As a single mother of baby twins, i am both completely freaked out as well as gratefully relieved to have found this site.the complaints read like a checklist of past issues and god willing, preventable future issues.the gas tank cannot be "topped off"... All things considered, this was a seemingly acceptable issue.the engine light coming on accompanied by totally unexplained stalling every so often became a problem which would cease just as randomly as it occurred. Finally (when pregnant and nervous) i brought it in after one too many times.apparently this jeep model/year is weather sensitive. Rain seemed to be the catalyst, but i refuse to put one of those anal person car covers on becoming a slave to the weatherchannel. Mechanic changed temperamental sensor which, so far, seems to be managed.the a/c fan only works at 3 and up, which is too much hot/cold for even the most anemic after more than five minutes.back to the weather, winter causes front struts to creak and moan like a geriatric beast.once again, this is annoying but seemingly innocuous.four wheel drive shift only works in part time hi (or low, don't recall), which is disappointing though again, not life threatening.the combination of these defects simply feels as if it was built with indifference to the consumer.now that i have two priceless passengers, i refuse to wait for the cv joints to disengage before demanding all repairs be made and double checked by my implicitly trusted mechanic (ironically also a twin).in closing, thank you to all who contributed their stories and enlightening me to caution regarding the dangerous flaws as well as commiserating our shared frustration with the problems, like the window track disengaging, which combined are one big expensive potentiality dangerous headache.

In july 2002, my mustang started overheating and i received a recall notice, (recall # 01s30), i took my car to ford and they said they would check it for more damage. I got my car back and it still overheated, so l called ford and they told me to bring it back in and they would check to see what the problem was. They told me there was nothing wrong.. So i replaced the head gaskets and it still got hot, so i had the fan motor checked and that is what was wrong, so replaced, and the car ran fine until april 2003, so i started replacing cooling system parts until, the head gaskets blew again, so i replaced for a second time and relized that the problem was the fan circuit breaker again.. I again had to replace the circuit breaker and the fan motor.. I also called ford again and got that the part was out of warranty and that there was nothing they could do for me.. I now have blown head gaskets for the third time in ayear.

On a safety recall notice i took my car to the dealer to install an engine cooling fan. 2 weeks later and only about 100 miles the engine ran hot and locked up. I've called the kia consumer assistance center only to be put off every time. They wont repair my engine or pay to have it repaired. I want them to pay me exactly what they want me to pay them for their mistake.

Cooling fan on my 1995 ford taurus burned up. I complied with[nhtsa recall no. 01v390/ford recall no. 01s30] in nov. 2002.i thought that was suppose to prevent this type of problem.

I own a 2000 jeep grand cherokee 4x4it has 116,000 miles on it. I have a problem with my fan just stopping and the engine overheating. I have a the fan relay replaced 3 times in the last 3 years and the fan replaced one time. I did not receive and recall on this matter.

I drive for dattco bus company in plainville, ct. 06062. I had to do a charter for 9am on monday 9-20-04 from plainville middle school to indian rock in bristol ct. 06010. When i left for my charter i had to switch buses with another driver. Which returned to bebus number 1804 with air brakes. I left for my charter and headed for indian rock. Where i had found bus 1804 going very slowly up route 69 ( wolcutt st. Bristol, ct. ) there was big black smoke coming from the back of the buses tail pipe, the fan for the tempature never came on the water pressure was 230, i called it in to my dispacher judy and informed her , i made itto indian rock.when i pulled into indian rock to drop the passengers off. The antifreeze came rushing out of the bus. I called dispatch to see what to do, she told me to leave the bus there and to come back with another driver, so i did.i got back to the yard, explained what happened again to the dispatcher judy. And then i left, when i returned to pick the passengers up. Judy informed me that she had called new britian office for the mechanic to come fix the bus, he refused to come and said the bus will be fine it was just the over flow of the antifreeze. And the bus will be fine to drive when she meaning (me) returns to pick the passengers up. So no one came to look at the bus, nor try to fix it. I under hand had to risk my life and passengers to bring them back to the school, i was not sure if i could refuse to drive the bus. So i did, we did indeed get back to the school safetly, i told my boss i was very uncomfortable on the whole situation and i will never drive another broken bus again. The bus still is not fixed nor has been looked at and another driver contiues to drive the bus all day long with passengers.

Within four months from date of purchase my 2002 ford explorer xlt 4wd start having problems. They are: 1. Vibration inside including physical movement inside when driving with rear window crack over 30 mph. The faster you drive the grater the vibration. I took the explorer to several dealers, they inform me that this is normal and it's refer to as helicopter effect. 2. The digital keypad stop working. 2. The keys don't open the door 3. The transmission slip, kick and delays when put in drive or reverse. 4.transmission delays going into overdrive. 5.the passenger side quarter panel glass shatter twice, at first i taught someone had broke it and my son reported it to the police. The insurance company replace it and few months later in my garage it shatter again and that's when it all came together. This time my son fix it for me. 6.theres also a winding some coming from under the suv and my son thinks it have something to do with the diff, keeping the vibration in mind. 6. The latch that secure therear where the jack handle is located broke.

Dashboard has a loud creaking sound coming from its underside when turning on ventilation?there is creaking from the dash seconds after shutting the engine off.there are strange numbers popping-up on the climate control display. The cold ir blows from one side of the dash even when the heat is turned on. Research has shown all 1999-2004 jeep grand cherokees with electronic dual climate controls will eventually require major repair in order to cure hot air/cold air blowing from vents when they're not set to do so.
