I have a 2005 chevy 2500 i have had the steering shaft replaced 2 times already and now at 80,000 miles it has gone out again. I have contacted gm about this problem, they are aware of the problem but unwilling to do anything about it, they say its not a safety issue. Well maybe they should drive it for a day they would think otherwise. It feels like the steering wheel shaft and all is about to fall out of the truck , i am afraid to even have my family ride it the vehicle with me. I have researched online and this has been a ongoing problem for some time and gm has not addressed the problem. I would advise whom ever to get online and research all of the blogs etc of people having same problem their are so many it would take me months to read them all. I spoke will gm again last week and they told me to contact your office and report it to you if i want this problem resolved. I believe it is a safety issue and should be recalled. If the steering shaft vibrates long enough it will break and then no steering. Thank you for looking into this issue and helping me and the millions of other people experiencing the same problem. Again this will be the third time this part has been replaced first at 20,000 then 42,000 and now at 78,000.
