I have had a 2004 5.7 limited dodge durango 2004 version and have consistent electrical problems. The first time the truck did not start when i was out of state. I needed to get towed to a dodge dealer and it took almost 3 weeks to fix. They stated that the electric system shorted out and replaced some system within the car. After getting the car back i had consistent problems with the air conditioning system, interior lights, radio system etc. They would work sometimes and not work most of the time. I took the truck to the dealer (bridge chrysler in new york) several times and they said there was no problem. After calling the main complaint line several times they asked me to bring it to another dealer in brooklyn.(bay ridge) the service manager dan worked with the service department for another 2 weeks to finally identify that the original time the truck died and was fixed they replaced the wrong part. The service department in brooklyn fixed the truck and i do not have major problems most of the time now but i was without the truck for over 6 weeks over the duration of the lease so far. There continues to be electrical problems with my truck but i do not have the time to leave the truck for another 3 weeks.

Tuesday, march 21st-i drove from my home to my work. (approximately 5 miles /12 minutes from our home.) i arrived to work safely. I left work at approximately 1pm. Turned left onto market st. (oh.7) and plan to continue straight on market st. While approaching the market st. And midlothian blvd. Intersection i had the green light and planned to continue driving straight through the intersection when suddenly the car turned a sharp right and the handicap steering wheel locked causing our van to crash into a car stopped at the red light of the intersection. I was transported by ambulance to beeghly emergency room in boardman, ohio.the regular steering wheel was locked in a right position and the aevit screen came on.the error was a steering error.the regular steering wheel eventually unlocked with instruction from the installer.the consumer asked if it was unsafe or harmful to the system if the system was engaged and disengaged often for regular or adaptive use and was told no.
After being in service for less than 4,000 miles, my emc, aevit, digipad-ii console failed to shift my van first to drive for an extended period of time, and then failed to shift out of reverse. I was trapped in my van, in my garage for over 2 hours because the digipad will not allow you to shutdown the engine unless the vehicle is in park; and the digipad/wheelchair lockdown (cci) would not release my wheelchair while the engine was running. The technician who finally arrived to help said that the failure occurred because i did not have brake lights; and that i did not have brake lights because a wire was being ?pinched? by a servo motor. The vehicle, servo motor, and wire are available.
I used the aevit emc electronic gas and brake in my adapted van. I am a quadriplegic. On a couple different occasions, the brakes seemed not as responsive. 2 1/2 months after having the van, i was driving on the freeway. I was going speed limit, and then i noticed that my side of the freeway was stopped. I started pulling back on the had controls to apply the brake, but the van neither stopped or slowed down. I had no choice but to pull over to the access lane, and i hit the cement barrier and totaled my vehicle. Had i continued going forward, i would have killed me and my passengers, as well as a few other people in my path. The brakes failed to work. The equipment went to the manufacturer, who, of course, said there was no failure. As a matter of fact, the "black box" says that the van was braking and slowing down. It did neither.
