowing that they could get stranded somewhere, too).thank you for your consideration.

The ignition of my 2000 ford focus i was stuck at dallas airport after a job interview for about three hours in 90 degree heat. It was repaired and locked up again this time in front of my hours.

1- this specific failure, there were no events leading to it, it just happened.the ignition switch just locked.previously there were little events with the car leading up to its failure.2- it stalled and wouldn't start, fuel wasn't getting to the engine and would lead to power failure.3- after repeated trips to the garage and told there was nothing wrong with it.they did replace the plugs and wires and fuel pump again.now the problem is the ignition switch.

Since august 2003, i have experienced ignition lock five (5) times with my 2001 ford focus.first two "repairs" (8/03 and 12/03) were covered under warranty, and supposedly replaced the ignition cylinder. I never saw the old part. However, when vehicle was taken in for subsequent repair to the same problem (2/04), i was told that a permanent repair would require replacement of the steering column and would cost me $500+, but that the ignition cylinder could be replaced under warranty.i got no response to my inquiry about why no permanent fix had been made while the vehicle was under warranty.i directed them to perform the repair i could afford - the cylinder.i never saw the old part that time either.the car was re-keyed as well.the ignition locked again on 5/20/04, and after i contacted ford motor company, the service department notified me that they had replaced the tumblers and re-keyed the vehicle at no charge.they also informed me that any subsequent repairs would be at my expense, as they would not be covered by warranty.the ignition locked again on 5/25/04.*lathe initial repair to this problem was made under warranty.it was not a permanent repair, although there were service bulletins and a significant record of complaints issued on this same problem from early 2001.at no point have i received a satisfactory answer, from the dealer or from ford customer relations, to why the permanent repair was not performed in august 2003.i feel that the dealer made no attempt to effect a repair on this problem while it was warranted, but stalled with temporary fixes until the mileage/age of the vehicle would require me to pay, both for parts and labor.as it now stands, i will be taking my vehicle to another dealer for the repair and a second opinion, and hope i can get my money back.i refuse to pay even ten cents for a repair by a service department that has already failed to make the same repair four times!

There is no event leading up to failure that was recognizable. When you put key in the ignition, it seizes and will not turn to start the car. This has happened to me twice now!! in a year and a half. The first time it occurred was 6-27-03 and i had it fixed. The tumbler and ignition switch had to be replaced. I thought it may be a one off--i had bought the car used from the dealership. However, this has now occured again 1-25-05 and i will now have to pay again for something that should never have happened once--nevermind twice! i called ford and they were very uninterested and said there was no recall--but i bet there are other with this problem. It mean is takes 2 weeks to order the parts and fix so it is a hugh inconvenience because i have a small child and am pregnant again. I have to have the car towed to be serviced and am very upset and feel this needs loked into further since ford dont really seem to give a toss.

The key will not turn in the ignition.ignition had to be replaced.this is the third time it has happened, and i had to have it towed each time.

The ignition switch on my car is not working. If it has to be replaced, it will be the third time since i bought the car. Which was in febuary of 2002. If a locksmith shop can repair the problem, why is it that a ford dealership can't?

Type of automobile is a 2004 ford focus.on several occasionsx ignition locks up and cannot start car.i have researched the internet and found this is a common problem in the ford focus dating back to the 2000 model and yet ford has done nothing to correct the problem.this could be a dangerous problem for a mother with children if she were to travel at night and when returning to the car could not start her engine.it is not covered by insurance for repair or under warranty if expired and it is a manufacturing defect on the part of ford and the consumer should not be responsible for repairs that after researching has been evident since the release of the ford focus.it is time that ford did something about this instead of leaving it up to the consumer to repair.

Ignition problems, cd player malfuction, was repaired but failed again 3 times to start and towed 3 times to the dealer.

Ignition lock was jammed on my ford focus 2002 and i had to replace it twice so far. It cost me close to $400canadian. I only have 40,000 miles on it . This has been such a frequent event. Ford is not taking any responsibility yet.

On 4/12/06, the ignition in my 2003 ford focus jammed and was unable to start i was stuck i called the tow service who had me try different ways to start my car however it didn't work. When the driver arrived he hit the key 4-5 times then it unjammed and started up after he turned the car off he had to hit the key again to start the car when we arrived at the dealer in antelope valley, ca the service req informed me the i had to pay $430 to get my car repaired i asked why hasn't the car been recall he didn't have an answer but there are several reports of the same problem with this car i like for someone to look into the problem with this car.

I own a 2000 ford focus and among all the recalled parts i've fixed the car continues to have problems. The car jumps either when i press the gas or if the car is in idle. I've brought it to a mechanic and they thought it had to do with the oil leaking in my spark plugs which they fixed and gave me a tune up with all ford parts. Of course now they suggestbringing it to the dealer and have ford run tests. I've probably have gotten something fixed on my car every 6 months for the past 3 years. Also i've had to replace 3 windows due to the device that pulls it up and down broke. And now my key won't start the car. I can't start my ignition because of the key lock/pin is defective. What more do i have to go through for ford to recall or fix this car, get in an accident and get hurt myself.

2000 black ford focus zx3my key (same key that came with the car) will not start my car. . . .it will not turn over at all. And also i can't get my steering wheel to unlock to make matters worst. This problem doesn't happen often but it happens more than it should, and this time i can't even get it to start at all. It happens about 3 times a year and i can get my car going in about an hour. But, this time my car has been sitting in my drive way for 3 days now. I have called the dealership 3 times. The first time someone gave me advice but, it didn't help. And the last 2 times they have failed to call me back!

While standing idle for more than three hours vehiclecaught on fire, with the dashboard and engine compartment fully engulfed.although exact cause of malfunction has yet to be determined, this vehicle should never have just caught on fire.

I tried to start my car and the key would not turn. The ignition was locked. I tried several times and it would not turn. I read on a ford focus forum online that several other focus owners have experienced this same problem and one tow truck driver hit the key in the ignition to get it started. I had to result to doing the same and it worked. The other problem now is that my key is now stuck in the ignition and will not come out. The dealer wants to charge $380+and this is outrageous! there are thousands of complaints about this ignition lock problem. My concern is that this problem could have happened anywhere. Thank goodness it happened at home close to internet resources. Otherwise, i would have been stranded somewhere with 3 young children and no means of starting my car.

Ignition problems, cd player malfuction, was repaired but failed again 3 times to start and towed 3 times to the dealer.

I own a 1995 ford ranger. I have had several problems with the wipers coming on with out being turned on. The restraints don't return which causes them to get caught in door. The temperture gauge went out and i had to replace it withanother gauge that you mount under the dash. The latch on the tailgate went out. The ignition has went out and is going out again. I have read alot of complaints from people who own the same vehicle with the same problems. It's time that ford owned up to these problems and fix these trucks.i also had to replace the thermastat twice. There is difinately alot of problems with this truck that need to be addressed.

My 2001 ford focus was taken to latham ford, latham,ny & orange motors, (towed all 3 times) because of ignition problem. Key put inignition would not turn vehicle on, it scratched key & at onepoint bent key. Car is not reliable- stuck with vehicle on 3 occations. I had to have a ride to my home and have friends bring me to work, store, etc.when my car was repaired i was not guaranteed it would not happen again. Ignition put in aug of 03 at orange motors, alany, ny, then in sept.03 towed again to latham ford (where i bought my car) as orange motors was up set in aug.that i brought my car to them since i did not buy it there-i brought it there as it was closer to my job- then ignition problem occuirred in june 04. Again stranded-had to have car towed to shop and was without a car and shop at no time could not guarantee it would not happen again. Tow person said he towes the 2001 ford focus all the time because of the ignition problemn-so it was not just my car.

Ignition problems, cd player malfuction, was repaired but failed again 3 times to start and towed 3 times to the dealer.

2 times my ignition froze and the key would not turn to start the motor. And ihad to have the ignition replaced both times; july 16,2002 and again on october 13, 2006.

This particular problem has happened to way too many people. I firmly believe it is a safety concern.

Ignition cylindar froze, rendering the key unable to be turned.towed to have fixed and cylindar was replaced with new ford part.this is the 2nd cylindar since i bought the car...the 1st time the key was stuck and wouldn't come out of the cylindar.two days after getting the car fixed, it happened a again where the cylindar froze.the tumblers are of an inferior and defective design and it is unlikely there is a permanent remedy without a design improvement.

The ignition switch on my car is not working. If it has to be replaced, it will be the third time since i bought the car. Which was in febuary of 2002. If a locksmith shop can repair the problem, why is it that a ford dealership can't?

The ignition switch does not permit the car to start.the switch (xs4z-11582-ac cvr asy aux fl) has been replaced twice, once at 41,407 miles and again at 57,834 miles.the dealer and aaa provided a temporary remedy to the stranded driver, which is "with the key in the ignition, hit it hard with a hammer to engage the ignition assembly."aaa keeps spare ford focus ignition switches in its emergency service support trucks.

The key will not turn car's ignition.put key into ignition and it will not turn.

I had my ignition switch replace once already, having to pay 300.00 the first time, and know just the other day i went to visit my brother, and when i got ready to leave, my key would not start, my brother had left before me, so i was stranded, me and my boys for 45 minutes in 20 degree weather, i was so upset, i can not believe ford is not doing a recall, im selling this piece a crap of a car, and will never again by a ford car, and im going to spread the word on how horrible there service and cars are.

Ignition switch failure 3 times at mileages 41097, 60405, 75504.vehicle had to be towed each time.ignition switch was drilled out and replaced each time.ignition switch bound up and would not turn with key inserted.

This vehicle was purchased brand new in october 2004.six months along the car shut down as i was driving and failed to turn over.car was towed to the dealer where originally purchased and after four days car was returned to me.had no problems for the next 6 months.in february 2006 on my way home from work one evening, the car stalled once again .same situation . I had the car towed to another ford dealer.three days later got it back, they claimed the first time the car was not fixed correctly.yesterday june 26th i was about to get on the highway with my children in the car and as i am driving on the ramp to the brooklyn queens expressway it dies once again.this is the third incident with the same problem.i feel so unsafe in this car.imagine if it had shut down on me on the highway as i was driving.i would hate to think what would've happened.the car is a 2004 ford explorer sport trac.

Driver's side seat belt latch would no longer lock or latch . Whenreplacingthe latching side assembly i found theweb wascovered with an interior color matching trim piece. Running inside the trim piecewas anelectric harness which operatedthe dashboardwarning light when the harness exited the trim and wasrouted back to the center of the seat.it more or less made a90 degree turn . The electrical harnesssplit halfway through the belts webbing . To me this seemed to have weakened the restraintof the seat belt by 50% .

While standing idle for more than three hours vehiclecaught on fire, with the dashboard and engine compartment fully engulfed.although exact cause of malfunction has yet to be determined, this vehicle should never have just caught on fire.

Vehicle fire sustained on 2001 ford focus after replacement of a valve gasket cover at hollingsworth richard ford in baton rouge louisiana.following replacement of gasket, smoke was noted from the hood.dealer service representative stated that smoke was due to a cleaning solvent used after servicing the vehicle and should stop in about two days.the following day (after service), the vehicle caught on fire where the fire had to be extinguished by the local fire department.my son and i were in the vehicle and bearly escaped before the front of vehicle was engulfed in flames.report has been filed with dealer who told me that this was a matter that should be handled by the insurance.ford dealer showed nor indicated their acceptance of any liability regarding this issue.research has indicated many customer complaints of vehicles fires centered around this year of focus.

On march 7th at 3 am in the morning my 1997 ford f-150 burst into flames while it was parked in my garage.the truck had not been driven in 12 hours.i was awoken by two loud booms at 3 am.i checked my house (brand new house 1.5 years old) and there were no problems noted. I opened the door leading from the house to the garage, the f150 was totally engulfed in flames. My house was totally destroyed by the ensuing fire.

Saturday night dec 11, 2004, while driving on route 91 in ct, the car lost steering.the car started to veer right and when my daughter (and 2 small children) tried to steer the wheel just turned and turned with no results.she ended up next to a cement wall, with no damage to the car, after pumping the brakes.they had to crawl out of the window, because of the position of the car, when the tow truck came.a police cruiser stayed behind her until the tow truckgot there.i had it towed to the ford dealer that i bought it from.they found it was with the linkage and repaired it.i hate to say it, but i still have a strange feeling when i drive now.i guess that they found a bolt was loose, removed it, checked the threads and reinstalled it.i am so discouraged with this car compared to other fords that i have had.

My 1999 f-150 5.4 ltr 4wd started making loud ticking noise @ 39,000 miles.took truck to burch ford from whom i purchased vehicle & they diagnosed ticking noise as a bad cat. Cvrtr!!! they also advised me of leaking head gasket from (r)rear head and a repair cost of $3,200 w/ (12 mo./12,ooo mi.warranty !!! )on repair.when i picked up vehicle & started engine, the same loud ticking noise (only worse) was still there!!! burch ford & ford motor corp refused to even acknowledge problem or warranty their repair.while trying to get assistance, i drove vehicle bare min and aprox. 300 miles after the "repair",the engine blew # 3 spark plug out of (r) head like like a rocket & massive loss of power which nearly left me in direct path of a loaded semi truck !!!(thought i was going be crushed to death).i had truck towed back to burch ford & they faxed me a estimate of $3,200. More to replace head (now total is $ 6,400. From the two repairs!!!) and in bold print @ bottom of est. Say's ....no warranty!!! vehicle needs new engine & neither thedealershipor ford motor corp are willing to ohnor their original repair,or assist in this catastrophicproblem that research shows has occuring by the hundreds on 4.6 ,5.4 & now many v-10 engines from 1996to2004........ (8 yrs.)!!! my truck is my pride & joy & with aprox. 39,000 miles on it,my $ 40,000.00 ride may be a total loss due to current book value & contraversial $$$$$cost of repair!!! this is my 6th ford vehicle(all of which were paid off in full 1-2yrs.early!!!)in the last 9 yrs.i've been a more than loyal ford customer,...but with blatent dissregard for their bread & butter,(loyal ford customers) ford seems to be for 8 yrs. Now; grossly and w/o any remorse, far less than a loyal automobile manufacturer !!!...respectfully,...j.l.

My head gaskets in my 95 mustang 3.8 liter blew on 4-20-00, bbb investigated, and ford motor co. Agreed to do repairs free. Lanham ford in lanham md. Repalaced head gaskets. Returned my car without oil, and severly damaged the engine. They replaced engine also. My car had 73214 miles then. Now it has app. 100,600 miles, 28,00 miles later and sheehy ford in marlow heights md. States my head gaskets need to be replaced. Same problem as before, except, they are charging me for repairs.ford is aware of the ongoing problems and complaints with these head gaskets. I believe that when they initially repaired my car they put in more head gasket defects. Am i responsible for paying every 28,000 miles for head gaskets that are defected ford keeps putting in my vehicle. Nhtsa have an enormous amounts of head gaskets cpomplaints by ford. Please look into for . Thank you

Have complained to dealer/ford motor company re: foul odor when heat is running.was told that i probably had a high sensitivity to allergies.complained about having to replace breaks at 15,000 miles.had to replace oil gasket pan twice within the same year.dealership did not find this unusual.car accelerates without warning sometimes.the motor is making a rushing noise.was told that this was the normal sound of the motor although it did not start until six months down the road.had to take car back to replace back/warped windshield after having it one day.dealership will not even allow me to trade vehicle and does not acknowledge fact that too many things have gone wrong in too short a period of time.purchased vehicle in 2002. *la

I have a 1997 ford escort that is at drbn total automotive, 23420 van born rd.,dbn hts, mi 48125 for a preventative maintenance issue.rear main seal leak (very minor at this point, a little spot on trans) was found by belle tire (drbn, mi). Drbn total replaced front pump seal & rear main seal for $486.85 on 6/5/04. I returned 6/14/04 (still leaking, but now on the ground). They kept for 9 days, changed the seal & put a cover on the crank. When i picked up, i got 5 minutes away & the transmission fluid was pouring out of my car & smoking.i had car towed in 6/24/04 & it is still there. They are now putting a seal saver on the main seal.the manager of the store advised me that they did not know what else to do & they talked to the dealer of the car. The dealer claims they have never had this problem with an escort before.drbn total says they will give me my money back if they can't fix it.i disagree with that because i came in there with money & a car that was running with a problem that should have been taken care of without keeping my car for 3 going on 4 weeks (off and on) & destroying my transmission. I am handicapped & work & i was recommended this store by a usma automotive member & i pride myself in keeping up my maintenance on my car.now i'm stuck, please help!

I am the parts manager for a large taxicab co in reno nev. I have been here six years we have approximately 150 cabs mostly mercury grand marquis. Since i have been here i can account for at least 41 intake manifold replacements as i have now learned had a lawsuit with ford over the cracking of them. I also understand that there is a settlement if i have proof that these were purchased. They are and i have receipts. Is ford going to honor these as we were never notified by ford of this problem.i feel it unfair that we own almost 150 of these fords and we were never notified of the manifold problem with the cracking and the leaking. Please advise there were many different dates through out the yearsthanks nick.

Water leaking on floorboard on the passenger side front, i have taken it in to the dealer 4 times since i purchased this car, the last time was jan 2004 and i have to take it infor the 5th time on thursday for the same problem. They replaced the blower moter and charged me 50.00 dollars for my quality care deductable, and im still having the same problem.

I feel this is a safety issue due to the time of year. The vehicle di not have heat due to a the failure of the heater fan.the vehicle is only a year old and this is not covered under warranty.i feel that something like this should be looked into due to the age of the car and the fact that this component should be covered at no charge.

I own a 2004 f-250 power stroke diesel my truck has stalled numerous times that have left me in very dangerous situations such as on freeways, where highway patrol officers had escort me to the shoulder of the freeway. The dealer has replaced numerous parts on my vehicle even before i had the problem of my truck stalling. They had replaced all the recall partswhich was said to have caused the stalling of the power stroke models. Around 20,00 miles after i had bought my truck it would stall without warning. Up to this day it has stalled a total of about 12 times. Some times it would start and stall again and at times it would not start at all and had to be towed to the dealer. It has been to the dealer 5 times for them to fix it and every time they said that they had corrected the problem. They have given me flight data recorders to record the problems as it stalls. The problem was recorded and they still couldn't figure out the problem. The last time my vehicle stalled was on the 6th of july me and my family were on a vacation to yosemite towing a travel trailer when my truck stalled on a two lane highway with no shoulder so i was stalled dangerously close to opposing traffic when an on coming vehicle slammed into my mirror and broke it. It could have been alot worse in sense that my family's lives could have been in danger. I don't know what to do. All the shop foreman which i deal with at the dealer tells me to just bring my vehicle back to the dealer and they will fix the problem. But they have yet to fix this problem. I am fed up with this problem.

I want to complaint on the ford windstar headgasket/engine.4 time repair now again need repair and ford is refusing to fix it unless i pay 4100.00*la

The motor would die and then accelerate suddenly, sometimes making a cranking noise.the service report stated that there no problem.in addition, when the vehicle was parked and wanted to change from parking to drive, it would be stuck, making it difficult to change the transmission, usually producing a loud cranking noise as if the transmission was to explode.eventually, in february 2005 the motor broke down and both the motor and transmission had to be replaced.the dealer (bayamon ford) replaced the motor in march 2005 and when the transmission was received it was replaced in april 2005. The dealer had requested the new parts directly to the ford motor co. And stayed with the parts replaced.the motor and transmission had full three year guarantee since they were new.the vehicle started experiencing again the dying and acceleration approximately one year after.the vehicle was left at the dealer, mentioned above on june 2006 for filter and oil change, they found thatthe motor was leaking oil and they took down the motor and transmission to repair the leak.after the service the check engine light turned on prior to the july fourth weekend.they informed us to bring the car on july 5.on july 4, 2006 the car suddenly accelerated beyond control and crashed.total loss.the air bags never came out and the car stayed engine accelerated.

Spark-plug blew out of aluminum head on a 97' ford expedition with 155,000 mi.paid $4500.00 for a new "improved"re-built engine.spark-plug blew out again with 1,000 mi. On new engine. Ford will not talk to us; we would like some answers as we were told the "improved" design addressed the problem of the spark-plugs only having three(3) threads holding it onto the aluminum head. *nlm

Plastic intake manifold cracked at thermostat housing, thus allowing anti-freeze to leak onto the engine. I must pay for the parts and labor to replace the intake manifold at + $350.00 for total repair of problem that ford has been aware of for years !!!

I have a well maintained 2000 f-150 5.4l with 69,800 miles that spun a bearing last week. After pulling the motor and removing the oil pan, it is quite obvious that this is a manufacturing defect. The 'broken rods' that are used in this motor are of very poor quality.i contacted ford customer service and their response was, "i am sorry about your luck, but your vehicle is no longer under warranty".please advise.*la

Engine was replaced at 87,000 miles under recall for head gasket failure. 30,000 miles later engine head blew up again due to the placement of a helicoil in the re-manufactured engine. This helicoil was present in the re-manufactured engine from the factory. I consider this to be a defect in the re-manufactured engine, as the head should have been machined by the factory not just have a helicoil stuffed in. This iis the cause of the new failure and for refuses to repair. *nlm

Transmission gears breaking, timing chain loosening.

At approx. 30000 miles the car had the first incident of not starting (aug. 2001). Took it to auto shop and was told that this might be a one-time incident. About 1/2 year later the same thing happened. Had it towed to auto shop, they could not find the problem and told me to call them if it happened again. Then it happened again late 2002 and i took the car to another auto shop. They could not explain the reason either - everything seemed fine and after a while it started again and was running normally. It happened again late january 2003 and the car was towed to the latter auto shop. They replaced fuel pump and told me everything should be fine. Late february 2003 the same thing happened again. The car is at the auto shop - they are trying to locate the problem. On and off it will start. All check dates - every 5000 miles - have been followed and the car has been well taken care of at all times. Now, i am afraid of driving it - because i don't know when it is happening again. This is not acceptable, that at such low mileage i have to face this problem.

Intake manifold was replaced on 1996 thunderbird in 2000.it is now cracked, and after spending 550.00 to find that out, there is nothing ford will do even though it is on campaign (97m91).now i can not drive my car.

The inner cooler tube for the turbo blew apart, filled with oil, causing the tubro to be replaced16000 miles.8 months later it happen all over again 26500 miles

Ford f-350 power stroke diesel 2004 has stalled twice while driving down the road. Loose power steer and brakes on highway.have replaced turbo charger and worked on fuel injection system. Turbo charger is now making the same noise again. Mileage when worked on 2994/4437/18081.

Ford super duty diesel f-250 : engine cuts out and/or dies during all load conditions. Service engine soon light comes on under most severe cut-outs. Ford service has repeatedly (8 times in 2 years) worked on the issue on my truck as well as other owners trucks with whom i am acquainted. This engine failure occurs approximately once every 10 miles, and is very dangerous when trying to enter a freeway or pass on a fm road. I believe ford damaged the engine control unit when they installed their ford authorized power chip. They seem to keep replacing less costly components and giving me the truck back. I feel they are waiting for my truck to get out of the warranty period before the real story is told. That way, i will be out the money for what ever is really wrong with this vehicles. Others that i have talked to have the same issue. Perhaps its the dealership covering up, but i would not put it past ford to be behind this.

'97 ford f150 v6 4x4 4.2l, 2000 recall to replace motor. Replaced by ford. Replaced with same problematic engine. Ford knowing the problem with this engine had not been solved. Only 48,000 ml on recalled engine that was replaced. With only 48,000 ml on new engine, leads to manafold gasket leakage, head leaking andthrowing a rod. Which allowed water in the oil. Dealership refuses to assist in correctiong this problem. Ford motor co. At fault replacing a recalled engine with same engine knowing the problem would arise again.

Engine failure due to head gasket failure which was recalled by ford due to aknowlegded problem.repair service was done by ford with suppose corrected gasket.now the same problem has reoccurred, and ford will offer no assistance in correcting the problem.ford is recommending a compleat engine replacement at my own expence.

1999 ford contour, check engine" light came on, car jerking/stalling, took it to local mechanic who could not diagnose problem, then had to have car towed to local ford delaership (key scales ford, lessburg, florida), they kept car for 2 days, charged over $800 to replace the timing belt, attempted to charge an additional $165 to replece spark plugs (service declined, spark plugs replaced by local mechanic for $50), "check engine" light still on, car still jerking/stalling. Afraid to drive car out of immediate neighborhood. Local mechanic suggested possibly catalytic converter problem but said it could not even be tested because of the position of the converter is in the middle of the manifold and is inaccessible. 1997 explorer 4.0 sohc purchased in 1999.made knocking noise went to dealershipseveral times under warranty and was told my motor was pulled and tensioner (pulley, cam tensioner) was replaced.after recieving notification from ford of "in warranty" service bulletin, different dealer said it hadnt been replace or documented by previous service.so,it was supposedley replaced again (2 time).still making the noise after so long, and told several times "we cant find anything wrong" kept driving.now, i am in dealership for about 10th time and my tesnioners, possibly my timing chain, and possible other components (hopefully not motor)need to be replaced again(3time,more damage)??!!this time theres no warranty or reason why i shouldent "have to pay" so it is costing me $1600 so far...possibly more if there was more damage.this must be documented because i have tried in good faith and numerous, tiring efforts to repair this from day one!do not want to have to replace motor in near future like others.

Service engine light on code#430 and #340. Told by pacifico ford i have an emission failure and i need 2 catalytic converters and a cam sensor and cam synchronizer on 1/11/2006 at 89044 miles.the dealer replaced the #2 cam partsunder warranty on 11/04/2002 at 55616 miles.

Pick up wont pass n.y.s. Inspection ,due to a false reading on computer that your stations use its cost me $350.00 so far everything safety wise works passes except a emission reading , all safety thing s pass . The truck don't smoke runs good except this stupid emission thing that reads not ready. It says go 60 mph let cost, then speed it up , now you know 60 mph is pretty fast for a truck. I'm a cdl license holder , and i'm sry i'm not going to speed on the rds in my area. I'm certified truck driver by the new york state department of transportation , who ever came up with this should use there own car for work and see the price we have to pay as a maintenance worker for new york, new york made this law now tell me what to do it s been to service stations ,dealers , and they cant find the problem, please help me with this since you made the law.

I have to replaced 02 sensors 3 times in less than 50000 miles.

2004 ford wagon e350 with floor lowered by vantage mobility int. For handicap people.during stop and go driving like traffic jams while pulling a trailer the floor between front seats gets more than hot enough to burn your foot. Sliding door opener has broken 6 times leaving the door free to slide open and shut. I keep a bungy cord to tie it up but interior lights come on and off when using bungy cord. The original latch by ford was removed to install the door opener. Split drive shaft installed to make room for under vehicle lift by braun corphas a low roar to it. Bicycle type chain for the sliding door opener at wheelchair lift drags acrosspart of door jamb.(no pulley or sprocket). Paid $48,000 for this new 2004 model in april, 2005 i'm asking for my money back.please help us.

I am currently involve in a dispute with ford motor compny regarding repairs to my 2002 ford explorer. In brief, the truck was diagosed by ford with internal engine failure, ford claims thatsent the truck to them with (5) five quarts of oil missing, i have doucumentation showing that ford did the last oil change within the timeline of maintanence as per ford maintantience manual. Ford is claiming that i am responsible for thefull amount verbally estamated at $5000.00.

The egr vacuum sensors and switches on the engine have had to be replaced twice on my 1999 ford explorer - once in 2002 and then again in 2005. Ford is the only maker of these parts and i feel that ford is selling faulty parts - which is extremely dangerous

I own a 2001 ford taurus the car won't shift into gear is this problem going to be recalled?23,000 milessame vehicle has 23,000 miles the egr valve has been replaced twice is this going to be recalled?*la

Intake manifold was replaced on 1996 thunderbird in 2000.it is now cracked, and after spending 550.00 to find that out, there is nothing ford will do even though it is on campaign (97m91).now i can not drive my car.

Ford windstar 1999- transmission, rack and pinion and manifoldford would not help so i took them to small claims court in ontario and won full cost to all three matters.

Ford f150 4.2 v6 w/110k miles failed in my driveway upon starting two days ago. After turninig the ignition i heard loud knocking and banging cominig from the engine and shut it down.i never got a recall i hear there were two of them.i called the dealer but received no help. The failure is prevalent and consistent with no official admittance yet from ford that i've found. The dealership even explained to me they understood it as an engineering defect of expectation. What else does it take? so i ask nhtsa for your help please!!!!

Had catastrophic intake manifold failure while on vacation.fomoco has a recall on this component (97m91) but refused to provide relief.as i understand the recall of this known problem, ford will only replace when it fails, but it must fail in a specific time frame.this was a silent recall as ford never publicized it. I had attempted a preventative replacement as i was aware of the inherent problem -- again my local mercury dealer (king - gaithersburg, md) would only replace when the manifold failed.well it did while i was on vacation hundreds of miles from home.as this was a known manufactor's problem from the date of installation, replace must be done when the problem first comes to ford's knowledge.instead, when issuing the recall (march1999) ford chose to ignore the problem until the consumer brings it to the dealership's attention.only then would the dealer acknowledge the recall existed.

Local ford dealership has not replied to email requesting additional investigation.

My intake manifold cracked and found out that my car was on a recall for this problem but my year thunderbird has the same problems with other ford owners and found out that there was an upgrade in the manifold. So if there was a modification made in the manifoled why isn't ford recalling this part and why did i have to pay for their mistake?

Buzz from front while going slow/ thump/clicking noise from under truck it's been replaced 3 times, thump feeling when tacking off.

I own a 2002 taurus with 40000 miles and twice know i've had work done on my blower unit. The first time i lost all settings excepthigh. The dealer stated that it was a bad resistor and replaced the resistor. Two weeks later the same problem happened. The dealer stated that there was a problem with water getting into the blower unit. He will put in a modification and replaced the blower unit. A week later we had bad rain in new england and there was an inch of water on the passenger side of the car. The car will be going in for service again for this problem.

*nlm

Thank you

The rear end was leaking fluid on several occassions, had the rear differentail seal replaced two times, which did not fix the problem.eventually the rear end had to be replaced.rear end now shutters and shakes less then 10,000 miles after it was replaced.

While leaving work alittle over a year ago, my 2000 ford focus'key became stuck in the ignition.upon inserting the key in the ignition, i could neither get it to turn in the cylinder nor remove it.the car was towed to airport marina ford in los angeles and repaired free of charge, as it was still covered under it's standard 3 year/30,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty.(unfortunately, i have lost my service paperwork during a recent move.i will attempt to retrieve the information from either airport marina ford or ford motor company to confirm the date, work performed and the mileage of my car at the time.)my car had not given any indication of possible failure prior to this event.on january 6, 2005, while on an errand for work, the ignition cylinder became stuck.this time, i was able to remove the key and reinsert freelybut could not turn the key.the car was towed to sopp ford in los angeles and repaired at my expense.the old ignition cylinder was removed and a new cylinder was installed.i also received a new key and was advised not to use the old one.parts and labor resulted in a bill for $400.39.i called ford motor company's customer service hotline to find out if there had been a recall for this defect and to find out if i was eligible for any remuneration.the operator took my information, told me that there was no recall for this defect (which they officially do not recognize) and informed me that i might be eligible for remuneration if a recall was issued at a later date.i was also informed that repairs provided by ford are warrantied for either 12 months or 12,000 miles.i did not ask for nor was given the old ignition cylinder due to the fact that the process of removing it required drilling it out; there was not much left of the old cylinder except for some metal filings.i lost a day's wage as a result of not having transportation.

I have a 2002 ford escape, manual transmission with 66,000 miles on it. Coming home from a weekend trip the clutch stuck and would have to be pulled up with your foot when having to slow down in traffic. We were able to pull off the road and call for assistance and towing to a garage where we were told that the master cylinder had went out.the mechanic said that this was very unusual for it to happen to a car this new. Have there been any other complaints similar in nature to this?

Passenger side window continues to jump out of place causing window not to roll down.when first bought car, we paid over 300 to replace entire frame and glass. Only a short time after this it continued to do the same thing every two or three weeks we are having to have the glass put back into tracts. This is not normal and think it should be recalled and fixed.

Front brake rotors failure. *la

Problem:ford dvd entertainment system and the ford dealer installed satellite radio do not work with the dual play (back seat should be able to watch a movie while front seat gets to listen to satellite radio). We found out through our 2 weeks of (the phone run around) investigation that this problem has been on going for 2 years.we also found out that everything ford has with dual play the dvd/cd factory entertainment doesn't work with satellite radio, navigation system, ipod interface ect.ford has told us that it is our problem because in their owners manual it doesn't say they work together???why then is it an option???ford doesn't want to help us, they don't want to purchase back the dvd player.why is it big companies can take advantage of us blue collar hard working folks?what does an average person do, i purchased a $50,000 vehicle that is an investment and ford ignores us.do you know where i can get helped? thank you very much trena anderson gillette, wyoming.

I am an original owner of a 1999 ford contour se sport. About 2 years ago there was a maintenance recall for the contour's dash coming up due to bad glue. I took my vehicle to the nearest ford dealership and found that my dash was so bad it had to be replaced. My car was still under warranty at this time also. Now my dash is comming up just like it did before, evidently the dash they replaced it with still had the defective glue in it. I contacted ford explaining this to them and finding out that the maintenance order had ended last year. I told them about it being replaced and doing the same thing it done before while also explaining my concern about the passenger side airbag releasing at any given time. This could very well hurt someone like myself who has had open heart surgery and then had to have my chest rewired due to my sternum not fusing back together correctly not to mention what this could do to one of my children. They refuse to repair my dash even though i did what the letter told me and couldn't have avoided this problem from happening again. I didn't make the dash nor did imake the glue, but i upheld my responsabilities. This is a safety concern and should be repaired by ford at there expense not mine.

Since purchase i have traveled 80000 miles and have replaced the rotors 3 times and the pads 4 times on the front. The most current time the vehicle shakes so bad when i apply the brake that i have to alter my driving while stopping to avoid colliding with other vehicles. I have purchased the high heat rotors and ceramic pads to have the best possible parts on the vehicle and it still eats them up too often.

I have a 2002 cougar with 60k miles and i've already replaced the fuel pump, power steering pump, and now the heater core is clogged. Although lincoln/mercury is the only one to work on the car, the warranty wont cover a clog.they will cover a leak...but not a clogg.how asinine is that? fidelity warranty service is a joke!

I have had my transmission in my 2002 ford explorer rebuilt by a local ford dealership at 53,000 miles and a ford re-manufactured transmission installed at this dealership at 69,000.this local dealership has replaced the transfer case twice, drive axle, and universal joints between 69,000 and 74,000 to correct an ongoing reported shifting problem with the transmission.my transmission failed at 109,000, again, much to my dismay.the dealership responded that it was a manufacturer's issue and suggested that i contact ford.upon contacting ford motor company, i was told that it was a dealership issue as the dealership had installed the transmission and may had done so incorrectly.i took my vehicle to an independent transmission specialist who replaced the transmission and indicated that the previous transmission was, in fact, defective.

1995 ford mustang, 6 cyl. The rubber seal between the gas tank and the filler tube is leaking.this is the second time in two years that this has happened. The seal was replaced two years ago, and will have to be replaced again. The leak is substantial,it is a steady drip, 1/2 gallon per hour.

I drove and parked the 2004 ford focus about 40 mins from my home. About 2 hours later, i went to get in my car and the steering wheel was locked. I inserted the key and it would not turn.several people tried jiggling the steering wheel, stepping on the brake all to no avail. I called aaa and ford roadside and was told by both that it would need to be towed and that they could do nothing at this time (sat. Evening/ sun morning of columbus day weekend).

Check engine light has come on 4 times since i have owned the car first time my machanic cleared p0460 code. 2nd timeford cleared p0460 code 3 rd time i unhooked negetive battery postand cleared

I had to replace the front sway bar links on my 1996 ford taurus three times over the last five years.

Ford gave no reason for complete trasmission failure. Fortunately sllipping and failure occured during transmission warm up in drive way. Complete transmission replacement at 40,000 mi at owner expense.

The key will not turn car's ignition.put key into ignition and it will not turn.

Ford windstar 1999- transmission, rack and pinion and manifoldford would not help so i took them to small claims court in ontario and won full cost to all three matters.

Ford f-350 power stroke diesel 2004 has stalled twice while driving down the road. Loose power steer and brakes on highway.have replaced turbo charger and worked on fuel injection system. Turbo charger is now making the same noise again. Mileage when worked on 2994/4437/18081.

Experienced a very loud squealing noise that appeared to be coming from the front wheels - this usually occurred at speeds >60 mph.when the steering wheel was turned slightly to the right, the noise would cease.when the wheels were straightened again, the noise would continue.took the vehicle to the dealer with no issues found.i had suggested at that time that the problem appeared to be front wheel bearing related or something of that nature - no issues found with the vehicle at that time.the problem continued.took the vehicle back 2 months later - reported that this was a known issue for the bearings to be replaced (and some other non-specific work with the hubs).this is listed in the recall section for this vehicle as a known issue since 2004!!why was this not taken care of previously under a recall and why did they not see the bulletin on this the first time i took the vehicle in?

While standing idle for more than three hours vehiclecaught on fire, with the dashboard and engine compartment fully engulfed.although exact cause of malfunction has yet to be determined, this vehicle should never have just caught on fire.

I went to insurt my key into the started and my car would not turnover after the wrong key was partly insurted, i thought that that pats system tripped, but after researching the issue further, i realised that numerious people ahve been having this issue with ford focuses, that their is a know problem with this part of the car, i am going to have to pay 300 dollars or more to fix a known issue from ford.

I have to replaced 02 sensors 3 times in less than 50000 miles.

The rear passenger wheel bearing failed causing smoke and almost a fire.i had the recall done at tri county ford in mauldraugh ky, and this is the second time it had happened.i went to les pinkham lincoln mercury and bought new wheel bearings and had my personal mechanic replace the bearing. He stated that the brake drum and wheel are possible warped and might need replaceing. I also want a refund on the bearings and labor cost for the mechanic to replacement of bearings.

I have a 2002 ford taurus..starting shaking while driving at 8,500 miles. Took it to ford and they stated rotors were warped and replaced them.at approx 18,000 miles they warped again. Ford would not cover the warrant so i ended up paying to have them resurfaced.i filed a complaint with the attorney generals office and ended up getting reimbursed for the repair.i'm now at 28,000 miles and they are shot, unable to be resurfaced and must be replaced.needless to say i'm not going to deal with ford any longer and will replace with a higher quality after market product.i have found and exorbanent ammount of other taurus owners online that are having the same problems.i was wondering if you could look into it and the feasability of issueing a recall.the warping is pretty common from what i can see and causes the vehicle to shake violently when attempting to stop , and is extremely bad when stopping from highway speeds

Parked on a slight slope with the engine off, my 97 ford explorer rolled back 5 feet by itself, coming close with coming traffic!

I am having to replace the right wheel cylinder in my 95 nissan quest for the 2nd time in less than 3 years. I was told that the first time i fixed it that it would be a long time before i would ever have to replace it again, well now it is less than 3 yrs later and i am having to replace it again. There seems to be a problem and i would like some answers.

There was no failure or injuries.just a problem with gas mileage. This vehicle gets the worse gas mileage of any auto i ever owned except my 1969 plymouth gtx 440. I keep complaining but the problem is said to be with the engine type. Z-tec and that is why on the 2005 they finally changed the engine. I get approx 15-17 mpg in the city no air on and highway is approx 22-25.i have yet to get close to 300 miles on a tank full of fuel.terrible terrible .i have paper from window and it states fuel mileage should be approx 25 city 30 highway. This vehicle not close.runs well though. I would call this a failure of gas mileage factory estimate number of times in box below is conservative. I figured closer to 275-300

Automatic tranmission failure at 29,131 miles.

*la

Purchased new 2003 expediton eddie bauer in 10/03. Doors rattle as though they are not closed. Have taken vehicle back to dealership several times (they've had vehicle for close to six weeks total). Problem still exits.soo much brake dust on front wheels that they are pitting. Dealership says ford won't cover the wheels becuase of dust.

I purchased a new ford focus in july of 2001.my wife uses the car to drive on the highway to and from work.we have had the car for 18 months and took the car to the laird noller dealership in lawrence for the 30,000 check up with 33,000 miles on the car.after spending $300 for the check up, we were told that the brake pads and rotors need to be replaced.i have spoken with two mechanics and have been told that the rotors should not need to be replaced on a car that is driven primarily on the highway since there is not a lot of stop and go driving.there a dozens of listings on the intert and the nhtsa website of the same complaint on their ford focus vehicles.i was told by the dealership that ford puts thin rotors on the focus to begin with so they have to be replaced very early.i was also learned from an employee at the dealership that the person that performed the service on our focus has had trouble meeting his quota of upselling repairs on cars that come in for their check up.after picking up the car, the entire dashboard was shaking and the front tires were making noises.when we brought the car in it was fine , after we picked it up it sounded horrible.we called back up to the dealership and were told to drive it for a few days and it should be fine.after waiting the two days, the brake pads began to grind into the rotors and the car did not drive well at all.i have spoken with ford and with the dealership and they have told me that there is nothing they can do for me and that i am responsible for the repairs.ford knows that there is a problem with the rotars they are using on the focus, but is not willing to do anything about it.i am worried that are not other problems with the car that may make it unsafe.i have two small children and am worried about driving them around in the car.i believe that with the number of complaints i have seen, ford should be told to initiate a recall on the rotars.

My windshield had serious distortions throughout the entire glass.varying degress of magnification caused eye strain and headaches.it was dangerous driving the vehicle in this condition and not a pleasant experience.my dealership replaced the windshield only to have the new one be even worse.the new windshield is so bad it's as though i'm looking through a wet windshield that has not been wiped.the dealership has acknowledged the replacement is bad and that it might be indicative of a larger problem. They plan on contacting ford.i've had the car for only one week at the time of typing this.

I was on the highway so i put on the cruise control, when i hit the brakes the car slowed down, then when i reasled the brakes the car radily speed up, and it is hard to shut it off.

During the summer of 2003 while driving one evening, the rear window of my 2002 ford windstar shattered (believing it to be caused by hooligans, the police were notified).the rear window was replaced by the dealer-recommended glass installers using the oem recommended parts.approximately 18-months after replacement of the window, the vehicle was rear-ended necessitating replacement of the entire hatch.this replacement was made by the dealer.this evening (7/14/05), while the vehicle was parked in the garage, the rear window again shattered.

I feel this is a safety issue due to the time of year. The vehicle di not have heat due to a the failure of the heater fan.the vehicle is only a year old and this is not covered under warranty.i feel that something like this should be looked into due to the age of the car and the fact that this component should be covered at no charge.

I own a 2002 ford explorer xls bought new from the dealership.there was a recall issued in october 2004 for the rear lift glass hinge (04s20).i have been waiting over 2 months for parts to be available.it was finally repaired on 1/6/05 at keating ford dealership.today 1/9/05 my wife had driven to the gym and was called to the front desk.crackling had been heard by fellow gym members prior to the rear glass shattering to pieces and metal frame is buckled.no evidence of vandalism was present.the new parts must have been defective or installed improperly.i have filed a claim with my insurance company, liberty mutual. The representative stated she had a call a few daysago about a similar incident from another ford explorer owner.i have contacted my dealer and left a message but unfortunately, being a sunday, it is closed.

Started car in parking lot, rumbled violently.put car into drive, turning out of parking lot car dies and am able to coast to the side of the road.fuel pump had gone out on car.new pump directly from ford dealership was put into car. 3 weeks later i was at a stop light, car started to rumble again, was able to creep through the intersection before car died in the middle of a 4 lane highway.fuel pump and fuel pump fuse needed to be replaced.

The ignition of my 2000 ford focus i was stuck at dallas airport after a job interview for about three hours in 90 degree heat. It was repaired and locked up again this time in front of my hours.

We own a 2000 ford contour se.the top of the dashboard near the windshieldseparated and curled up, causing poor visibility.i have check for a recall or reported other problems an found only a handful of compliants.we believe this to be a manufacturer's defect.visually the glue used to secure the dashboardfailed.what is our next step to fix this problem?

2001 ford explorer sport 4x4 has 2-3 shift failure causing car engine rpm to rise severelywithout shifting transmission into 3rd gear. This first happened while getting on the highway leaving me hopelessly in the right lane as traffic rapidly approached from behind, i was fortunate to be able to get onto the shoulder. I have come to find out today that this has been and continues to be a well known problem by ford for years which has yet to be addressed! there is even a tech service bulletin for this problem! besides ripping off consumers for outrages recurring repair costs, this is a real safety issue. Is it going to take someone getting severely hurt before something is done.

Ignition lock was jammed on my ford focus 2002 and i had to replace it twice so far. It cost me close to $400canadian. I only have 40,000 miles on it . This has been such a frequent event. Ford is not taking any responsibility yet.

The dashboard became detached from the car.found out that there was a recall after it had expired.we were never notified of the recall.the car is very hard to drive because the dashboard is warped and is so high up it is hard to see over.ford is a piece of junk company and will not do anything about this.i will never buy another ford vehicle again.they are a terrible company and will not deal with the problems of their cars.gee,,,,i wonder why they stopped making the contour?????

My ford explorer transmission it was at 36000 miles, my car was tuned and serviced as shudule, and it cost a total of $1700.00 to fix.which the car is only 2 year old. The air condition stop working in december of 2003 and at the time my car was barely 1 year old thier has been many other concern with my explorer that i am making $500.00 payment on. I belived i have purchase a defected car.

No help.

The design of passenger side airbag cover breaks front windshield on escort zx2's. The cover flips up when it could flip down without damaging the windshield. Every zx2 i've seen or heard about where airbags deployed has had to have windshield replaced.a real money maker for dealerships or glass shops.

When you unlock the doors using the electronic remote the right rear passenger door will open itself without using the handle to manually open it.this is a ford taurus station wagon lx model purchased in 1994. The reason i checked property damage was because a guy at a firestone tire place had the car and it poped open on him as he started the car and didn't know of the problem and the door opened wide as he was taking the car out of the repair shop. The door will also open as you turn the car off and it unlocks all the doors. When the unlock operation happens is when the door will open by itself.

Driver's side seat restraint (sholder harness) doesn't function.1990 ford probe lx. Was issue of a recall in 1996. Subject restraint has failed three times since purchase of car. First repair was under vehicle warranty. Second repair took place prior to recal and was paid for by owner. Third failure has occured withing the last year and local dealer does not take responsibility.

We own 2005 hurricane motorhome .built by four winds, ford chassis.we order spare tire .when we brought to company to install hitch and car dolly we were informed can not do."frame cut" we contacted four winds to no avail, ford motor co. Statedourwarranity void. Need repaired to meet highway safety guidelines and to ensure this unit safe for our grandkids.

In july 2005 myself and my children were driving my 2000 ford focus lx on the freeway and we were in the fast lane when our car started to stall and were unable to get gas to the car.we later took it to be checked and found out the fuel pump module was not putting fuel into the car and we had to replace it.we later found out that it had been replaced once before.so we had it fixed and on may 30 2006 also driving on the freeway by car began to stall and not want to move well.so once again i took it to be looked at and found out that the same problem as before with the fuel pump module was acting up again and needed to be replaced.i have not fixed it yet due to already fixing it within a years time and have found out that there was a recall on my car and found out the recall was not done on my car due to the vin # not being included in the original recall bulletin.

Seat belt problem.2004 ford ranger 2 wheel drive. V-6, ext cab, the seat belt alarm does not work after it is driven a few hundred feet, can un-buckle belt with no indication it is un-buckled, driver and passenger belt, verified this problem with another ranger at the dealer, ford mt co knows of this problem because i notified them and receiver a phone call about this problem, this may be a systemic problem with 04 rangers and is safety related.

While driving at 55 mph,my new 2004 f350 6.0 super duty dieseltransmission locked uo,. Causing the vehicle to skid out of control at a intersection.had vehicle towed to dealership where a new transmission was installed .two mouths later, vehicle started stalling while at idle and while driving, causingloss of steering and brakes.vehicle again taking to dealer were new codes from ford where put in computer. This did not correct the problem. Returned vehicle to dealer again mechanic not available. Vehicle returned with no diagnostics. Then three days later vehicle back at dealership for another transmission. With only 12,000 miles on vehicle. I fear for the safety of family and others while driving this vehicle.

Fuel filler hose assembly has failed twice on 1994 ford ranger pickup.first hose assembly failed at 73,000 miles on may 5, 2001 causing large amounts of fuel to spill when filling the tank and when driving.the replacement hose assembly failed again after 55,000 miles on it on march 3, 2006.this failure was at the exact same place on the hose and also caused large amounts of fuel to spill when filling tank and when driving.first hose was replaced by a ford dealership at a cost to me of $650 and the 2nd hose replaced by an independent shop at a cost of $480.both times, i paid for the replacements.the replacement hoses were all genuine ford products.these hose appear to be defective in manufacture since both failures are in the exact same place on them.ford refuses to discuss the matter of defective hoses and the extreme fire danger they pose.i have the most recently replaced cracked hose.

Engine starts misfiring and loses power completely and shuts off. You can turn ignition off and restart engine and the engine runs good for a few minutes. The fuel rail sensor corrects this problem, but i've installed two sensors in four months.

Headlights on 1993 lincoln mark viii are ineffective when used for night driving.inability to see has resulted in numerous "close calls" and has made the car unsafe to drive after dark.

2 times my ignition froze and the key would not turn to start the motor. And ihad to have the ignition replaced both times; july 16,2002 and again on october 13, 2006.

The ignition switch on my car is not working. If it has to be replaced, it will be the third time since i bought the car. Which was in febuary of 2002. If a locksmith shop can repair the problem, why is it that a ford dealership can't?

On 12/10/05, i purchased a new 2006 ford explorer.yesterday, for the fifth time, the vehicle has not been able to start.i brought it in to ford on 01/11/06, they replaced the battery and told me it would not happen again.it happened again last night.

Ignition switch failure 3 times at mileages 41097, 60405, 75504.vehicle had to be towed each time.ignition switch was drilled out and replaced each time.ignition switch bound up and would not turn with key inserted.

I have on numerous occasions have had trouble with my rear drivers side door open by itself.cannot lock or latch. Have to hold it with straps.

On february 4, 2004, i parked my ford focus mini-wagon in fornt of my home,at evening hours a resident from the bldg. I reside in knocked onmy door tellingthat my car caught on fire.the neighbor called fire dept for me as i ran to my carthe fire dept. Was already there to put out the flames. The firmen had informed me that my car had an electrical problem, that i should consult with the dealer.i made a police report, i took photos of my car, i called the golf mill ford dealer in niles ill. I spoke with the sale manager and service mechanic, they both stated that this is my problem not theirs. They also informed me that i needed to contact my car insurance. I contacted my car insurance and the consultant informed me that my car caught on fire due to an electrical problem that i do not need to contact them, i need to contact the dealer. So, basically they had me calling back and forth. About 6 days later the dealer had tooken my car to there mechanics and they had rebuild it without letting me know and they sold it. Now, they want me to continue paying the payments. I was faithful to them in all the aspect of the lease and payments. But they couldn't be faithful to me at all. I feel they had drisciminated me,they did not want to deal with this, they sent me a letter informing me that they apaologize for what happen. They told me to call consumer affairs,i did exactly that, they took my information and i never received a response to my case ever since. I want my money return back to me, i paid these people for 1 year in a half of payments. I tried calling so many attorneys to help me and no one wants to help me. If you know someone that can, i am in desperate in need of help with this situation. Thank you so much.

After taking my expedition for service for an inoperable horn, the service department indicated that the air bag was defective.

All guages went full tilt, abs light came on, loss of power to electrical systems, vehicle was towed twice for same problem. Once vehicle turnedoff would not start just clicking. Dealer replaced battery twice.

1999 ford expedition burned in garage, destoying garage and damaging house. Not driven for over 12 hours. Burned so badly investigators could not determine how it started. Recall was done for cruise control switch.

Wipers come onby themselves from time to time.8jb

I purchased a 2003 ford explorer new, ever since owning the vehicle, i believe the first 6 months it was in the shop for repairs.issues with windows, paint bubbling after having the protective coat put on it.there have been far to many issues with this vehicle to even recall.i tried once to get it replaced under the lemon law and was told it did not qualify.the vehicle has only 39,000 miles on it and already has had 2 rack and pinions replaced.when i asked ford if there was a recall they said they knew nothing about it, when i said how can a 36,000 mile vehicle already need 3 rack in pinions there response was well its actually only two, i said no it originally had a rack in pinion when i purchased it so it is on its 3rd.i have had to have the electrical repaired in the rear window as well and now it has stopped working again.when i called to set up an appt. Was told i had to take it to the service dept. That fixed it the first time, they told me know because they did not honor my warranty because it was not a ford warranty.i call the shop back complaining why was i sent there, they said because it was the original shop and they should have serviced it.this is the problem, you take the vehicle in with problems no one can seem to find what is wrong with it and when they do they fix it and it breaks again.so at this point my rear window does not open, i am on my 3rd rack in pinion, have had issues with the gauges not working and so on and so on.this is the worst vehicle i have ever owned. Here i purchased a new one so i wouldn't have to worry about car problems and that is all i have had since day one.i would not recommend a ford to anyone nor would i purchase another one.sorry thing for me, was if i did not pay cash for it, i would have defaulted on the loan and they could have kept the vehicle.

My car has a eletrical or computer problem which al packer ford cannot seem to fix. I,ve had two recalls they had to take care of so far .when i purchase my car i brought the extended warranty which i thought took care of everything including a loaner car which they nerver even offered for my inconvinece

The interior light continues to remain on and the dash readout indicates that there is a door open when there actually isn't. As a result, the driver's side door will not lock as long as the car believes there is an unlocked door.

Required to purchase & have three (3) clock spring/wiring harness assemblies that control (1) cruise control (2) horn (3) airbag (4) shorted out ignition key assy in the last four (4) years.

Not too many years ago, the us had regulations concerning relative height of automobile bumpers and headlights.today we have automobiles (suv's) whose bumpers match the top of my trunk lid (2003 jaguar) and whose lights shine directly into the back window of all my cars.at night when one of these suv's comes up behind me, i will stop to let them by so i too can drive at night.how come?arnie brandon, bellevue, wa. 98006. *nlm

2002 ford explorer1. Abs sensor light came on in march 2003. Took car to ford dealership and they replaced it. Abs light went out for a short time. Then, aug, 2003, abs light came on again. Took into a dealership, they replaced the sensor. Abs light went out. But it came back on again soon afterward. In the meantime, my warranty expires.2. Failure to adequately diagnose this problem in the first place has lead to a bad rear hub assembly. Now i have a repair outside my warranty that should have been taken care of in the first place.3. Ford refuses to acknowledge responsibility for their faulty problem. They require that i pay for a diagnosis to find out what the problem is. Being that this is related to something that they have a history on during my warranty period, they should be responsible for the repairs and costs.

Vehicle was parked in front of my home--approximately around 6:00 am the vehicle caught on fire with no keys in the ignition!

Transmission gears breaking, timing chain loosening.

This particular problem has happened to way too many people. I firmly believe it is a safety concern.

I drive a 1999' ford taurus.upon entering the freeway i noticed that the car was accelerating on its own.car does not have cruise control.i thought that the accelerator cable was sticking.i had the car checked out for the sticky cable but found out there was no problem with the cable.between then and now i have gotten the problem fixed from the ford dealership twice (paid couple of hundred dollars each time) ,and the car was acting up again(for the third time).then a friend of mine remined me of this show he had seen where people had reported their taurus's accelerating suddenl,y but ford motor co. Passed the buck on the drivers (they accidently may have stepped on the gas pedal).this was a real problem with the taurus and i have talked to the dealership, but each time i get an unsatisfactory answer from them.

The problem with the truck is the gear shift has broken / the 4-wheel drive has gone out, all the lights and door locks have stopped working right automatic lights go out while driving down the road.air/heat doesn't work only air is from windows or off the motor, defrost doesn't work, transducer is out on rear wheels and brakes what else i can think of i will let you know soon any suggestions and no ford dealer can find the problem?spent 300 dollars for new gm module not working? no change got any suggestions need help fixing to trade truck for new on and we only owe 4900 on it.

Ignition problems, cd player malfuction, was repaired but failed again 3 times to start and towed 3 times to the dealer.

When i put the key in the ignition, it would not turn.the steering wheel locked and the ignition switch froze.i had to have it repaired for $300.apparently the locksmith is making a fortune off the ford focus with this problem.

I recently rented a ford taurus from hertz with "never-lost" gps system.hertz has mounted the unit on a metal bracket coming out from under a center instrument panel and extending left into the passenger foot well area. This is a ridged piece of metal that during an accident is highly likely to cut a passenger knee cap or leg.these units were previously on a flexible stalk.i advised the agent upon return of the vehicle but wonder if it will be followed up.

Ignition problems, cd player malfuction, was repaired but failed again 3 times to start and towed 3 times to the dealer.

Popping noise from both front tie rod ends. This has been going on since i bought the car new. Took to dealer unresolved. Having positive crank case pressure in oil pan keeps pushing oil dip stick out of tube, on 4.6 l 3v. Cd player on shaker 500 audio sytems stops working will not read cd's and at times will not play radio.

The dashboard heater vent buckled and popped my heater vent right off. *nlm

The iac valve in my 2000 gt mustang has gone bad. Causing problems with idle and cold startup.this seems to be a problem all across the board with many mustang owners. This problem needs to be put into the light and a recall shoudl be made.

1.events leading up to the failure -on more than one occasion while having my car at the dealer while in warranty i made note to the service individual, that some thing felt wrong when my car would shift in to another gear while moving .nothing was ever found wrong or any documentation was made.2.failure and its consequences-as my vehicle reached 43,900 milesmy transmission started to shift even more harder and sometimes would not go in to gear.the rear would vibrate to the point where it shook the vehicle hard.3.what was done to correct the failure-when vehicle was taken to the dealer it was quickly brought to my attention that my vehicle was out of waranty and after diagonosing the problem that the trans assy solenoid had to be replaced. I had no choice but to fix this problembecause the vehicle was up on a lift . This cost me a total of $976.91. I feel that i was led on until my warranty expired and that ford should covered the cost of this problem because this is a fairly new vehicle and it was not my fault that this part went bad.this part should be recalled.

Dangerous crack occurred in 2002 ford explorer rear liftgate in dec. 2002, was repaired.recurred in sep. 2005, and ford refused to repair 2 weeks after warranty had expired, even though part was defective and vehicle had only 28,000 miles.applique may come off, threatening structural integrity of liftgate and glass.internet shows dozens of customers had exactly the same problem.

I bought a 1991 ford explorer 1 1/2 years ago from a neighbor who said he was tired of putting brakes on it. Since he had just done it again, i didn't expect any trouble for a while. 17,000 miles later, all brake pads, calipers etc., needed to be replaced again. It is averaging 20,000 miles on this vehicle.the mechanic said this model was "bad for pushing the pads off the shoes."while paying my bill, i noticed another similar vehicle on the rack getting the same thing done.is this an epidemic or am i just unlucky?i have contacted ford customer assistance and they say there are no recalls on this subject and nothing is wrong. Right! vin is [xxx]i can't get this to send without entering something on the equipment pages which does not apply. I purchased my 2001 ford focus in october 2001.in april 2003, i had to get the front brakes, pads, shoes and rotors replaced.this is after i had always taken my car in for scheduled maintenance.i was told that none of this was covered. I was out of over $400.the same thing has happened again 13 months later.everything needs to be replaced.the majority of my driving is highway and i can't get an explanation from ford.i purchased a lemon.the switch also broke on my turn signals.it would not automatically turn off.this happen in feb. 2003.again, a year later, the same thing has happened.someone needs to look into this. *mr

Ford company sold me a defunct engine, has 10,000 mile on the engine, that thay sold me. Thay well not stan behine it. The dealer here in perry said that it was defunct, but could not help me becouse it was ford motor company warranty, not there. Can you help me?thanks.

My intake manifold cracked and found out that my car was on a recall for this problem but my year thunderbird has the same problems with other ford owners and found out that there was an upgrade in the manifold. So if there was a modification made in the manifoled why isn't ford recalling this part and why did i have to pay for their mistake?

Plastic intake manifold cracked at thermostat housing, thus allowing anti-freeze to leak onto the engine. I must pay for the parts and labor to replace the intake manifold at + $350.00 for total repair of problem that ford has been aware of for years !!!

04 explorer had harsh reverse.rpm's went to 7 shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear.ford refused to do anything even though they had a "customer satisfaction campaign",fords alternative to a recall, that expired last year to put an additive in the transmission fluid because the put in the wrong type. Had the solenoid replaced once before.ford claimed it to be normal wear and tear. Cost1300.00 to repair bad solenoid, and 2 piston and rods.

To whom it may concern, own a 2000 ford focus zx3, i have had this car in for more repairs & recalls then i can count.the most recent visit to the dealer (colley ford, glendora, ca.) for a recall (program) and to have the brakes serviced was on 10/02/2004, i was told after 3 days that the clutch had a burnt smell, the battery had to be replaced, as well as the spark plug wires, some hose, and that the brake rotors would have to be turned (this is the second set of rotors on this car that has 37000 miles).please help me i am at the end of my rope with this car and don't know where to turn.i cant win with the dealer or ford motor company.....what should i do, what can i do? the fealer will not help & ford will not help.i still have not been able to have the car fit yet, im waiting to hear from the dealer.please help thank you for your time regards jeri williams24/7 (626) 272-9518 .

My 1999 f-150 5.4 ltr 4wd started making loud ticking noise @ 39,000 miles.took truck to burch ford from whom i purchased vehicle & they diagnosed ticking noise as a bad cat. Now; grossly and w/o any remorse, far less than a loyal automobile manufacturer !!!...respectfully,...j.l.

Driver of 2000 ford explorer vin [xxx] was driving on i90 e in ma and set speed control. Upon pressing set/accel button to increase by 1-2 mph, vehicle throttle position stuck in accelerating mode bringing the vehicle to approximately 85 mph before braking and downshifting was able to decelerate speed. Only under excessive braking force on pedal was vehicle able to be brought to under 50 mph, at which time the vehicle transmission was put into park just to stop. Driver then called 911 and had vehicle towed to local shop. I have been able to reproduce this issue in controlled conditions. The throttle is fixed in its speed control position (this can be set to maintain speed or fixed in accelerate mode). Braking shuts off the speed control light but does not disengage the throttle. Once vehicle is brought under control and stopped the throttle can be manually released by hand and it snaps back to idle position. Investigation has revealed that this vehicle had been recalled by ford under 03s03 (nhtsa 03v280000) for a speed control cable replacement. It is apparent this this part failure has occurred again to this vehicle. Further investigation will take place to determine whether the cable in the vehicle is original equipment or a replacement part. Additionally, it is the replacement part we will request investigation why the replacement part failed as well. My brakes failed due to lip and warpage created on front rotors. Brakes failed within 10,000 miles of normal driving. Brakes were replaced again and old lipped rotors available. This was the third set on my car with only 50,000 miles.

On february 25, 2005, i was traveling 55 mph on the highway in traffic when my 1998 ford windstar began to leak oil and slow down.after several near collisions, i was able to get to the shoulder of the road.i instructed everyone to get out of the vehicle because of the smokey smell.i then called keystone aaa mid-atlantic my emergency roadside assistance service.next, the keystone aaa mid-atlantic technician arrived and he commented on the number of ford windstars that he picks up on a daily basis.after observing my vehicle, he stated that it is probably a transmission problem.i explained to him that it could not be the transmission because i just got a brand ?new transmission? twoyears ago. He then towed my vehicle to springfield ford in springfield, pennsylvania (6 miles away).on wednesday, february 26, 2005, i received a call from someone in the service department of springfield ford and i was told that i needed a new transmission and i was lucky that the vehicle did not catch fire because of the leaking oil.indeed, if springfield ford installed a ?new transmission? two- years ago and i now need another ?new transmission?, it is clear that the transmissions for the 1998 ford windstars are defective.moreover, i was on a busy highway traveling 55 mph when this second malfunction occurred.

My car doors are hard to open or will not open at all. I have a 2003 ford focus, and i called ford motor company and they said it is up to me to fix the problem at my expense.when i bought the car, i thought that being new that they were a little sticky and would free up after awhile, but they never did. I have gone on the net and to only find out that the 2000 - 2002 have had the same problem and had recalls on them. Sense i have been asking other people, that a friend of mine is having the same problem. This is a saftey hassard, apparently the door latch problem has returned. God forbid if iam in an accident and they cant get me out of my car or my grandchildren out of the back. Is there something that can be done about this.sincerlyjanice moses

My husband and i purchased a 2001 ford expedition xlt in july 2001.we have only received 1 recall on this vehicle which pertained to the pcv valve. We have not been notified of any other recalls by ford.we have checked yahoo.com and currently there are 7 recalls. We are wondering if our vehicle is affected.the vin # is [xxx].we are also wondering if there may be a recall on the axles of 2001 makes.a young man wrecked in our front yard the other night because his back right axle broke into and made the back right tire come off and fly across our yard.luckily, he was not hurt.we have 3 children in this vehicle with us and are concerned about their safety as well as our own.thank you for any help in this matter.updated 07/18/2012 information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

My 2004 ford f250 super duty diesel had its turbo replaced in may 2005-it has been in and out of the dealership's garage on and off for the last year, stalling out at various speeds, we can not tow anything with out it blowing black smoke and cutting out. I am 1000 miles from the initial warranty the mechanic's have not fixed the problem i located a nhtsa recall which describes the problem to the tee. Ford motor company representatives told me that my vehicle's vin wasn't included in the recall so i have to pay out of my pocket for the correction. Even though i am still under warranty, and the consequences of summary states: if the engine stalls, a crash could occur. Which could endanger my family and possibly someone else.

Jan, 2004:1998 ford contour recall performed (brackets for front springs).aug, 2005:replaced tires on 1998 ford contour se using p205/60r15 tires suggested by the manufacturer. The tires made contact with the bracket bolts installed during the recall, causing tire to be gouged (tried 3 brands, all had same contact problem).ford dealership said there was no problem with the bracket.i ended up using a different tire size:p195/65r15, which barely clears the bracked bolts.i believe there is a problem on the 1998 ford contour se brack recall / tire combination.

The key will not turn in the ignition.ignition had to be replaced.this is the third time it has happened, and i had to have it towed each time.

My car began having steering problems with speed of 40 mph and/or if i hit a rut in the road.i contacted a private shop that dealt with suspension problems and had it repaired.when i picked up the vehicle it did not feel right.my husband said that it would probably need to be driven for it to be the same.nineteen days later while i was going approximately 30 mph with my husband as a passenger, the car made a huge noise and went out of control.i looked outside my door (driver side) and my front wheel was sideways and off of the car. The car was towed home that night.the next day the car was told back to the shop that did the work.the owner of the private shop doesn't feel like he did anything wrong.i explained to him, that i wanted it fixed correctly with all new parts (there are other damages to the car). He called his insurance company and i in turn called mine.i then went on the internet and found out there was a recall on the car prior to my purchasing the car.the dealership i bought the car from, did not have a record of the recall.they have referred me to another dealership out of my state.because everything that was wrong with my car is exactly like the recall, one can only guess that this car was not processed correctly.please help me.

I have had work done on my ford f-150 p/u truck i paid to havea problem fixed that pertains to campaign id-97v171000 (power train)... Some time back -there never was a recall notice sent out for this repair and also for campaign numbers 98v007000-(vehicle speed control and many other recall numbers for various things -as follows 00v168000-06e052000-98v161000-98v095000-just need to know where i stand and especially for 97v171000-if this is dealer oversight i should be re-emburst for the repair cost.there was no incident with this vehicle !

We own a 1995 ford windstar. A few years ago we received a letter with a notice about the problems ford has with the windstar and tauruses with the 3.8l engine.ford extended the warranty to 7 years, 100,000 miles.at 83,812 miles our head gasket blew, and ford did fix is under warranty work.of course, we figured that would be the end of our problems.however, last weekend, at night, on a hill, on a back road, in the rain, our head gasket blew again.we only have 45,000 miles on the headgaskets since they "fixed" it a few years ago.this time the head gaskets blew, the motor seized and he had no power in the car.he had no headlights, no brakes, nothing, and he had 3 small children, besides another adult in the car with him.he couldn't see out the window as it was fogging up, and he had to get it down a hill!fortunately, by the grace of god, he got it down safely, and got it to the side of the road.we were towed at 12:00midnight.ford is saying they have no responsibility to this, and we think this is unbelievable.all over the internet you find nothing but this defective problem in this van, and can't understand why ford won't take more responsibility.if the first headgasket was given a warranty of 100,000 miles, why wouldn't they warranty this one with more than 12,000 miles, especially since they know they have an obvious problem.in this case on saturday night, the consequences could have been very tragic, and 3 small children would have been injured or killed.yet ford washes their hands of us?if this head gasket had had more miles on them than 45,000 miles, we would not be complaining, but obviously ford has a major defect that they still have not resolved, and the consequences could be costly to lives.

The inner cooler tube for the turbo blew apart, filled with oil, causing the tubro to be replaced16000 miles.8 months later it happen all over again 26500 miles

This particular problem has happened to way too many people. I firmly believe it is a safety concern.

02 ford lincoln continental right front spring broke causing tire blowout & loss of control may 11,06 left spring broke while parked garage.

Repeat of a speedometer failure.this is the third failure since i have owned this 1996 ford windstar (purchased 1999). It cost me over $400 in 1999 to replace the speedometer head and now it is failing in the same manner - the needle bounces all over the place until it just pegs out at the far right.i submitted my last complaint regarding this problem in december, 2002 - ref#786265.i have been told by dealers, private repair shops and even your agency that there are obvious problems with ford speedometers but there has yet been any assistance offered by ford. A speedometer should last the life of a vehicle and there is no way i should be on my third one at 113,000 miles (with a new engine and superb maintenance resords)!note:it is not the airbag switch that i have issues with as it shows in the equipment section.i could not find the right options under equipment for a speedometer.

I own a 2000 ford focus.the wheel bearings have been replaced 3 times.it appears that they will fail every 20,000 miles.i have notified ford motor co. And they have advised me that they cannot help at this time.i assumed when i purchased this car that it was safe and reliable. I am sorry to say that i was wrong.i find it hard to believe that any car in michigan would need to have the wheel bearings replaced every 20,000 miles.the first failure occurred before the recall when my daughter was driving the car. The tire was shaking and almost fell of the car. The second failure occurred during the recall.the third failure occurred when my daughter noticing a loud humming from the rear of the car.i have contacted ford motor co. Customer care center twice and they have informed me that due to the mileage of the car (68,000) that they are unable to help me at this time.i advised them that the repair was only 20,000 miles old.they advised me that this does not matter to them.if ford had correctly fixed the problem, in my mind, it should not occur again every 20,000 miles.if ford is just replacing the part with the original design part, it will continue to fail.i would hate to see a death occur because this design flaw was not fixed correctly.ford is also stating that we must pay for the repairs because we did not 'pay' for the extended warranty.thank you.

I own a 2001 ford taurus the car won't shift into gear is this problem going to be recalled?23,000 milessame vehicle has 23,000 miles the egr valve has been replaced twice is this going to be recalled?*la

I walked to my car one evening after catching up with some friends.when i went to start the car i could not turn the key to start the ignition.the enitre steering column locked up including the brakes.not only did i had to have my car towed to the nearest ford dealership, but it was not covered under my warranty.the dealership replaced my "ignition lock".when i went to pay for the work, the cashier said that they have to replace at least one "ignition lock" a day at the dealership.now my radio has been shorting out.i called the dealership that worked on my car and they said that there is no correlation between the two problems.

*nlm

From day oneproblems with door handles and engine noise suspension. Car has been at dealer more than at my home. Now at 65000 miles, motor went. It was replaced under fords esp warranty. Picked up car and drove app 10 miles and had to go back to dealer because when they put the motor in, they did not put power steering fluid in. Drove car not even with 200 miles on it, it stopped at a stop light. Car stalled, when started it started making loud engine noise. Walked back to dealer and service manager gave me a ride to car. Service manager checked the oil and told me to drive car back to the dealer. They checked the car and said that a lifter in the motor had air in it.i think this car is very unsafe .

Transmission went out onmy 1999 windstar van ...has 61,300 miles on it....was putting it in drive from a stopped postion and heard a loud noise and almost sounded like explosion of sorts....like a backfire in muffler....doesnot go in drive at all....speedometer doesnt work when motor is revved ...

I own a 1998 ford mustang cobra and it only has 36,000 miles on it.i bought the car july 18th 2002.i only had the car a short time before for some reason on the way home from work one day the car made some funny noises and of course it bent a rod.i called a couple of friends and one owns his own performance shop and said it happens very often with my 4.6l dohc engine.i noticed that sometimes the car would only rev upto about 4,000 rpm sometimes but yet the rpm red line is 7,000rpm but since i don't use it to race i didn't think much of it.well i am not too happy about this and ford said that it would cost me $3,500 to fix this problem.if it is happening so much why should i have to pay up to fix something that they put weak parts in.

Intake manifold was replaced on 1996 thunderbird in 2000.it is now cracked, and after spending 550.00 to find that out, there is nothing ford will do even though it is on campaign (97m91).now i can not drive my car.

I was driving and the transmission slip and then went out and now can't even drive it. *nlm

Local ford dealership has not replied to email requesting additional investigation.

Upon depressing the brake pedal to make a stop vehicle accelerated, resulting in unwanted and unexpected acceleration

In april 2003, the transmission in my 95 ford explorer went bad. The problem presented itself by the overdrive light coming on and blinking.subsequently, the vehicle would not accelerate faster than 35-40 miles per hour.the problem was diagnosed as the transmission and it was replaced by cottman transmission. Since that time, i have had to have my vehicle in the shop on at least 5 occasions for replacement of a "module" in the transmission.as of july 17, 2004, this "module" is continuing to fail causing the overdrive light to come on and continuously blink.when discussed with cottman, i was told that ford was aware of the defect of this item but would only continue to replace it and not replace the entire transmission.since i am a heavy interstate user, i am concerned that my transmission will fail while speeding along the interstate and cause an accident.

Our 2000 windstar has had continuous problems from 20,000 miles on.recently at 60k miles, our transmission began to fail.we were under extended warranty.each time we went to ford service, we were told a seal was brokenand repaired.two months later, the same problem.three months later the same problem and same diagnosis.at 70 k, the check transmission light came on and the o/d light began flashing.although we demanded a new transmission, ford service refused, telling us that a seal was once again broken.within two days, the same problem causing a breakdown out of state.new service rep. Rolled his eyes when he saw what the prior service department did, but 4 days later, told us that a defective part was installed and that a new part would be put in.of course, no new part was put in and on transit home, the check transmission light and o/d lights came on again.i would never ever ever ever buy a ford again as a result of their lies and failure to fulfill warranty commitments.

When changing the rear tire of my 2004 f150 on the side of the road the jack gave way and pinned me under the rear axle. This is the factory approved jack that comes with the truck. My brothers did the same thing while changing his tire as well as a e150 we owned.

While driving, clutch and brake pressed car completely shut down while approaching traffic, leaving the consumer with no steering or brake power to handle the car. Car impacted suv. Vehicle towed to ford dealer.

Right turn signal and brake light.i had the explorer diagnosed and the dealer said that it needed a multifunction switch.i had the switch replaced and a month and eight days later my right signal and both left and right brakes lights are not working.i had the bulb replaced two months before the diagnosis because i couldn't understand why the bulb kept going out and the diagnosis on a multifunction was made.

Total transmission failure on the 4th transmission in 1995 ford windstar replaced by ford.

Two weeks ago i went to get out of my suv and the door would not open.i finally got it to work after pulling on the handle and pushing lock/unlock about 20 times.this happens daily.

Because the abs light comes on during long drives and remains on until we stop the vehicle, our explorer has been in the shop on 3 times in 3 states. We''ve been told that we shouldn''t worry if the light goes off after stopping. A ''grinding'' noise checked in colorado for 3 days last year wasn''t a problem until our rear differential suddenly went "out," in ohio. In illinois, the abs light came on and stayed on for the first time.we went to the closest ford dealership, and since it didn''t remain lit, we were told to get it repaired in iowa, since it wasn't "major."the abs rear sensor was replaced. The mechanic said that explorers with differential replacement were having sensor problems.when the differential was replaced in ohio, the service rep mentioned a "kit" to replace the differential. Both garages seemed conversant with the abs sensor and differential problems.the suv has been maintained at ford dealerships to ensure systems serviced by mechanics and technicians well versed in ford products.the abs sensor light problem recurred in may after a 200 mile road trip, going off after we stopped. My brakes failed when i tried to stop while traveling between 5-10 mph, about 550+ miles into an extended road trip.no citation was issued as the sheriff's deputy said there were no skid marks on the pavement to indicate that i had "jammed" on the brakes.i had pressed the brake pedal to the floor and had no brakes when i hit the back of a penske moving truck.the abs brakes and "auxiliary" brakes failed on the vehicle, with over $11,000 worth of damage to the front end of the vehicle, even at a low rate of speed, which seems to be a pattern of problems with the abs. The air bag didn''t deploy. I reported this to ford's customer care center on 7/18/2005, got a reference number, and was told i would hear from the consumer advisory group within 3 business days, haven''t heard from them, yet.

On august 26,2006 took my suv to dealer to have it checked out because the front end was shaking really bad. Was told that it needed to have front and rear rotors replaced had another dealer check out only need front rotors replaced had them replaced. On sept 8, 2006 took back to dealer because i heard a whinning noise thought it was the power steering fluid low. It checked out okay dealer check it and was informed that the power steering pump was bad had it replace. Picked up my suv and it was still making the same noise. Was told to drive for two weeks to let air bleed out line and bring back in two weeks call them to let them know that the noise was still there took to dealer. Nothing was done about it. Call the ford customer service line and mailed them a letter about what was going on. They told me to take my suv to another ford dealer did that was told that the power steering pump was bad that i had put on in aug. And that something was causing them to go bad. The steering rack is the problem. I call the dealer where i've all of my work done on my suv and talk to the general manager. He was rude and hung up in my face i call back i'm going to take my suv to them tomorrow oct 27,2006 and see if we can come to terms to get my suv fix. But i've see many complaints about the same problem that 'm having.

Strange noise coming from van when i turn, rack and pinions gone bad, ford refuses to do anything and told me that i would never get anything from them for reibursement of repairs and that they don't care what the nhtsa or goverment say. I only have 36,000 miles on my van even though it is a 1999 windstar this should never have happened.for does not care about their reputation or product or consumers.

Seveir vibrationon brake application....replaced brake pads and new rotors.... Suspension seemsfine....new tires....balanced

I want to complaint on the ford windstar headgasket/engine.4 time repair now again need repair and ford is refusing to fix it unless i pay 4100.00*la

I bought the car with 0 miles on it. I heard loud squeaky noise in the brakes at any speed when slowing down. The first week, i took the car back to ford. Ford sent me home telling me it was dust in the drums. They said it should wear off in a while. 1 month later and the noise still was present not better or worse. I took it in again, they had the nerve to tell me to just wait longer. 3 months and the noise continued. I then took it back and they put new brake pads. I had the car for 3 months and the brake pad were bad??? they put new brake pads on, and again the noise remained. Will they ever fix this problem??? it is now 1 year after and the noise remains. Don't buy a focus, even brand new and 100,000 mile warranty and still have problems no one will fix.

Two transmission failures.the transmission was replaced @ 18,118 miles and then again @ 39,933 miles.

Ford issued a safety improvement campaign, campaign number:03v482000, in november 2003, which stated that contamination of the filter in the fuel delivery module would eventually lead to blockage of the system.the replaced the fdm in my car in 2004 because my car was experiencing all the symptoms of the advisory.however, 2 years later, i am experiencing the same problems because the fix did not work.the filter once again became contaminated and the fuel pump once again needs to be replaced.i spoke to a customer service rep at ford and although he was very understanding, the fact is the advisory was not a recall and they took care of the fdm.i am not sure what else can be done at this point because, this first recurrence happened while trying to merge onto 60+ mph traffic and my care refused to accelerate beyond 30 mph.if ford says that the problem is fixed, then a repeat of the problem should not occur two years later.

Tie rods (steering) went bad onmy 2003 mustang (it has 37,000 miles), and convertible bezel came loose. Vin#[xxx].parts were replaced at the cost of $236.00, however i feel this should be a manufacturer responsibility, and not consumer. Also, my 1988 ford f350 had a steering problem that was corrected under recall in 1988, however, recall didn't hold, and last year i had to spend $800 correcting problem a second time.i also believe this should be covered by manufacture.my 2004 expedition had it's recall done (for cruise control).years ago a new ford of mine caught on fire.why do fords seem to have constant problems with steeringand/or fuel?updated 07/17/2012information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

This is the second time in less then two years i have had to have the transmission rebuilt.it was bought on 8/14/04 as is no warranty from a dealer (demo) unit it had 38547 miles on it, 10/13/04 the transmission blew with 41675 miles on it. The dealer wouldn't give me no help as well as ford customer service, i paid 2181.03 to have it rebuilt including the torque converter replaced, and the solenoid pak (which was replaced 2 more times shortly after being installed each time) it needed a ls kit, bas hing kit, 5 forward steels, filter and fluids.march 8th 2006 i find myself spending another 1412.56 to have it rebuilt yet again now only having 64460 miles on it, it needed an overhaul kit, filter and trans fluids, intermediate band, od servo piston, int servo piston and another solenoid pak as well as the transmission case repaired.i have owned several cars in my life time and never had to replace a transmission especially twice in less then two years, this is my first ford and will be the last ford i own! i can't afford to spend this much money every two years and shouldn't have to the way i see it!

Failure of rack and pinion and steering shafton 4-3-03; same problemoccurring on 12-12-2003.

In june i purchased my expedition and noticed that there was a rumbling noise and pulling to one side at a speed of 55 about two weeks later.i had taken it back to the dealer he said they checked it out can not find anything wrong. While turning in to a parking lot in sept. Iheard a crack and my steering was not good. I thought nothing serious ,well when i went to leave i could not back up my front wheel was dragging results was a broken tie rod.very lucky to not be driving down the road with my 3 children. The front end is still making the noise in which dealer said front wheel bearings now that my warranty is expired ! is there a recall ?

While driving 35-45 mph on a country road in the rain, the brakes were applied, explorer did a 180 sliding onto the shoulder and rolling 3/4 over, then slid back on the roof. 2000ford explorer was totaled.16 year old was wearing a seat belt and had only bumps and bruises.

Prior to the accident we had the telescoping brake and gas pedal replaced for a defect.(it didn't work)on september 9th 2005 at approx 12:00pm our ford excursion suddenly accelerated, which resulted in loss of control of the vehicle atspeeds in excess of 80 mph.avoided roll over and hitting other vehicles.spun out 2 times before crashinginto a fence @ mcas (marine corps air station) yuma arizona.was taken to the hospital by ambulance.highway patrol. Accident investigator and yuma police have pictures and reports of the acceleration pedal still mashed into the suv's floor-board still open at full throttle with engine off.the accident report states mechanical defect of acceleration pedal.the tires and under chassis caught were on firewhen vehicle came to a crash stop or it could have been a fire prior the investigator wasn't sure.when the vehicle was put in park the tires were still spinning out as if the suv was in a drive gear.although i suffered minor injured pulled neck and back muscles and broken elbow (radial neck fracture).i could have been killed or seriously injured or killed another human due to this defect.completely terrified to ever drive again.

Ford 1998 windstar power train failure. In jan 1999, i purchase a used 1998 ford windstar. Also paid for a 72 month/60,000 premium care extended warranty. In 2000, the transmission failed almost causing and accident. I brought the vehicle back to the dealer and they replaced the transmission under warranty. After that i brought the vehicle back more than 5 times stating that the new replacement transmission was not working properly. The trans would slip coming out of first gear and bang into 2nd gear. Also, when driving on a highway the car would stall when downshifting coming off an exit. The dealer, springfield ford, stated that they could not find a problem. On july 18, 2003 the transmission failed while i was driving. The vehicle just stopped and would not go into gear. As a disabled individual this was a major problem and almost caused an accident. With my flashers on, i was able to put the car into neutral, and drive off the road and safely pack it. This seemed strange that i was able to drive the vehicle in neutral. The vehicle was towed to springfield ford on july 18, 2003. The dealer called and said that my warranty had expired and it would cost $3000.00 to fix the transmission. I spoke with ford and the manager at springfield ford. They stated that my warranty expired in june of 2003. I believe that my warranty is in effect thru 2005. This vehicle has 47,000 miles on it.i believe that a defective transmission was installed in my vehicle. This has created a major safty issue for me and my family. As of today ford has not offered to fix my car, offer me a loaner car, or offer any resolution to this problem. As a disabled individual, this van is my main transportation and family car. I am still waiting for ford to offer to fix my car, describe the failure, and provide a solution.at this point i believe that the entire power train needs to be replaced with oem certified new parts installed and paid by ford motor co.thank youl *ph

The pumping of fuel from back tank to front tank, even after the recall. The dealership said they didn't expect it would be fixed by the recall and that was all they were required to do. This pumping of fuel didn't start until the first recall fix was done on the fuel system, and i have put up with this unsafe situation for the last 12 years.*nlm

98006. *nlm

Headlights on 1993 lincoln mark viii are ineffective when used for night driving.inability to see has resulted in numerous "close calls" and has made the car unsafe to drive after dark.

Engine starts misfiring and loses power completely and shuts off. You can turn ignition off and restart engine and the engine runs good for a few minutes. The fuel rail sensor corrects this problem, but i've installed two sensors in four months.

The interior light continues to remain on and the dash readout indicates that there is a door open when there actually isn't. As a result, the driver's side door will not lock as long as the car believes there is an unlocked door.

Two weeks ago i went to get out of my suv and the door would not open.i finally got it to work after pulling on the handle and pushing lock/unlock about 20 times.this happens daily.

I have on numerous occasions have had trouble with my rear drivers side door open by itself.cannot lock or latch. Have to hold it with straps.

Ford windstar 1999- transmission, rack and pinion and manifoldford would not help so i took them to small claims court in ontario and won full cost to all three matters.

Two transmission failures.the transmission was replaced @ 18,118 miles and then again @ 39,933 miles.

Automatic tranmission failure at 29,131 miles.

Transmission gears breaking, timing chain loosening.

Parked on a slight slope with the engine off, my 97 ford explorer rolled back 5 feet by itself, coming close with coming traffic!

Total transmission failure on the 4th transmission in 1995 ford windstar replaced by ford.

Buzz from front while going slow/ thump/clicking noise from under truck it's been replaced 3 times, thump feeling when tacking off.

I was driving and the transmission slip and then went out and now can't even drive it. *nlm

I own a 2001 ford taurus the car won't shift into gear is this problem going to be recalled?23,000 milessame vehicle has 23,000 miles the egr valve has been replaced twice is this going to be recalled?*la

Ford gave no reason for complete trasmission failure. Fortunately sllipping and failure occured during transmission warm up in drive way. Complete transmission replacement at 40,000 mi at owner expense.

Automatic tranmission failure at 29,131 miles.

While driving, clutch and brake pressed car completely shut down while approaching traffic, leaving the consumer with no steering or brake power to handle the car. Car impacted suv. Vehicle towed to ford dealer.

Trans shifting problems grinding first to 2nd gear and lock out sometimes to third.some difficulty getting into 2nd also from first

The rear end was leaking fluid on several occassions, had the rear differentail seal replaced two times, which did not fix the problem.eventually the rear end had to be replaced.rear end now shutters and shakes less then 10,000 miles after it was replaced.

*mr

My brakes failed due to lip and warpage created on front rotors. Brakes failed within 10,000 miles of normal driving. Brakes were replaced again and old lipped rotors available. This was the third set on my car with only 50,000 miles.

Brakes warping...abs comes on,brakes start pumping......turn the brake disc about three times, replaced brake disc four times in twenty thousand miles on f 150 ford pickup truck........

When i put the key in the ignition, it would not turn.the steering wheel locked and the ignition switch froze.i had to have it repaired for $300.apparently the locksmith is making a fortune off the ford focus with this problem.

Popping noise from both front tie rod ends. This has been going on since i bought the car new. Took to dealer unresolved.

Ford windstar 1999- transmission, rack and pinion and manifoldford would not help so i took them to small claims court in ontario and won full cost to all three matters.

I recently rented a ford taurus from hertz with "never-lost" gps system.hertz has mounted the unit on a metal bracket coming out from under a center instrument panel and extending left into the passenger foot well area. This is a ridged piece of metal that during an accident is highly likely to cut a passenger knee cap or leg.these units were previously on a flexible stalk.i advised the agent upon return of the vehicle but wonder if it will be followed up.

I had to replace the front sway bar links on my 1996 ford taurus three times over the last five years.

2000 f-250 4x4 front hub: i had to change both front hubs on my 2000 4x4 f-250 with only 62,790 miles and the bearing locked-up on one side and the other was loose. It cost me $ 1,225.00 to replace the hubs and seals, each hub cost 408.00 and each seal cost 38.00 from ford. I talked to 2 other people with a ford 4x4 and thay had the same problem. I think ford should pay for the cost because it hasonly 62,790 mileson my truck and the other people ,one had 46,000 miles and the other had 74,000 miles . The bearing could be changed @ around 40.00 to 60.00 but fordhas on the bearingretaner nut part do not remove. To me i think ford just want to make more money on the whole hub with the bearings . Ps also glad i wasn't going to fast when it locked up

I own a 2002 taurus with 40000 miles and twice know i've had work done on my blower unit. The first time i lost all settings excepthigh. The dealer stated that it was a bad resistor and replaced the resistor. Two weeks later the same problem happened. The dealer stated that there was a problem with water getting into the blower unit. He will put in a modification and replaced the blower unit. A week later we had bad rain in new england and there was an inch of water on the passenger side of the car. The car will be going in for service again for this problem.

*la

The iac valve in my 2000 gt mustang has gone bad. Causing problems with idle and cold startup.this seems to be a problem all across the board with many mustang owners. This problem needs to be put into the light and a recall shoudl be made.

Required to purchase & have three (3) clock spring/wiring harness assemblies that control (1) cruise control (2) horn (3) airbag (4) shorted out ignition key assy in the last four (4) years.

1999 ford expedition burned in garage, destoying garage and damaging house. Not driven for over 12 hours. Burned so badly investigators could not determine how it started. Recall was done for cruise control switch.

I was on the highway so i put on the cruise control, when i hit the brakes the car slowed down, then when i reasled the brakes the car radily speed up, and it is hard to shut it off.

Upon depressing the brake pedal to make a stop vehicle accelerated, resulting in unwanted and unexpected acceleration

Ford company sold me a defunct engine, has 10,000 mile on the engine, that thay sold me. Thay well not stan behine it. The dealer here in perry said that it was defunct, but could not help me becouse it was ford motor company warranty, not there. Can you help me?thanks.

*la

Wipers come onby themselves from time to time.8jb
