I purchased ferodo brake pads from korman autoworks inc of greensboro, nc. The pads were installed in my car at the same time as replacement brake rotors and brake lines. The pads were "fluffy", and compressed with the application of the brake pedal. There was almost no stopping power. I nearly drove into the intersection at the first stop sign. The brake pedal went to the floor. The shop extensively bled the brake system to ensure that no air was present. The spent $630 in diagnostic time and $532.50 in diagnostic parts to identify the ferodo brake pads as the problem. When they removed the pads, they were shown to be crumbly. There is significant wear on the front pads, despite only about 30 miles of use (mostly diagnostic mileage). I have received neither a refund for the pads themselves ($171.50, including shipping) or compensation for the parts and labor (including a new master cylinder) to diagnose the problem. I have contacted ferodo directly. They inform me that korman sold me pads originally intended for jaguar, but that they are the same as the bmw pads, except not as much pad material. I have sent pads back to korman/ferodo for their testing. I have one complete set (1 front pair and 1 back pair) for nhtsa to test, should you desire.these brake pads were clearly very defective. Had i not been attuned to the performance of my car and immediately noticed the problem, they would have probably caused an accident. I have tried to get korman and ferodo to accept responsibility for the defect and to investigate the failure.
